Found this with AliGle while exploring the Lake Waikaremoana area. I did the Great Walk here a few years ago, but today we were focussed on some of the shorter walks in the area. Really enjoyed the walk up to this spot, it was quite misty when we arrived, but our patience paid off and some of the mist lifted to reveal the views across the lake. Awesome spot - fav point added! TFTC!

Visiting Lake Waikaremoana with Vistra today on our way to Rotorua. Found this cache fairly quickly after a brisk walk up to the lookout. No view today unfortunately due to low mist. An amazing spot though, and a beautiful walk through the bush.

In Waikaremoana for a few days of fun Big Grin

Made the climb to the top, and windy it was! grey too, just after 6pm, but already the light is changing. Took a few pictures, admired the view, and then came to find a cache.

Easily found with the help of a good hint. Thanks for the hide Jodiporsche, loved looking at the overhang, and caves on the way, sadly just a little early for glow worms.

What a stunning view from up there. Made the daylight walk and visited the caves too. No glow worms but the shiny areas at the cave ceilings are great to see too. Fast found. TFTC

Fifth find for Easter weekend 2018.

What a stunning lookout! Breath taking. Well worth the slog up (and yes it is a very UP track...). Caves, views, what more could a geofam ask for!

All in good order at this cache, thank you for the placement!! Gets a favourite point unanimously from the Fam.

We were in this area today and called to find the cache and have a look from the lookout.
It was mid afternoon when we arrived so that would have been sunlight, cache soon in hand and log signed and replaced as found, and what a view.
Thanks for the placement and the smiley

A nice short hike to Lou's Lookout was perfect for ReCached and me as our last activity for today. After enjoying the great view (yay, we saw our campground from up there) and logging the cache, we went back to our van. TFTC Jodiporsche!

my jsme asi žádné glowwormy neviděli nebo si aspoň myslím, že to nebyli oni... ale ta vyhlídka stojí za ten výšlap

I was lucky enough to walk up to Lou's Lookout by torch light with 28 children , staying the week at Camp Kaitawa. We were unsure if we were going to make it up as the wind was pretty blustery but the bush provided a bit of shelter. The glow worms were amazing. We were lucky to see heaps. The kids loved holding onto each other in the pitch black as we walked through the rocks spotting them. We saw some huge Weta in the caves too. The look out was amazing even though we had to hold on for dear life. I didn't take a gps for this cache but luckily the clue provided all I needed to find it. An amazing place. Can't wait to come and see the view in daylight. A fav point and a highlight of my week so far.

Heading from Rotorua to Napier on a mountain biking expedition, we decided to take the long route via Murupara to Lake Waikaremoana then Napier. Beautiful scenery on the way and a stunning lookout at GZ with panoramic lake views. As stated in the description, I imagine this would be an awesome cache at night although sturdy footwear would be advised as this not a "great walk" track/footpath by any stretch of the imagination. On arriving at Z the GPS showed 20m to go but after using the hint to easily find it the GPS settled down in the end to be much more accurate.

And, of course, an elusive {FTF} as in Wgtn a couple of OCD cachers obsessively grab them within a couple of hours of publication leaving those of us with work and family commitments not even bothering to try. On the way up from Wgtn we thought we would grab a FTF in Foxton only to find it had been nabbed by an OCD Wgtn cacher (a 2 hour drive each way!) so it was nice to get this one.

Gets a FP from us for taking us to a lookout we would have otherwise driven straight past.
