### **OWNER MAINTENANCE REQUIRED PLEASE** ###

----------

Hi there Princess_Bogan,

It looks like this cache might need some attention, as one or more seekers have indicated there is an issue with the placement. The cache has been temporarily disabled, so as to remove it from search listings and discourage people from visiting this location until the issues/s with this cache can be addressed.

**You do need to respond in some way within 14 days, so others know you are on top of it, as well as indicating exactly what is happening with this placement - please don't let a lack of communication scuttle this listing.**

#What should you do now:-#
You have a number of choices so pick the one that applies from this handy list:-

- **Check On The Cache:-** Visit the cache and repair and/or replace or do whatever else is needed, post an [**Owner Maintenance log**](http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=404) indicating the cache has been checked and [**ENABLE your cache.**](https://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=235 ) Then sit back and wait for the logs of praise to roll in.

- **Place A Write Note Log::-** Reviewers don't have a crystal ball, so without your note on the cache page explaining that the site works are on-going, or you have been in hospital, or the area is in flood, they can't tell what is going on with the cache.
So please just post a note to the page (within 14 days) and when a Reviewer next looks at the listing, all will be fine for a little bit longer.
**Be sure to indicate the actual date that you expect to have it fixed so that everyone knows you are on top of it. If you have a long term unavailable cache (where you don't have an actual date) please ensure you visit the page and post a note every 4 to 6 weeks, so as to keep everyone up to speed.**

- **Adopt/Archive:-** If you don't plan on fixing it then you could consider passing it on to another geocacher by asking them to [**Adopt it**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=54) or alternatively, you need to [**Archive it,**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=56) so it is removed from searches and someone else can have the spot. Don't forget to remove any remnants of your previously enjoyed cache too.

You might wonder what happens if you don't pick one of those. Well, if nothing happens, then a few weeks from today, when a Reviewer next looks at the cache page, it is likely that they will, unfortunately, have to de-list (Archive) on the basis that it has been abandoned.

Honestly, I'd rather you decide so please do something before then. Please don't send me an email but instead follow the information/advice posted above.

**JUST A TIP:-** Have you checked out the new Geocaching Dash Board designed to assist a Cache Owner in managing the caches they own? Have a read about it [**HERE.**](https://www.geocaching.com/blog/2020/07/welcome-to-the-cache-owner-dashboard/?newsletter=PM) You will find your very own dash board [**HERE**](https://www.geocaching.com/play/owner?utm_source=geocaching&utm_medium=blog&utm_campaign=COD)

Thanks for your cooperation,

Bunjil

**This Cache**

I have looked for this cache a LONG time ago, I was with DSD and we were coming back at the end of a day-trip. It was pitch black and I convinced him to make this quick stop. He tilted the headlights towards GZ and we started searching. No luck that night though Sad as we only had 5 minutes!

Today it was nice and sunny, perfect conditions! The cache was not hidden at all as I expected, but I spotted it from a distance laying on the ground as it had not been covered. Great to tick this off the list! Although the logbook could use some attention

Thanks

---

**This Afternoon:**

Finished my crack of dawn shift at 1:30pm and headed home, was just about to load the bike into the boot to attempt a Canberra Centennial multi, when I got a message from Sui regarding an amended D/T rating on one of his caches!

Whilst checking out the changes, I remembered the 150+ caches I had unfound in surrounding Yass area, mostly new and old DSD or Sui caches! Decided I had about 4 hours to kill and I haven't had a caching trip in NSW before lockdown started, so it was about time! That single multi can wait... Razz

Ended up with 31 cache finds over the next few hours! Mostly P&G's with a few tree climbs and unique hides in the mix.

Thanks to all the CO's!

Find #4509

Lockdown has bought a totally different approach to caching with the introduction of homework! Much time for homework in fact. Therefore many more puzzles solved, both as a solo and collective effort. Thanks to my fellow geo buddies for assistance when needed.

And in between there are still some traditionals, though not nearly as many of them left these days

Out with Marmaduke Rothschild for a drive interstate and in the country because we can.

Logs all in good condition unless otherwise noted.

Thanks to Princess_Bogan for putting out and maintaining all of these caches for our enjoyment!

This is our first chance to take off in our motorhome and test it out. It is so long since I have been caching, I am feeling very rusty, with very little caching over the last 18 months. Now we are semi retired, so we will no doubt get familar and catch up on some very late logs.
Stopped and made this much harder than it probably should have been but it gave us an opportunity to stretch the legs while passing by.

Thanks Princess_Bogan for placing the cache and doing the maintenance, so we can enjoy the find.

Heading home from the outlaws place - driving by myself and had the time so a few caches were targeted on the way him. A few in Sydney then various spots along the Hume Highway - all caches searched for found so have to be happy with that.

After finding one of the Outgoing on the way north, thought I would try one of the incoming on the way back. This was different to everything that I was expecting - not the rest area I was expecting and certainly not the cache type. Circled a bit and eventually found it - was surprised a couple of cars came i. While I hunted here.

   CUT AND PASTE SECTION
Streak day 69
Below is a blurb about us.
We are trying to get a badge from Project-GC for writing found log files of 100 words or more. Once we get this badge we will stop writing this. We are also trying to
get badges for adding photos to our found logs.
We Started caching in December 2019 and by January 2020 we were hooked. As we are on the road full time (living in a caravan), caching fits in well with this lifestyle.
It is taking us to places that we would normally not have gone.
When we move to a new place we also look at what caches are in the area and how many days we will need to be there to get the caches we want.

Found 2:11 pm with partner we were now our way home from Yass after staying at Swaggers motel and had revisited family again this morning. We had been out to visit the family for 50th party last night in Yass and as usual I wanted to find a cache or two. I had found a number of caches from Yass to Sydney back 2018 but had lost my log entries when my phone was busted (about 150) I’ve been slowly identifying some of these. This cache was one of those found but I can’t find the log entry to verify maybe the log was partly refreshed I dunno. Anyway signed again and returned the cache to its hiding spot.
Thanks for the cache.

All caches were found sometime between 5:49am Friday 2nd and 6:28pm Sunday 4th November. Big Grin

I’ve been invited to attend a special event in Wollongong on the Saturday, well why not make it a whole weekend away with some caching to go along with it. Big Grin About a month ago I started looking at caches I could find along the way and noticed that if things go to plan I could make my #1000. This didn’t end up happening. Sad I found out when I approached the GZ’s of a few of the caches I had chosen didn’t have parking space to stop and/or were difficult to find which lead some caches into DNF’s. Sad I did however love finding all the caches I did find and to end on an even happier note the last cache I found was a FTF (GA13111)!!! Big GrinSmile There were lots of great camos and styles of hides that I hadn’t come across before and new styles for common hides that provided me with plenty of fun and ideas for new caches. Most of the caches I found were in great condition but for the rest of them, the maintenance required is log books/sheets and/or containers need replacing, camo needs replacing, D/T and coordinates need correcting. On some of the smaller logs I signed as 2/11 JM, 3/11 JM and 4/11 JM. TB visit on all found caches over the whole weekend. I would like to thank all CO’s for the caches I found, the locations I visited and for the fun it provided me over the whole weekend! Smile
Weekend totals:
45 Finds Big Grin (41 Groundspeak and 4 GCA)
4 DNF’s and a lot of drive-bys Sad
Cache Types: 7 (Trad, Virtual, Mystery, WherIGo, Trig-Point, Earth and Multi)

Another nice quick find. TFTC

P.S. Sorry about the generic log.
P.S.S. All Caches found have been logged in order and backtracked to the correct day.

###**CACHE OWNER PLEASE NOTE**###

----------

This cache would seem to have had some welcomed action on behalf of the CO by a Good Samaritan - 'Shellumbus', and it lives for another day.

However, the maintenance responsibility rests with the CO. **The issue has been addressed temporarily but the onus is still on the CO to check that all is as it should be.** If the CO does not maintain the listing it can be de-listed (Archived).

I would strongly recommend you have a refresh of the Maintenance Guidelines here: [**Cache owner responsibilities**](https://www.geocaching.com/play/guidelines#listingmaintenance) as well as the Help Centre article here: [**Maintenance expectations**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=57)

You need to Enable the cache - see here: [**Temporarily Disable and Enable**](http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=235) and then remove the "Needs Maintenance" attribute by logging a "Owner Maintenance" log - see this Help Centre article: "[**Removing the Needs Maintenance Icon.**](http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=404 )".

Because of the Needs Maintenance' attribute, it is still appearing on my listings - **I've removed it for you this time and enabled the cache.**

Your prompt attention to any log that indicates things could be amiss will be warmly welcomed by all seekers, and your future assistance in this aspect of geocaching will be greatly appreciated.

Heading to Yass for a weekend of SES, my pocket query had this as an active cache - not sure why it's offline. There is a log in the cache with plenty of spots to sign.
Thanks for the cache.

06-Sep-18

---------

###**CACHE OWNER ACTION REQUIRED PLEASE**###

----------

I notice from one or more log entries that this cache would seem to be in need of some help - **there appears to be a need for owner intervention.**

Therefore, the cache is being temporarily disabling so as to stop it showing up on search lists and to give the owner an opportunity to check on the cache, and take whatever action is necessary.

The guidelines indicated that periodic visits to check on the cache, as well as prompt attention to any logs that indicate there is a problem, are part of the [**cache owners responsibilities.**](https://www.geocaching.com/play/guidelines#listingmaintenance) I cannot see any log that indicates a recent visit by the CO to this cache.

If you can't attend to the issue promptly, then you need to [**Disable it**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=235) - I have Disabled it for you this time.

**Can you please respond to this situation (or indicated your intention) by **27th September,** so others know exactly what is happening with this cache?

You have lots of choices so pick the one that applies from this handy list:

- Repair and/or Replace your cache or do whatever else is needed, post an [**Owner Maintenance log**](http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=404) and [**ENABLE your cache.**](https://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=235 ) Then sit back and wait for the praises.

- If you don't plan on fixing it up then please [**Archive it**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=56) so it is removed from searches and someone else can have the spot. Don't forget to remove any remnants of your previously enjoyed cache too.

- If you really hope to get it fixed but there is some unusual reason why you can't do it soon, then at least post a Write Note log (by 27th September). Be sure to indicate the actual date that you expect to have it fixed so that everyone knows you are on top of it.

You might wonder what happens if you don't pick one of those. Well, if nothing happens, then a few weeks from today, when I next look at the cache page, it is likely that I will unfortunately have to de-list (Archive) the cache on the basis that it has been abandoned.

Honestly, I'd rather you decide so please do something before then. Please don't send me an email but instead follow the information/advice posted above.

#7824 - 15:00; Headed out with andrewbt and Sol de lune on a GCA 'States of the Nation' mission across the border into New South Wales to plunder some treasure which has recently appeared around Mt Fairy. The plan was hatched with abt at a recent event and after the return of Sdl from OS the finer details all came together and today was settled on to head off on the scavenge. This is our fourth trip to the northern island this year. The first three were primarily for family events but with some opportunities to do some caching along the way. The fourth trip is different as caching is our focus. After getting off The Spirit of Tasmania we are heading north to cache at Wangaratta and then Yass before heading into the ACT and Queanbeyan for a week. After that we will travel to Jindabyne for a few days with summiting Mount Kosciuszko being our main target for this part of our trip. Then we will visit Cooma and Tumut before heading back down the track through Wangaratta and Mansfield as we make our way to Alexandra for the MEGA. After the weekend we will continue to make our way south and back onto the Spirit of Tasmania for the “drive” across Bass Strait. We are really looking forward to three weeks of intense caching in great areas and, hopefully, catching up with some geocachers in each of the areas we will visit.

We used the first two days of our trip to travel from Melbourne to Goulburn, caching along the way. For most of the travel we focused on caches on the north bound side of the Hume Freeway. We spent a few hours between Wangaratta and Beechworth on the rail trails – we try to find a number of caches in this caching mecca each time we come through the area. We then spent today working from Goulburn back to Yass finding caches on the south bound side of the highway. We then cached around the Murrumbateman area before heading back to Goulburn for the night. Although there were a few light showers, they didn’t interfere with or enjoyment today.

This was an unpleasant visit because inconsiderate individuals had used the area close to GZ as a toilet and had not covered the evidence of their visit. We found our way around the "landmines" and got to GZ where we were able to make a quick find. After signing the log, we carefully made our way back to the car before placing the area behind us. Thanks LisetteR73 for the cache - it was a good hide.

***** We are currently writing detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC. "The Author" Badge challenges geocachers to average one hundred words or more in each log. On 1 September 2017 our average was 86 which seems close to the 100 target. However given that we have found so many GC caches, we have to write many logs with well over 100 words for a long period of time to get our average to the target. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that we can strive to attain this challenge. After 126 caches (which includes all cache finds up and including yesterday), the average log length is just over 89.2. Progress is being made but there is still a long way before we achieve our goal.*****

After coming off nightshifts yesterday i knew today would bring great weather and the caching bug was bitting hard. Todays goal was to find caches along the hume between goulburn and yass and few pockets in between. The finds came in thick and fast and as always its a pleasure to cache especially in the area of yass.

With the long weekend apon us, nice weather and a full tank of fuel, it was time to head off on a little drive to pick up some caches to the north. This was a solo mission today, the music cranked up and windows down. Found a nice range of caches today and turned alot of unfound caches to some nice smiley faces Smile

Why can people not take their rubbish with them !!!!! This area has dirty nappies thrown all over the place, people are just filthy [xx(] Luckily I was able to dodge the mines and found the cache easily, signed and replaced.

Thanks for the cache hide Princess_Bogan

After missing the last turn-off I meant to take, I kept a close watch for this one. No issues happily, and found the cache after a few minutes of searching a bit too low!

We both had a day off for FFLL no 1 birthday so we decided a geomission was in order. So we loaded the GPS and the geopup and off we went. We were treated to some interesting weather during the day, it was cool, cloudy with a spot of rain, sleet and hail. But the three of us didn't mind, it was nice to get out and about the area.

We managed to bag 13 finds, 3 dnf and 1 dna which we would have liked to stop but the rain and hail made it a bit unsafe for the search. Lovely views across the rolling hills, thanks to all the cache owners for placing the caches we look forward to coming back out to clean up the area completely.

Suscoe and Phetlern were continuing their Yass and beyond adventures today with a trip to the north east and north of the Yass area. We even ventured into the Upper Lachlan Shire for a while as well.
Weather wise today was a mixed bag with a coll start, some sunny breaks, some heavier cloud and a stiff breeze at times.
We enjoyed the changing scenery and the little townships that we travelled through.
Thanks to LisetteR73 for this hide, fairly quiet on the roads today.

Another great day of caching in the company of our good friends Suscoe. Our route was a "loop" Yass - Gunning, Dalton, Jerrawa, Coolalie - Yass. Varied scenery, great flocks of galahs and cockatoos and of course many caches to find.

Thanks Princess_Bogan for placing caches, for everyone's enjoyment.
