#14,751. I have been meaning to come up to Waikanae for a while and pick up more of the caches in this area which seem to be expanding at a rate faster than I am finding them. The weather forecast was for showers but actually just a few light dustings came through and the rest of the afternoon was fine. This one took me a while to spot. I looked in a lot of places. Clearly the previous hider picked the sweet spot where it was not obvious from below, above or from the side. But eventually I did feel it and then I wondered how I had overlooked it. Signed the log and replaced the cache back where found. Thanks tmann421 for hiding it here. Hope you are recovering from recent traumatic events.
Well done, nearly didn't spot this one because I looked from "below" only. Dared to touch up the bridge -not my favourite thing but hey ho and got it __________________This weekend we didn't manage to go out for a long walk as family because we had so much on. Monday mornings are usually daddy and Miss 4 year old swimming classes while Mama Fox does the necessary admin work and said admin work is PILING up. Laundry, dishes, letters, writing blog, wanting to do some canning and much more. But hey ho I wouldn't be able to do it all anyway so I decided for dad to drop me off somewhere so I can walk back home to then do my tasks. Drop off worked, caching was fun but nothing else got done Carpe Diem! And thanks for placing and maintaining all these caches to allow me to neglect the boring thing called life
Quite a few bridge caches along this rout. And all of them different. Well done, Tmann.---I have been wanting to cycle the expressway trail since... since... long before the expressway was built, probably. And yesterday I realised that a) I had a free weekend, and b) nothing ever happens until it actually happens, so I put out a note to my group saying I know it's short notice, but I am doing this, does anyone want to tag along and to my surprise, TrinityNZ said yes. Turns out she has found most of them, for her it was more a cycle trip than a caching trip. My original plan was to train to Waikanae then bus to Otaki, then bike back at least to Paraparaumu, maybe further, but logistics around Trinity's bike meant we could not do that, so we cycled from Waikanae to Otaki and back. Trinity came a little further then returned to Waikanae, and I carried on to Paraparaumu and took the train back. Was a little worried it might all be cancelled as busses are replacing trains from Wellington to Porirua and Petone and sometimes the busses do not have bike carriers. One didn't but I only had to wait an additional 5 minutes. The other three were fine (two there, two back).Awesome day, possibly too much sun, little to no wind, nice and cruisey.
Quick find with not too much traffic about. Quite enjoy the outlook from here. Thanks tmann421
Macfam41 found it while out for a morning walk with the geo dog Southridge Laird of Kinlochaline. First find for 2024. TFTC
Much better parking as I was heading back. TFTC!!South Australia is the place be for GCA1DNA - MEGA - February 29th, 2024 in Adelaide! Hope to see you at The Great Leap Forward!
A pretty time of the day at sunset to watch the cars go by. Could see the cache blending in on approach. All dry and tucked away again. TFTC tmann421
#68 cool cache with a very nice highway view.Found on a day trip down to the west coast. TFTC
**taybee** is caching again with **taybee nz** for the dayQuick find here today All in good order, sign log book as **taybee** or **tb** or ( **TNZ** or **taybee/nz** as *taybee and taybee nz joint sign* ) TFTC Cache was found at **16/09/2023 @ 14:22:00**
Very quiet on this over-bridge, in fact you really cannot hear the traffic below until you approach it, found cache quickly, tftc tmann421
Another find in the dark. Not much traffic on the expressway (as expected at this time). After looking in a couple of spots, eventually found the cache. Unfortunately the lid has disappeared and the logsheet was absolutely soaking, so couldn't sign it. TFTC
Found after visiting Nga Manu nature Reserve. Nice day out and was bonus to find this cache. Thank you for the Cache.

The GPS had me looking on the right side of the over bridge but in the wrong spot along it. When I managed to find it the GPS showed about 7m out, no worries still a relatively quick find, it made more sense for it to be where it was as if it was to be dropped it wouldn't hit the cars going underneath!

What started out as a typical Sunday, driving home to Wellington from Wanganui and collecting caches along the way, did not end so well for when my car got impounded (not for bad cache driving though). Fortunately I did find every cache I went looking for, and this was one of them.
Thanks to the CO for placing this cache and bringing me here.

I stopped in the middle of the expressway to search for this Quick find, thanks for another tmann421!
Sat up here for a bit and took in the view of the expressway. Took a couple of photos here on the way back. GigiEV spotted this hide first. TFTC
On a trip away with my sister, Mum & Dad and of course there’s no trip away without lots of Geocaching involved! We spent today biking along here then tomorrow we are off to the Zoo! Thanks for all the caches along here tmann421
After a DNF on the last cache (outdated info on GPS) this one was spot on and easy as. Didn't even get off the bike
Thanks for the cache. Perhaps theres time to fit one more in although I'm using up me time.

On our way south and in 2 minds in doing this last peak but decided its a good way to get out for a day. Thanks for the placement.
#1751. On a wee caching binge in Waikanae to build up my November find numbers.
Nice easy park 'n' grab. The cache is getting quite rusty. Tftc tmann421.

My back was a bit niggly before I started biking these caches. By the end it was fine. Yay. Time to turn back and grab a few back down the trail. A nice quick find thanks.
Ms_KR and I are off on a wee tour of the North Island. A travel day from Palmerston North to Petone today. The weather was good for caching and biking, not too hot, cold, windy or wet.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Due to the postponement of the Auckland Mega, Buttels and the Crystal half decided to use the dates planned for the event to do some caching between Wellington and Palmy. Quick and easy find. Thanks for the cache
Day 2 of AKL -> Wanaka, grabbing a couple of caches where I can. Stopping in to visit relatives in Waikanae, was able to pick this cache up as well. Tftc!
Easy find on a beautiful clear morning. Good spot for a view around, thanks for placing
Back down this way visiting family and checking out all the new roading. A quick stop on the bridge, while checking my phone for cache location, my son turned his head and said there it is. We parked within reach of it. My caching sence is working today!
Neat place for a cache and a couple of pics.
Thanks for bringing me here and Tftc.

Another find on a sunny midweek bike ride after the tempest of the weekend which caused flooding and chaos in some parts. Cache in good order. TFTC
Out on a mission today to knock off a few of these Expressway Cycle / Walkway caches. A nice simple park and grab at GZ and checking out the view is great cover while filling out the log sheet.

Great views to Kapiti island and the Hills! Lots of tragic flies underneath you.
On my annual pilgrimage to Te Horo this morning with time to make a few finds before my appointment.
A nice flash bridge across the Inter-State and a quickish find with nobody in sight.

A last minute decision by Mr Rattll to go to Waikanae meant Mrs Rattll was offered the opportunity to be dropped off somewhere for a bit of caching, so despite a marginal weather forecast, this trail was targeted.
This was a great spot to watch the muggles whizzing past below, which acted as a great diversion for lingering here.
Thanks for setting this up tmann421

The last one of today's search. A much appreciated quick find and the road was quiet. Now for a long cycle back to the others... TFTC
Nice easy find whilst tidying up a few DNFs in the area

Found by geowife so well done to her. a good and tricky hide and had to look carefully. Thanks CO for the cache.
For a long time we have wanted to get some smiley faces along this bike trail and these few days off in the camper were the very excuse we needed to do them. The ride was very enjoyable and very easy with just a little breeze. It was great to see such an array of different hides and to see some of the country side from a different angle. All hides appeared to be in good condition and the co ords were usually spot on
Many thanks for bringing us to this area

Great view of the expressway from here. Not as busy this morning as it would no doubt be this afternoon. Noted some lowlifes has been doing burnouts on the bridge recently. No sign of them today. T4TCSL
Enjoying a geocaching bike ride along the cycleway on a beautiful afternoon. This one took longer than it should have, there are not many hiding places here. It was not quite what I expected - in fact a simple but effective placement! Thanks tmann421.
I was in and around Waikanae today, so thought I'd take advantage of the opportunity to try for some caches away from home to get my numbers up towards the magic 1000 which I will be hoping will be the WENZ Mega event itself this coming Saturday.
There was only the very occasional cyclist or car using the bridge when I was there today, so I was able to locate the cache, extract and sign the log, and then replace it all as found at my leisure. The cache itself was a straightforward find, and I can report that all is fine with the container and the logsheet.
Thank you for placing all your caches. I believe you have become the CO I've found the most caches of lol!

This one tricked me a bit, as I was searching for something a lot smaller. Nice one.
One of nine caches found on our leisurely bike ride along part of the Expressway Cycleway this afternoon. Credit to those who built this “shared pathway” for people to enjoy.
Took a couple of minutes to locate this one. It was our last find before we turned around and headed back to our starting point, collecting one more on the return leg. #1939. TFTC.

After being in Wgtn with grand kids and then staying a few nights with friends (Geocaching positive) in the kapiti area it was time to travel home and i thought id collect the last few that were handy on the expressway cycle way track.
I started here parked at the side and started my hunt i looked for ages and thought surely it is just here and i am not seeing properly so i re read the previous logs and knew i was in the right place and then wahoo my hand was on it.. how did i miss it before!
so a sigh of relief and signed and replaced before going on the two little walks either side of this cache.
thank you for this cache and another smiley face.

Found where I expected it to be but it took ages to actually put my hands on it, not sure why it took so long, but the thought of needing to log a DNF along with so many "Found it" logs for this cache kept the motivation going.

Cool hide, log dripping wet though and water was in the container. Dried the log and container as much as we could but also added some more paper and put both old and new log in a sealed plastic bag. TFTC.
Found during a very pleasant Sunday afternoon cycle on the EWY cycle/walk/ride path. My first use of this great new route.
Straightforward find, cache in order. Log signed, cache safely re-hidden, just as found.
TFTC I visited here with team cacher zboy wonder.
