As this cache has been out of action for too long, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Doesnt look like the cache is being maintained. Repeated DNFs over a long period and it doesnt stay long if it is replaced.

I've looked over half a dozen times over the last year when getting petrol and there's never an inkling of it. Would be good to get an update from the CO. Thanks.

07-Oct-18
Had a look on our way out of town, and had no luck. Contacted the last finder while we were out and about, but even with some additional info we still had no luck on the way back into town.

07-Oct-18
Our second visit here and looks like it's missing again. We had an idea about what to look for which was confirmed by the previous finder, who even gave us a detailed hint about where to look but no sign of it.

14-Aug-18
This was my first stop and third find today. How you might ask? Muggles!
I'd had a bit of a look with no luck, then a small group of girls arrived, *and sat down at GZ*! I moved along and a couple of other finds before returning to try my luck again.

While I'd been looking elsewhere I'd had a thought about what might blend in well here. Soon after I arrived back I was proved correct! A nice wee hide, hidden in plain sight.

The cache is definitely here. It looks like 1Framie's last maintenance log and Cur8or's disable log might have crossed in cyberspace. 1Framie, if you log a new maintenance log you can enable the cache again, so it shows on peoples' maps.

Hi

It appears that this cache has been inactive for quite some time. Is it going to be replaced or should it be archived to make room for possible future caches? If the cache owner does not contact me within Three Weeks, I'll assume the cache needs to be archived.

While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other cachers from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can't do so forever. Please either repair/replace this cache, or archive it so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. Also, if you haven’t done so already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching in the past and am looking forward to seeing your cache up and running in the future.

Thanks for your understanding,

Regards,

We did not want to believe it when we saw this morning the 2 DNFs, and went to the cache regardless. Good that we did as it was a pretty straight forward find, although we were a bit nervous about the busy petrol station. A quick grab and no problem with the cache at all - no need to be temperary disabled at all. TFTC

14-Jul-18
Hadn't seen the DNF's so wasn't aware there is a problem with this one. I'm glad that we called outside business hours as there was very little traffic about.

14-Jul-18
All fixed and ready to go.

10-Jul-18
Another to the DNF list.

10-Jul-18

The lack of recent finds meant we didn't spend too long looking.

19-May-18
Add us to the DNF list.

24-Apr-18
I agree it needs maintenance. I've been checking quite a few times since it got replaced but nothing seems to be there.

23-Apr-18
Does not seem to be a good place for the cache. Maybe ask for permission to place one and it would not get moved? Second time for us without joy - first time just before it got replaced and then we were not quick enough. Judging by the previous logs this cache seems to have some problems.

08-Apr-18
Had a good look but no joy.

02-Apr-18
DNF ... Are we looking to hard?

28-Feb-18
Parked up out front but there was a lady on the phone in the front, she kept on and on and on and on the phone and pacing around the windows looking on the GZ, 2wombles and I had a look behind some trees where she wouldn't have been able to see us, we elected that 2 middle aged blokes lurking in the trees is not a good thing and wait in the car, had ginger nuts and water. We waited in the car and after 15 mins elected to make a run for another cache and return at a later date.

Made this the third stop on today's 2 hour, 39.5km, 9 geocache cyclocache ride. No one was in the office today - maybe they were out to lunch as it was lunchtime when I called - so I made short work of signing this cache off. The log paper is damp and needs replacing as there is no room available for many more signatures. TFTC.

Quick find with muggles walking around. TFTC.

A great morning caching with daughter! We set off rather early and so had a good taste of the frost. As the day went on, the weather progressively warmed up to comfortable temperatures; however, we did not measure the day in degrees but number of finds instead Wink Thank you to all CO's for keeping us busy!!

On this cold, frosty morning, the stars were aligned perfectly... Husband would look after the baby, and mum and I could go out geocaching for the morning! Wahooooooo!!! Perfect, as I need to get the find rate up, but the baby hates being in the car... not very good for caching at all!!!! So a cold early morning start of waking up at 5.30am in order to find as many as possible before the clock hit 12 noon!

A speedy find - on a roll!

TFTC!! Smile

A quick and easy find. I had spotted the location of the cache from a distance so just had to wait for a break in the muggles to grab it. Thanks to all cache owners for taking the time to place and maintain your caches. BJ25.

We were in the area this afternoon and there was no one in the building behind the garden so the cache was a quick find. TFTC.

Had a quick look on our way to Akaroa but it was rather busy. We could see where it was but decided to find it on our way home. Later in the day it was much quieter and we signed the log quickly on our way home. TFTC

**FTF** 1210am with TheWanglers
Mad Monday night mission with TheWanglers & he was driving his new wagon...what better thing to do then to drive 300 odd km; and chase some random FTFs in far flung areas?! Driving for home we stopped & TW checked for any new publications.....and we spied this one in Tai Tapu....ignoring my GPS which wanted to autoroute use back through town we autorouted ourselves and got there a much better and logical way! A bit of a search and the cache was soon found Smile Nice one! Pleased that there was no traffic at this time of night/morning! LOL....

Had a couple of options for a Mad Monday Mission but earlier on option was eliminated and that left the gatefest of the Avoca. I grabbed TG nice and early and we headed towards the setting sun. The plan was to head to the end of the road and check the river hopefully with a bit of light in the sky. Well we headed in and honestly we thought we had opened 8 or so gates, so we made it in really quick. TG asked me if we would open the gate to the 4WD track and I said we'd have a look. We got all the way down to the viaduct with my front tires a bit bald we decided to turn around before getting into any soft looking watery bits. We grabbed a few FTFs here with a slippery night time river crossing and a ninety point turn. We headed out and opened 16 gates, I'm sure we didn't open that many. I ended up cruising around in my undies for the rest of the evening as the river crossing was higher than expected. We got home 12.30amish and clocked up 300+ kms. Good night.
We were heading back into town and I checked my phone as we came into service. There were two new caches. The first one wouldn't be a good option and this one had a DNF already. We decided to have a look. So around midnight we had a crack. TG came up with the goods and we scored a {FTF}. Good job on the hide.

Thanks for the cache donnaframe19.
