Another find, although looked in the wrong place to start with and when found it looked the obvious place. Thanks for another hide McJandals! We had plans to carry on along here but after going around the next corner, the main walkway to road was under water most of the way up the fence posts and the walkway along the stream was closed off, so we had to turn back and retrace our steps.

A nice quick find thanks.

Ms_KR and I are off on a wee tour of the North Island. The weather was mostly dry today, a bonus. We cruised around Tauranga and headed north to Wihi Beach.

Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

My son and I had a rare opportunity to spend the day together without his annoying sisters (his words haha) and with such awsome spring weather we decided to hit the bike track grab some caches

Such a well thought out theme, LOVED IT!!!

We were really enjoying our walk along the pathways finding caches as we went and were so pleased to come across this one.
We had no idea what we were looking for but were pleasantly surprised with the very nicely themed cache. It's a shame it isn't found very often but we located it safe and sound and made sure we knocked on the door before opening to ensure the trolls didn't think we were rude.
An awesome cache and the largest we found today. Gets a favourite point from us.
Thanks McJandals.

Struggled with this one. Not sure if because it was the last cache of many today we had lost our mojo and gave up too quickly. Perfect reason to go back at some stage.

12-Dec-18
Find number 4571. My second visit to GZ. That time I had no success. This was due to a wasp nest and I was on the wrong side. This time I had more time. It still took me some time to find. Thankful in doing so I was I signed and returned. Thank you for the placement.

11-Nov-18

SB20 and I took to our bikes and had a great afternoon biking along this cycle way. TFTC

10-Nov-18
On this lovely sunny weekend Kathykaches and I decided to shake the dust off our old bikes and give one of these cycle trails a bit of a go. We had a great time cycling through here and stopping every few hundred metres to hunt for a cache. We signed most logs as KK + SB20. Lots of great caches on this trail and well crafted hints and hides. There were a couple that we missed so we will definitely be back to finish it off properly! Thank you for the caches!

21-Oct-18
Out on the bike still. Enjoying all these on this run. Some very well cammoed indeed, took my time biking along

29-Sep-18
Hmmm. Checked out four areas of interest. No luck so it was time to read some previous logs. The mention of blackberries was all I needed and soon I was signing the log. TFTC Smile.

12-Aug-18
Quick find today

22-Jul-18
Prickly find!

03-Jul-18
One of seven caches located whilst cycling this walkway this afternoon. After reading about the blackberry plants, I decided to descend on the other side. Had to do a bit of looking around before spotting the cache, not exactly where I thought it would be. #1851. TFTC.

27-Apr-18
Out with a couple of the kids and squirrel nutcase doing a few caches on this fine afternoon. Nice quick find here today not sure why I couldnt find this the other week I was put off by the BlackBerry I think and went to the wrong side of the bridge. thanks for placing cache.

25-Apr-18
spotted a new cache out today but thought i had no chance to get a ftf.
anyway approach cycle trail from marshalls lane only to find a large section of it was under water.shoes & socks off pants rolled up and off.
next thing dropped my phone and couldn't get the caching apt to work properly.
so neared gz and spotted wasps zooming about.
was just beginning to wonder were cache was and a motorized push bike arrives with the pink flash aboard.
just happens to be the co of this cache.got steered in right direction of hide .
think i should have bought my machete to clear a few blackberries.
perhaps next time.

With Davidson clan... ANZAC Day, and not really planned or prepared for a big caching assault. We just thought we'd go with the flow and pick off any caches that we needed...

After a DNF here, my companion had done some homework and knew where to look for this one. We were hoping to spot this from above, but needed to climb down among the blackberry to make the find. A good sized container... such a shame we didn't bring any travellers. TFTC.

25-Apr-18
On a maintenance run today, and who do I run into, the one and only FapnGap, it seems people look on the wrong side for this one, yes a bit of blackberry has grown since I was last here, anyway Fap got in amongst it and soon had the cache in hand, so all good to go here, just be careful with the prickles.

07-Apr-18
No luck here today got under bridge past the wasps but couldn't see any trolls .

10-Mar-18
Due to a massive wasp nest we were not willing to pry any further and on the other side was blackberry

09-Jan-18
My favourite cache by a mile on this loop and such a creative container, a nice spot and good camo inside and out! I even got to enjoy some ripe blackberries off the bushes nearby (: thank you and a definite fp today (:

12-Aug-17
Completely overthought this, and as I came up from under the bridge a car appeared out of nowhere. They guy yelled out and asked if was going for a swim. I joked "yeah sure", but he gave me such weird look I quickly said "Nah of course not"... then back to the cache... how did I miss it the first time?

15-Jul-17
A bit of a duck and dive only to be on the wrong side - but got them in the end. T4tc

15-Jul-17
Out and about with Pagenz for a days caching in Tauranga. Carried on here from the On Ya Bike series. TFTC

11-Jul-17
Time to head out and tidy up this map a little. I gathered the family and this was our seventh stop. A quick find with accurate coords and a straight forward placement. Loved the container as did my daughter. Cheers McJandals, TFTC

25-Jun-17
Rain threatening on a Sunday - great time to go caching, though there were still a few keen dog-walkers out. Figured we would bike between the drops and if it got too hard, the car wasn't too far away. Big black thunderheads a-coming so we were thrilled to make this find. Great container. Added a TB for the fairies to mind. Cache all good. TFTC

04-Jun-17
whilst I scrambled down under the bridge Peel stayed on the bridge because of approaching muggles who engaged her in conversation, so I was stuck for a good 5 mins while the conversation went on above me. So I did the necessary recovery and signing of the log till I got the all clear to reappear, a nicely constructed cache.

Tonight was another adventure crewed by kiwis69, 11HPG11 & HKCB to see what we could find along this part of Tauranga as together and separately we had spent a lot of time clearing out other areas but not this one so it was a bit of a mystery as to what we would in turn find.
Generally we signed as HOAC or some variant of that (depending on how tired we were or whom for that matter signed the Log). We left Hamilton at 6pm collecting cachers as we went and made it home in time for breakfast (some slept on the way home - lucky buggers). Had some great walks in the evening, lots of laughs and some curses as am sure that many of these caches are easier to locate in daylight rather than the middle of the night. Not a bad night to be out and all in all about 40 caches collected, which should in turn put a hole in the map. Thanks to all the Co's who enable us to have fun.

This was the sixteenth of the evening and the first start to many kilometers that we actualy walked tonight. this entire segment we walked and enjoyed as we had the area to ourselves.

Thanks for the placement, Thanks for the cache

06-May-17
Another night mission in Tauranga tonight, but this time Cats&Dragons, Kiwis69 and 11HPG11 joined in the all night fun. Leaving Hamilton about 6pm meant we could get a good few hours in before sleep called and we headed back home to bed, still it was about 4am when we called it a night. A few tricky/frustrating hides, and a couple of DNF's made it a longer night than needed but still a really fun night out caching. A big thanks to the CO's for all the hides we found, we signed the logs with HOAC to save space.

Parked near No.8 and took advantage of previous trips to this area and used another man made structure to cross the river and avoid doing the full loop. No really problems with any of the hides though a few did take a few minutes searching to locate. Thanks for the trail.

05-May-17
Out on a Friday night mission with Cats&Dragons, HKCB and Kiwis69. Because who wants to spend Friday night sitting at home watching TV when you can skip the sleep and cache all night long. Signed logs as HOAC to save room

A lovely spot for a moonlit stroll on a frosty night. After what felt like a walk through a farm we came across the bridge. We soon found the right door to knock on and thankfully no one was at home, but there was a log inside. So we left our mark and carried on down the trail. Thanks for the well made cache. Very cute!

Over from Hamilton on a night caching mission around Tauranga with HKCB, Cats&Dragons & 11hpg11. Really enjoyed walking along here on a clear moonlit night. Nice quick find here. Almost missed the awesome detail of the cache container in the dark - what a cool cache! A fav from me for yet another example of how you take such care with your hides/containers. Cache signed as HOAC to save logbook space. TFTC

24-Apr-17
We decided today would be a good day to take the bikes to Tauranga and tackle some of the new caches on the cycle trail. Mrs S has not been riding for a couple of months because she had a fall and ripped a 20cm hole in her leg. Now it has almost healed it's time to regain the fitness, strength and balance.

Mr S arrived at GZ well before Mrs S and was already looking and wondering. We got muggled by a couple walking their 2 dogs who asked what we were doing so we introduced them to Geocaching and as they just started to walk away Mr S found the cache, so we were able to show them what a cache looked like. The dogs were more interested in the cows and the cows were keeping a wary eye on the dogs. Took the TB.

Thanks Mc Jandals. One more smilie on the trail.

TB Drop and check

25-Mar-17
Out for the afternoon, walking today instead of cycling as I only have 4 caches to get and it wont take me long (yeah right) GPS for some reason had me one side and then the other and even after getting down and having a good look I couldn't spot the cache so I text the CO to check on the side and then got down for a closer look. Finally with hard looking and feeling I spotted the cache which did blend in very well, Signed the log and left a bit more visible for the next couple of bike riding cachers. TFTC SmileSmileSmileSmile

25-Mar-17
Out on a bike ride with TNX Pro, we ran into Flossy at the bridge cache just up the track, waved to the cache owner who was watching us, and then cycled the 300 odd metres to this one.

I stepped down to troll territory (not sure about troll fairy though??) and before too long made the find and signed the log. A nicely crafted McJandals Cache and a nice hiding spot.

(FTF) Two grandies in tow today so mission more difficult than usual ....Arrived at GZ what a fab structure and a great asset to the Valley cycle and walk ways ....a quick search around and soon had log in hand ..... extremely surprised to find it clean .....Splatty must have gone right past it

20-Mar-17
{FTF} yay, why did Splatty not get this one?? It's just twigged how you knew we had two in tow today - you were spying from not too far away!! This cycleway is going to be a real asset - flat with a different return option and in an area that is being re-planted and managed so well. Some good options for walkers, and runners too. Thanks McJandels for bringing this to our attention with a nicely placed cache.
