On the way to Alice Springs we came across this cache. Some years ago we came exactly this road, but weren't into caching at that date.
Thanks for bringing back the memories from that year

We travelled 8,500km through 5 states for a 60th birthday party over approx. 6 weeks. We endured many days over 35C and then saw a lot of water in the eastern states. We enjoyed travelling east with family and then they travelled back to Alice and we made our way home to SA, trying to dodge the rain and wet weather.
Caching is a great way to see the many wonderful sights and learn about the places we are travelling through.
Thank you to those who take the time to hide caches

On the road again, and on our way from Daly Waters to Alice Springs for about a week but we will be stopping at a couple of spots along the way to break the trip up, tonight we make Alice so we can relax for a few days. Sadly though, we’re heading further south into the colder climates
A nice quick find, glad I’m not turning off here

After almost 9 weeks on the road, it was time to head back home to Adelaide.
On this trip I have safely travelled through four states/territories and somehow managed to avoid the everchanging and unpredictable Covid hotspots, lockdowns, quarantine and other restrictions.
I started from Adelaide at the beginning of July and travelled on my own for 3 1/2 weeks through outback NSW into Queensland and up the coast to Cairns where I met up with FeatherWaite and another friend from Hobart. For the next 3 weeks we travelled up the tip of Cape York and Thursday Island and back to Cairns, then headed our separate ways. I then travelled west across the bottom of the Gulf to Roper Bar and Mataranka with a few side trips, and am now heading south again.
I have visited some some fantastic places, particularly in the national parks and other remote natural areas, and I’ve seen a range of wildlife. I’ve also managed to find quite a few caches along the way!
I stopped here as I made a detour a short distance out on the Plenty Highway to visit an earthcache that had been published since my visit to the area last year.
This cache was a quick find.

Found during a trip from Adelaide to the northern tip of Australia and back. Traveling up solo along the Strzelecki Track to Innamincka, then through central Queensland to Quilpie, Blackall, Barcaldine, Hughendon and Ravenshoe to Cairns. In Cairns I met up with e.gregory1 and a non-cacher friend and spent three weeks on Cape York Peninsula before making our way back to Cairns and Mareeba. From there I headed on my own back home via Normanton and Karumba, Cloncurry, Mount Isa, Tennant Creek and back down the Stuart Highway through Alice Springs to Adelaide. All in all I spent six weeks on the road, visited many out of the way locations, enjoying the scenery and finding caches along the way. Thanks for the cache The Outback Way!
After completing the OSH Series nearby, Mrs Snakepitter decided to contnue up the road to do the NOAS Series, however not sure how much we can get done with the roadworks.

Found it easy! The cache has no log book or anything inside though and we didnt have any to replace it
This one has been muggled.
I found the original container, Geocaching guidelines and ziplock bag.
Unfortunately the log book has gone and an extensive search failed to find it.
I’ve placed a temporary log (bit of white plastic) in here as an interim until this can be resolved.
Next finder bring a new log book.
I’d say the amount of rubbish here indicates someone has used this as a picnic spot and muggled it.
I’ve placed it back under a tree at ground level and covered it with rocks.
Visited 3 TB.

Quick find We are here in Australia for 2 months. We have already visited Sidney , Blue Mountains , Katoomba, Biron Bay, Brisbane, Rockhampton, Airlie Beach, Whitsundays, Townsville, Magnetic Island , Cairns, the tropic forest of Daintree, Cap Tribulations, Charters Towers and MT Isa. We will also visite Alice Springs, Port Augusta, Adelaide, Melbourne and Canberra TFTC Merci pour la cache Greetings from Montréal Québec
Driven over from perth to visit Alice Springs. Day 2 of being here we decided to do the NOAS series and pick up a few puzzle caches and traditionals that were along the way. Unfortunately the first 3 caches in the NOAS series have been burnt from a bushfire and all that remains is wire hanging from the tree or marbles on the ground that were in the containers. Further along the series they have cleared the side of the road and a couple of caches were missing which we replaced and there is a few caches only just hanging on by a thread as they have cleared right up to the tree. Hope the CO doesn't mind we logged the first 3 caches as a find as we do have photos to prove we were there. Thanks to all the CO,S for placing these caches for us and others to find.
With GeoBet&Tor. TFTC. found with Carer Lis Brown on a trip from shepparton Vic to Ross river Homestead near Alice Springs, and back to Shepparton.
As we finish up our time in Alice Springs and start heading north to Darwin, we knew we had one more trail and some random caches we wanted to get on our way out of town. So we set off early with hopes high of achieving our biggest day of 60+ (massive we know) Glad to have a beautiful day to stop and start along the highway. Thanks to all who placed the caches along the highway, special thanks to Alicecaching for the NOAS trail.

Tagging along with the "Rats" on holidays has it's advantages, not only do we get to see our cool country but we also get to do a heap of caching as Dad just can't help himself and has to stop at every cache he can.
Heading across Australia on nearly every dirt road possible we stopped and found your cache as part of our adventure and for that, I thank you! Sorry about the log being a "cut n paste" but tthats just because we stopped at so many caches.

Apologises for the late log in some cases but we are only just catching up on our logging now that we have arrived back home. Your cache makes up many of the great memories we now have from the adventure. The faceplate style log doesn't detract from the experience we had finding the cache.
Thanks

I stopped by the junction today and found this cache
A good spot to stop as it gave me some distances to go by.
When I get bored with Alice Springs,
the Plenty Highway is me escape route
Good to see all the "OPEN" signs on the board [^]
I've tried to travel this highway twice in the past heading west,
and it has been blocked by floodwaters
Cache found !!
I'll be back for the rest next week
'Bout then a couple of vehicles towing camper trailers appeared.
Oh dear !!
Smashed back window syndrome
Somebody didn't fit proper mud flaps to their 4WD,
or catch nets to the front of the trailer !!

An early start from Alice Springs had us ready and rearing to go at 7:40 am to commence our morning of caching. N.O.A.S. 50 was our starting point and we headed south. We wanted to smash our former daily record (which had only recently been established as part of the Red Centre Experience over Easter). We knew we were in with a good chance. Just the N.O.A.S. series would have blown the numbers skywards, and yet we grabbed a few of the older caches as well. Thank you to all of the cache owners for your amazing efforts.
Found with richlink while in Alice Springs attending the Red Center Experience Event.
We have enjoyed our time here in Alice, discovering the spectacular locations that Alice Springs and surrounds area have to offer. Our thanks to everyone involved with the event and the local caches, your efforts are greatly appreciated.

After a bit of a sleep in we headed off with ilutrekking at mid morning to complete the NOAS series, caches on the Plenty Hwy and end up at Gemtree for their much lauded camp roast night. All caches located without a problem. Thanks generalmanager
We spent Easter at the Red Centre Experience Event in Alice Springs then hit the road north toward Tennant Creek before turning east on our geocaching adventure to Cape York.
A quick right turn to find this cache then a U-turn and back onto the Stuart Hwy for this trip. So tempted to take this road but decided against going via Townsville after all the recent rain.
