A few DNF's, worthy of a check

21-Feb-24
The solve was straight forward for me but with two sets of eyes. No joy

21-Feb-24
Looked around all the places where a cache might be hidden but nothing. Long time since last found so presume it needs replacing

16-Sep-23
Been back and forth to try find it multiple times, hoping fresh eyes would find it. I have the right place, but I'm pretty sure it isn't there any more.

In QLD for work and this was a solved puzzle. Prefect for tonight and a pre ice cream stroll. A short search and bingo.

Managed to nut the puzzle out old school with oen and paper on a recent flight.

Thanks to GurTheWanderer for the fun and the adventure.

18-Dec-22
Tried to solve this by hand a couple of times, enjoyed the process but never could compete it.
Wrote a few simple formula in Excel and for some reason it was so much easier.
Cache found in a deserted place.

Thank you E;)

First had to figure out how to solve the puzzle. Mostly work with word puzzles but this was fun. TFTC

07-Jul-22
I was lucky at GZ to spot this tiny little cache. I remember seeing this puzzle and maths is not my strong point but I do love these types of puzzles. I was happy to say o solved it watching the first quarter of AFL with my husband who would probably solve it much quicker. Thanks for all the fun

A fun day out with Davidwazza! TFTC!

08-May-22
I had solved these sorts of puzzles before, and I've found that setting up the logic in Microsoft Excel and playing around with the numbers eventually yielded the right numbers. This was a puzzle that I had solved several years ago before I was living in Queensland, with my belief that I may have visited this geocache location during a trip visiting family within the Gold Coast (and I guess I never did until we moved here).

Today, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I headed south for a Mother Day's lunch in Robina. We took the opportunity to detour past Southport, and take a walk around Macintosh Island Park, which was rather scenic and enjoyable. There were quite a few people enjoying the day's weather and checking out the nearby birdlife.

This was our first stop for the day, and I was hoping for a quick find. We initially searched a nearby tree, and then soon discovered the evil-sized cache hiding nearby. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks E_Smiley for the cache placement, and GurTheWanderer for its ongoing maintenance.
Note that this geocache was logged with the *Team Warren* Davidwazza/jesswrigley stamp.

nice quick find today
will bring the family back tomorrow on the way to wrestling

loved this puzzle

Found on a rather wet afternoon. We had been working on this for a few days and got quite close. With a final nudge from the geocache owner we were able to pull it all together. A nice challenging mystery. Thank you.

26-Feb-22
Determined to solve more puzzle cache this year, I sat down last night and attempted this one. Numbers have always been easier for me than letters but I was still very please with myself when the checker confirmed my answers. TFTC

10-Feb-22
Another caching day with Peppa and after our thwarted attempt at a cache at Binna Burra, we are now in Southport walking a few Wherigo's to qualify for a challenge or two. While on Wherigo 1, we were passing very close to this solved puzzle. (I didn't have any problems solving this one, with trial and error).
Admiring the hide, I located the cache rather quickly and did my pointer impersonation for Peppa to retrieve. SL then returned as found.

I played with this puzzle for ages… I mean AGES!!! Everything can be improved with a spreadsheet…

Patrol14 and I are on the Gold Coast with a new and different target list for a couple of challenges… After failing to collect the oldie at Binna Burra earlier we’ve landed in Southport thanks to the cluster of Wherigos…

We were virtually stepping over this cache so it was added to the list last minute… Patrol14 spotted the container as I was busy doing some gardening closeby…

Tftc… I actually enjoyed the challenge of this puzzle even though it felt like I was spinning my wheels… At least you know the rules of algebra…

Quick find after the CO gave me a massive clue. It’s been a nice family holiday and we leave tomorrow. TFTC

I was wandering around doing a multi and a wherigo and had this solved puzzle nearby so I decided to grab it while I was here too. Thanks for the cache

Thanks to TC for a little help. I’m not as good at these quizzes as I thought I once was.
Lots of deduction and a few months working on this one.
But got there in the end.

A quick solve in the field and a quicker find.

TFTC.

24-Jan-21
Lots of parking here at the GZ, Ghostgums made the find and signed the log. TFTC

24-Jan-21
A nice simple puzzle and quick find for Ghostgums, NurseyJulie and I when we arrived at GZ. This place was deserted today, so parking was a breeze and extracting the container required almost zero stealth. Perfect... Big Grin

Cheers GurTheWanderer.

24-Jan-21
Puzzle was solved at home and we had some co-ordinates to make our way to GZ. Caceh found after a quick search.

Found with Gunnie69 and Nurseyjulie as we made our way down to the Gold Coast for the Out on the Spit #2 event by SaintsMadHouse.

Thanks for the hunt and the cache much appreciated Smile

In between appointments on a wet & gloomy Friday I took the opportunity to grab nearby caches. I like to think I am pretty good at puzzles. I created a fancy excel spreadsheet to look at all sorts of number combinations but nothing, nada, nope, non, nein, nyet ️ Thankfully, a very kind friend came to my help and gave me the right numbers.
And then I get to the GZ and searched everywhere but nothing, nada, nope, non, nein, nyet ️ it turns out the council has replaced some local infrastructure and the cache has disappeared into the back of a council truck. Logging with kind permission of the CO. TFTC

I thought I was on top of this puzzle and I finally got it to work with some strange figures that put gz in an odd place. I got help from the co in the end and still now can't figure out where I went so wrong. Thankfully the cache was easy to find in heavy rain. Tftc and UTV

29-Feb-20
Great little puzzle we solved as a rain shower came over. Gz was deserted so it was an easy find in the obvious place. My first leap day mystery. Tftc

Replaced log book. All good to go.
Happy caching!

This puzzle was fun to complete and one that I was pleased when I got the numbers correctly sorted. Being a Sunday afternoon, the area was very quiet and the neat little container was soon in hand. Unrolling the log, we discovered that it was completely full, so we had to sign around the geocaching, com logo.
Thanks to E_Smiley for the enjoyable puzzle and for placing this cache for us to find.

Visiting friends at Cabarita Beach for the weekend, but today IolantheK and I ventured out for some caching.

IolantheK did the solving a while ago on this one, I was along for the ride Razz

T-Tech and I have been visiting friends at Cabarita Beach for the weekend, and this afternoon we will be attending our host's choir performance at St Peter's in Southport, before heading back to Brisbane. We left their place this morning allowing some time to grab a few caches before meeting the family again for lunch.

This one was solved quite a while ago, as I am a fan of the type of puzzle Wink Today we found very handy parking and after searching the wrong spot first, I moved a little and shortly had it in hand. TFTC, E(:

24-Aug-19
After finding a few caches my wife had seen a sign for Daiso and so the caching day was temporarily suspended for shopping. I didn’t even know what a Daiso is but I was OK with it if they sold coffee. They don’t sell coffee!

I forgot to put a belt on this morning and so I made a Daiso purchase. My shopping including payment was over in less than 60 seconds. Mrs Woodyrothwell hadn’t made it 5 metres down the first aisle during that time. I walked off to find an establishment that specialises in espresso.

After a brief shop that saw me carrying a large bag to the car, we turned up in an empty car park and are thankful we weren’t here during the week. It’s lucky that people aren’t sick on weekends. tftc

08-Aug-19
Had this solved for a while and thought it was probably about time I went to collect. TFTC, I enjoy a puzzle that makes me think.

15-Jul-19
Today’s plan was to get some caches on my list as well as clues for Mystery at the Museum. Succeeded in both

A quick solve months ago at home in WA in anticipation of our travels. A quick find my Mr dimor, 2/3 for him so far

I head out first thinking, “oh yeah, I got this!” Then nope. As I’m walking away from GZ, I looked back and saw a spot I missed searching. Spellzen gave it a go and I said “be sure to look there!” Which he did, and he was successful tag team ftw! Tftc! Teazr and Spellzen

30-Mar-19
Very sneaky hide next to a very busy road. Used some stealth and timed the grab while trying not to look obvious. Teazr had a look at the obvious spot with no luck (no thanks to my misleading guidance ) then my turn, she gave me some advise on where to look and nailed it.

Cheers! Spellzen and Teazr

Heading south after work the plan was to link up with another interstate cacher but illness and priorities before geocaching meant they had to cancel their trip so this was a solo effort. The puzzle took a bit to solve but some numbers appeared. Over the GZ and it took a little to find the tiny hid plus a few GPSr swirls. We added our initials and re hid. TFTC.

23-Feb-19
Attended an Event at Helensvale Library and a small group of catchers set off to get some caches. By the time we arrived at this GZ it was on our way to get dinner. Tiny cache was found and log signed. TFTC

23-Feb-19
After a geocaching event at t he Helensvale Library, our small team of RoddyC, hatzofff, echocage1 and imbunda set off to find a few wherigo caches and a bit more.

Last one on our way to dinner.

Log signed and cache replaced as found at 7:24 pm on 23 February 2019. TFTC, E(:.

We spend a few nights on the Gold Coast while the geo kids were enjoying themselves on a camp. Solved this little puzzle hanging around on the beach and picked it up on our way home.

TFTC and the nice puzzle

13-Jul-18
Came up to Gold Coast for a week as netball parent. Thought I’d grab a few caches and chose this Mystery for a Challenge. Able to solve it on the way up in the plane thanks to a few previous logs and a recognition on what was required. Had coordinates that were good. Just getting there was a small challenge- too. Hired a Mobike - did a few trips on them while here - the three speed ones are better. So the GZ is not the most wonderfully inspiring part of Southport. Thought I might be in the wrong place. Perseverance.. no not there .. not sure what I’m looking for. In the end Trust your hard math work the coordinates are true - the placement was excellent. Thanks E:) for the puzzle and cache.

17-Apr-18
Interesting puzzle. TFTC

17-Apr-18
Cache nicely obscured from clear view by nature. A good spot. Signed log and returned. One half of the log now used.
Cheers and happy caching!

I had a message from bristracker one night asking if I could solve this puzzle. Yes, I could. Nice logical puzzle lead to a good looking solutions. Out with Bristracker for the day to pick up some caches for the planetary pursuit challenge. We searching for a minute or so until I spied the cache. TFTC

24-Mar-18
Well my caching buddy found it and I SHOULD have found it because it wasn’t too tricky. Best found at a quiet time like Saturday afternoon.

18-Jan-18
I solved this puzzle back in Canberra quite easily, my grandpa LOVES Sudoku's and he does one in the paper everyday to keep him occupied! When we would visit him he would have a stack of cut out sudoku's from daily newspapers for us to have a go at too!

I had also researched the GZ on Google Maps to be extra prepared so had an idea of the cache location.

I got to GZ and found the cache pretty much instantly which is always good.

Thanks again E(: loving the variety of caches you have hidden around here!

16-Dec-17
Scratched my head for a while on the puzzle, then I took the bull by the horns and started plonking numbers in. After a few false starts I was merrily on my way and ended up with sensible coords.
The visit to turn this into a smiley was the last and easiest of the days caches and it had to be as the muggle mate chess player I had brought down had finished his tournament and was awaiting pickup from somewhere at Helensvale. Quickly signed the log, took some happy snaps and then took off to see if I could find the muggle and head home. Eventually did so smiles all round. TFTC Smile

14-Aug-17
Another one that was solved last night. I took a look and thought it would take ages to work out. I decided to do the sudoku for another nearby puzzle first and if I had time I would come back to this one.

It was actually easier than the sudoku. I love logic puzzles. It was sorted in a few minutes. Cool

The terrain rating had me fooled at GZ. Spent some time in the wrong spot, but I did spy the hide from my elevated position. [:o)]

15-Jul-17
I had looked at this puzzle a few times and thought it just too hard and time consuming. But I couldn't ignore it any longer. I decided that it needed some parameters and rules that weren't stated. I decided t set these for myself anyway and that certainly helped in the solving. The more I juggled the more my maths at school brain started to kick back into action. (It's been over 45 years since I needed these skills!!) And then it suddenly became relatively easy. Thanks E(: for the challenge. A favourite point from me.

25-Jun-17
Started working on this puzzle and soon realised that I needed to make a few big upfront assumptions around possible number ranges and whole numbers. Messaged the CO to confirm I was on the right track --- and I was [^]

At GZ, initially looked in the obvious tree, but then spotted the sneaky little bugger a little further to the east Wink

31-May-17
This puzzle was really tricky, I tried many times to figure it out but always just got frustrated with it. I asked friends and family if they could help - lots of baffled faces! In the end, I had to ask the CO for help - ahhh, it turns out that I was attempting to solve it in the wrong way! Hmmmm.
Anyway, with the final coordinates in my phone, I could progress to GZ and make a quick find.
Thanks for the very tricky cache E:)

When this cache first got published I thought oh jees, that's to hard to bother with with at the moment, so I left it and forgot about it.
Last night however I decided I would head into Southport early this morning for a couple of others and figured I should take another look. Well low and behold, less then 10 minutes later I had a good looking set of numbers. Not sure what I was worried about a few months back, well it might have had something to do with all the +*/- things going on. Thankfully though once I got into it, it wasn't that bad at all.
So after finding another cache by the CO this morning I headed over to a very quiet area and soon found a suitable parking spot. I looked on street view last night and picked out a potential hiding spot and guess what? I was bang on.
Stoked to have solved and found this one, thanx again E

Monday 24 April 2017 - a superb sunny Autumn day in the mid 20s starting at 7am walking MuggleDaughter to work then bike riding more than 30km over 8 hours to find 31 from 34 caches that included 1 EarthCache and 1 mystery cache. Work on this puzzle about 5hrs with MuggleSonInLaw and MuggleDaughter and finally hit the jackpot at 11pm last night. Quick and easy find today. TFTC E(:

Yay! Not first honours- but single second to find! Quite happy with that! Will tell the CO later - solved it ! Thank you for the cache!

Joint **FTF** with Snickersallan. After a late lunch at the Brickworks with family to celebrate a birthday decided to call on Snickersallan for a cuppa as the rest of the extended family had other plans. While sitting down for a cuppa checked emails and wow there is a new puzzle in the north of the Gold Coast. Well all slowed down after that as it took ages for us to crunch the numbers. Finally solved and off we raced hoping for the clean log and yes it was clear. Signed and heading home.

18-Mar-17
Joint **FTF** with joojoo57 just before sunset.
Received the call to come into Southport for a cuppa and to work on a puzzle so I put down the paint brush, had a quick clean up and change & I was on my way. Took us a while to work out the numbers but they all came together in the end and once new co-ordinates were put in it didn't take us long to get to GZ where we were quite surprised to see a nice clean log. Thanks E(: and TFTC Smile
