Logs
As the CO has not responded to my request for action, this Earthcache has been archived.
This cache has become quite problematic.
- it is unavailable for much of the time
- there are several Needs Maintenance logs which have not been addressed, one of which relates to incorrect coordinates.
- it seems to be located on private property, or property that the council has permitted to be used by a business.
Earthcaches need to be available most of the time, and the other issues need to be addressed.
I'll disable it, for now, and check back in 30 days to see if the CO has responded.

Looking at my cache map, two things are obvious; CBD is cleared of all caches, but next door Glebe has a large cluster of caches beckoning to be found.
With today being the start of a warm sunny weekend I drive to Glebe and cycle my way through this suburb.
During my 3 hours ride, I covered 14 kilometers, 22 Founds, 2 DNF and 1 labcache. I was surprised by the old charm of this area with its sidewalk cafes, parks, and wonderful old residential houses.
This was quite a challenge. The nearby restaurant has obscured the wall with a massive pop-up tent and cafe. Standing on the side, on the steps I tried to look down and collect the answers given. Using my camera to zoom in on some of the rocks was doable but not sure of all the answers though.

With a tent and cafe directly in front of the required area, this cache is impossible to find during trading hours. This has the honour of being my 1,500th DNF.
It was a beautiful autumn day for caching and you wouldn’t know there was a covid outbreak. Snapped a picture to solve from my couch at home later TFTC
I have made note of the location and information and look forward to visiting once we arrive on vacation. Thanks for the cache!
Was lookign around for some caches to grab on my lunch run and I noticed a lot of feedback on this one about the Coffee cart and the view being blocked. Well a public holiday of all days seemed the best bet to get this one undisturbed and in daylight. Seems that was the right plan, managed to get the necessary information and answers sent. TFTC
This cache is now almost completely inaccessible at most times of the day. I really think the CO should consider relocation, or another way to solve this cache. The wall is completely covered by the coffee cart and all the items that go with it. See attached picture
Also, coordinators have still not been corrected. They are about 30 metres out. Not everyone caches with a phone and can check images, so coordinates need to be correct.
I mentioned this in a log way back in October, and others have mentioned this too. I don't understand why this hasn't been corrected. No need to visit the site.

Yup, coffee cart was back, and doing a roaring trade too. However managed to find a vantage point from which to collect the data which has been forwarded to CO.
Didn't try the coffee but TFTC and, of course, the geology lesson rinsemesocks

Answers sent to CO. Lovely spot down in Blackwattle bay, never been here before, very interesting spot.
On a geo-stroll in the general direction of Leichhardt, I hadn't looked too closely at the caches on the way but I knew there were lots of green dots so an Earthcache was a nice surprise. But I will need a bit to study my photoes and get some words together, so thank you CO for the 7 days grace. Will e-mail soon.
The area of interest is about 30m south of the listed co-ords, but when I went there was some boards leaning up against the cutting. I didn't want to be busted moving things around so I got in with some quick photoes. Nice looking rock! Also a loo here open during daylight hours which is handy for anyone on bit of a long walk. Lovely area around here with great views. TFTEC!

My GPS doesn't display photographs, so I didn't know where I should be. As it was, the coordinates were to the left of the path, among the long grass, going up to the lovely old house. Google has the coordinates in the same area. Now sitting at my computer I can where I should have gone, and it was nowhere near mine or Goggle maps' coordinates. DNF!
Disappointing the coordinates are wrong.

Great location and fascinating geology in Sydney that I never knew of before. Thanks!
This was a tricky one due to the coffee ️ cart being in the way
The coffee was .... ok , but was able to get a close up view of the rock.
Stunning location

What an excellent feature in the rockwall. Today was a lovely day for a lunchtime stroll around the foreshore. I missed this spot on the way out, and so was very pleased tp come this way back. Fascinating to touch something that was 200 million years in the making. TFTC.
Found a my night stroll around Glebe.

Day out around Balmain for an (as it turned out) unnecessary maintenance run, took advantage of grabbing a few newer listings since I was last up here, at the same time. Constant and intermittent rain cut short the full day’s agenda but the chance to re-visit the Blackwattle Bay walk (a very familiar area next to where my brother used to live), combined with an EC for BF7, was too tempting to pass. TFTC Thank you for hiding this cache. You have shown us a new place and have helped make geocaching an enjoyable activity.

It actually took me ages to find the spot; I had to get my phone out to find your photo. Selfie attached; Answers on the way post cruise. Thanks.
It's been a bit too long since I last went caching so thought I would come down this way and do a nice walk around Glebe Point and Blackwattle Bay. Apart from a couple I was muggled out of it was a successful journey with 14 finds for the afternoon. Nice to break the journey with an earth cache, will get the answers through soon. Thanks rinsemesocks.
Assuming travel comes back will be here in a few weeks - will try to work around the cart!
Dropped of my daughter at UTS and decided to leave the car and started walking, first the immediate area, then I wandered off to black wattle bay, followed the water for a bit and returned to Ultimo via Glebe. Although the weather wasn't that great it made for good caching. Enjoyed all the little alleys and shortcuts i could take by being on foot and already decided to go the same way next time! I am attending a conference here in Sydney and today I go out early to get some exercise and a few caches before the lectures start.
I pick this park and am not disappointed: a really nice area to get some exercise and enjoy the views and the sun shine. I befriend a little dog that doesn’t want to follow its owner anymore.... She doesn’t look as if she treats her dog badly at all though. I guess he just had a crush on me.
As I love earth caches, I go for this one first and then try for a few near here. I don’t find all of them of course, as usual.
I do examine the layers here and have submitted the answers via the message centre.

Found this one today- a little away from where the GPS wanted us but the picture helped narrow things down. After touring Pyrmont all morning we had seen our fair share of sandstone today- quite interesting to learn about the geology of the area from several caches. Answer sent- hope they are right! TFTC
Came to this one with Baktrak and pondered the geology, and enjoyed the watery surroundings.
Some remarkably unique houses nearby too, from a wealthy past.

TFTC from the viking. Lovely winter' s day for a walk around this part of the harbour. An interesting little spot that would normally never be bothered with - thanks for pointing it out,
Came by on a very nice morning. Took a minute to find the right location as my gps went to the other side of fence. Love looking at the sandstone. What a great area! TFTC Cheers from Alaska!
The family and I are down from Brisbane visiting Sydney for an extended weekend trip. While the rest of the family had a lazy morning around town before heading off to Bondi, I headed off bright and early on a chilly winter's morning to grab some more caches on my to-do list.
After being muggled out on a number of caches earlier in the morning it was a relief to find a cache where I didn't have to give up because of crowds (although it was quite busy on the walk way this morning). Another fine example here of the interesting sandstone layering visible in many parts of the city we have visited this trip. TFTC

Arrived around 4:45pm. Answers collected and formulated and CO emailed at 5:05pm. #571. My second Earth Cache today logged after work. Another excellent area hidden away with an exceptional view of Anzac Bridge. I set up my work book and jotted down the required information whilst muggles sauntered about all around me. Another nicely organised Earth Cache. Спасибо! תודה! L’chaim! TFTC!
Today I do a very long walk and visited this earth too. As the tide was low, I can see a many little crabs (or something like that)

Sunday caching in Sydney. This was one of the caches found during an on-foot tour in the area.
A little bit of back and forth, then consulting the online image to get ourselves where we needed to be.
I visited here with team cacher zboy wonder who was good enough to submit answers to the CO on both our behalves.

Back on the road again for another international trip. This time to Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan and South Korea.
Like our previous trips we focussed on old caches, high favorites, rare cache types and pretty locations.
Most of the trip was together with Plaguerider, Zanna and FLtravelers, but some of it I did solo.
Logs were signed as DATT (Do All The Things) and if there were answers, we typically sent them as a group.
Thanks for maintaining the caches for us.

**Trip log:**
Found during Team DATT's (Do All The Things) annual international caching trip consisting of FLtravelers, PlagueRider, waterfan5 and myself. Africa kicked it all off back in 2016, with a follow up European tour last year. I tried to pitch Asia but the pull of the Great Ocean Road and completing our 6th continent was too strong, and we landed on week long road trips through both Australia and New Zealand. Before meeting the team in Sydney though, I was able to schedule some layovers in Asia (Beijing, Bangkok and Singapore), so in the end of I got a bit of everything. =)
**Australia Day 2 - Sydney -> Canberra:**
We departed Sydney and headed down the coast to Kiama to visit some blowholes. It was a busy day with lots to see. Our main target was Wasp Head to get the oldest earthcache in the world. While not the Great Ocean Road, the coastline was still really beautiful. We used up all the daylight seeing pretty things then made the drive to Canberra for the night.
**Cache Log:**
We detoured a little west of our hotel to grab this earthcache before leaving Sydney. Lots of morning runners out and about. Answers for the group have been or will be sent soon.

We’re on our annual international geocaching trip as Team DATT (Do All The Things) comprised of FLtravelers, PlagueRider, waterfan5, and zanna. This year we chose to explore Australia and New Zealand. Zanna and I decided to do a two-day stopover in Beijing, a three-day stopover in Bangkok, and a 12-hour layover in Singapore on our way to meet up with the rest of the team in Sydney.
Once we got the Team back together, we made a “bee-line” to Lane Cove and various caches around Sydney. Then we headed down the coast on A1. After visiting Wasp Head, we headed up through Canberra and down M31 to Melbourne, after a webcam stop on Mount Buller.
We had a great time in Melbourne, which is my favorite city in Australia so far, then onto the Great Ocean Road, the highlight of Australia for this trip. After a couple days (not nearly enough) we left the ocean road and headed up A6 towards Victor Harbor (webcam) and Adelaide (webcams) for our flight to Auckland. Seems we found every webcam in Australia.
We targeted old caches, highly favorited caches, earthcaches, virtuals, and of course webcam caches, and anything else that got our interest along the way. Logs were signed DATT. Answers, where required, were sent by one of the team members. Thanks for adding to the enjoyment of our trip with this cache. Great spot. TFTEC!

This morning I came by the light rail and walked around the harbour foreshore at Glebe. What a great view of the Anzac Bridge! It was so pleasant on such a hot day to be on the harbour shore.
I stopped beside Bellevue Cottage, a beautiful historical building in Blackwattle Bay Park, Glebe Point and examined the sandstone, not something I've done before in this part of Sydney.
There used to be a nice little restaurant in the cottage and there were lots of historic photos of this part of Sydney on the walls but sadly its closed down now. It was a magnificent setting to enjoy lunch.

Felt a little bit dense searching for the rock cutting at the given coordinates (which put us in the bushes), but finally found it closer to S 33° 52.288' E 151° 10.089'. Had a read of the description then a look at the cutting, then took a photo to reference when answering the questions later. Great views of the Anzac bridge from nearby! TFTEC!

Feeling ill today but needing a cache find for my streak I waited until 7pm before venturing out of the house.
We parked close by and had short walk to GZ.
I've passed here many times but didn't ever pay much attention to the rocks - I was always looking at the view!
Today, I gathered the required info and took a few photos.
My mind always boggles when I think about the creation of this planet.

My goal for caching in 2017 was to have five finds per calendar day - representing one find per year in which I have cached. Looking at stats for Australia, calendar loops aren't something a lot of cachers have accomplished. Surprisingly, just eight finds on each calendar day get you in the top 10 - and my five are good for top 15.
Today is the final day on which I need a find (yes just the one) in order to meet that goal. Of course I want more than one find today, but it's getting harder to make more than one or two finds in a small area within 40 kilometres of home... Tonight I'm going to the Sydney FC match with Geoson #2, so finds closer to the ground would be nice.
Then I noticed that the recent hides near Blackwattle Bay would be perfect. So made my way there and took a walk around the water's edge.
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
Short walk from my last find.
Looked at the feature at GZ and formulated my answers. As always I'm never 100% sure of them... They have been sent to the CO for validation.
Interesting. Never really considered this aspect of sandstone before.

I am in town with a few hours spare before I need to be in the rocks for beers at 3:30 and got it in my head that I would walk my way cache to cache from Lewisham into town. It's probably for the best that I have no step counter or I might doubt the enjoyment I've gleaned from my jaunt.
This was find number fourteen for the day.
I was really enjoying blackwattle bay and as someone with an interest in geology the earthcache here was a must visit. It took me a minute to find the feature, but once found I instantly understood what was required of me. I appreciated having this pointed out to me and inspired me to head over to Pyrmont next to check out the old quarries. Answers to the questions have been submitted.
My thanks to the cache owner for being my guide today. Cheer cheer!

I appreciated having this pointed out to me and inspired me to head over to Pyrmont next to check out the old quarries. Answers to the questions have been submitted.
My thanks to the cache owner for being my guide today. Cheer cheer!

I sat down nearby and had lunch which gave me plenty of time to contemplate the origins of the sandstone, as well as admiring the view. Great location!
This morning I had a very enjoyable walk around Blackwattle Bay picking up a few caches along the way. The walkway was very popular with walkers, joggers, mums and prams and dogs. Thanks for the geology lesson rinsemesocks.
I need to log caches in order, otherwise I get confused. Answers will come soon. Thanks rinsemesocks for another solid Earthcache in a great spot.
Had to dig deep into the old geotech knowledge but it came back with raindoctors help. Thanks for the earth cache.
Thank you for this learning exercise. Have passed this area so many times and not really noticed this area tucked away.
I visited this morning. The skinks were all over the rock trying to get warm - which would have been easy given the warm sunlight striking the rock/wall. Message sent with the answers.
