Unexpectedly muggly for such a quiet-looking street. I spotted a possible location for the cache but it wasn't there or anywhere else I could think of.
I just had a look before school and couldn’t find a thing lol
It’s still my first time using geocaching tho so it will prolly be easier for experienced people

Out and about looking for a quick find during my lunchbreak, but no luck finding a cache here today.
Fantastic extended caching weekend with evilC! We did not consider the oddness, but located the cache quickly. TFTC!!
Lucky no muggles around. Took awhile, and a cut finger, to get it out from where it’s wedged!!
Quick and easy find after a walk from Dwight's Outdoor. Nice to have a good logbook by the comments.

I had been planning on a different (less convenient) cache find today, but various family issues got in the way and I didn't in the end have time for a long walk. Looking for a quick park and grab to fill a dot day I noticed the bit in the description saying this cache was on borrowed time: I don't think 'mothballed' is a term I've come across in relation to a cache before, but if a cache owner no longer has time or inclination to look after a cache, or has moved away from the area, then it does make some sense . The last couple of log entries had indicated that the log was damp, so I had already decided I'd replace the log if needed once I found the cache. I always carry cache supplies for such eventualities: I know I greatly appreciate it when people look after logs on my numerous out-of-the-way caches that will save me a great deal of time.
The street was quiet this morning when we parked just up the road and Mrs B did a SuDoku in the car while I searched. Once the GPS had settled down a bit I soon found the cache, extracted it and took it back to the car for some TLC. The old log scroll had become pretty wrinkled, though it seemed nice and dry to me, but it is certainly falling apart. I have replaced the old log with a couple of sheets of waterproof paper inside a plastic bag: dampness should no longer be an issue, and the waterproof paper doesn't fall apart like normal paper either. It would be a shame for one of the few caches that can be easily found around the streets of Upper Hutt to be archived just because it needed a new log. So, provided it doesn't get muggled, this one ought to be available for finders for several more years.
I hope CO doesn't mind that I have removed the manky old log. There were a few people who'd logged the find online, but didn't sign the paper log, and a few illegible signatures too that can't be matched up to online logs. I won't throw the old log away just in case CO wants to see it: if not, perhaps you could send me a message via the Message Centre and I can bin it?
Thanks for the cache.

No worries here, just had to wait for one muggle coiuple to wander around the corner. Cheers
By now the sun had set and I was still on my evening walk to find a cache or two. The hiding spot wasn't too far from where we were staying for two nights, and I didn't think I'd have another chance to get to this the next evening. Thus, onward the march.
The streets were quiet at this time, and with just enough light to make out a few features I managed to strike it lucky in this spot. The GPSr helped, and with a bit of experience I guess I checked the right place quickly.
Log sheet wasn't in great shape, but I managed to get a name on it. Then it went back where I had found it. One more cache to try for, but as it turned out, I had no luck there, even though I'm sure I was in the right place.

Found, wasn't quite where expected and hard at night. Needs a bit of maintenance log was damp
In Upper Hutt for work this morning. Made a slight detour to look for this one before starting home. A quick find. #2677. TFTC.
# 273 Haha Mum tried to do the GSAK thing and stuffed it up! This is my actual bulk uploaded log! I would have found this one with my mum Gr33nslime! Im sure I had fun, i especially like finding toys. I hope to have more finds than weeks alive! Thanks to my mums obsession for geocaching... Cheers for the cache.
# 1644 So with a lot of planning, this cache finally gives me the final gemstone in the mystery at the museum challenge. I had been putting this local one off because well, it was a local but also because it is in a very open and vulnerable spot, as i proved today. Had to wait for the neighbor across the road to reverse into his driveway before making the find. Then I think the fact it took me years to cram that unsuitablely large plastic bag back into the tiny container, while hiding by my car, drew his attention some more. So off I go around the block before dropping it off again. Surprised this one has lasted so long but cheers anyway Newzealandtrips2001.
Had one look where we thought it would be to no avail and then widened search and spotted it. TFTC.
A nice and easy grab this morning. There is plenty of log places left for future cachers.
A quick easy find in what could be a nondescript location, until one reads the cache description. TFTC
TFTC... A bit more of a gap then a crack but overall a great cache needs a bag and log replacement as it is too much of a struggle to get it back in the cache. will message owner...
Find #2894. A 44km round trip from Silverstream bridge to Birchville, on the bike, collecting random caches as they appeared on the gps.
Remarkably busy for such a short street. Had to out wait cars, walkers and dogs. SL TFTC

Day 3 -Wgtn Mega Sunday - Upper Hutt
We are up and on the road at 6.30. Time to check out some local caches before joining the Etherlord Clan. This was just up the road from our overnight stay. Quick snag and tag. Cheers
The Seagnoid, Zara and I are on another epic caching adventure for the next two weeks, starting with the Wellington Mega, then East Cape, Taraunga, Waihi, Rotorua and back to Wellington. Its been an awesome journey, over 2500 klms later, visiting many amazing places. Thanks to all COs

I can't remember what we were doing here. I was with taybeedragon, but where were we going? Later we split up - she joined the team doing a pilgramage to the old cache in New Zealand, and I to the oldest hidden month I had yet to find. Maybe (probably) we were just filling in time waiting for 9am and the venue to open.
Anyway, we got here. The inscription on the lamppost was interesting. Way it the log? final coordinates? Neither, as it turned out.
---
Day 3 of my Mega trip: Upper Hutt, the day after the Mega. Two weeks of travel with Taybeedragon, from Blenheim to the 2018 mega event, then on to my mum's eightieth birthday in Rotorua via the East Cape and Tauranga and the hole in the ground that is Waihi, Dropped the dragon off in Wellington while I continued on to Motueka for more family time before at last arriving home. We may have only found 230 caches over that 3000 km, but I qualified for 4 badge upgrades, hit the 10,000 cache mark, and even have a missing month ticked off! Throughout most of the trip we targeted special caches - earth caches, virtuals, wherigos, etc, althought there were a lot of traditionals too. On the cache maintenance side about eight caches were replaced, and many more logs were added to or replaced. Many thanks to everyone who made this an awesome trip!

Interesting street arrangement.
Another Mega and the inevitable list of cache finds to log. Not really a chore, just time consuming for this old geriatric. My apologies for the repetitive logs but I will attempt to add a few additional comments as I go. Had a great two days. Catching up with other cachers is always great. Day one was mainly a solved puzzle collection with little blue hen and Kiwicouple. We also squeezed in a few adjacent traditionals and a couple of multis while participating in the CITO event in Trentham Memorial Park. Quiz night was a fun event after a very tasty roast dinner and we were happy to finish only 4 points behind the eventual winners. Day two little blue hen and I gathered a few more traditionals that we hadn't done close to the Mega centre. A few coffees, a favourite point or two, some frustrating searching at one or two and then off home for a rest. Thanks to all the COs for making it another fun weekend. Now to prepare for the Melbourne Mega in November. TFTCSL

Wandering not too far from my hotel this early morning, it's quite early and warm. When I get back I'll be getting ready to head our for a big day of caching with rustynz and Rebel98. This cache all good here today.
A quick and easy find. Thanks
Found on a day spent driving up and down the Hutt Valley, finding a cache or two.
Thanks to all CO's for placing and maintaining their caches. Cheers

In Wellington for WENZ 2018 Mega Event. Nice afternoon stroll in the area. All good at GZ. TFTC
I have set myself a goal to get the requirements for the mystery cache The well-rounded cacher challenge (Manawatu) This requires me to get 25 badges 5 of which need to be gemstone badges. So each time I now go out caching weather it is by myself or with fellow cacher I will try to get a least one cache that will help me get closer to my goal
Myself and Scoria are here attending the WENZ mega and while we are here both of us will be going for a eleven cache types in one day which will make for a for a very busy day
We were up at 5 am getting caches that we needed just in case they got muggle latter in the day having a pile of people turn up at ground zero attracts attention
We have gotten the caches we needed, so we have a bit of time to go and get some more caches that require a bit of stealth before breakfast
Thanks for the cache

Interesting. Found with bkj97 on our second day of caching while attending the Mega. Thanks to all who had caches for us to find while exploring the adjacent area. T4TCSL
Ventured up to Wellington this week to partake in the mega event weekend, arriving the day before so we could be well rested.
Now the day of the event we are up at 5am to collect a few high muggle area caches of various types then stealthy traditionals.
A 6:50 am easy find for this one.
That's it for us now until the main event. Time for breakfast.
Cheers.

glad we found this one before it goes
What an elongated weekend with firstly an over night at waikanae and gatherin g in a few caches around there, and then onto the Hutt valley, travelling through to the Wellington Airport to pick up geo son and head to Karori where we stayed for the weekend and I stayed on for a further day or two before heading back up north again. At least the SH 1 was open going home and I I didn’t have to travel over Paekakariki hill which I did on Friday.
I managed several caches around Hayward/ manor park area, Avalon, Lower hutt and then around the coast to Breakers bay etc etc before going to rongotai and then south to Moa point etc. before heading to the Airport.
Saturday we picked up a couple of challenge caches and others on the way up to the Event, getting there in time to register and head to the CITO event. Then a few more challenge caches and trads before heading to the Flash mob. Back to the venue where we had tea and got ready for the quiz night. Which unfortunately went on a little long.
Sun day saw us pick up a long over due mystery cache on tinakori road before heading to Petone and then up to Upper Hutt where we completed the Lab caches some puzzle caches and thee wherigo before heading back yo Karori to have tea with grand chn and family etc.
Monday we went to Zealandia where we completed two more caches before taking geo son back to the airport. I then drove home the next day after the bulk of the traffic had gone.
It was a great weekend and a great Mega event . thanks to the organisers and ALSO thanks to the REVIEWER who alerted CO about the status of the their caches etc so most caches were actually there and not missing. This was a truly amazing effort on the REVIEWERs part. Thank you.

Team BOP have descended upon the Wellington region for the 2018 WENZ MEGA. We have a lot of caches to get through so there isn’t a lot of down time but it's great to meet the locals, CO’s and fellow cachers. My online logs are largely cut’n’pasted because my memory has started to blur many of my finds together so apologies for that. We’ve signed logs as ‘TeamBOP’ or individually depending on log space and time. Lastly a big Thank You to the Team - TNXPro, Davidsonclan, McJandals, NZFlossy, FapandGap & Squirrel Nutcase and to all the CO’s that made this a memorable trip
It's finally Mega weekend!
Found while travelling with TeamBOP to the Mega event in Wellington.

Attending the Wellington MEGA, great to visit here from the sunny Bay of Plenty, these finds have been found with my team members, which include myself, NZ Flossy, Davidson Clan, Squirrel Nutcase, FapandGap, TNXPRO and Philip.Perry and signed Team BOP. (To save room on logs) We are having a blast and gathering lots of smileys along the way. Please excuse generic logs in advance. (as I have saved the template using Cachly) Many Thanks to all you cache owners for the placements. Cheers
In Wellington for Mega with others from the Bay of Plenty.

26th of the day. Interesting description for the cache. An easy find. TFTC.
Quick find on a walk with our little girl. Her first cache. Didn't sign as forgot pen!!
Quickly grabbed the cache and wandered along while I signed. Then retraced my steps to replace it and off again. Been up and down here many times from my friend's place to Upper Hutt. TFTC # 12,936
#5763. Just back in NZ again after a trip overseas. I needed a few caches for today so headed up to the Hutt Valley. The weather was looking a bit dodgy but it stayed fine throughout until driving home. This was to be the last cache of the day and it was starting to get gloomy after sunset. There was a muggle across the street trimming a hedge but I decided to stop and have a quick look. Luckily I spied the cache without needing to do any oddball searching actions and so was able to grab it and sign in a place that didn't have all the eyes of the neighbours on me. Replaced the cache where found. Thanks Newzealandtrips2001 for hiding the cache here.
A,trickyone as I've driven past many many times and each time there are muggles about in this area. It may be a short street but alwaya busy, bit for tonight.....
Managed to pick up quick m easy thanks to good coords.
Cache in good order. Tftc.

I had stopped by here once previously to attempt this, but there were too many muggles around. I was up here on a failed attempt at an FTF so decided to do a bit of a clean up of the area. GZ was reasonably quiet, just a few parked cars right next to it, which aided in a bit of cover. Spotted the cache right away and signed the log. TFTC
A fair bit of caution was required here due to muggles arriving precisely at the moment I arrived and who started to unload items from their car and carry them into their house. I managed to make the grab at a suitable moment and then returned it when they were temporarily out of view. Thanks for the cache.
Came here a while ago and couldn't find it despite about 20 minutes of searching. It's definitely so much easier to find when it is actually there. Haha! TFTC
An opportunistic find while caching around Upper Hutt. I had trouble getting the sandwich bag out of and back into the container. Note to CO: Warehouse Stationery sell small zip lock bags in sensible quantities!

Visited here on a Sunday where I found myself in Upper Hutt seeking out a few of the more recently listed caches. This was one of those.
A straightforward find on this one.
I experienced the same logistical challenge as later reported by gasbottle.
I visited here with team cacher zboy wonder.
Cache in order, log signed, then safely re-hidden, just as found.

With my current visit to the area winding down into the last few evenings, and still having a car at my disposal, I decided to take advantage of the (unusually) ambient weather to head out and grab a few caches. I did a loop from the back of Upper Hutt along Whitemans Valley and back into Silverstream via Blue Mountain Road. A dirty dozen finds for the evening but quite a lot of DNFs too which I see is the norm with some of those caches on that route. All in all a good side trip and just the thing to log them over a cold beer.
