Quick find here, looks like no one has been here in a while. You would never know this was out here.
Found with e.gregory1 as we made our way along the Goldfields Highway on a trip from Adelaide to north-western WA. Thanks for the cache LeoGeo6438!
Found on a trip to Western Australia from Adelaide with FeatherWaite. Today we cached in the eastern Goldfields then headed up the highway towards Leinster. This was a quick find before we set up camp nearby for the evening. Thanks LeoGeo6438 for the cache.
Came on via the back tracks, nice spot I had no idea this was out here at all! Figured exactly what the hiding spot was as soon as the GPS arrow pointed at it! Cache is in good condition. TFTC
We are having a little bit of time off from helping our friends in Nanson we decided to head north to try and collect a few more LGA's and Lab caches and anything else that pops up on screen.
As we arrived we couldsee a lot of remains from a past era and we really enjoyed reading about this area in it's hey day, also it was interesting to read about the damage that introduced plants have done to our country.
We then headed off to gz just in case some one else arrived and happily the GPSr led us straight to gz where the cache was a nice easy find and the log book now contains our name,
We returned everything as it was and we then went for a bit of a look around the area.
Many thanks LeoGeo6438 for the cache,

Today we travelled from Leinster to Leonora. On the way, there were a lot of geocache, witch we looked for. We found all of the caches and saw a lot of intressting things. All owner thanks for the caches !
Day 9 of the road trip - today I'm relocating from Leonora to Leinster and picking up the caches along the way Previous logs had me wondering about the best way to this cache - but in the end it was very easy. This stretch of Darlot Road is fully open to the public - as you head towards the mine site, the track is on the right hand side. There are two tracks, the first leads through a gate and takes you to some temporary housing, instead take the **2nd track** just before Darlot Road bends to the left. This track leads straight to the old homestead. A very interesting spot to wander around. The 'tennis player' really helps spur the imagination around what it was once like out here. Cache was a nice quick find in the obvious place A fave point for bringing me out here. No problems today, TFTC
Could not find it after ages of searching. Have no idea what it would have looked like
Would of never found this old town/Homestead if this cache wasn't here. A bit searching down some tracks and GZ was found. Once we arrived it was a quick easy find. Could go for some fresh bread. Tftc
Found it. Pretty easy find, GPS is maybe a metre out. the road in (darlot road ) now is closed to the public, but the people still need to access Wilson’s patch and this loop trail.
Day 58 of our West Aus Wander finds us in the Leonora area and driving the Darlot Trail.
A surprising location, thanks LeoGeo6438.
A surprising location, thanks LeoGeo6438.
Might have been easier to access this area from the southern end but we came in from the northern end. Got to the Mine - no entry signs and did a u-turn. After reading previous logs we found a track just before the mine road which basically took us straight to the old townsite. Thanks for bringing us to this bit of history.
Heading north to Leinster this morning. Change of plans meant that I had some spare time for a couple of caches.
The track that leads to the location was hard to spot, once found it took me all the way.
No need to go past any of the do not enter signs belonging to the mine.
Great spot!
Thank you for hiding this geocache LeoGeo6438

Good find in a quiet place. I loved the search for the cache while my partner has a look at old treasures. Found a travel bug and will move it along. TFTC
Had a trip out to The historic ghost town of Gwalia planned for some time now and with the wife keen to check out some of the ghost towns and various ruins throughout the goldfields it was sure to be a great trip.
We travelled to Kalgoorlie and then upto Gwalia where we stayed at Hoover House, which is the old mine managers house for the sons of gwalia mine and offered great views of the pit.
We took a day trip out to Laverton and Leinster with a small detour to grab a few caches along the great central road. After our detours from Leonora we dropped back into Kal and down to Esperance for the last night of our trip.
A great trip away and thanks for all the caches along the journey. Thank you to the COs for their caches.

day 2 of a crazy caching exhibition to find a very remote cache. Stopped to grab this cache along the way. Cache found without any problems TFTC LeoGeo6438
Out and about today and a quick glance at Cachly showed this cache nearby. Decided to head over and grab it.
Interesting spot but be mindful of the snakes. Spotted a few hidey holes before find the cache.
LeoGeo6438, Kyzabra found your cache Wilsons Patch, on 18/12/18. The cache is in good shape and we replaced it as found. Thanks for placing this and bringing us to this spot!

Found it. Interesting place but was a bit worried there might be snakes hiding nearby.
Eighth day of our 'loop tour' checking our wildflowers and caching along the way. This was our fifth stop after leaving Leonora heading for Sandstone. Great spot and very novel hidey spot. Thanks LeoGeo6438
This was a typical example of the wonderful places geocaching takes you to.
As we arrived Mr Beetle was more interested in the old EH holden than the cache but I soon had him back on task and the cache container was quickly found.
Then to his delight we wandered over to the nearby mine site where there was an EG holden!!!!
The information boards were particularly interesting and we are loving the caches that we are finding on the loop trail. Running 2000 sheep on 70000 acres just seems so ridiculous to us. Guess we are lucky where we live to have good feed.
Thought the cut out here was a miner swinging his water bag in joy at finding gold but when we wandered over we realised it was actually a tennis racquet and that they had tournaments here.
Just an awesome spot. Thanks for bringing us here and a favourite point from us.

The Big Western Australia trip in 2018. Day 37. Today I continued west to Laverton. I visited Sandstone, Lenister & Leonora along the way.
Another fun detour took me to this old site. It is interesting to see what had been left and what has been removed.
Thanks.

This trip through the Goldfields has been a while in the planning and the main mission was to collect caches in at least another 8 Local Government Areas to qualify for a challenge cache recently set up by megawatt60! I didn’t really have a plan on where I would be sleeping and was happy to throw the swag down once the daylight became in short supply. From Kalgoorlie I headed north as far as Leinster with a few deviations along the way. I then headed west through Mt Magnet and then meandered my way back towards Perth. I had GC and GCA caches lined up and tried to grab as many as I could while passing by. Cheers to all the CO’s for the hides and hopefully I can head back one day soon to clean up the caches I wasn’t able to find on this trip. TFTC

Continuing my pilgrimage to Kalgoorlie after stopping overnight at Peter Denny Lookout, East of Sandstone. I suppose this would be described as a "Heritage Site" but it looks more like a rubbish dump or a scrap yard. A pity that some effort hasn't been made to preserve at least some of the features. I found this one at 12:30 this afternoon. TNLNSL TFTC LeoGeo6438.
It was late in the day when we visited the nearby lonely grave, we had intended to continue on up the highway to a night park up spot. I noticed this cache was not far away and after reading the desciption just had to go over to find it. We had our caravan in tow, luckily an off-roader as I navigated a rather difficult way in. We arrived just as the sun was setting, despite the chilly wind we quickly found the cache and took so magnificent photos. I really wanted to look around more so we decided to park for the night. In the morning we were greated with a glorious sunrise, no wind now so the cold was more tolerable. Again I took heaps of photos and had a really good look around trying to imagine where the tennis court would have been. That bouganvillia plant is a real survivor, the Landrover - well if only it could reveal what it had seen over the years.

Placed logsheet and pencil in cache. Entered details of previous founder and cache was hidden in same location.
Yay! Another (FTF) for this trip. We have found that all the caches placed by this CO are bringing us to places that are well worth visiting. They are well chosen and bring us to places of beauty, geological interest or of historical interest. However, very few of the caches have been well hidden and none have been provided with a log sheet by the CO, as is required. Water had to be emptied from the container before a temporary log could be added. It is just so disappointing to find this situation. TFTC.
