A short stop whilst visiting Blackall, and the cache was a park-and-grab as the description suggested. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks [KerryL62](https://coord.info/PRMK7XT) for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.----------This 1.5 week trip, the purpose was the Queensland Outback Geocaching Muster (QOGM) in Longreach, with its aim to encourage tourism and support in rural towns. Departing from Brisbane on Friday 15/09/2023, I travelled solo taking the northern route through Gayndah, Emerald and Jericho on my way to the event, and then returned through Blackall, Morven, St George, Goondiwindi, and Toowoomba arriving back on Monday 25/09/2023.My Longreach highlights included the two QOGM muster/rally days visiting Muttaburra and Isisford; the Qantas Founders Museum; Stockmans Hall of Fame; Silver Tails Rail Sunset Tour; and the general historical town vibe. Other highlights to/from Longreach included climbing Mt Scoria; Barcaldine's Tree of Knowledge and kayaking in the water park; Blackall woolshed scour; and the smaller intriguing and historical towns that I passed through.During my travel days when I was time-poor, I targeted geocaches that were older in age, high D-T, puzzles/challenges, and rare cache types. In addition, I added 7-8 visited LGAs to my statistics. The scenery was memorable with picturesque sunsets, and a diversity of flora and fauna. There were plenty of kangaroos and wallabies, emus, goannas/lizards, brolgas, hawks, and alas wild hogs, and goats.Today, with Longreach QOGM finishing up, it was time to commence my two-day drive home. After making an early departure from Longreach following the [QOGM 2023 CITO](https://coord.info/GCAAHTW) event, I passed through Barcaldine, Blackall, Tambo, Augathella, and then finished up in Morven where the [Morven Major Munch](https://coord.info/GCAE0HW) dinner event was held. I made sure to see the historical sights like the woolshed scour, murals and drilling setup in Blackall, before playing through the Wherigos and finding puzzles and challenge trail. I extended my day after sunset, and completed the Murweh Triangle (MT) geoart puzzles from Augathella to Morven. It was a fairly full day in warm conditions, but the geocaches placed from previous QOGMs were enjoyable, and it was good to add Blackalls LGA to my statistics.Adventure Labs completed: [The History of Tambo](https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/0c74ee1c-bb7e-46cc-b899-55918a0094d4); and [Augathella Art](https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/a28da373-e575-4d0c-b1f2-14a832b17597).
We are on our way to Longreach for the QOBM event next week. As we missed all the previous events, it is now time to grab some of the caches in the area.
Another big day doing some of the trails in the area.
Stopped off here and found after a short search.
Thanks for placing the cache and doing the maintenance needed, so we can find this cache..

Accompany with DeafVW, DeafCat and DeafPhantom. I am appreciative of them because they are young and have more energy and good equipment as I didn't bring Ladder with me.
Handy one of them can climb so I just stood and watched.
Thank you for organising the cache and hunt.
Sorry about copy and paste.

On the hunting trail with SeasonedBird while on a slow roundabout route to QOGM 2023 at Longreach. After 3 days on the on the JPT trail. Bit of a rest day today clearing out the local caches before tackling it again. A quick find here. It’s a great day for caching.

For anyone making Geo plans, do yourself a favour and visit Australia’s only current Geotour at Ballarat while it lasts: https://www.geocaching.com/play/geotours/ballarat-victoria
And for anyone that can travel to Longreach, Queensland, late September 2023, Google “QOGM” which is the Queensland Outback Geocaching Muster. You’ll have at least 8 or 9 days of pure geocaching fun with around 200 like minded people attending a mix of events and access to over 200 geocaches placed by the QOGM team. It’s not a Mega, it’s better.

Some local ladies were hanging around the gate to the Pony Club, making it very difficult to lurk. Unfortunately I was on foot so moving on to another cache was not a good option.
Finally they said their goodbyes and I was able to start my search - which led me to an open space. Decided to investigate the nearest structure and was rewarded with the easiest of finds. Thanks for the cache

Travelling homeward bound to Busselton from the Townsville Mega, how lost can we get?
It’s been 2 months since the CacheQld mega and we are still in Queensland, that’s still a long way to go to get home to WA
But the fun bit is, finding all these geocaches along the way.
No matter where we park our caravan for the night, it’s always an exciting day to see this great country through the eyes of the local geocachers.
Thanks to all the COs for showing us your favourite spots along the way.

My GPS wasn’t working at all here so lucky that Swearah had the goods. She spotted the cache quickly as we arrived at GZ. TFTC!
Found during a trip from Adelaide to the northern tip of Australia on Cape York Peninsula, traveling along the Strzelecki Track to Innamincka, out to Noccundra and through Quilpie, Blackall, Barcaldine, Hughendon and Ravenshoe to Cairns, then out to Weipa and up to the top. Based myself at the Barcoo River Camping Area at Blackall for two nights, heading out each day to do a circuit of caches in the area. Thanks for the cache KerryL62!
Looking for something to fill in time whilst not studying, it was suggested that I finally get around to logging THOSE caches long found but never logged. Some even have funny stories of being visited not only once or twice, but a few even have had a third or fourth visit before realising I've been there and done that. The date is as near to the correct day the cache was found. So, sorry for the generic and late log.JABs.The full story can be found herehttps://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?LUID=c74de4cf-b59f-4ee4-9b5a-63ff0fc061ea
Enjoyed chatting with a local hoarder down the street & admired his "collectables". Thanks for taking us here. Cheers & tftc
Logging old caches originally found with alphag_25. Now have my own account and logging them separately so that I can claim the finds.
09/01/21 Today caching around Blackall and surrounds. Roadtrip Mackay to Emerald to Barcaldine to Aramac to Blackall to Jericho over the next 3 weeks. Lots of puzzle solving before and during trip. Searched area and found GZ . Replaced and signed log. TFTC SL

I am heading up to Barcaldine region for a week of family time and of course geocaching. Sorry for the generic post. Especially because I am going to find a lot. TFTC
Day eight of my outback Queensland trip and hopefully I will get Blackall completed and be in Barcaldine by the night. Wow there is so much to do in and around this town and some really fun caches. Again I will have no problems in continuing my challenges of a trad a day and a cache a day.
Meet up with Willis007 for an early start, as there is a good deal to get completed today. Plus it was nice to have company on the drive around today. The plan was to do the loose caches , the Evora road trail, wool scour trail, Ravensbourne road trail and anything else as we pass. with most of the hard work already done it was a matter of signing logs today.
All good with this cache and with the log signed and cache returned as found, it was onto the next one. Thank you for placing it here, I really enjoyed the drive around this area today.

This cache took a little longer to find, but got there in the end. Log signed, cached replaced as found. All is well with this cache.

In town for QOGM 2019.We have had a wonderful weekend with friends old and new. Our thanks to the organisers and CO's for all they have done to make the weekend so great.
I've had some technology issues over the weekend so instead of logging in order, I am logging today what I know we have found just to clear the backlog.
All caches were in good order, our TB's visited each cache. TFTC

Sitting at my computer during these Covid lockdowns, I am trying to catch up on a few logs that I haven't sent in yet.
Over the years, geocaching has taken me on many adventures, including interesting destinations all over my home continent of Australia and many overseas as well. It has also introduced me to a diverse group of like-minded caching tragics, many of whom I now call close friends.
Today, I was lucky enough to be out and about searching for caches, something I do on almost a daily basis. This was one cache that was targeted and found.
Sorry for the late log, something I am notorious for. Thank you for adding to the adventure that is geocaching.
Thanks KerryL62 (F=841 H=133) for the cache.
