WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 69 - Swan Valley Perth to Goomalling via Toodjay and Calingiri. After a great time being stationary around Perth it was time to move on. I fund plenty of caches along the way and did a couple of nice Labs in Toodjay before lining up for a very nice morning tea in the bakery. I retired to the Goomalling pub for the afternoon and was joined by Sacada and Aquillus for dinner. we made plans for a day of series caching for the next day before a very cold night.After arriving and setting up at the Goomalling caravan park, I headed out for a visit to the four caches just outside of town. I like a good welcome sign. A bit of a quick trip to get some LGAs and see some sights. The storm certainly made a mess in some areas with broken trees, large pools of water and power outages. The later impacting our movements due to re fuelling constraints. Certainly hot glad to be in the air con for a lot of the time. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC

Found on a trip to the west from South Australia., visiting friends and relatives, checking out the sites and finding caches of interest along the way.

The weather has been really good since I headed north of Perth. There has been no rain and the winds haven’t been too bad. Makes a welcome change from the previous 3 weeks when I was constantly beating my way into strong winds and it rained almost every night! I hope it holds out for the next couple of weeks as I head south end east on my way home.

This was a nice quick find thanks to the hint.

Found it super easy

Heading towards home from a maintenance run we wanted to stop and add smileys to the caches that had popped up since our last visit to Goomalling. This one turned out to be a nice park and grab simply because we were lucky enough to hit on the right spot straight away. We signed your log and returned your cache back to where we found it. Once again we have all smileys in Goomalling. TFTC ROSS1957

On our way home from Baldivis to north of Wubin and back in a nice big loop grabbing caches as we go. Nice to pick up some new ones since we were here last. I love the efforts towns have given in welcoming people to their wonderful towns! Thanks for the hide here ROSS1957

After a couple of nights in Minnivale, it was time to head home picking up a couple of caches on the way. Allied-oz and I picked off a few.
Allied laughed at this one with the backstory of me and possums. Surprised it didn’t surface last night.

Out in the Wheatbelt again for the second consecutive weekend. This weekend the plan was to attack a number of towns in the North Eastern Wheatbelt and attend the FOTT event in Minnivale. It was a terrific weekend. Thank you to all the COs involved in providing entertainment this weekend.

Pulled over just short of GZ and made the quick find of the cache.

Did some maths and decided to leave the last couple of caches on my list for this trip for another time and headed for home pleased with the haul over the weekend.

After conferring with the boss I organised for a leave pass for the weekend, that got extended for a second night, and headed out to the Wheatbelt to join fellow caches.

Day 3 started slowly but got fast quickly, I packed down the tent and loaded up the car before joining a group heading to the top of Kwolyin Rock to grab the cache before hitting the road.

With the slower day Friday this was going to be the big drive day picking up as many LGA’s as possible, I ended the day with 7 new LGA’s bringing the weekend total to 12 ticked off my list and getting closer to my 100 LGA’s by the end of the year.

Stopped in Goomalling for the night and looked to see what caches were about. An easy find given the clue. All Good with the log. TFTC.

We are on a wander around the wheatbelt looking for wildflowers, Not really sure where we are headed but just taking it day by day. We passed through Goomalling and this is the only unfound one we have in the town or it used to be. Soon found the sneaky nano and continued on our way north.

This weekend has been some time in the planning and we were heading up this way to drive the Wheatbelt Way Trail and collect geocaches along the route. We also had GCA caches, Waymarks and Sighters on the radar which should break up the trip nicely. We had no set plans for accommodation and we decided that we would see where we ended up each day to set up camp. This cache was one that we targeted on our mini adventure. Cheers and TFTC.

Happy Australia Day! What better way for a cacher to celebrate our national day than to pick up some great Aussie caches. While passing through Goomalling with ilook4geo, we decided to pick up a couple of caches in The town. This was a very easy find in the correct place and the log soon had both names added to the list. Thank you to ROSS1957 for this cache placement.

Hot and windy for Australia Day, but not too bad. Out caching with goingplaces2 and we had a fairly good day. All found caches had logs signed and were put back properly before we left. TFTC.
