expanded my search here, about to give up when i looked at the bridge again and something was spotted, a bit from the coords but not too much, tftc
I was heading past here and managed to make a quick stop to grab this cache. A beautiful old bridge here - I wish they still made them to look this stunning. The cache was a nice quick find. I added my name to the log and replaced as found. Thanks for the cache
Out with woolwood9 after attending the MEGA in Dunedin.SL *tm/ww NZ* or *tm/ww*.We enjoyed the drive / walk around! Slowly heading back to Christchurch to fly home in a few days time.*Thanks for the fun cache.*
tmann421 and I are heading south after attending the MEGA, dodging as many showers as possibleWe enjoyed all the caches found and thank the cache owners for their efforts in maintaining these for us to findLog signed tm/ww NZTFTC
Third time lucky. Nice to get rid of a blue face but unfortunately today's haul also included some new blue faces. Thanks for replacing.
We headed here for lunch after finishing the river walk series, only to find someone had beaten us to the picnic table, so we sat on the grass. What a lovely piece of history here, and such a shame that it is deemed unsafe to walk across. Thanks for placing this. Found with Debsnz.
This cache was a real surprise. Stopped to look at the bridge, checked phone as it could be a likely spot and found that I was almost standing on it. Checked a couple of objects before finding the right one. So thanks for a real bonus cache. Only problem was to find it again to log. Will have to take a screen shot next time.
Ive been wanting to stop off at this historic site for years and finally got to it today on the way home from Dunedin.A quick easy find near the main road. TFTC
This avo's mission was to try to locate and sign off some caches out in the boondocks behinf Macraes gold mine. The coords are a little out but take note of the hint.Cheers for the cache, erninz.
Great spot on the way home from work, no luck, pretty thorough search without jumping too many fences, including a 15m radius walk, to no avail
Seems to be a creeper this one. Didn't find as I didn't have time to search the whole picnic area. Maybe next time
Found by way of Dunedin.Greetings from the Czech Republic and Thanks For This Cache.

This one was really frustrating. We double and triple checked all the hint items where the coordinates took us when we had given and headed back to the motorhome did we find it about 15m from gz. Thanks for the placement.
I didn't do a complete search because there was some healthy looking hemlock growing at the most likely spot and I didn't have anything to knock it back.
Last cache of my slow trip from Clyde back to CHCH. 100% sure i've found the older cache that used to be here back in the day.
Well this was interesting as Natalie wandered where I was off to. GPS had me in one place and the cache was about 19 metres in another direction...and 2 of them as well. So we took one away and left the log in the container as one must have been a throwdown It didn't fit in the container where we found it, so now the cache is water tight again. Not so sure where the container should be so we left it where we found it. Co may need to check on this one when passing. TFTC erninz Loved the bridge here btw! Last cache for the day. Twentyfour in total.

We are on a caching trip to Dunedin . Picking up few caches along the way.
It took us to the fence line as well. Thanks to the previous cacher. We managed to find it pretty quickly then. Coordinates were 15.6 mts off for us. TFTC.

After spending time (and caching) in Ranfurly and Naseby I was now heading via the Pig Root to North Otago. This one was my most frustrating search all day! The coords seem to take me to the fenceline. Checked more than 15 posts without success! Was expecting to be recording a DNF, but an earlier log indicated the coords were out by possibly 17m! A further search turned up the goods.
It really should have been a very simple find. My coords at the actual hide were indicating GZ was 19m away. #4965. TFTC.

Found both containers today Feb 23 2022.
On last day of a 6 day camp-out and drive-around in our motor-home.
Have had a long break from Caching - -but now, have the time and the reason to get right back into it again.
Cheers Erni - - -Trying to remember your name, but keep drawing a blank.
I work for FH and spent time in the Waimate office.
It will come to me . .
Cheers and thanx for the cache[s].

Last time it was a DnF thjs time it was two separate containers..
Does that mean a two for one I can see why I missed last time ..
As the co ords are 17 meters out ..maybe a hint change and co- ords up date would be perfect ..
Takes nothing away from the grand old structure.. awesome and still standing
Thanks erninz

We had a dnf here a year or three ago. Today, after reading the logs we found THEM. Yes two containers next to each other. Last time we hadn't thought to look so far from gz. Thanks for the placement erninz
My son had recently accepted a job at Macraes Gold Mine in the chemistry lab. I'm down from Whangarei settling him into Dunedin, exploring the area and making sure he has some warm clothes. Today we were off to see what we could see of the mines. Not much was the answer but an interesting trip up this way anyway.
I noticed this bridge as we were passing and had to stop for a look. A quick check of the phone and yes there was also a cache to find here. I searched around the post but had no joy. After giving up I just thought I'd check behind the sign. Woohoo, got it. This bridge was fantastic and definitely deserves a cache, thanks for the hide

Quick find while heading for Christchurch. Found the original many years ago. Thanks for the cache .
What a lovely spot to stay and then look at the lovely bridge thanks for the hide
Quick find but log etc just sitting out so put in container and plastic bag. TFTC
Out on the pigroot on a roadie nearing Palmeston. Stopped for this one..in an interesting hide just a piece of paper log found under cover waist high, SL and placed back. Recent fencing may have changed the hide? Nice old bridge tftc
The rain eased a little so stopping didn't seem so bad. Tje creek is up from tje deluge over the past few days. Thanks for the cache, erninz.

2020 hasn't been the best year for geocaching for a number of reasons so we decided a road trip from Dunedin was in order.
Caching our way from Palmerston, through Macraes and back to Mosgiel via Middlemarch.
Find count: 2099

The owner of the POP we were staying at in our caravan offered to take us on a tiki tour today so we were out and about. We had told him that we were geocaching the area and he asked if there would be one here as we approached it. Yes we say and he pulls over. GPS leads us straight to the cache which was a wee bit exposed and our guide saw his first cache. After that he was keen to stop for others. tftc
On our way north for Christmas but a wee detour to see my dad on our journey north
Had previously stopped here for a cache so enjoyed to stop again

What a neat old bridge - great to stop and see it - a quick find of the cache - log signed - thanks for the cache and for bringing us here
We love stopping to see these old bridges wondering what they had seen over the years. I often wonder how many of todays bridges will last as long! Thanks for bring us here for a cache.
Heading Up to Queenstown for working and had to find a few caches for the Wonders of the World series. Nice quick find here ?? TFTC
Too much pesticide in this place to stay long. Reading though comments. Maybe it’s been shifted??
Quickly spotted but had to wait for another car to leave before retrieving the cache.

I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these cache. Many Thanks for bringing me here. Cheers.

Together with TEMBO! I had a really interesting geocaching-trip today. We could find some geocaches, met some locals and had a great talk to them.
Concerning this geocache I want to say thanks because we had much fun in searching and finding this geocache! The cache made our trip even more interesting!

Boneybruce and I are stranded south of the Rangitata with both bridges closed, so making the best of a bad situation and checking out some back country I've never been through before, but had my eye on for some time. Just about missed this as we drove by, but another interesting spot to stop and some more history. TFTC!!!

We recall finding the original cache at this attractive old bridge, and today the new cache was a quick easy find. A busy location today, with one camper van arriving as we did, and another as we left. TFTC
So lucky to have this bridge on show. Really enjoying the colors of Central, thyme and Californian poppies. Tftc
A nice quick find today. Last for the day, time to fire up the after burners and head home. Cheers.
And now it is time to head home. Today we started from Alexandra, and travelled through the Pig Root. Once we hit SH 1 No caching! (As there re none left)
Thanks to all CO's for placing and maintaining their caches. Cheers

We also have been here before! Nice to see the upgraded site is attracting passing tourists. Nothing in the obvious place where people had searched. Then spotted it lying away from GZ by a more modern feature, which had been weed sprayed. Hmm. Unconcealed there. So moved it back to the older feature, under rock.
Found on our way home after caching in the area. An easy find made by dakotacats. TFTC
The last cache of the day on the way home after a fun day out with 4Clubs. An easy find at a spot we've visited in the past on caching business. Dropped off a TB that wants to leave NZ, hopefully someone can help it escape. TFTC
Heading home from omakau with trailer in tow so not the best for caching but plenty of parking here so a nice quick find tftc
Checked today and the area has been tidied and the cache gone. Replached the cache and shifted it marginally. The hint remains the same and I will update the coords.
