Great cache! Took me a while but found it after 10-15 mins of searching Fav point

Found this a number of years ago but back today with the younger geobro. Despite having prior knowledge, this was still a tricky find. A much deserved retrospective favourite point added. Thanks!

I can't believe I have finally found this nemesis cache. I had a decent search several months ago, and could not find it. I did the old PAF trick, but the information provided did not help at all, so the quest was abandoned, as Muggle Husband was getting hungry. The cache owner confirmed that the cache was there, so a second visit was required. The search was mounted, and half an hour later I was still empty handed. I don't know what prompted me to try something different, but the next thing I knew, I was holding the cache. This is a brilliant hide, simple but effective, and I can see why it collects so many DNFs and also so many favorites.

17-Jul-23
Checked the cache as there have been some DNF’s including numerous that people have confirmed that they don’t log. Cache is in place and in good condition.

I have looked for this for so long and so often. Still not found. It’s around the corner and the kids and I go there often but still not found

02-Apr-23
I searched for this, but even with the help of Muggle Husband, could not find it. I contacted a chum for a knees up, but even with intel, I still came up with nothing. I will watch this cache.

This took a couple of visits and a PAF before I had my hands on it. What a sneaky cache so well done. I did wait until the muggle chatters moved on before I searched properly though.
Thanks for the fun McTreasure Seekers

Found it, wow what a great hiding spot! Very sneaky. Second cache for me and first with some help from the family. Thoroughly enjoyed it! What an amazing tree! Thanks

Quick detour here before work training in Tarneit. Had a quick look here, no luck. Maybe ill be back one day.

18-Jul-22
Wow!! That was a tricky hide... Very happy I left early for work this morning because I needed the extra time to search for this. Thank you for the head scratching and the feeling of " Nah, it has to be missing".

F.P for this hide Smile

24-Jan-22
Heading through from Montrose to Avalon Airport this morning and making good time, so armed with some good clues from a previous finder, swung by and finally managed to locate this very tricky little hide.
I made such hard work of this, I did briefly contemplate whether I should give up caching and take up crochet or origami instead .

Back again today before work after some hints from a previous finder, but still came up empty handed.

02-Jan-22
Found at 4:26 pm.
Another short kayak trip was planned today with Fleabag- and it was quite pleasant weather which was nice after a couple of hot days. After a couple of caches of the kayak we then just freestyled around a bit looking for whatever we came across.
We searched methodically here and after a few minutes the nicely constructed cache was found. A favourite from me.
Thanks McTreasure Seekers for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

29-Dec-21
Headed out after work to Point Cook, but found the coastal park already closed.
After being muggled out nearby, I headed here.
I spent a good 30 mins searching, trying not to look suspicious, and being attacked by mozzies before admitting defeat.
Another day perhaps.

FINALLY found this one. I have numerous times visited this one as it is a walk from my sisters place. Having inquired for some hints it was still a fluky find. Great piece of camo here and well worth a favourite. Thanks for the great hide McTreasure Seekers

26-Nov-20
This was definitely well worthy of the D4, with 2 of us looking it still took over 1/2 an hour to find the sneaky hide.
Thanks McTreasure Seekers for the clever placement, a favourite point added for the work put into this hide.

03-Jul-20
Thought I would swing by for a quick find after a catch up with friends who lived in the area. After 10 minutes with no luck I checked the activity and realized that night time probably isn’t the best time to be looking for this one. Will have to come back during daylight hours and snag this one!

Came here for the second time and found it in the first 2 minutes! A very creative spot!

27-Jul-19
Hunted for this one today and well, it is not easy. I dare say that is why it is a D4 rating! Made a PAF which narrowed down my search and then saw something not quite right.

14-Jul-19
This was the last cache of the day in a weekend with Dazzpete and juscat that had us getting quality over quantity.
We all rocked up here and I launched into a search as the weather was quite a bit emotional today and could go off at any time, and with a bit of help from the girls, we found the very well hidden cache and I signed my life away on the fresh new blank log sheet.
Man this is a big peppercorn tree, and that is a tricky little cache.
Now its off home up the Hume....
Cheers

Maintenance check after note reported yesterday. Cache is very much dry and in position in excellent condition. Cacher’s may have found an old cache that was muggled 14 months ago and never found.

After finding a cache nearby in Werribee I rode here for a quick look.

Not sure why I haven't stopped past here sooner.

This could have been very easily a DNF.

My initial search was quicker than when I widened my search.

Then I was about to give up.

I returned to my original side and bingo.

What's that??

Few it was a log.

I signed and was on my way.

Teamed up with AlphaDeltaIndigo to grab a few caches around Melbourne but there is always time for just one more.
This has to be one of the trickiest hides I've searched for. i looked high, low, this way and that until after great frustration the hide was eventually spotted, WOW!

The D rating attracted us to this one so enroute to the mega we headed over. The area was muggle free as a bonus. The GPSr did not like the trees so used the sat map as we worked our way around and then something caught our eye and with a little bit of work we k ew it was the hide and completed the signing duties. This is what the joy of caching is all about. I put my hand on what I thought was the cache and it turned out not to be..as luck would have it, that had me bumbling though the tree at the wrong ( right) angle and I saw something in the right position to make me suspicious. It ended up taking us a short time to find, but that was only because I had completely fluked almost falling on top of it. A definite D4...we’d have had much more difficulty finding it otherwise...truly a magnificent hide. And a fav point from us

Up early as I couldn't sleep in the strange bed, where we were staying at the nearby AirBnB. Gave me the perfect opportunity to clean up some of the local caches, while the rest of the family snoozed on. It was a bit showery this morning but it didn't deter me. The biggest issue, was the lack of maintainence done, on so many of the local hides.

Arrived here as it was still showering rain but under the cover of this enormous pepper corn tree, I was able to hunt about not getting too wet. After reading previous logs, I knew this one was going to be tricky and it was far too early to PAF, so I just kept hunting. I was pleasantly surprised, when I made the sneaky little find, after only a relativley short time. Co-ords where almost spot on. A great little hide, for those that like a challenge. Now I think I deserve a coffee.

I am currently writing detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC. "The Author" Badge challenges geocachers to average one hundred words or more in each log. As of the start of 2018 my average was only 47 words per log, which seems a long way from the 100 target. Given that I have found so many GC caches, I have to write many logs with well over 100 words for a long period of time to get my average to the target. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that I can strive to attain this challenge. After over 7000 plus caches (which includes all cache finds up and including yesterday), the average log length is just over 50 words. I am now entertaining the possibility that I might be able to achieve my task before the end of next year. It's surprising how much is has increase since doing this.

Thanks McTreasure Seekers for placing the cache for us to find and doing the maintenance to keep it in play.

With some morning rain we didn't think we would get out for some treasures today but with a glimpse or blue sky, I checked if DAB was good for a few caches and it didn't take long before we were in the car with the little Na'wals and off up the highway. This one had our interest so it was our first stop. There was a muggle about but with our noise and the kids playing, they soon moved off which was great for us as then the search started. We talked about what it could be and moved around to a few different spots. We both moved to the same location and DAB put is hand on the cache. WOO HOO! And wow, what a sneaky cache. Good one!

**Thanks to McTreasure Seekers for placing this cache for us to find and enjoy**

Seeing as the sun was shining this morning, we thought we would make the most of it. A hastily put together plan and I was soon in the company of Na'wal and the junior na'wals !! We have had our eye on a few caches up Point Cook way for a while, so we hit the road. In no time we had arrived in this busy little suburb.
This was our first stop for the day and we were hoping luck was on our side. While the kids enjoyed the park, the adults set about looking suspicious in the trees.... A look here and a look there and something was soon spotted. Now that is a nice piece of work, love it. Glad to be able to claim this bad boy. TFTC McTreasure Seekers Big Grin

CITO at Karkarook... Check. (Many mulch, much wheelbarrow.)

Talinga Arborealis... Check.

Elwood Canal... Check.

(Two spots on the d/t grid filled... Check)

Another fun event and a walk in the sunshine... Sure.

Following the wrong people in convoy. Uh huh.

What do you mean you want to stop caching for food!? The most comically hopeless fast food joint in quite a while... Check.

And now some caching in the dark.

Could have done without the lingering stench that pervaded the location due to someone recently being caught very short, and it really could have been a crappy night's search without the good humour of our raiding party, so that someone's problems became the butt of our jokes.

An apt difficulty rating indeed, even with the benefit of a PAF. Finally revealed by SteMicMitSar.

McTreasure Seekers, a real challenge. Thanks for such fun.

The day ended with a return to the 'Alimanda' for another search that proved almost, but not quite as difficult, even though I'd previously found it. Oh, and the joy of night slides.

This was a painful find after dark. Not only was the camo fantastic and required more than one PAF by a group of us but some moron had decided to use the area as a public convenience for that which cannot be ignored. At any rate after a PAF a find was made and that's all counts.

*21 Jul 2018, Found @ 7:03 pm, Find # 8114.*

After arriving at the nearby event, a short time later a reasonable size group headed of in search of some local caches.
We had found the closer ones on but now it was time to use the car for the next lot.
we decided to check this one out because of it's D/T rating.
When we arrived it was soon reveled that this was going to be a difficult task.
After much looking by all and as well as a PAF, this tricky little sucker finally reveled itself to me.

**Thanks to McTreasure Seekers for placing this cache.**

Find #9675

Spent some time after the C.I.T.O. caching with ADI, LOTW, Jascat, nagrin, L87 and stemic. Now joined by Boatie Tim & AliFS. We started with a couple this side of town before heading to an event in Laverton, followed by a whole stack of random caches in the area and beyond.

This one was a really tricky one, even with so many of us looking, we were on the verge of leaving with our tails between our legs when someone said those magic words.

Many thanks to McTreasure Seekers for the cache. TNLN.

Dropped in to check on the cache and found water damage had seized the lid and the log was wet. Repaired cache and replaced log. Good to go.

06-Jul-18
I think I found it but was unable to open the container. Rather than damage it, I've contacted CO to confirm the find and ask for instructions on how to best open it.
Meanwhile the little cacher spent ages exploring and climbing the tree. She literally ended up out on a limb where she had to jump into my arms to get down, such a wonderful tree!

Wow. That was hard but had a hunch and thought "what if I tried there". Almost gave up after literally touching it several times. Great hide. Thanks

Enroute to oick up Mudbrick to go see the Ned Kelly Armour at State Library and thought a dozen caches on the way.

Yeah - 3! This one took about 20 easy caches - a lot of searching when there are so many places and jumpy coords under the foliage. If this a new hide it's 10 times tricker! A big relief moment once finally found the cache, which I wasn't even sure if it was at first.

Almost got me McTreasure Seekers - almost! Very Happy

Cache has now been replaced in the same location. Difficulty has been increased from 3 to 4 as the cache blends in with its surroundings a lot more to avoid muggles finding it. Please check up high in the tree before you begin searching to ensure there are no muggles watching. Happy caching!

In the area and had some time to kill, I thought I'd try get a cache with a few favourites. Had to drive a few Kms to this location. As I parked and wandered into the location, I didn't realise till I was under the tree and had brushed some branches that someone was sitting in the middle of the tree having a phone coversation. I had to do a quick you turn and decided to wait a little bit in the car before giving up on this cache. After about 15mins I ventured from a different angle and couldn't hear any conversing, so kept circling and slowly looking in before I confirmed the area was vacant.
It did take a while to make the find, but eventually got there. What a nice little hide. TFTC.

The weather looks like it is finally changing for the better so I decided to take the bike out for a spin in an area I haven't been to before so that is how I ended up at Point Cook.

At the GZ there were some muggles nearby but I was still able to get to the tree. After a few minutes they decided to climb the tree so I had to relocate myself until they decided that they should move on.

When I started looking again the GPSr was sending me in circles but in the end I decided to save the batteries and do it the hard way. Luck was on my side...I stumbled upon the cache within a couple of minutes. TFTC.

This was the last cache in the wider Point Cook area that we were yet to find. Not sure why, but remedied that now. Wow what a magnificent tree! The funny thing is I almost bought a property overlooking this park and hadn't even noticed the beautiful specimen; don't know how, its great!
We spent a bit of time searching and circling, to no avail. Put out PAF, but before help came through we had to retreat to warm up as it was bitterly cold. Returned on the way past later and armed with some info we still struggled, eventually finding the cache not where it was supposed to be and rather hidden. Signed, and returned to where it should have been secreted. What a toughie! Good camo and construction makes it very tricky indeed.
Love the cache name - TFTC Smile

With chronic sinusitis and hovering clouds of impending doom, time was against me. Luck was on my side as I found it quick but it took the 2nd time that I had the cache in hand to realise I actually had the cache in hand- yes it is sneaky! Suscoe and the other sister were heading back from the Food and Wine Show at Jeff's Shed this afternoon.
We had a few minutes up our collective sleeves and so we headed off the Highway to see what we could see.
15 minutes between three of us equals 45 minutes of looking time and so we looked and looked and looked and looked.
Time was passing and so with 2 minutes of time left the clever little hide was spotted.
Happiness descended upon the three of us and we were very glad to be able to sign the log for this one.
Thanks to McTreasure Seekers for this hide.

Found by Mary & David at 1245. Wow! Second time lucky. We both came along today, and we were here for another 15 minutes before David investigated what turned out to be the cache. Congratulations on your first hide, and such an evil little beauty. A FP for a clever hide and such a great location. We too have seen incredible changes in this location over the last 50 years, back to when David joined the RAAF in 1962. This area was all paddocks then, and the salt works were still there where Sanctuary Lakes is now. Looking forward to more quality caches in our area. Our thanks to McTreasure Seekers.

David came by while Mary was doing some shopping. Looked and looked for around 30 minutes, but had to leave empty-handed. Our thanks anyway to McTreasure Seekers.

*Today we limited our target area to Werribee & Point Cook as there are more than enough unfound caches such as this one waiting for us.*

Oh what a sneaky little guy! Actually a very 'nasty' piece of work in a nice way. P-P conducted a very close inspection, where the GPS'r suggested, then stepped back and spotted the clever cammo - well deserving of a FP. Another Tackle_head in our midst!

Thanks to McTreasure Seekers for placing this cache.
