Found it but local plantings have thrown lots of grass around in bushes might need sorting TFTC
Day 3 of our Epic Christchurch trip with Reschedule. As we are flying out later today we didnt want to stray too far from the airport, so we targeted a few near by.Unfortunately no paperboats to race. Was looking forward to it
Having solved a bunch of mysteries over the past couple of months, including the night before finding them. A spontaneous trip down was made by Kiwi Does Stuff and team Reschedule to collect some Canterbury caches. We have headed out to set ourselves a personal best for a days caching. The perfect caching wagon (a rental car) has been acquired allowing us to go anywhere with ease. All of the caches have made for an enjoyable weekend to remember and resulted in a solid and best days caching.Apologies for the generic log, all caches signed are a mixture of Res, Resch & Reschedule - a big thanks to the CO for creating, placing and maintaining all of their caches. TFTC!No more paper boat material left!
We have a few nights in Christchurch and as there were some caches near the motel we decided to go for a walk to get them. We ended up covering just under 19km for the day and collected quite a few caches. Unfortunately we did have some DNF's but with any luck they will appear again before we head home from our holiday. Luckily this was well away from where the work is being carried out on the sports/track area and we made a nice quick find here. Log signed off, then it was off to the other side of the green to find the cache over there. tftc#7226
**Day**Doing a tour in and around Christchurch by bike. Nice and easy going on the flat terrain. Just had the webcam cache as main target and doing a lot of tradies and labs along the way. After a while the idea came to make this my day with the most different cache types found. Unfortunately I could not see an event for today but other than that I found: tradie, multi, mystery, lab, webcam, virtual, letterbox, wherigo and earth. That smashed my previous record of 6 and set the new record to 9, very nice! Thanks to all CO's for a lovely day of caching!**Cache**Easy catch, tftc!
Great wee cache - just grabbing the caches around the park while my kiddo plays baseball. Gonna have to bring them back here to race paper boats! Only one boat left. TFTC - good bing it a fav!
Quick find as the night chill’s setting in. Then a wending way home as discovered you can’t walk along Russley. Cheers silverfern7 ️
Lovely little area on this side of the park, thanks for bringing us over here.
Easy find - not too many people around. One feature I didn't care for about this cache was that one had to step into the garden to reach for the cache, and that could easily damage some small plants. Thanks and cheers from Grandalf(2588)
Wow, what a busy wee spot on a random Thursday, early afternoon.
I sat on the seat nearby, watching some happy pups playing and ignoring their owners while I waited for the area to clear.
Had to be stealthy and quickly returned to the same seat to sign and log, trying to look casual
A cute cache theme- B.must be around 7 years old by now!

Nice easy cache on my way to a Multi. Retrieved, signed the log and replaced securely. TFTC
Nice spot. Lovely to be out on international geocaching day, doing our bit. Fifth for the day
This one one of three that we found around this park today. M went to one side while Beeba and I went on the other side of the stream and plantings. M got there first and had it in his hand by the time we got there.
Out for a wander around Avonhead park this morning. All quiet with only a couple of dog walkers in the distance. Quick find and sign. Thanks for the cache.
While completing a multi we stopped here and I was delighted to meet an ex work friend who I hadn't seen for a couple of years. She doesn't live close by any more but used to and still comes here to exercise her 2 dogs. We live closer but I hadn't been here before. Tftc
Out with Greg, hoovering up some local Caches I've missed, or are pretty new. Great day for it. Cheers.
This is a cool idea for a cache. 2 boats are in cache but I left them for younger cachers to have a race. Thanks silverfern7, have a favourite point.
I loved the idea behind this and how cute are these boats tftc left swags, sailed a boat
It had just started to bucket down when we got here but was our last of the day. We walked in this new park for us and found the cache. We were watched by a four legged muggle who lost interest and roamed off. Happy to sign log and replace then back to the car. Thanks for this cache silverfern7.
On a three week trip to the lower south island with tmann421 hunting caches.
Enjoyed the trip around and the challenge of the finds.

I haven't been to this park for ages, but a friends dog needed walking so what better opportunity than this!? I made the find while Wendel was kept busy with the water and a stick and another puppy friend so I could make a quick retrieval, sign and return.
TFTC! All safe and dry here

Quick easy find on a circumnavigation of the park. Lovely sunny afternoon for a walk and the park was surprisingly busy with kite flyers, dog walkers and kids running around. Thanks for the effort that goes into placing and maintaining a cache.
This cache is disabled due to the COVID-19 situation and alert level 4 in NZ to avoid the cross-contamination and to encourage people not to travel.
Any 'found' logs following 28 March will be deleted (unless your find is back dated).

I’d never actually been here before so thanks for introducing me to a lovely park. Tftc
Cute find! Bonbons loved sending the paper boat off on a journey along the wee creek. Thank you!
A quick find on a pleasant walk through Avonhead Park on a sunny afternoon. We folded a small paper boat and added it to the collection. TFTC!
TFTC. Lovely spot and great theme for a cache. It is slow going caching in Avonhead Park as I keep finding people to talk to.
Haven't been to this park since I found previous caches here. That was many years ago. TFTC
#17134. Needed three finds today to get up to 20 for May 7th. I had planned a long lunch time ride, but the weather was drizzly so I decided not to stray far. I'd sussed out the hide on a previous visit, which made for a quick find today. TFTC.
We were not going to bother with trying to gather the 500 points required to complete the set of cache carnival souvenirs but we got chatting on Wednesday night and we realised that a weekend in Christchurch would soon accumulate the required points. A list was made of a few highly favourited caches and we decided to pick up a few easy traditionals if we happened to pass them.
We wandered over to this cache and GK soon had the cache in hand, we signed the log and returned it as we had found it. It was such a cold afternoon which we think is the reason that the park was so empty, only a few hardy souls and a couple of mad geocachers.
Thank you for the cache, thanks for the smiley.

TFTC. Out with kotukuSI for a wee paly on a lovely summers day. This was one of our finds at Avnhead Park. The cache is in good order.
Thanks silverfern7 for placing the cache.

Just as I was walking away from the cache a Muggle asked me if I was caching. So I showed him what to do and what was in the container. He was telling me that one of his friends had a strange hobby as well. He is on the mini golf circuit in the USA and making money out of it
We drove to what we thought was the GZ. Hmmm the hardest part was working out our entry point. A quick walk and we soon had the cache in hand. TFTC
Found as part of Bunny and Lion, love Avonhead Park, went here often as a kid. Thanks!
I decided on a mission to the Avonhead Park area today to grab a few caches. I ended up with eight including two puzzles and a multi so it was a pretty good day.
After a roundabout walk to GZ it took me two searches of the hint object to find it.

In the area today on a lunchtime mission. No problems locating the cache today. Thanks for the cache.
It was a lovely afternoon for a walk in the park. Managed to do this one in-between the dog walkers.
7913. An easy find while in the area. Found several in this park over the years, one very close to this one! Thanks. Rodney.
I'd spent a lovely morning at Willowbank with some young friends; came to this park to solve the puzzle and found this cache as I walked around to retrieve it.
Thanks for placing & maintaining this cache, silverfern7.

#3,185: Paper Smiley!
I came to this one on a wee walk around the nice park with Team_Gaters, searching for an ill-defined mystery cache that was published this morning. Quick pick up!

Arrived at GZ but a groundsman on a ride on mower was mowing the grass very close by. Waited while he finished and had moved on before grabbing the cache. Tftc.
Out on a crappy evening doing a bit of cache love. Was in the neighbourhood and grabbed a few caches. Was able to snag this one without anyone looking from the nearby properties.
Thanks for the cache silverfern7.

What a great idea - I must do that with the grandchildren - they would love it. TFTC # 12,052
After walking over to the car spotting cache, I quickly made my way here. Not so much under the tree any more but still an easy find none the less
We were in the area doing the "All shuk up" series so zipped over to look for this one too. Really enjoy walking in this park. There are still 2 boats in residence. tftc
I remember some big trees around here last time I ws out - no sign of them now. A popular little creek with the dogs, a few getting a bit of cooling off time while I was bikin garound. Cheers
Evening walk with the dog and family at our local park. 2 boats left. Thanks for the find. Kids liked the boat!
