On holidays now so can not check the cache right away. Will be back soon, and I will replace cache if missing. In the meantime, i rather disable the cache to avoid geocachers to waste their time.

We got off here on a water taxi and we're a bit disappointed not finding the prize. Cheers
Found a broken off piece of string at GZ, could this be a tether for the missing cache? The 4Rods.
Found back on the 21/08/17 just before we embarked on our cruise. Clever hide. TFTC
The two logs with wrong dates gave me a false sense of security. Phoscdy and I searched for a while, as the pontoon bounced every which way.
Spent half an hour looking, couldn't find it. Was not as obvious as other logs claimed it to be.
Another detour before the event. Found with Mr Baboon and Seemyshell watching as a previous finder. When he said "I can see it from here", I knew where to look and it was CIH. Another great spot around the harbour. TFTC. Now off to the event.
This is my first visit to Sydney and even to Australia. I found this one together with Michael60 and Catty0902. At 1:50 p.m. we signed the logbook.
Thanks for the Cache.
Thanks for the Cache.
During a lovely sunset at Opera House we looked for this little cache. The sound of the pontoon going up and down along the wooden pole sounded like the calling of a big whale in the ocean. Very perculiar! Needed a little search, but found the cache in good condition. Greetings from the Netherlands!
A nice walk around the Botanic Gardens brought us to GZ. We had a look at the excellent Water photographic exhibit nearby. While there were many muggles out and about, we were the only ones around GZ. A nice place to look upon this fabulous building. What a comprehensive history! SL TFTC Cheers... Gaztek
J'étais avec Bobelidou au moment de trouver cette superbe géocache, mais je n'ai pas pu la logger avec aujourd'hui. We met with a fisherman on the spot. He decided to help us find the geocache and talked to us about his life in Australia and his passion.
Some Googley Trackables started their journey here to go out into the world and visit other Innovators around the world - safe travels!

Find number 9 of 10, in and around Sydney today. We arrived on the first plane from Melbourne, early in the morning. After some breakfast in Bondi, we headed towards 'The Gap'. Once we'd seen those 'new' sights, we headed for some old favourites - the bridge and the Opera House! It was good to find a physical cache here. The weather whipped the water up and it was quite tough going getting off the structure after we had logged the find! Thanks for the earthcache, 2qt2bstr818.

Very exciting cache to find. Many muggles about and a rocking sea. Good hide and enjoyed the find. TFTC
Found this cache before the event nearby on saturday night, but forgot to log it while i was logging all the blue mountains caches i'd found earlier in the day once back at the hotel with wifi. Great to get such an iconic cache, obviously, once i'd worked out where to look and that it wasn't in the middle of the water! Bit choppy out there with the wind tonight and it was quite exciting retrieving the cache. Thanks for placing this one.... i enjoyed finding it and having it turn smiley yellow.
Found during our honeymoon trip. Almost 1 month driving through Australian country.
It was an amazing trip.
Thanks for this cache

Found the cache but not our sea legs. Haven't got a pen so the photo will have to be our evidence. TFTC
GeoGlors and I took our family visiting from the UK for a day trip to Sydney to see the sights and the Opera House was one of them. While they were in awe with the gorgeous building Geoglors and I went to find the cache, a few muggles fishing off the pontoon so we had to be stealthy. It wasn't long until GeoGlors spotted the container quickly grabbed it and we sat down to sign the log, put back in it's hiding spot and back to the stairs. We even decided to do the earthcache while we were there. tftc 2qt2bstr818

DieFraudiemitmuss, Lundi263, Murri24 and I made this year a very great tour together. Our first target is Melbourne. So we started early in the morning to visit the city and to make a few geocaches. We found very nice locations and interesting spots. One day we rent a car. Very early in the morning we drive from Melbourne City over Geelong to the Great Ocean Road. Along this road we found so much interesting spots, we see a great landscape, and had have not enough time for sightseeing. The weather was fine but a little bit windy. This day was very long and hard, but wonderful.
After that we visit the Grampians. A little bit rain, a little bit windy and a little bit sunny day, we had fasten all weathers. We visit waterfalls, canyons, sandstone fomations and any Look Outs. Puhhh, what a great landscape.
The next part of our journey is to explore the Outback. From Ayers Rock we take a car and drive over Kings Canyon and many other Look Outs to Alice Springs. We visit any very interesting Caches and had a great time by comfortable temperature. Then we drove from Melbourne over Canberra, Batemans Bay, Wollongong, The Blue Mountains to Sydney and stayed there for three days.
This traditional Cache we have also found. We log it as "GER-17". Thank you for this Cache.

On our vacation this year, we did a great trip as GER-17 to Australia.
GER-17 are DieFraudiemitmuss, Lundi263, de Eifelaner and murri24.
We started the tour in Melbourne where we spend a few days sightseeing and caching, including some trips out of the City to the Grampians an to the Great Ocean Road.
Nice place to be and to see.
From Melbourne we went to Alice Springs including Ayrs Rock, where we saw some nice sunsets and other great stone formations and spots.
Back in Melbourne we started by car to go to Sydney along the coast with zig zags into the blue mountains and Canberra.
Finally we arrived in Sydney and spend here the last day of our holidays with caching and sightseeing.
During this trip we found this box.

Plenty of muggles about it and maybe even geocachers who were checking the pontoon but didn't locate. Waited til they left and grabbed cache. Quick sign and replace. Pontoon certainly rocking. Thanks.

A bold hide in amazing spot. An easy find with the hint.
Goodness the waves moved the platform a long way up and down today!?!

Great cache. Have been looking forward to getting this cache since it came on line. Planned our visit from the uk last year and was on our wish list. Second attempt cache was in hand.
Tftc ! Lovely view of the Sydney Opera house. A photo for those who wonder how big it is
Yeah awesome location of course and a suitable hide. Thanks for good clue as usually very busy here. All is well. Better, I just got my first Arcticuno in the park! Cheers!
Fun time wobbling around. Finally found the cache , not what we thought. First find in Oz
I confess I was mostly in Sydney today for Pokemon Go, but of course opened up c:geo to see if there were any caches nearby that I hadn't found. This one has been published since my last visit, so I came here at nearly 9pm. The pontoon was empty apart from myself and under quite a swell it was creaking and rocking for a very atmospheric experience in the glow of the Opera House lights nearby. I tentatively explored the hint-matching options but was wary of the dark water. After a few minutes I put down everything that could be accidentally dropped, placing it on the bench nearby. Fortunately my geocaching ManBag contains a torch so I used that to explore and soon enough saw a glint of an unusual colour. Quite a bold hide but it didn't seem particularly firmly attached so hopefully the motion of the pontoon won't dislodge it. A fun find and I doubt I would have even noticed this structure without the cache here, so TFTC!
Initially we could not believe where the GPS was pointing however we made our way to GZ and with considerable stealth we were able to make a grab and a successful return under the gaze of some serious photographers! We had to wait a little while for one with his Nikon/tripod/lens to Nick-off!
Thanks 2qt2bstr818 for our little adventure.
Thanks 2qt2bstr818 for our little adventure.
I began the day taking advantage of the early bird parking rates, which meant geocaching at 7:30am. Not a problem for the seasoned veteran geocacher.
This was my 1st stop as I thought, why not grab it before things got busy around here. I was able to get within about 40m, but there were muggles working nearby, so I decided to come back later.
Upon second arrival, I had to sit and ponder where things were going to take me. One false move and my holiday, along with iPhone, wallet, and gps, would be drenched. I carefully made my way over to where I thought the container was, saw something sparkle, held on and made the grab staying dry. I returned to my seated position, signed the log, then repeated the necessary steps. Looks like others also made the grab today.
Thanks for the somewhat rocky challenge.

My first cache in Australia. I'm lucky to log it at such a famous place/building. When I'll see pictures of Sydney Opera in the future, I'll connect it with a very beautiful day and my 225th Cache.

I had a lucky escape here, with bikerbuddy's seasickness coming on at just the right time to thwart someone from stealing my wallet. That will teach me to be more careful.
Anyway, there weren't that many places a cache could be, and it didn't take too long to check each of them & find the cache.
Thanks

This was our first traditional cache of the day, attempted after working out some answers for the two Earthcaches at the Opera House by the same CO.
I've never paid much attention to the Man O War steps and their pontoons, except years ago when I saw a guy and his girlfriend do a guerrilla nude photo shoot on the pontoon before gathering clothes and scooting real quick.
Today was a different experience. I suffer badly from sea sickness - I am very susceptible to any bobbing boat which is not moving through the water - so the pontoon was not a good place for me to be, especially looking down, trying to find a cache, with the sea rising up and subsiding, and the pontoon doing its own thing in roughly similar, but not quite coordinated motions.
As it turned out, my condition was to be lucky today. We walked onto the pontoon and no-one was about. We dropped out bags at the seat and started to look for the cache. Then I decided that I really didn't like the movement. Toriaz said she would keep looking. I turned to head away, when I saw a guy at our bags. Right next to them. He whipped out his phone and started taking photos of the Opera House. I stood and watched him, waiting for the moment when it became obvious to him that I was just staring and that I knew what he was doing. He put his phone back in his pocket and looked at me. That's when I started moving towards him, and he left the pontoon about as fast as those creative photographers from years ago. Toriaz had left her handbag open, and her wallet was in plain view. That's when I decided to mind the bags. It was only a moment later when she declared she had found the cache.
Thanks

I must say this is one of the boldest locations in the city to hide a cache. Although misspalot was in fine form and spotted it quickly, it was a very good hide too.
I was in the area for some kind of musical performance thingy at the nearby building, when I noticed that there was a new cache nearby. It was a reasonably popular spot nearby today with a few people coming and going, but after a bit of a think I spotted the cache in its hiding place.
TNLN - Thanks 2qt2bstr818!
TNLN - Thanks 2qt2bstr818!
Misspalot has been on caching fire lately. After attending an event with rassilon256 and misspalot in Kings Cross we did a lovely walk through the botanic gardens to here. Misspalot found the cache easily. I thought I looked there?! I think the only person comfortable underfoot at this location was rassilon256. I needed a seat. On the ground.
That was one wobbly cache! Walked through the Botanical Gardens with rassilon256 and raindoctor after attending the Pirate event in the morning. A fairly wobbly return to solid ground after the find too!
I tried finding this cache with several other people at night with no luck. Went back to the hotel and read about it and made a quick find today. A man was fishing at GZ and he asked what I was doing because he's seen many people searching here. I tried explaining it to him but he said he couldn't hear very well. There was a guy standing behind me watching us so i asked him if he was a cacher. He said he's done it before with a friend so he signed the log, too. He knew all about TB's racing around the world. Anyway, great location and I was fortunate enough to see a performance at the Opera House where coincidentally my friend's daughter, also from San Diego, was singing in an international youth choir. Thanks for the hide!
TFTC. Great spot. Had to come back a second time as a fishing muggle in the area first time round!
Out for a lunch time jog with this one as my target turnaround point. Hit the GZ where an old fisherman was nearby but more interested in his empty nets than a sweaty jogger having a stretch. Found the cache quickly, hold seems a bit precarious, but reading the description I think this is known by the CO. Didn't have pen so have left a space in this busy log for someone else. May comeback another day to complete SL duties. In the mean time I can give a nice description if necessary. TFTC another nice one from CO 381
Very excited to be at the Opera House! I had the amazing pleasure of playing in the Concert hall last night! Had to find this cache, in memory of a wonderful week! TFTC.
Goodness its been busy at this cache today!
I was the first one early this morning while waiting for a friend to arrive from interstate I thought I'd come over and grab the cache.
There was no one around except me and the security team. I kind of expected this in the very early morning light so I came prepared in my camo gear hoping they'd think I was one of them. It worked they glanced at me but just continued chatting while I checked the structure - you just have to make sure it safe for everyone to be here!
It was really interesting to read the information about the construction of the opera house. I remember watching it grow.
My best memory was on opening night when I won tickets to the opening night performance!
In the 4th row. Fantastic night!
Of course I've been back many times to many more shows but this was the first geocache.

Difficult to extract as cache had fallen in to a crevasse. A stronger magnet would help. Would hate to lose the Opera House namesake cache. Someone told me this was winter - 21 degrees and cloudless sky. I don't believe them. Great city, great country!
We came out for a tour of the Opera House early morning so there were not a lot of people which allowed me to grab this one. Thanks
First full day in Australia with my mates Andrea, Amalie and Hannah (see au.mates on instagram for more). We headed towards the bay and Sydney Opera House first, and learned a lot of the building of the construction on a guided tour. We were also lucky to receive tickets for an operette. The cache itself was really easy to find on great coordinates along with a precise hint. Thank for this cache, greetings from Norway
