This cache has been muggled too many times and I am unable to keep replacing it.
No luck here today while in the area for the nearby multi. Judging by all the DNFs and the nearly neatly preened garden I’d say it’s probably gone.
I had a look for this one in August when I was over for Welly on a plate but it was obvious it was MIA. Thanks for sorting it out in time for the MEGA. Quick find today. Bit of a mission getting the log out without damaging it but mission accomplished in the end. Then I went to have another look at the facinating block house which I visited years ago for the cache but it really is so interesting and clearly depicts a bit of history. TFTC # 13,193
Our last day in Wellington, we were here for the Wellington Mega Event. We have had a fantastic weekend, we have attended a heap of events, found a heap of caches and met some great like minded people.
We did not really have a plan for today other than to get one challenge cache in town and to be at the airport this evening.
So we thought we would just pick up a few traditionals as we made our way towards the airport.
This cache was the close to our accommodation so we thought we would find a few caches around here.
Not many people out and about this early on a public holiday, so no worries with muggles.
Thank you Newzealandtrips2001 for placing this cache and thank you for the smilie

A tricky we hide that don't match the drscription, but a preivious finder help me locate it. TFTC
Found with Injeanious as we explored the area during the Mega weekend. We signed some logs as team JeJe to save time and space. TFTC!
Team BOP have descended upon the Wellington region for the 2018 WENZ MEGA. We have a lot of caches to get through so there isn’t a lot of down time but it's great to meet the locals, CO’s and fellow cachers. My online logs are largely cut’n’pasted because my memory has started to blur many of my finds together so apologies for that. We’ve signed logs as ‘TeamBOP’ or individually depending on log space and time. Lastly a big Thank You to the Team - TNXPro, Davidsonclan, McJandals, NZFlossy, FapandGap & Squirrel Nutcase and to all the CO’s that made this a memorable trip
Some evidence of a poor bit of driving here.
Easy find on a Sunday.
Another Mega and the inevitable list of cache finds to log. Not really a chore, just time consuming for this old geriatric. My apologies for the repetitive logs but I will attempt to add a few additional comments as I go. Had a great two days. Catching up with other cachers is always great. Day one was mainly a solved puzzle collection with little blue hen and Kiwicouple. We also squeezed in a few adjacent traditionals and a couple of multis while participating in the CITO event in Trentham Memorial Park. Quiz night was a fun event after a very tasty roast dinner and we were happy to finish only 4 points behind the eventual winners. Day two little blue hen and I gathered a few more traditionals that we hadn't done close to the Mega centre. A few coffees, a favourite point or two, some frustrating searching at one or two and then off home for a rest. Thanks to all the COs for making it another fun weekend. Now to prepare for the Melbourne Mega in November. TFTCSL

Down for the MEGA in Upper Hutt, Wellington, with NZTravellers, caching around the area.
Logs individually signed as "stik-a-crane" or "SAC" if space/time was short .
Time for the official photo celebrating the MEGA..
..thought the events were well managed considering a good sized turn out to the MEGA.
Thanks to all the CO"s for maintaining their caches ready for the onslaught...…

Saw the blockhouse so went there first and then came back with Jess and Jean to grab it. Tftc
Day two of our MEGA wellington adventure! The weekend was great and the Wellington caching community did a fantastic job of hosting the event and maintaining some great caches and the weather was perfect for caching! We started in Johnsonville and ended the day in Upper Hutt and the back and beyond caching to all hours of the night. TFTC!
A quick and easy find. Thanks
Found on a day spent driving up and down the Hutt Valley, finding a cache or two. Signed cache as Ms+Mr KR.

Tftc. Had a quick look with no success before wandering off to the nearby multi. Found easily on return to car.
Team DnF came across this one on our way to and from the nearby multi (which for the life of us, we couldn't figure out). Was a fairly straightforward grab. Thanks!
Found with bkj97 on our second day of caching while attending the Mega. Thanks to all who had caches for us to find while exploring the adjacent area. T4TCSL
Yay! This is on the street where we used to live! We often took our dog and then later our son, over to the school for a runaround/play. I wasn’t quite sure what I was looking for here, but managed to locate it in the end. SL. TFTC!!
I’m in the Windy City to attend the Wellington Mega with a few fellow Westies from Auckland. We’re having a great time as we explore the area collecting smileys as we go. Thanks for bringing us here, sorry for the copy and paste logs but am using a Cachly template to log as I go. Quick find
With a group of fellow west Aucklanders Merlot58, Aiden29 and Bertie Blowfish To attend the MEGA and for a fun long Labour weekend’s caching. Thanks to all the cache owners for setting up and maintaining the caches. Sorry for cut and paste logs.
I had planned to spend the entire Labour Weekend in the Upper Hutt area at the Wellington Mega, however my plans changed so I had to wait to the day before to see if I was able to attend. It turned out that I was able to, so a quick plan for the day to attempt eleven different cache types and early start in Feilding, to try and make the first event of the day at the Cossie Club at 9.45am. A good drive down to Upper Hutt - after the drama of the day before on State Highway 1 and made it to the location with a few minutes to spare to see the line forming for registration.
Another quick and easy find here today. TFTC

a quick park and grab to fill in the numbers always good when you need numbers.
Surprisingly missed it on the first pass and then went to the look at the multi. After giving up on that one came back here and made a quick and easy find on the second go around. Funny how easy it is to miss things sometimes. Nice to get an extra find on our drive around Upper Hutt. All good here and thanks for the cache.
Out on a MEGA day pass attempting to find enough caches to make the MEGA Event my 12k find.
I do wonder what the neighbours are thinking. A lot of traffic here today.

Down in the Capital for an extra long weekend before exams start, with Jag50, Merlot58 & Bertie Blowfish. Happened to be passing by so stopped to make this find.
After ticking off many of the local lab caches as our 5th type for the day, Team DNF (Drive N Find) which included Viv_L, hayleyfcy, michaelteacher and tuolei, headed this way for a nearby multi that wasn't to be. I made a fairly poor attempt at looking for this on the first pass, but tuolei went in for a quick find on the way back to the car 6/11 TFTC
We came here to pick up a trad for the 10 cache types in one day challenge we set ourselves. But where we parked up, we came by the 2 storey building with no windows! There were 3 ladies trying to understand the very vague multi (N should have been NW or NE ???) we wanted to join them but it was too vague and time consuming and so we left the ladies to it. Time is everything!
So we kept on walking to this cache, obviously it was a much easier cache to deal with! I found it in an obvious spot and signed rustynz and Rebel98 and myself in.

rebel98, rustynz and gorby are getting some information for the "Waves 2 Wairarapa" a MEGA event. The information is gathered from the "Block" house, and this is our nearest cache, so we make the walk to GZ.
The nearby multi has a group of cachers trying to create some co-ords, but we need to move along. So much to see and do. Thanks Newzealandtrips2001 for the hide, and bringing us here

Being the seasoned geocacher in our group, didn't take long for tuolei to find this one. Signed as Team DNF as part of our crazy tiki tour around the Hutt valleys and Wellington area on Day 1 of the WENZ MEGA 2018. Tftc
met up with other caches coming out of park after trying the multi there.
What an elongated weekend with firstly an over night at waikanae and gatherin g in a few caches around there, and then onto the Hutt valley, travelling through to the Wellington Airport to pick up geo son and head to Karori where we stayed for the weekend and I stayed on for a further day or two before heading back up north again. At least the SH 1 was open going home and I I didn’t have to travel over Paekakariki hill which I did on Friday.
I managed several caches around Hayward/ manor park area, Avalon, Lower hutt and then around the coast to Breakers bay etc etc before going to rongotai and then south to Moa point etc. before heading to the Airport.
Saturday we picked up a couple of challenge caches and others on the way up to the Event, getting there in time to register and head to the CITO event. Then a few more challenge caches and trads before heading to the Flash mob. Back to the venue where we had tea and got ready for the quiz night. Which unfortunately went on a little long.
Sun day saw us pick up a long over due mystery cache on tinakori road before heading to Petone and then up to Upper Hutt where we completed the Lab caches some puzzle caches and thee wherigo before heading back yo Karori to have tea with grand chn and family etc.
Monday we went to Zealandia where we completed two more caches before taking geo son back to the airport. I then drove home the next day after the bulk of the traffic had gone.
It was a great weekend and a great Mega event . thanks to the organisers and ALSO thanks to the REVIEWER who alerted CO about the status of the their caches etc so most caches were actually there and not missing. This was a truly amazing effort on the REVIEWERs part. Thank you.

Muggles galore despite it being school holidays. The council gardeners were out in force trimming the lovely blossom trees and lots of gardening was occurring in nearby front yards. TFTC
Was minding my business at work when Gr33nslime mentioned she was going for a lunchtime run and cache. Decided that it sounded like a good idea an just enough motivation for me to get away from the screen to enjoy some sunshine and pound a few k’s away. Turns out the location was one I had been to before, with a well preserved blockhouse around the corner. When we arrived a tour bus of muggles was parked outside so we had to wait for them to move on before the location was clear. After a quick viewing of the house and me waving arms around at random locations of the sports fields say ‘walls here’ , ‘second blockhouse there’ we returned, found the cache and got to enjoy a quick run back to work. Thanks for the cache, nice spot to visit again.
# 1091 Went out for a lunchtime run from my work with JimmyNZ on a specific mission to find this one. Was completely unaware of the blockhouse nearby and JimmyNZ was able to give me a bit of a tour guide demo about it as he had been here in the past. We will have to come back and attempt the multi here some time in the future.
GPS initially sent me half way down the driveway... surely not, maybe it was just finding itself after being shaken up on the run. In any case, it settled on a location and we both did some stretches and spotted it in its hidey hole. I had no idea what a skindo hide was until now and so now I do! Had fun jamming all that cache log back into the container! Extremely optimistic about the popularity of this one at the upcoming mega it seems!
Thanks for the cache and bringing me to see the blockhouse!

Hey,
I am aware of the issue with this cache however sadly I am out of town until Sunday the 22nd of July so I won't be able to help out until then if it's missing [which I believe it is]. Sorry I couldn't help sooner.

Good find today, we were at the location around midday and were nervous about muggles but NO ONE in sight made for a quick find. TFTC!
Co-ords are good but I was very grateful for Bruzie's comment about the placement of this one. No-one around while I was there on a lovely sunny Waitangi Day, but I imagine this would be a very busy area. Thanks for the cache.
Found quick n easy once I pull up my socks and tied my laces. Cache in good order.

Visited here on a Sunday where I found myself in Upper Hutt seeking out a few of the more recently listed caches. This was one of those.
Previous logs give thanks to Bruzie's helping hand, I think it's only fair that we should also acknowledge the legend of Wairarapa who established the benchmark clue for hides of this kind. Brace yourself folks, it's another one of those! I'm also noting with interest Gasbottle's reference to sandwich bags and pills bottles, it's true, it's not the ideal marriage for geocaching!
Pleased to make the find in one of those residential situations where you have to wonder who's watching from behind those curtains across the street!
I visited here with team cacher zboywonder.
Cache in order, log signed, then safely re-hidden, just as found.

I had a bit of time this afternoon so headed further up into Upper Hutt to grab a couple of caches. Headed down this road and stopped at a familiar location - it's been almost three years since I found the Blockhouse multi. Fairly quiet, even as it was lunchtime. A little hunting around and soon found the cache. Skindo's hiding place is a good hint. TFTC
I unexpectedly found myself with some time to kill so I decided to see if I could find a cache that could be difficult to find at other times. This one fitted the bill nicely and I was able to quickly find the cache despite darkness starting to take hold. I really think the hint should be updated.
Found this one, so happy to report it is still there . All nice and dry! Thank you for bringing us to this spot.
My handheld GPS did not apparently have the updated description, as I saw no sign of a reflector. Had very limited time, so have to file a DNF on this one, and will return another day...
Obviously hint needs adjustment.

Thanks to the Cache Owner who has gone to the trouble of creating this cache, determining the coordinates and then averaging them to make sure they are accurate, placing the cache and registering it online for our enjoyment. Without Cache Owners doing their bit, there wouldn't be a fun hobby that we all love - so again a big THANK YOU. For our bit, all we need to do is find and log the cache that was carefully placed for our personal enjoyment. As we log it we should consider that the Cache Owner also needs to maintain it - when the log sheet fills up, they must replace it. When the container becomes full of water, they need to empty it. When the container is broken, they need to repair it. When it goes missing they need to find or replace it. Well..... the great news is we can do our bit too - make sure your log doesn't take an entire page - just a name and date. If full of water, empty and dry the cache as best as possible. Be careful when handling the cache and make sure you replace it where you found it. If it has a bag, seal it. Just remember - the Cache Owner showed respect to you by placing the cache - please respect them and fellow cachers that follow you by being careful with the cache. And if you have a spare log sheet and the cache you are at needs one, please leave it behind. Finally, if the cache does need maintenance, please let the Cache Owner know - you can log a Maintenance Log or you can drop a line to the Cache Owner. Above all - have fun and remember the Geocaching Code.
