Today we left Scottsdale to move to Ledgerwood in Beryl our home on wheels and me in Jim our Geomobile. I stopped here to collect this find, took me a while to navigate a path avoiding all the huge puddles. Quick find at GZ. TFTC
Thanks Trudy+3 for hiding this cache, I needed a find for today to update my calendar and find streak. This is my find #1477 at 12:07 on 29/3/2024. Log in poor condition and full, replacement log sheet added.
[9047] Holidays on Tasmania, day 12. Today we had to move on from Launceston towards St. Helens at the Westcoast. We took the scenic route and stopped for a handful of geocaches and short walks to see wetlands, waterfalls and myrtle rainforest. This quickly found geocache also belonged to our route today. TFTC!
#721 ~ Up hill & down dale. Took a moment to work out the right elevation. Found with Krossbo 1 month after our besties 2Shadows passed this way. TFTC Trudy+3!!
Jetstar was having a sale…. in the middle of winter, for a destination further south than I already live. That sounds like a great idea!
So a plan for a 4 night whirlwind tour of the northern part of the state was hatched. I’ve seen lots of this beautiful state, but haven’t found a single cache. With plenty of challenges to tick off, and a long list of targeted caches, this week is the time to turn that around.
Todays adventure takes me west from Launceston to St Helens via Beaconsfield, Low Head, Bridport and Scottsdale.
Donuts… did someone say donuts. Sadly there were none at GZ, but the cache was in place for a quick find.
Thanks Trudy+3 for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.

Caching around Tasmania. TFTC.
Took a bit to find on the dark. Had to get one for this town.

Find 3 of 4 on a short drive to Scottsdale and back to Derby. Not many caches round here, especially when one of the team is a bit banged up and not ready for long hikes.
With this being a bit of a clamber, Mrs O took this one on solo and made a quick find.
TFTC Trudy+3!

Out and about caching in the area and this was one we found.. Log damp but managed to sign. I don't think they sell donuts here anymore. TFTC
Tftc. We've lived in Scottsdale for 2 years but been slack on caching. Need to get back into it.
Took a bit of searching, but soon had this in hand. No doughnuts, but did get a great coffee & chocolate melting moment!
Found caching with Westies Tillie, Archie and Mac. Thanks for placing this cache for them.
On our way to Scamander for 3 nights, so taking the targa route in order to log a few caches along the way. Cold but dry, so makes for efficient finds and signs. says it was amicro, but no ! So had me looking for the wrong sort of hide to start with. Obvious enough in the end. Thanks for this cache Trudy+3
Looking for something to fill in time whilst not studying, it was suggested that I finally get around to logging THOSE caches long found but never logged. Some even have funny stories of being visited not only once or twice, but a few even have had a third or fourth visit before realising I've been there done that. The date is as near to the correct day the cache was found. So sorry for the generic and late log.JABs.
Today we are geocaching in the North, covering the general triangle between Scottsdale, Lilydale and Launceston and collecting as many caches along the way as practical.
Interesting spot for a cache. Quickly found and logged. TFTC

Out and about for another day on the road in Tassie. There was no rain today but the wind was freezing, so put on the coat and picked up only a few, as passing through the North West area. Stopped off and discovered some great find and the scenery was spectacular along the way.
While hubby fueled up the motorhome, I was able to wander over and make a quick find.
Thanks Trudy+3 for placing the cache and doing the maintenance, so we can enjoy the find.

Where’s the donuts? After a fab 3 weeks in Tassie I’m crawling my way back to NE Vic Quicj find TFTC
Had a DNF on this one a couple of years ago so it was good to rectify that situation. I'm pretty sure that this is not the container I was looking for back then as I certainly checked the place where I found it today well last time.
Thanks.
Thanks.
After our climb up the nearby mountain, we were thinking a nice driveby and some donuts would be nice. No Donuts for me to eat unfortunately

TFTC,
Today was day 2 of our stay in Launceston during our COVID-19 2021 escape to Tasmania that almost didn't happen. Our goal today was to get the local Old School Caches and it time permitted the one near Derby.
Achieved all our goals and needed to make sure we had enough fuel to get back to our accommodation. No one around today.

While Wazza9 fueled up I found the cache and brought it to him to sign, but no Donuts today. Signed log and replaced. Thanks to Trudy+3
Easy find.
Found with a cacher who has previously found it and said it’s not the original cache, she was quite disappointed.

Muggled at first so I went away and came back for a quick find. Thank you for placing this cache for our enjoyment.
Thanks for the cache Trudy+3.
RLD4963, the GeoGSP and I were visiting the north of the state for a couple of days. After staying overnight at Hadspen we searched for some caches as we made our way to Weldborough for the night.
This one took a minute to find, but soon it was found. We were disappointed there were no donuts available nearby!! Thanks for placing a cache here.

out and about with 2 Rafas caching of to the north and then the east perhaps. TFTC TNBPLN log dry. easy find after surmounting the hill. Thanks
Found it lay on ground. have placed it back in a logical spot but it may not be correct. CO may have to check when around this way next. all ok and new log inside, TFTC
While in Tasmania with PlagueRider, we stopped at a few geocaches as we wandered around from place to place exploring this little gem down under. This was one of the ones that we found, but we really couldn't understand the cache name. Thanks to all cache owners for putting these out here for us to hunt!
Heading for the nearby walk up the Mountain so wanted a practice find. A search in a couple of places before reading some previously logs for a different log. Wet log. TFTC
This one sounded simple enough but was soon looking like a DNF as nothing was spotted at the obvious location and camo only being a D1.5 At least we could park close and make the short distance to GZ.
Some more looking and the small container was found. The log is damp as there is no plastic bag but it was signable. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC.

Tassie Trip Day 207 - After taking a great day trip yesterday a quieter day was had today with just a drive to legerwood for two reasons that being it was a spot to collect a cache and see the wonderful chainsaw sculptures.
We looked for this one on a previous occasion but alas today after a second search nothing was found so it was time to DNF it for us.
Thanks Trudy+3 for bring us here for this great spot to collect fuel from. One of the cheapest in TAS that we have found.

On our Trip around Tassie we had a quick stop. After a short search we can find the cache.
Thank you and greetings from Germany send Moorhelmi

We pulled up here and had a quick look for this one but came up empty handed. Would have liked to spend longer searching but we were travelling with muggles and didn't want to test their patience too long because they really don't GET this passion off ours.
Thanks
Thanks
Didn't have much time to spend on this one unfortunately. Looks like the area has recently been slashed, so hopefully the cache is still in its right spot.
Easy find up with dad, quite a few spots that it could of been hiding. Not very much space to write on the log but I managed to fit my name on the very long list.
A great day out with gridge98 up to the northeast of tassie to collect some caches. Most were fairly easy finds in some great locations. TFTC
Another great day out caching with JL Rockstar, after yesterday collecting caches around the north west of the state. We decided to head up around the north east instead and collect some caches. Overall we found 18 caches for the day and were taken to some pretty interesting and historic areas.
This one took a bit of searching but with 3 sets of eyes the hidey hope was found by a luck of kicking rocks.
I am currently writing detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC. "The Author" Badge challenges geocachers to average one hundred words or more in each log. Given that I have found so many GC caches, I have to write many logs with well over 100 words for a long period of time to get my average to the target. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that I can strive to attain this challenge. After over 5000 plus caches (which includes all cache finds up and including yesterday), the average log length is just over 70 words. I am now entertaining the possibility that I might be able to achieve my task before the end of next year. It's surprising how much is has increase since doing this.

Today we explored the North East area and enjoyed our journey to this cache.
This took some time but finally found its hidy hole!
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Kicking things brought success for Ethel the Aardvark today, with plausible deniability provided by Da Schmoag.
No joy or donuts for me. A few people getting fuel. They may have wondered what I was up to!
Its was cold when we arrived here and starting to get dark but we still managed to find the tricky little blighter - almost missed it. TFTC Trudy+3
