Found today. Well goldielover and I are staying not far from here for a couple of nights. Yesterday I had spotted this one and it looked very interesting. Didn't do anything about it until this morning. Goldielover wanted to do a boat tour but as it was such a beautiful day I talked her into doing it by herself. Leaving me to think about this one. It was getting on this morning, but I decided to go for a little walk. I had a few caches to get on the way so all will be great. I grabbed 3 small bottles of water. I don't normally drink much on my walks so this will be heaps. A few chocolate snacks and headed off after sending Goldie on her way. I arrived at the carpark at 7.45 and headed off clockwise. This should be easy. Nab the caches on the way and head off. Well I missed the first one and back tracked to grab it. Then walked past a waypoint and back tracked again. Not going too well at this stage. I got to the top of the pass and everything was perfect. What a beautiful day. I quickly made my way down to the beach. Wow this is something. Wandered along the beach just on full tide so it wasn't the easiest but still very enjoyable. Got to the toilet block at the far end. Wow I wish our National parks in Qld would take notice of how your parks run theirs. These facilities are great.I started up the slope to Mt Graham. Probably a bit more of a steep clamber but all good. I got up to a great spot for a view. Way down below me I could see goldies boat. They were spotting some Dolphin. A couple of phone calls and I was back to business. Still heaps more to climb. The track is pretty easy to follow so I made good progress toward Mt Graham. By the time I got here the weather had turned and it was blowing a gale and absolutely no view. Not much to do but keep going. I passed a small group of Girls heading towards Wine Glass Bay. Looking pretty tired but doing well. Its less than 2 Km over to Mt Freycinet so all going well. I am starting to feel it in the legs a bit though. Down I head. Gee this is steep, to the bottom then up to gain all the altitude I have just lost. Wow that was tough. A bunch of young boys were at the sign before the 750 metre up to the summit. They had already been up and were part of the other group. I left them and headed up. 750 metres, you are kidding, I think they forgot the1. Boy that's steep. The weather is still bad. I got to the last bit of up. Going to be a little tricky. Not as bad as I thought. Well, the view is still not here, and the wind is still here. Now a little rain as well. Time to get off here. Back down to find a cache. Well it took a little to locate but the cache is in good condition. The log book not so. I removed all the wet mouldy stuff and have cleaned and replaced the book. All placed back for the next finder.I am really starting to feel the kms. Not far to go now. That is some distance down to the beach. My big surprise though was the sign and 12km back to the carpark. A quick check and I may run out of light before I get back. Time to get going a bit. Now it is almost full tide again on this side and the walk along here is tiresome. Each sign I come to doesn't help either. These kms are slowly ticking over. By the time I am at the far end of the beach the sun is going down. At least I can get some photos of it. I have run out of light now just 5 minutes back to the car. Almost exactly 12 hours after starting. A huge surprise. The GPS now tells me it was 32km. No wonder my legs are tired. I was expecting around 20 - 25 at most. A bit more planning needed next time. All good here with your cache.TFTC

Found this one whilst doing the Freycinet Circuit. Unfortunately, it was in the open and very wet. I drained the water out and replaced it in what appeared to be the correct spot.

Found it easy thanks to pics and clue. Phew what a huff n puff to get here! I don't know how people manage with all their gear getting to wineglass bay from the west side over all this mountain!! I struggled with just my day pack. Need to get fitter evidently! Pushed past and made it up eventually to the peak of Mt Freycinet. Perseverance pays off!! Thanks for the cache

We camped at Cooks Beach the previous night and returned to Coles Bay via Mt Graham. It was a dull day with a few showers which made for pleasant but sweaty walking. I accidentally walked past the egg to the track junction 200 metres further on so had to walk back to log a find. TFTC.

Love caching the old fashion way, yep that is without a GPS, phone, or any other techno device. Just read the cache page, description, hint, other logs, look at any photos, google SAT, and earth view.
As Dr. James and I approached the saddle, junction, I call to him and said hang on a second, put my pack down, walk around the back and produced the cache, signed the log, and returned just as two other walkers passed by. Thanks for sharing a part of your journey with us.
JABs.

Went on a three day hike with a school group. First night at Wineglass Bay campsite and the second at Hazards Beach campsite. The second day in particular was quite a challenge, but in all, well worth it. TFTC

We found this cache during the peninsula circuit. It took as a bit to locate it and unfortunately we didn’t have a pen with us, so we took a picture of the logbook. Thanks for hiding the cache in this special location Smile

Hello again vipera01 THANK YOU FOR THE CACHE.

It was two months ago I managed to get a couple of friends to go on a four day expedition to get some first to finds on the Freycinet Peninsula and find other caches I hadn't found and to find a couple of trig points.

The trip went really well except I couldn't find this cache of yours. I was even more disappointed as it was one of the first to finds I was after.

After a few messages and seeing a photo of the 'Egg' I was sure I was looking in the wrong spot and then when I got a message that timmyjj21 didn't finding it I thought I would have to have another go at it.

So with only a photo and knowing it was on the left side of the track before the saddle I was off on another hunt

On Thursday at a 'Boys Nigh Out' I told GrahameK that I was going to go for a ONE DAY walk to find it on Saturday, he was keen to go.

On Friday he sent me a message saying some thing like "In the light of day and not under the influence of a few wines he thought I was crazy to try and do it in one day and he was out". Well he wasn't getting out of it that easy so I rang him back and told him of the new plans and how easy it was going to be. He was back in again.

Today I picked GrahameK up at 0530 and headed off to Coles Bay. We arrived at Coles Bay at 0800 after stopping on the way for a coffee and to buy my lunch (to replace the one I left in the fridge at home).

The trip to Cooks Beach was extremely pleasant and relaxing arriving there at 0930 thanks to the Water Taxi.

With only day packs on, the walk up to the saddle was easy going and we made excellent time, on the way we joked about not finding the cache or someone else having all ready found it. As we got closer to the saddle we kept looking for a large rock that looked like what was in the photo. We rounded a corner and I stopped and said to GrahameK there it is 30 meters ahead on the side of the track.

As we walked up to the cache we had a bit of a laugh as we had stopped here on out last trip for a bit of a rest and commented on location as it could be a camp site if needed. I walked around to the side of the egg and said that's where it will be and put my hand in and pulled out the cache. I did look at all of the pages and was delighted to see an empty log book so am ecstatic to claim a FTF on this cache.

After getting some cords for the cache we decided we had plenty of time so continued up to the saddle for lunch at 1130. After lunch we headed back to Cooks Beach and waited around for an hour for the taxi to arrive.

Back home at 1830 how easy.

Found at 1100

PS new cords for this cache are S42° 13.043' E148° 18.633' only 163m out

Cache will be check before the end of January. Coordinate are wrong. Please do not archiving.
If you try to found it befor my intervent look for a big rock with a shape of an egg. Coming from Brians beach on your left. Not in the bush, really well reachable, few metres out of the track."
Check spoiler.

The coordinates must be out. I emailed the CO before I lost reception, but received the reply after I had visited.
"You have to look for a big rock with a shape of an egg. Coming from Brians beach on your left. Not in the bush, really well reachable, few metres out of the track."
The posted co-ords are into scrub. I instinctively went to an obvious big egg rock near the trail junction 25m away, but had no luck. I'm not keen on damaging more of Tassie's wilderness so had to stop searching, as the original path from AlbyDangles search was very evident.

Hello vipera01 thank you for the cache anyway.

I have been watching this cache for a while now waiting to see if anyone else was going to find it. As work requires us to take a four day weekend on show day I thought it would be a great opportunity to go for a walk and find your two caches on the Freycinet peninsula. I asked the group that did the South West Cape walk with me but only one of them was game enough for another walk with me, but Karl a new walker was keen to go for a walk.

Day 3 of our trip We left the Cooks Beach camp and walked up to the saddle where we had a quick rest before going up to Mount Freycinet to find a cache. when we got back we had lunch before I walked back down the track and started to look for your cache. As I started to bash my way into the bush I wondered why you would put a cache in here. After looking at the hint I thought I'm not going to find an egg in here, it was at this time my two mates walked down the track to see what was keeping me. After the three of us had a look we were convinced the cords were wrong thinking why would you bring us here. We extended our search but couldn't find an Egg to look under.

Any way thanks for replying to our request for help even if it was a little late for this trip.

I din't know where we went wrong.
