Logs
It's the time for Mr Hunters' to take his big annual leave chunk for the year, 1.5 years into his first full time social work role in his home city of Canberra. This year, I decided to jump on my parents' holiday to Perth (next week) but beforehand, I wanted a solo geocaching splurge. I spotted the LGA series not too far from Perth, so I soon booked accommodation for 5 nights in Boddington with the intention to finish the entire series within that time. I was really looking forward to some quiet time for solo geocaching and to have simple pub meals in a quiet country town, I've been extremely busy over the past few months and given my job involves a lot of emotional energy, I wanted to visit a secluded location as far away from home as you can get, absolutely brilliant. I've hired a Toyota Landcruiser at a bargain price and put together a list of albums to listen to whilst on the drive (for each day's log, I'll list the albums that I listened to that day).Thurs 14 Nov: This will be the warmest day of my stay according to the forecast, thankfully I didn't feel the heat for most of the day due to the A/C in the car and lots of shaded sections along the roads that I targeted today, Day 2. Saw a couple of big lizards, thankfully no snakes yet, I'm keeping my eyes peeled at all times. The most interesting sight of the day was seeing a farmer and sheep dog (not pig) hoarding a herd of sheep on the road, there would've been over 100, so I had to turn my car around at one of the caches and hopefully, I'll be able to find the caches along that road tomorrow. All up, 171 caches day, above my KPI of needing 113-142 per day to finish the series in time for my departure. Today, I finished Queen's album discography after commencing my Queen binge yesterday, binge listening such as this reminds me about why I fell in love with Queen in the first place, so it was quite an awesome drive! Today's albums: Sheer Heart Attack (Queen), A Night at the Opera (Queen), A Day at the Races (Queen), News of the World (Queen), Jazz (Queen), The Game (Queen), Hot Space (Queen), The Works (Queen), A Kind of Magic (Queen), The Miracle (Queen), Innuendo (Queen), Made in Heaven (Queen).
Out on the road today with Kyzabra and Granett, for some necessary cache maintenance on a few of the LGA series in the Boddington area.We met at the Jarrahdale pub and piled into one car for the trip down. It's good to catch up after what feels like ages... have a few laughs and talk about nothing and everything________________________________________________________________________Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache FellowshipOfTheTrail you help make the game what it is today, cheersAlliedOz
A maintenance run to LGA territory with Granett and Allied_Oz meant we would have to find a few while out and about and this was one. Many thanks to FellowshipOfTheTrail for placing and maintaining LGA West Wimmera VIC. I was here at 10:23am on Sunday and this is my find 11037.

Day 2 (for us) On The.... *LGA!*
Another very nice find on a geocaching adventure with woolwood9.
We enjoyed the drive / walk around the area.
On the trail by 6-30am stopped for the night after 8-30pm - 2x 15 minute stops otherwise non-stop caching the area!
Maybe 2 containers at some stops now - We found some not matching description or caches with old logs where they were just replaced!
Tons of dust, 35 degrees - energy draining heat, seeds in socks, flies and spiders - all the good stuff that made for great fun and a fantastic numbers of finds!
**Appreciate the efforts of all involved.**

Find 49 of day 2 on the LGA series.
It’s time for my long overdue return to caching and a series like this caught my eye as a good way to boost the numbers back up!
Left nice and early this morning to make it down with plenty of time to find as many as possible!
Hoping to do some CITO along the way to help clean up, but if a shame seeing all the rubbish on the side of the road driving down.

Thanks for maintaining this super power trail.

After a great weekend away in Boddington and achieving our geocaching goals yesterday of collecting 200 caches in a day, while tackling part of the LGA series . We decided to take today a little easier and also being mindful of time knowing that we need to be back in Bunbury by mid afternoon. Our plan was hatched to have a leisurely breakfast at a nice little cafe in Boddington, check out some of the amazing street art around Boddington, which really is amazing and word class. Then to undertake another string of the LGA series . Weather is a little nicer today, still a bit overcast but reasonable temperature perfect for geocaching.
This is our seventeenth cache cache find of the day.
Thanks again to The Fellowship Of The Trail for placing and maintaining this wonderful geocaching series.

We all set personal geocaching targets such as completing the D/T grid and streaks. One of personal goals was to average 2500 finds per year. At the end of 2019 we were on track but, as with all geocachers, the events of 2020 impacted greatly. So, despite the restrictions still in place this year, we are trying to get our average back up to 2500 finds per year. With Covid limiting our travel options, we decided to head west, flying directly from Hobart to Perth so that we could cache in Western Australia.
One of our targets is the Local Government Area series near Boddington. We made a start yesterday and continued today. The real unexpected bonus for us was the range and quantity of the wildflowers we saw along the way. They were magnificent. We have been told that the recent consistent rainfall has led to a greater abundance of wildflowers that in previous years.
Today we looked for 145 of the LGA caches, finding all but two of them. Unless stated otherwise, accurate coordinates and the hints led to quick finds. The cache containers were in good condition but, as should be expected, many of the log books are showing signs of being used by many cachers, some being badly torn.
We really enjoy the concept of the LGA trail. Congratulations to the members of the FellowshipOfTheTrail on an excellent series which must have taken extensive planning and a large amount of time to prepare and place each of the caches.

Out on a beautiful winters day tackling some more if this great series. Thank you to the Fellowship of the Trail members. Appreciate it. Loved revisting a lot of town names that we have really visited.
On to Lucev Road with MorgoTheGeo for our third and final day of the LGA series. Pretty quick easy finds. Thanks for the trail
What a fantastic power trail! Fellowship of the Trail, you all have done an excellent job. Bravo!!
Probsty and I hatched a plan on finishing this series today. We took off at 5am and then we were on a cache mission. It’s our third day down here with a mix of driving and mountain biking. Today was with four wheels. Weather was perfect and most were easy finds. Thank you!
Our journey so far has taken us to NSW, SA, Queensland, NSW, Victoria, Tasmania and now back in Victoria.

First day of the LGA series. Hoping the rain holds off. Generic logs I'm afraid. But will state if anything needs mentioning. Thanks for this series.
We could see where this one was going to be from the previous cache. 200m guess and we were right. The most obvious place.
Beware of the possible Red Back spiders under this rock. There are tell tale webs.

Staying in Boddington with the boss and inlaws and decided to head out on my own to tackle some of the lga series. All were quick and easy finds some easier than others as thseveral caches were laying on the ground out in the open for all to see. Thanks for a great series to the FOTT crew.

Hi there FellowshipOfTheTrail.
We found your cache **"LGA West Wimmera VIC"** today. (This makes our find count 23487).
Today we headed out from Boddington and attempted our sixth (and final) loop of the LGA group of caches. We thoroughly enjoyed today's cache finds, but please excuse our boilerplate logs - we know it's not really a good excuse, but we find it difficult to craft individual logs when we attempt so many similar caches in a day. [:(!]
We found 116 caches today & DNF'd 0. Thanks for placing the cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels. Our log or stamp is not necessarily placed in the last spot in the book or sheet. If we find a blank spot when we open the log - that is where it goes.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found most caches within a few metres of where our GPS said we should be looking. [:(!] (We did have to look a little further afield for some though). [:(!]
**Cache Condition:** The containers and log books were mostly in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Nothing.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny

Day 2 of my little get away to find as many of the LGA series as i could before heading home to Albany. After camping at the Quinny last night i was up and at it early to make the most of the beautiful day. Thankyou to all involved in placing this series out here for everyone to enjoy. TFTC
Tagged along with Gma Allinaday to find the FellowshipOfTheTrail series. We had a fun few days looking for all caches. I loved all the lambs in the fields but the red back spiders that were on a few of the caches not so much. Thank you for putting all the caches out there for us to find.
Finally had a spare few days to go and tackle the FellowshipOffTheTrail series with my two granddaughters. Accommodation booked in Boddington a few months earlier, which we used as our base, we set off in high spirits to find all those caches. We had some big days, and also a few shorter ones. Given that it was the middle of winter, we had near perfect caching weather. Not a drop of rain, the roads were nice and smooth with little dust. The fields were lush and green with an abundance of newly born lambs, which were a never ending source of amusement for the girls. We found most of the caches where they were meant to be. Some had been strewn a number of metres away by animals. Some fences have been realigned....one cache location was some 10metres inside a new fence. Some caches have been wiped out by the grader widening the road and pushing all the dirt up. Some trees have also succumbed to new fences. Wherever possible, we have replaced caches.....approx. 26 or so, which will keep the trail alive. Many thanks to those responsible for placing all these caches. I can only imagine how much time has gone into that.
Enjoyed myself - search and signed the log as EV.. most excellent coordinate spot, some coordinate is out of way so look at "hint". Great see paskersfind at this field.. Thanks for the cache and hide.
Well we had plans to be in Albany this week, but plans changed so we were heading towards Dunsborough when plans changed again! Needed somewhere to stop for 1 week and the LGA series popped up on our radar!
So day 1 today and a leisurely start at 8.30 and back at the caravan by 3.00pm with 175smilies today. Lucky for us the CO's had been down to do a maintenance run recently. We only replaced 1 logsheet and 1 broken container.
TFTC Guys.

Wow what a day, we left home at about 8:30 am and arrived at the LGA series at around 10:20 am four and a half hours later we had amassed 124 finds and had an awesome time. The geoson had an amazing time planning and completing this trip for his birthday. We enjoyed taking turns to race the car to the next cache and guessing what the hint would be. Thanks to all those involved in the Fellowship of the Trail who made this epic power trail possible. Today brought many milestones including most finds in a day and 800 total finds. We enjoyed getting out and about to make all these easy finds.
FellowshipOfTheTrail this is my 15th cache of 101 finds of the day and brings my total find count to 895. The container is in good condition. SLTFTC.
This was our 5th and final day of caching along this LGA series. We had hoped to get a perfect record with ilook4geo for today's run, but one cache spoiled that by not appearing. All the others were quickly and easily found, all logs had both sets of initials noted and all caches were put back into position as they had been found. Many thanks go to FellowshipOfTheTrail for this huge power trail of caches and thanks also for all the work put into this series
This was our last day hunting the LGA series of caches with goingplaces2. All except one were found and on this morning's effort. The series has been a lot of fun and well worth the trip and the stay in the area. Thanks for each cache.
Out with Team Bastholm and Cassie &Co, on an adventurous two day trip. Thank you so much for all your hard work.
Redlipsandunicorns are back in Boddington to continue their assault on this series! Nice quick finds thanks to wonderful hints. Really appreciate the effort the fellowship put into placing these caches for us and others to find. Log signed and cache replaced as found. This was find #42 for the day

Back home and preparing for the big trip north, with a stay in lovely Boddington and a tidy up of the LGA series plus others. Another find! Thanks for this great series Fellows of the Trail!
Today was my second time on this power trail. I can't say I enjoy it, but its a job that needs doing. I have no idea how people can do 435 of these in one day (looking at you Parkacruz & Neva2Old). I managed to add another 51 yellow faces to my map, and 2 blue ones. I think I have now completed about 22% of the Trail. At this rate, I may see the end of it by 2021. Most were quick finds, a couple required a slightly longer search as they had been buried or relocated by animals. The two caches I DNF'ed are most likely still safe and sound, but I gave myself a 5 minute time limit per search to keep things moving. TFTC

Am super, super happy! They're all done!! Yay!!!
Now I have to log them all. Not so super happy now am I?
Oh well, here goes - all will be pretty much generic, unless something about the cache, the location or something else at gz warrants a mention.
Numbers, numbers, numbers. Not normally my thing, but I did enjoy the two days spent out there with geobuddy marke8183. I supplied the food, drink, directions and other necessities whilst he did the driving, and all without a complaint. Sweet man that he is. And numbers aren't his thing either. He has probably visited about a half of all the caches I have logged and yet he has only logged 158 to date.
The Fellowship of the Trail have put in a lot of work in setting up this power trail. I can only imagine how many visits they had to make to get them all out, and then the maintenance will be ongoing. Power to them!! Awesome work guys. Thanks.

Out and about today with Parkacruz, our adventures started and 3am, to get here for and early start and to try and get and many smilies as possible on this series. We managed 429 smilies and 1 dnf which bought our total for the day to 435 a s we collected a few others on the way. We had 1 hr off the series to get a coffee which for some reason took a long time to make. We finished our day caching at sunset and then the drive back, so we arrived home at 10 pm. A massive day for us 19 hours.
We thought that we did a great days work- 1 car- 3 cachers -435 caches. woohoo
Thanks for the series Fellowshipofthetrail

As to plan we headed out to Boddington with neva2old to make a start on the LGA series and a couple others on the map too. An early start with hitting the road at 3am and claiming our first smiley at 4.40am and our last at 7.40pm. We spent an hour in Boddington....... coffee...... we needed coffee !! One car, we worked as a team and we went to every cache together. Finding our rhythm, we were signing a log every 2 minutes, an average of 30 finds every hour, we were on a roll. We had one DNF for the day and a massive 435 finds, WOW we are ecstatic and exhaustion has set in but it was well worth the effort. We will head out in the near future to claim the remainder of the LGA Series. Thanks to everyone involved in placing the caches around Boddington, TFTC
What an amazingly huge series. Thanks for the time an effort put into creating this series. Sometimes it's all about the numbers. I managed to find 143 today. 0 dnfs. Most were quick finds which is ideal for a power trail of this magnitude. Thanks FellowshipOfTheTrail.
I was working in Narrogin for the next couple of days and I decided to have a go at part of this "power trail" on my way down there from Perth. Doing it solo and starting mid-afternoon, I realised that I wasn't going to get anywhere near all of them done so, being a Victorian, I decided that the 80 Victorian LGA caches would be a good challenge.
My "Find" logs are going to get rather repetitive with a lot of "copy & paste" action. Generally the caches were all easy to find with good coordinates and helpful Hints.
Thanks to the FellowshipOfTheTrail for a really great challenge...

Out for a Sunday drive, to the LGA caches, had a lovely day caching. Should only be One more trip out to complete the series . tftc sl tnln.
pug002 found it 16/11/2017. We met some friendly farmers had a chat. They knew what we were about and said to tell others about Zilko Road, be careful where you park as B Doubles will be moving the harvest. A gorgeous Red Cloud dog was so friendly I am sure would have jumped in the car if I had let him. Shire workers warned us about a coming storm and also beware of snakes. They had seen a dugite. Which we later saw dead on the road. TFTC to the FellowshipOfThe Trail. A lot of caches we found lying out in the open on the ground.
##The LGA Series is back up and running.##

The local Shire has asked that we review the placement of these caches. Please do not attempt to find until they are back online. Unfortunately we will have to delete any 'Found it' logs until we get the green light. Apologies for any inconvenience but please do not attempt these caches at this time. Thanks
#13362. Day 19 of our WA holiday and our second day based at Quindanning.
Another full day chasing more caches in the LGA Series. First cache signed at 7.55am and by end of day's play we had added smilies to 177 LGA caches and 1 Cemetery cache.
We drove towards Boddington and turned right onto Moorapulling Road with our first cache being Burwood NSW. Unfortunately, about 6km down the road we came across a ROAD CLOSED sign so we abandoned the car and walked to the next two, before driving back the way we came and around to the other end, where we picked up the last two on that road.
A day with variable weather but more fabulous scenery - green and gold fields, farmers moving their sheep and stopping for chats with us - they were friendly and fully aware of geocaching activities in the area (along with orchid hunters at this time of year).
Thanks FellowshipOfTheTrails

Day Nineteen of our holiday in Western Oz.
Bettyboo3747 and I loitered around Quindanning, and we did a few more of the LGA series.
A very variable day with spitting rain to bright sunshine, several times!
The road although a bit damp were still fine for 2WD (except for one that was closed)
Our third day on the LGA series. We started near the pub and concentrated on the north western corner. finishing the day with a few we had missed, and one cemetery multi.
A good container to use for the series, and a nice collection of hides
Thanks, Robmc.

A beautiful sunny warm day in Boddington for day two of our attempt on the LGA series. We spent the morning doing a circuit then came back to our caravan for a lesurely lunch after which we ventured back out again down through the Quindanning Williams road- unfortunately our intended circuit was cut short be a road closure so we headed out further and found more caches.
We found every cache we attempted and saw some wonderful countryside which is at is best at the moment with fields of green and yellow and lots of wildflowers in the bush areas.

Found by Mary & David at 1418 on our first day chasing LGA caches. Badly bogged there on Day 2 of our trip. Winch to the rescue! Our thanks to FellowshipOfTheTrail.
What a beautiful day to be out with great friends , Iluvtrekking and Richlinks. Tackling this massive series....we started at first light and kept going until all the caches were found in this great series. It was a full day and what a great way to spend father's day...TFTS ....fellowshipOfTheTrail group.
We made a very early start today with richlink and JacobsCrew2 to endeavour to complete this series in one day. All caches were found and logs signed with our team name for the day RIJ. We had a lot of fun along the way and retired exhausted at the end of the trail.
Thank you FellowshipOfTheTrail - a sterling effort!

After conferring with previous finders and at their encouragement, together with iluvtrekking and JacobsCrew2 we decided to embark on an attempt to log all caches in this series in the one day. It took a lot of pre-planning and mapping to be confident we could do it, so Fathers Day was nominated for the quest. Arrived at the first cache before sun up on a day that proved to be very chilly with the temperature not rising above 12 deg all day. We worked systematically through the different sections and were elated to have logged (used RIJ to record our visit) all the finds due to excellent co-ords provided by the various CO's of the series. This is definitely our type of scenery for caching and although it was cold, we all enjoyed the day and will remember it for a long time to come. Thank you FellowshipOfTheTrail
Still so many of this great series to do so we thought that we would get up bright & early & go & join fratra who had stayed down there overnight. Well we managed the early but not the bright as it was still dark & pouring with rain when we left home. We must have been good boys & girls though as it stopped raining before we found our first cache & did not start again until we had said" that's the last one let's head home". We had a wonderful day, great caches & lots of laughs with good mates. TFTC FellowshipOfTheTrail
Day 2 of the LGA caches.
A nice haul of 180 caches today. We were joined bright and early this morning by Pommieparkin2 and a fun day of caching ensued.
Whilst yesterday was about numbers today was about fun and laughter with our caching mates.
After seeing these published last week we hatched a plan to make a start on this series on our next days off. Booked a nights accommodation and left home bright and early armed with some information from previous finders, the most important being the addition of wellie boots to our TOTTs.
A huge thanks to the Fellowship of the Trail lads for a great series.
TFTC FellowshipOfTheTrail this is find # 3131 for us.

As part of the FOTT I am pleased to be able to log this one as a find! The series took many months of planning and was not without the odd hiccup but we managed to jump the hurdles and keep the series in place. A fantastic addition to geocaching in WA and I am proud of the efforts of the other FOTT members (AlliedOz, Granett, KrabiBoy, Kyzabra and SVKR_WA) for all they have done in getting this series up and running.

well what an interesting few days this has been waiting to see where these caches were going to be. Knowing they were getting published I was asked to come over early to wait to see when it was going to happen....After stalking a few peoples profile who we thought were part of the Fellowship team OOH YEH already had an idea that the area was Boddington. It was lucky she was on the computer when the first one came out as it was out of my range for notifications. Got straight in the car and had arranaged to meet Barnzy and Cravo at the first cache. Once at the cache it was then a waiting game (thankfully not to long) for the rest to come out. We should mention theres hardly any phone reception out there so it was a mad panic to save all the caches. All caches were found without any problem with a few that were replaced and a few put back where they should have been. I think with non stop caching we got over 400 FTFS and then back out the next morning to grab the rest. A great series to do and I cant imagine how much work went into setting it up. Thanks to all the Fellowship Team for placing these caches and I will give fav points out as I'm logging.

**FTF** with OOH YEH, KristyBelle & Barnzy12, we formed team "BOCK" for ease of log writing.
We had been engaging in dialogue back and forth with all sorts of theories around this Fellowship of the Trail stuff that has been circulating around the traps for sometime.
IThe first cache pinged down to the phone and there was mad calls between OOH YEH who was with KristyBelle and Barnzy12 and myself who had agreed to head to LGA Sydney NSW as that was the first published.
We all met up and went in Mrs OOH YEHs car from there to grab cache after cache after cache following the trails for kilometre after kilometre. The most satisfying feeling was cracking open the tubes and hearing it "break the seal" knowing that you were FTF
We continued for hour after hour finishing after dark collecting over 400 FTFs on the first day of publication plus a couple we were beaten to by other cachers.
Was a huge achievement by the team; Most FTFs in a day in Australia, most finds in a day in Western Australia (which will likely be beaten soon!!) and a couple of others which I've been reminded off by some of the most stat conscious cachers in this great state of ours.
The second day was a bright and early start with over 80 FTFs picked up before the weather set in making driving a bit more slippery and most cache finds needing to jump small rivers to grab the caches and resulting in one of the group managing to have two soaking wet shoes.
What a great series setup by these local cachers Jinta29, alliedoz, kyzabra, Krabi boy, granett and svkr. A huge effort and well done. I hope that cachers will help you guys with the huge task of maintenance so this series can live on for a long time and you may be even inspired to hide another trail. Thank you.
Probably will go down as one of my favourite caching days, (apart from the full week prior planning and going to work early preparing for a release of caches at any point) I'm sure my stats will remind me for some time to come as some of these records will never be beaten by me again!

The trail could be done as a whole on one huge day if you desire, with the right planning this is certainly possible.
