2nd time lucky with just my niece this time and found it woohoo. It is a lovely walk in the shade with not too much uphill. Thanks for bringing me here and TFGC.
A long overdue walk of the Taheke Falls Track. Seven potential Geocache to hunt out. Ended up with four of the seven.
Stopped by to see the waterfall. Disappointed the viewing platform gives only a limited view of the top of the falls. I'm sure the loop walk would have been great but having just completed the Whangerei Falls walk it was too much for today. Tftc
Didn't find this one today.
Had long look on way in plus long look on way out with a previous finder!

Have been here and walked the loop back in 2012. Out with Liz's Crew and hatched a plan to come here to chase down some plastic containers while enjoying the bush walk. Gave the wonky knees a blinken workout with all the stairs but was great to complete. Some lovely views from the waterfall and very scenic views. great track thx and pleased Liz's Crew had the spolier photo's.
Quick find at the start of exploring a new area and track today. Thanks for the caches would never have visited. Nice little family outing with toddler in backpack for most of walk.
Another one which appears to be missing - Muggles, DOC mainenance, hungry possums ?? - left a temporary cache until owner can replace.
Easy find, before going home. ( editing previous log ; had my mental list of caches confused! .... ) TFTC
Nice find while in the area with tmann421 today
Enjoying the trip and the caches
Signed the log tm/ww NZ

Nice find with woolwood9 today.
*We enjoyed the drive / walk around the area.*
Stamped logs as tm/ww NZ which may just look like a black smudge on plastic logs!
TFTC
*very nice walkway and area. Thanks 0B80B8.*

Nice, easy find on our walk today. kids loved having some little bits to swap. tftc
My little sister found this one first as we all went geocaching together. We swapped some bits out of the box and our bag. Thank you.
Found with Polyannan. Thanks to all cache owners for taking the time to place and maintain your caches. Team Broadbent (signed TB on micros). Find # 2210
Bit rainy and slippery today, my phone GPS was all over the place, so an interesting couple of hours around the loop. Great views and a nice walk. TFTC
A quick find today while out on a Sunday walk. Great to see a few cars in the carpark and several families out here walking. TFTC
I've often thought about popping out to get the caches on this track. I was in deperate need of numbers today as I was nearing my 2000th cache milestone. The kids and I left home at 5am because I wanted to find 15 caches before the cito event at 10am in Waipu for my milestone cache. My GPS was all over the place in the bush today so the 8 I wanted turned into just 3 finds. I hadn't planned on that many dnfs so this put me behind schedule. With not many easy park and grabs left for me in the Whangarei area my hopes were falling. I pressed on. This one didn't take too long to find as totara is easy to spot because of their bark. The leaves were a tad tall to see. Thanks for the hide in this nice piece of bush
I was up in Whangarei visiting family for the weekend and decided to go on another walk through the Taheke Reserve to look for the recent caches placed in there. No problems locating this one on my way nto the reserve, TFTC!
Found this one some time ago but forgot to log it. Sorry for the short log I couldn’t remember too much about it was it’s been almost 6 months.
Took a few moments to find as was trying to stay close to the track... But it was a bit further off.
Such a beautiful sunny Anzac Day why not make the most of it and go for a hike, with some geocaches along the way of course! Found with Riser5, logged as R18. Tftc
With rebel98 and muggle on another caching adventure
It was a quick find, just off the track, with signs saying stay on track, its gets a bit tricky caching sometimes.
Thanks 0B80B8 for bringing us here, looking forward to exploring the area. Luckily the area is dry so no problems crossing the lower crossing. Expect after heavy rain, we would be taking the upper level to the start of the track

We decided to go for a wander around the Taheke Loop Track today rather than working around the house as it was time for a bit of a break. It's been a few years since we have walked the complete loop on this track - it used to be a regular event with the scouts and Young Mariners.
These four caches have been on my list for awhile so we were hoping for success today. We thought this would be the easiest cache to locate and was the first on our list being close to the track start. However the GPS was all over the place as we walked along the track and after a 10 minute search we gave up and continued on to the other caches.
On the way back to the car we decided to have a second search and this time the cache was discovered quite quickly. Not reading the cache notes fully the first time meant we were looking for a micro, once refocused the small cache container was quickly located and was in good condition.

Quick find before checking out the falls.Tried for the others but gps and phone didnt like it today.Tftc.
#758 2:55 pm Out for some caching and a walk with BH &Co. We could see the tell tale signs of GZ but the GPS was pointing forward so we continued a bit further along where &Co found a painted rock. That find completely made their day as they had asked to go for a different walk just to search for painted rocks (that trail had no unfound geocaches ). After the painted rock I looped back to the tell tale point and the cache was quickly signed and returned. TFT(rapid)C.
FTF bit of a small search around and cache was in hand. Took the mother for the walk around the track.
