Beautiful view. Even with my extraction tool I couldnt get the log out. If anything I have pushed it in further. Tftc.

Looked, but could not find

Logging this as a find but could not extract from the hiding spot. Tool needed. Perhaps has become more embedded than intended?

A muggle in lycra was lurking at GZ on attempt one so what would have been the first cache of the day ended up being the last.
Very nicely placed although a bit tricky to extract, but some handy TOTT helped.
Thanks G-2 for this and your other caches in this area. We have been to Murawai many times but have never been up here before.

Last one for the day. We knew this had been replaced recently so had a very thorough search when we first arrived in Muriwai, but didn't have any luck finding it. After a PAF call and then waiting out some muggles, we came back and Tufty made the find. Getting the log out and back in took a while as well, but at least there were some nice views to look at as well.

Thanks for the cache Smile (#1580)

I was out with Lumin298 today trying to find as many as we can in theMuriwai area.

Kiwicouple told us that they had replaced the cache 3 days ago so we decided to try for it. We had a bit of trouble locating it so had to use our PAF card.

Cheers for the cache.

We spent an enjoyable morning caching in Muriwai. We had noticed that this one was missing, so brought along a replacement. Two possible spots to place the tiny container, and given the hint one was too high and the other was too low. Tried the top one, but our eforts to extract it again only pushed it in deeper, so we abandoned that. Popped another in the lower, and placed a bit of lichen on top for camo.
We recall admiring the view from here while visiting this spot for a previous cache. Just as nice today, thanks.

After a trip down low we called in here on the way back. Great views at GZ and all good. T F T C G-2

Another day to fill, another day out placing a couple of potential puzzles, and making a few finds when passing. We headed to Muriwai for a walk along the beach, then up to see/smell the gannets. A good day to be out amongst it.

I have been lazy you know. I have seen these caches in the bush for a few years and ignored them since I couldn't be bothered making the effort to get to them. So today I decided to get on top of my game and get into it.

I knew this cache was missing so looked in the back of my cache mobile and found a suitable little bison to replace what might have been here. I spotted the hide straight away (nipple height) and the bison fitted perfectly and I covered it with bark of the same tree.

Permission granted by the way to log this cache after replacing it. cache on people!

Allok, thanks Mike!

Hunting with nette1234......I had found it years ago.
Had a good look round at nipple height ...but the holes were bare; except for a big spider in one!

Nothing Sad

On our way to Auckland, have sold the van and its being collected tomorrow (sad times)
Stopped here as we'd camped overlooking the beach. Had a look, stood checking my nipple height! 2 obvious holes were empty, looked for hanging things but came away empty handed. Hope it's us and it is still there.

Out and about for some geocaching fun around the Muriwai coast today. The morning rain seems to have cleared, leaving a sunny day behind. After finding "Eds viewpoint", I decided to take a more direct route back up to the road and bush bashed my way there. Not sure I would recommend this option. Anyway, once at GZ I immediately checked the exact right spot, but missed the hide on the first pass. Tried a couple of other spots before returning. This time I reached in a little further and felt the cache through the accumulated materials. Needs my trusty TOTT to extract the cache from its hidey spot. Right, back to the auto and I will have completed my loop around this reserve. Cheers for the cache placement!

At last an amazing view with no steps or hills. A very sneaky hide indeed. FP

Out with friends Mr and Mrs SherlockthePuppy again this weekend, and along with NewlynFam junior (Wolfie109) we decided to take a drive out to Muriwai on this beautiful spring day... and take a wander along the beach. We also took Sherlock (the puppy- or not so much a puppy now.... not to be confused with the geocacher) with us for some exercise. Met at SherlockthePuppy (the geocacher)'s house, packed up the vehicle, and headed out.

This was the second stop on the way back home, and another cache with a gorgeous view of the setting sun.
I'm short, so the height wasn't quite right for me. However, I knew this from previous cache-hunting experience, so began my searching at around chin height. Found something, but it didn't look like it could possibly conceal a cache. Luckily, closer investigation revealed that it was in fact the hidey-hole I was looking for!

Good hide... just the right level of tricky-ness!

Thanks for placing!

After parking as close as we could to GZ, Mrs NewlynFam and I made our way to GZ on foot... and once here we began our search. This one took us a little bit longer than it should have, and while I was looking at a slightly different spot, Mrs NewlynFam called out those magic words... 'found it!' So once again the log book has been signed and the cache is nicely back in its spot all ready for the next hunters. We then took a moment to enjoy the view... amazing! On the way back to the car I also spotted a piece of urban art on the nearby power transformer which I really appreciated... I really like urban art that someone has taken the time to do well. So thank you G-2 for taking the time to set up this cache... as always we really appreciate your efforts in doing so Smile

Quick park n grab after a surf session at Maori Bay. Strong offshore with nice 3-4ft peaks rolling in. Heaps of fun. No problems locating the cache. Took a few minutes to remove the container as it was well jammed in. Daily cache sorted Smile

It was a nice Friday afternoon, so I decided to finish work early and head out to Muriwai to do some short walks and find a few caches. Looked for this after walking the Edwin Mitchelson Track, a quick find but a bit tricky to extract. TFTC!

Had made plans to head to Devonport with Merlot58 and Jag50 to get a few caches before the rain really set in. However, these plans were called off, and with all of us suffering from cabin fever, we decided to head out for the new caches around Goldie's Bush while the weather held off.

We pulled up on the side of the road here, and merlot and Mrs Jag rushed out to search. Mrs Jag used her new multi tool, that was a present for her birthday, to help extract the log.

Had made plans to head to Devonport with Merlot58 and Aiden29 today to get a few caches. But with really bad weather looming we decided to see if we could nab a few caches out here which might be a bit more sheltered and ahead of the big rains forecast.

WE has passed this spot going in s o decided we needed to stop on the way back. While MrJag50 carefully pulled the car off the road into a safe spot, the others walked to the spot. MrsJag50 managed to use her new multitool to extract the log.

01-Jul-17
Despite the dismal weather forecast I was out in Muriwai with Jag50 and Aiden29 to pick up some of the new and not so new caches. We decided to do this cache on our way back from Goldies bush and once Mr Jag had parked Mrs Jag made the find and got to use her flash new multi tool she got for her birthday to extract the cache
