Today Im heading into George Town to get some documents signed and then to the local post office to get some stamps, but as usual, Im taking the long way round. Being such a beautiful sunny day, its perfect for a country drive to take in the scenery and of course, find a few caches along the way.I didnt find all the caches in this series but I did enjoy reading about these Notable Tasmanians.Another cache I couldnt locate but Ive enjoyed the drive.TFTC GrumbligotKeep smiling
We tackled this little series of caches today.
It was a bit hit & miss for us with finds on the ones towards the end.
Saw the obvious spot as per the hint but a DNF on this one for us.

###Cache Maintenance Visit Required please.###
This geocache has been brought to my attention as being in need of an Owner Maintenance visit, as the logs indicate that it is most likely missing, or else some other problem exists with the cache.
I agree that it certainly seems necessary to have it checked by the Cache Owner.
The cache owner needs to:
* Investigate the situation and either restore the cache, or address any other issues, such as correcting the D/T rating if necessary.
* Re-enable the cache by posting an Enable log
* Post an Owner Maintenance log to advise what has been done, and to clear any Needs Maintenance attribute which is present.
Otherwise :
* Post a Note Log to request more time if necessary, or provide other information..
**Do not use an Owner Maintenance log for this, that is for use only **when you actually do something to repair the cache**.
Alternatively:
* Archive the cache, and remove any remaining geo-litter from the site.
In the meantime, I've temporarily disabled the cache page to await owner action by Grumbligrot and to take it off the playing board to prevent further geocaching community inconvenience.
[Please see the maintenance section of the Geocache Hiding Guidelines.](https://www.geocaching.com/play/guidelines?expand=1#cachemaintenance)
**I will check back in 30 days** to see that action has been by the CO.
If nothing has happened, I will assume that the cache has been abandoned and, unfortunately, I will need to Archive this cache.
*Caches archived because of lack of maintenance/abandonment will not be unarchived.*
The Geocaching Community needs to have a degree of certainty that a cache is there, and in good condition, waiting to be found, and the CO has a responsibility to maintain their caches.
Please see [my profile page](https://www.geocaching.com/p/default.aspx?u=Balayang) for additional information.
Thank you

Away for a few days so doing some of the back roads and weaving our way around, picking up some more of the hides, which we haven't got previously.
It was a slightly windy day but we were making the most of it. We had a lovely day taking in some beach and river views and finding some great hide. Had a few DNF's but was very happy to pick up some unloved finds.
This was one of the DNF's. There was nothing found on what was given as the hint. Did a quick search around the GZ but still came up empty handed.
Thanks Grumbligrot for placing the cache and doing the maintenance, so we can enjoy the find.

Hi Grumbligrot, thank you for this series of caches. We decided to leave our car by the roadside and use our bikes to collect them. Our final score 7/10. Since you had brought us out this way we continued the ride out to Bellabouy Beach to bag another 2.
Adding to the list of DNFs here. Two in a row now where the feature referred to in the hint was located, but there was no cache to be found
Finally we have made it to Tasmania from the mainland. Hoping to cache along the way over our 2 week holiday. Although a little grey it’s not cold so we will be able to see a few things and do some walks
So happy to be here and looking forward to what we will find.

Showing my ignorance here but this is one famous Tasmanian I have never heard of. Even after reading the info on her I am none the wiser. Perhaps it's because we can't get the ABC on our television.
Spotted this one as I got out of the car but did get wet knees dealing with it.
Thanks, pretty sure we have now completed the whole series even if it has been a long time since we started it.

Decided to do this series in reverse order so that I could make regular stops going back into the headwind (on my bike). Didn't start well!
I finally got to the end (or at least one end) of the NT Trail and this (thanks to an easy hint) was probably one of the easiest caches on this trail, glad to see the end (almost anyway). TFTC.
Mr Coder struggled to find this one, granted he was inundated with muggles. After returning from Kelso, I made the quick find. Tftc and the power trail a fav from us
Today before our departuree to the west we did first this trail.
We worked from #9 to #1.[^]
At the end we found them all.
Most of them in 10 seconds, some after minutes

Tassie Trip Day 211 - This was a great day to take on a the little trail whilst it was not too busy in the area the trail was soon completed and then it was off to the beach for a couple more and a great walk along the shore with the rest of the team staying in the Geo Vehicle and moving it to the other end of the area. I had an error in the head today that saw me use the wrong date all day it should be the 18 apr 19 but my pen wrote 17 apr 19 sorry but the electronic log is correct.
The last stop and a nice quick park and grab to finish of the trail with.
Thanks Grumbligrot for this cache for us to find along this trail.

Out and about caching with Tassie Trekkers around the West Tamar then headed over the Batman to George Town and beyond. A quick find. TFTC
Today we went out and about with Whitewebbs and headed to the George Town and surrounds to find caches published since our last visit.
An easy find at GZ, cache and contents were in good condition.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Our final day enjoying Tassie, starting in Georgetown. We have loved the variety of coastal and inland scenery and walking tracks. Thanks for the cache.
Found it but took way to long I had just said we are going to have to let it go and hubby said I'm not as he had it in hand I looked there multiple times all is good with the cache TFTC and the series time to head home
Thanks for the cache Grumbligrot. Visiting the George Town / Low Head area with RLD4963 and the GeoGSP for a couple of days. Thanks for this little series! The GeoGSP and I walked between some of the caches in this series to stretch our legs, whilst RLD4963 moved the geomobile. I loved Frontline, and remember Alison Whyte from this series. Would love to watch the series again now and see how it relates to the current media/journalistic environment. This was a nice easy find, cheers!
Out and about with Lil Rafa to get caches for the Hidden Creatures series, all the way to Low Head, we found, signed and replaced the cache, completing the find. TFTC TNLN log dry, cool nights but nice days. easy find with clues.
Travelling around the north picking up new caches since our last visit. Once again found by Mrs after Mr. totally overlooked it. TFTC a fav point given for the run on a beautiful sunny day and cuz I found it
Day fourteen of our holiday in Tassie. Bettyboo3747 and I are staying at Low Head.
Time to get the deadly treadlies out, and short ride to the lighthouse before breakfast (and five caches)
A ride south collecting caches along the foreshore, then after lunch, some caches around George Town while the washing was on.
Not a big watcher of television, but I do recognize Alison.
Thanks for this nice series of caches and highlighting Notable Tasmanians.
Thanks, Robmc.

#14432. Day 14 of our 3 week holiday in Tasmania. Robmc and I are still staying at Low Head so with dry weather forecast for a while we headed out on the bicycles to pick up a few caches around the area before going in to George Town for another caching run this afternoon (whilst our clothes were happy at the laundrette for an hour or so).
I recognised the name but had to see her photo on here to remember her properly. The last of this little series this afternoon and now we really must rush back to town and rescue the washing.
Thanks Grumbligrot

Quick stop and find as we drove along this short power trail. TFTC.
Well bit of a story. While signing the log I dropped the bottom of the cache container in the Long grass. After half an hour Searching we couldn’t find the cache container. Log book was full as well. So replaced with our own larger container at the cache site with new log
Sorry about the inconvenience.

We were surprised to find such a small container in this sort of environment. A nice little challenge. TFTC
That's the series (to date) polished off. Do so enjoy the hunt for nanos and this no exception, thanks for my daily distractions.. Now off to Curries Dam for the next.. thanks..!!
Our last day of caching around the area and we had a few caches we wanted to get before heading back to Hobart! This just happened to be on the way so we thought we would pay a visit. Had no idea who Alison was but now I know, thanks for the information. Wow, I was so scared I would drop this one, but I didn’t!!
TFTC and a favourite point for the series!

Found this cache easily enough but the container was micro rather than small.

I was grumbling along on the push bike this morning
"Grrrr !! Damn flies !! Damn tricky cache hides !! Grrrr !!!"
When suddenly I reached GZ
Snapping out me trance,
I soon acted out a scene from a *Mid-Summer's Day Dream*
And while I was dreaming,
I found the cache
TFTC in recognition of another recognisable Taswegian

Came out to go for a swim at Low head today and thought I’d do some caching. This trail is a nice and easy drive by one! Really enjoyed it TFTC
Hi there Grumbligrot.
We found your cache **"NT Trail 9 - Alison Whyte"** at 10:12:00 AM today. (This brings our total find count to 18631).
We are currently staying at East Beach Caravan Park with family, so our geocaching this week will be more of a hit-n-miss effort between relaxing, eating, drinking and socialising. Today was a fine opportunity to attempt the "Notable Tasmanian" series. A very little known fact about a not so notable Tasmanian is that Bill Stuart (Ian's dad) was Princess Mary's maths teacher.
We ended up finding a variety of container types and sizes on our journey today & had an absolutely wonderful drive. Our count for the day was 10 finds (& 1 DNF's).
Thank you for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places to visit on our nomadic wander around Australia.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Nothing.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

A quick search at GZ and we soon had the cache signed and re-hidden and onto the next. Thanks Grumbligrot for providing this cache and the trail to a beautiful beach.
These little caches sometime bring me undone, but this was a quick find thankfully, completing the series so far.

Back home after being in Tassie for a holiday, now the daunting task of logging all our finds, sorting through the scraps of paper with notes on them.
Had a few days of sunshine, a lot of days of rain, ended up with just over 105 finds all up on this trip, and visited many tourist spots in the north of Tassie.
found this cache after a quiet night in Lowhead
thanks to Grumbligrot for this cache series
sorry for duplicate logs

Whilst the name meant nothing, the photo produced the "oh her" response. Frontline was a cracker with Rob Sitch as a parody of certain "TV personalities". Looking forward to more notable Tasmanians being honoured Grumbligrot as there's plenty of road left before you hit the beach.
Our prime target for this evening was to find the cache honouring Max Walker. After that goal was finally achieved, we continued down the road to look for the other three caches in the series that we had not found. Accurate coordinates, the very specific hint. We were looking for a small container but were surprised to find a nano - but is was found and the log signed. Thanks Grumbligrot for this cache and the series honouring notable Tasmanians.
