Hadn't been out caching for the day with mum in forever, so had arranged today as a day to colour in the calendar a bit more, and find a whole bunch more caches if possible.

We ended up with about 40 for the day, along with a few DNFs, and ended up somehow all the way in Ashburton - that was not fully expected - but the places caching takes you! Haha!

Was so great to tick so many off, and great to just have a day of annual leave off motherhood too, while hubby looked after little miss 2, so I could head out & play! Razz

Thanks to all the COs that we could have this day!

TFTC!! Smile

Geocaching date with daughter for the whole day, yipee! The hardest part was to aim for those neither of us has found, so there was a slight overlap. Great fun and good chats along the way. Very cool cache! TFTC!!

Wow..very special.

Spotted the obvious but wasn't sure until we had a closer look. Well done on a nicely constructed hide. Left TB.

16-Jan-19
Rather nicely done. Thanks

Really nice cache!

Beautiful flowers around this resting spot. Amazing amount of items here also. Stunning idea for an outdoors person

Should I or shouldn't I as I drove over the Raikaia. Why not even though I had left Dunedin about 11 hours earlier. It was the high % of visitors who gave it a favourite that attracted me. A nicely constructed cache.

Awesome wee hide,TFTC!

A day off work and low numbers means a small geocaching road trip. Super cool container. A pity that I left my travel bugs at home.

Sadly there is no large event in New Zealand in 2019 but there are a few Mega events planned in Australia. I plan on going to the OzGeomuster in July. To find out more visit this site: https://www.ozgeomuster.com.au

If you can't make Aussie. New Zealand will have another large event in 2020 in Auckland. I will keep you posted in my logs.
Thanks for hiding this geocache.

Great hide, thanks!

28-Sep-18
Was a very cool catcher and an easy find!

23-Sep-18
StreetWalker wanted a walk up Mt Herbert, but I thought that sounded a little strenuous, so instead we decided to find the new(ish) caches near the Rakaia Huts as well as few en route.
We had unfinished business in this cemetery (a DNF from a couple of years ago), so happy to see another cache to find here as well, and what a beauty! And so nicely presented inside as well. Took the TB, and left 2 more, but kicked myself that I had inadvertently left the biggest one in my possession at home. It would have fitted in here nicely and been well protected.
Thanks for the effort with this cache. Not sure what the title refers to though? TFTC.

Not really my day today - I was muggled here by Contractors who turned up with a digger while I was signing the log.
I took the log to the car with me & returned it after the next cache, once they were gone.
Amazing, Banksiaman1. I'm still not sure what SF 70 refers to (is it a Ferrari, or a Standard USA leave form??), but I'm impressed !

This cache was a must on our list for our trip from Christchurch to Cromwell. We have stayed in many of these Forest Service huts over the years. We are awarding another well deserved FP.

A quick easy find of this delightful cache which absolutely gets a favourite from us. Although Pop would never have heard of geocaching, we're sure he would be delighted with the inspired enhancement of his grave. TFTC

The first thing I noticed when I pulled up was the wonderful show of roses - so was delighted when the GPS took me in that exact direction. And what do you know they are your Grandma's. That was when I noticed the other very special feature - that is so cool. Thank you for this very special cache Banksiaman1. A well deserved favourite. TFTC # 11,597

This one blew me away!
Got out of the vehicle on a nice hot Canterbury day and saw the trees and thought a haa but as the machine counted down I could see it sitting right in the open. After a bit more investigation I was very impessed both by the construction, the contents and the audacity of placement.
Well deserving of a favourite!
Thanks

Nice little shack and well made too. Having heard about these roses for the last 18 odd years it was nice to finally see them up close. The kids enjoyed it too, thought it was the best they have found so far. I didn't know your carpentry skills were this good Mr Banksia Man!

#2,853: Thoughtful Smiley!
I came to this one on a Monday Mad Mission with TW & TG. While we waited for new caches to be published (as you do), we went about collecting some unfound ones. After the nearby FTF, and on the way home, TG asked if we'd visited this one, and when we said "no", he said it was a must do. Very impressive, and a great tribute. I could only say "I hope we can be so lucky when it's our turn to go" as we walked away.
SL/TFTC!!

28-Aug-17
TG came and grabbed me and then we grabbed 8MA for a MMM. We had no plan tonight except to grab anything going. We even grabbed a few caches to place. The 'plan' if you want to call that was cruise around mopping up some of the new caches and some old ones for 8MA and I. Do a bit of cache maintenace and see what happens. Ended up being a great night (as usual) and driving hither and yon and coming home in the small hours.
Last on for the evening and one it was. GREAT!!! I have heard about this one and thanks for the effort! Loved the forestry hut orange! I have stayed in a few of these. Fav from me for the effort!

Thanks for the cache Banksiaman1.

An awesome cache. Such a lot of thought and work has gone into this. Thank you! Dropped off a TB I found in Alaska or BC - can't remember where exactly.

30-Jul-17
Took a couple of TBs for a visit to this cache as they have been lingering in my backpack for far too long.

29-Jul-17
A fantastic cache and it would have to be one of the best that I have seen. I love wandering around cemeteries and many surnames were familiar from all my years of holidays at the family bach at Rakaia Huts

18-Jul-17

I recognised the title as soon as I saw it and thought that looks like me.
I have spent a lot time in those things and their variants.
this one makes the wee dolls house on Frew saddle look huge.

What a great idea for a cache, and a memorial. And it is in the classic colour.

Very well done.
Cheers and thanks,
S.t.

Came out for a drive with Mr7. Parked up and let him navigate to GZ - and we spotted it from afar. A fantastic theme, cache and location. Great effort and an awesome tribute. I hope the wee alpine plants take hold and thrive. Mr7 was well impressed. Cheers!

{FTF} 9:48 am.

Mr. Kiwi was lounging around in bed as was Little Miss Kiwi and Master Kiwi was busy in his room with lego. Mrs. Kiwi was slightly regretting the night before and frying up some mushrooms. Just as she switched the element on, Mr. Kiwi sounded the call. We were in for a chance at a FTF! Amazing how quickly that can energise a family....we were in the car within the minute and off down the road.
Beautiful cache, very well done and a great excuse to come out and listen to the birds. A great start to the school holidays Smile TFTC!
