The area is accessible again, but I am guessing that a lot has changed in the last few months. I had utterly no luck on this and even the hint made no sense.
Area is fenced off and workers look to have removed the structure the cache was on. Will have to wait until work is complete to see whether the location is still feasible
This one did take a bit of time to find. I was looking in all the wrong places when Mrs FriwiNZ said "found it" She doesn't like spidey places so she was looking in a completely different place from me. Thanks for the link, hopefully they'll re-open the tunnels to the ammunition barracks to the public. TFTC
Out with the junior SandersonHunters on a sunny day to see the Fairy Trees and geocache. Nice hide. Thanks KirsTim.
I was determined to find this one - so a very careful look around until we found it. T4tc
Checked the obvious, then the not so obvious, spent far too long for a d2.5. Looks like I’m coming back one day!
In the area to start the new year with the Hobsonville Point Parkrun and after some sustenance decided to head on back along the walkway to collect some caches. This one nearly did my head in. Took photos as it was a pretty cool area and searched & searched but couldn't find it. Spent way too long here but perseverance paid off & finally find number three for the day. TFTC
Gave this a good search, think we could hear a family of bees around so we were cautious. Didn’t end up finding it.
Over on the shore today and decided we'd better come to Hobsonville Point for a look around as we've never been before. After some lunch and refreshments at Little Creatures, we headed off to Bomb Point with the lil fella in the pushchair for a walk. Our first stop and a good hunt around until we found it. A fairly busy area with people coming and going all the time. TFTC!
Great place for a cache, and easy find here. T F T C KirsTim
Another day, another set of cache finds. Gotta love the reliability of the hides and the quality too. Just a modest 9 caches this evening, but a real calm, warm evening. Perfect for a stroll around the area.
I'm up in Auckland for the week, with a couple of options for transport and with a healthy choice of 4 evenings plus one late-afternoon at my disposal for caching. Would be remiss of me not to take advantage of what some (km) would call a 'target rich environment'. And so my week was spent well, a count of 75 caches was found, a few DNFs and a plethora of G-2's special cache treats with awesome camo and attachments. Some nice evening weather made things easier, and I averaged a 10km walked each day = nice. Thanks to all COs for their caches, individual logs as/when remembered.

On my phone app this cache comes up as premium but not on the desktop site. I used my waypoint finder on my phone to find this one.
The Whenuapai Cubs found this one quite challenging but also great. It's very well hidden, think laterally if you're having trouble!
There were no swaps in there but we added a Cub badge.

Collecting the rest of the caches around hobsonville this afternoon.Took us a little time to get the right hiding spot for this one but found it after checking a few other places first.
Great views from here. Visiting from Australia and doing a few caches as we visit relatives. Thanks to all the owners of the caches we were able to find.

Out for a stroll with the geo-pup, Kirstim and Yorkshirekiwi83 for the coastal walkway followed by lunch and beer. The cache owners in toe watching us closely we were able to locate the cache easily but placed back a little better. TFTC
Found quite a few spots to check. Just as well we were here early and after a bit of searching finally came up with the goods. TFTC
With such bad weather this morning, our day's plan had to change. It cleared a bit so decided to venture out and see how many we could find towards finishing the museum event. Noticed the recent finds on this one, decided to call back with an extra pair of eyes. Spotted it finally. Yay, nice to get a smiley. SL. TFTC.
I joined up with yorkshirekiwi83 this morning to walk the Hobsonville Point Coastal Walkway and clear the caches in the area. An enjoyable walk with the added highlight of seeing a pod of dolphins a couple of times in the harbour. Noticed a few DNFs on this one, so thought we might be in for a bit of a search, but spotted it straight away from the lower level! TFTC!
Vistra and I caught up to take the 5km walk around the area this morning, not sure why it has DNF's it was in plain sight as we approached, to the point where we put it back sightly out of sight so it doesnt get muggled. TFTC
Spent a bit of time in between muggles trying to locate this one. Will have to return with an extra pair of hands and possible longer arms I guess.
For my personal challenge of working towards getting my calendar on GC.COM to be at least the same shade of green or darker I need to sign off at least 6 caches today. I won't grumble if I find one or two more I have now arrived in Auckland to visit my docs and family and sign off the necessary caches.
Whew! I beat the grandkids to this one. So we all ended up for the afternoon finding one each.
Cheers for the cache.

Headed out this way with the geo-kids and dog for a wander around. Great weather, kids enjoyed their bike ride. We will be back to complete the rest.
Looked up and down, in and out, so many options and so many muggles so we left it for the next time we are in the area.

I decided to pop out and grab a couple of caches. I spotted a little walk for three near by but only got two of them.
I had two attempts at finding this one but my GPS was out by about 12m North so getting the correct spot was difficult.

Second visit here, and armed with a decent hint from a colleague I still managed to make hard work of this. Nice sneaky hide thats a lot more obvious after you've found it than while you are searching...cheers V.
Good walk out here, took a bit to find cause we had some muggles mooching about

Couldn't find previously but once read the description a bit better found it fine
Well we were further up the road and heard a ping on the phone. FTF up for grabs in Hobsonville and we are only 500 meters away, sprinted up and down and thought we had arrived to the correct location, missed this on first pass AND then realised our mistake and its actually another Bomb Point named cache we were after so headed that way. Missed out on that by 9 minutes but after the disappointment was happy to nab this in around 30 seconds after arriving back, funny sometimes we take ages for a d1.5 yet other times... Just lucky on this I guess.

Took longer than it should have to find. Was rewarded with a fistful of slaters

Geocaching day in Hobsonville Point. The trick was to find where is "behind". All good at GZ. TFTC
Took a bit of searching up after thinking about the hit and description we got there!
While I was in this area cleaning up all the caches I remembered about this one, why not... let's have another go and pleased I did, I found it this time and the hint and description are accurate. It came close though... thought it might end in another DNF!
4 pairs of eyes looking for this one, including grumpy Darren! Teamwork prevailed and the cache was in hand. SL TFTC
Find four of the arch with PhilBirdBoys, another one that took a bit longer than it should of. Got there in the though. Tftc.
Visiting the area while in Auckland for the weekend. So much development around since our daily visits when our boys did their morning rowing training here some years ago TFTC.
Bertie, me and our small pack of 4 hounds managed to find a pleasant dog walking loop here. The logs had us wondering if this was going to be tricky but we had no problems here. Tftc and the related art work link on web page KirsTim!
Pazza & I brought our geohounds out for a hoon around the Bomb Point area - they loved it.
Four eyes were definately better than two here - as Pazza proved by hitting on the cache almost immediately, while I was searching at least a metre or so away. Tftc

Put my hand straight on it, probably took longer to get the log bag out of the container than find the cache. Nice to convert a blue face into a yellow one.

Couldn't really make any sense of this one, but a nice walk to GZ regardless and a reason to come back another time to give it another go.
Had a big search here, tried various levels and just could not find it, shame.. but at least it was a good excuse to get my e-bike out of the car!
No luck for us today, we reached behind a few likely places but did not choose wisely as all we got were scratches from some rather nasty thorns. We'll be back.
Took a couple of sweeps of GZ to find this one but in the end made it to the cache with the help of the useful hint. A few places to look but patience paid off. Very interesting park, we have not been here before. We had to wait out a family while they took their child having a truly epic tantrum past, gets busy around here. Thanks for the cache, all good here.
Ms Jacksonz with Epicruins195 to have a crack. Spent a while completely distracted from the obvious, but on the second sweep I went 'of course' and a minute later was holding the cache.
Nice location, it was interesting clambering over all the stuff here, would have walked past otherwise. Thanks for the Cache.

Came here a few weeks ago and wasn’t able to find it. I came back today with Jacksonz and they found it quickly. Oh well, I had a good crack at it . Nice location, obvious in retrospect. TFTC
Out and about for a spot of cache detection this afternoon. A warm sunny day for it. A nice walk around the track with pleasant views to appreciate. I didn't actually have this hide loaded into my GPSr, but I luckily checked the app and spotted it on the map. Slightly misentered the coords, I think, and ended up searching the old GZ for a chunk of time. Eventually, I sent a message off to the CO's and decided to retry this one a bit later. But I managed to make the find before I got a reply. On the return attempt, this time, my GPSr took me straight to GZ were I finally had the goods in hand. Cheers for the cache placement!
Gosh, this place has really changed. I remember when we first started caching this area was quite different to how it is now. Soooo many houses and the walk in was quite long. Today it was a short walk and the cache was soon discovered. TFTC
The tracks around here are very popular with walkers and joggers. Luckily by the time I arrived at GZ late this evening there were not so many others around. Particularly lucky, as this cache took me quite a while to locate. Very happy to finally have the log signed. TFTC

Pretty sure I was looking in the right place, but it appears to be missing. Lots of sprayed weeds and grass in the vicinity, so may have been cleared away?
Reluctant dnf but after talking to a previous finder I'm pretty sure it's gone.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Out with batgirl5 for a nice walk in the sun saw the cache as we aproached tftc Lokky1 July 31, 2017 13:14
This one has been in our backyard for quite awhile however finally got around to finding it today as the walk was well needed, Thank you
Funny !
Was out this way 2 weeks ago with Walking Group....wonder if it was already in position then ?
Today came out with daughter and granddaughter to cafe and Hobby Point Playground ...then remembered this new cache !
Nice quick walk and find with young Kelsie ( bexi333 )
Thanks KirsTim !
