Logs

After reading the most recent log, checked on this geocache today. It appears to be missing and the area where it was located is surrounded by quite a bit of debris, most likely from the recent downpour. We have decided to archive this cache.

No luck today

I began by looking in the wrong location and unsurprisingly found nothing.
Stepping back i realigned myself and found the hiding spot with no cache. Luckily it was close by on the ground.
Thanks.

After reading the last log, decided to check on the cache. The split ring on the top of the container has been replaced with a better, and hopefully, more stable one.

After and DNF near by geo 3 yr old was keen to find a cache. I spied this one from across the park and much to Master 3's disappointment I laid claim to this find. O ring has seen better days and almost punctured my finger as it changed shape during retrival. We stopped for our 3rd (but not final) park play for the day. TFTC Smile

A sneeky but quick and easy find.
Was jammed in tight and needed a lot of persuasion to get it out mainly because it had a plastic bag locking it in place.

Found with sesblocker. Hmmm that looked a bit odd. We give this cache another favourite.
Good coords and fantastic hide!

squashball2 I found your cache S.S.T. on 22/4/18, 12:42 pm. This is my find 1970 and find # 6 today. Nice camo. Thanks for the cache! TNSLLN

Searching high and low (at least in the beginning) did not reveal any cache. First when extending the search area, and focusing on the high, did we eventually spot something which turned out to be the cache.

Great cache! Took the camo off 3 times before we realised it was the cache! Nice park, TFTC

OCW with Mrs Aries this morning. We parked nearby and the area was rather muggle-free as we made our way to GZ.
Upon arrival I saw something I had seen before and when I looked there was nothing there [:0]. A search ensued amongst the ground litter and soon Mrs A found the item with the log. It seems that it had fallen out. We signed the log and I visited a couple of TB's.
I had a small zip loc bag with me which I wrapped around the container that made it fit more tightly in situ. TFTC squashball2.

A long drive out through morning traffic in order to get to an area rich in caches i had yet to find.
A quick find while birds flew about overhead.
Thanks for the cache.

On my way to an appointment when I stopped to grab this on the way. Poking around for a bit turned up nothing. Checked the hint and widened my search before making the find. Cache# 514 TFTC

After a bus and two trains to my previous find in Arncliffe and then two more trains and a short walk I arrived at this nice park with GZ sufficiently far enough away from the muggles enjoying the equipment.

I walked over and into the bushes and touched the cache, and checked the GPS, and looked and looked and looked and couldn't see it but I did touch it again.
Several trains went by. The ones that don't stop and go straight through toot!
I read some logs, no help, checked the hint, yep I'm doing that, PAF? No that's not going to work I don't have numbers for any of the recent finders.

Just have to keep looking. D1.5 - I should have found it by now!
Went back to where I first started and then the light dawned!

Signed the log and visited some TBs.
I haven't seen this type of hide presented in this way before - quite sneaky!

After a game of golf I stopped at Bexley North to buy something. Then I remembered this recent cache. Short walk from the car and found it. I hope I wrote the date correctly as I only had my golf pencil with me and sometimes on my golf card I go to write a 6 and it turns out to be a 5.

It was geopooch walking and cache maintenance time this afternoon and I decided to pick up this new-ish cache as a reward on my return. Parked alongside the park here and then headed off to the Bardwell Valley to check on my Cold Chisel series via the pool end of the valley and coming out at the other end at the golf course. Wound my way down through the bush of Stotts Reserve and finally back on to Slade Rd and then Shaw Street. On my return the park was free of muggles and I went straight to the cache - I know exactly what RainbowSpirit was referring to with this style of cache as one of his like this really had me confused. Thanks for another clever cache squashball2.

When I visited the SSFTFH series last week, I noticed some interesting caches in this area. So returned today to cycle-caching a few along the fire trails here.

11th and final find of the day. M5 was choked up so I took some suburban streets on the way home. This gave the opportunity to visit this cache. Nice camoe.

Just the one today.
Decided to head south for a new one in an area I've grabbed quite a few caches in the past.

Managed to park a lot further away than I needed - there was a spot right near GZ. But at least the walk got me a rare Pokemon... Big Grin

A few people in the park, but luckily they were all at the other end.
So I started the search, and nothing stood out. I found the iPhone was moving around a little, so alternated between two spots. And then at one I espied something that rang a bell, so I checked it. Gotcha!
Haven't seen one of these hides for a while.

Took it to a bench to complte signing duties but... I had great trouble getting the cache out of the camo. Finally got it out, and completed signing duties. Then replaced after cleaning out the camo - seemed to help, so hopefully it won't be a great problem for the next finder.

And then as I started the walk back to *The Hademobile* a train went past.

Took a slight diversion on my way to work today, going via Kingsgrove and Beverly Hills, to grab a few caches around those suburbs. This was the 1st of 5 finds, and 1 DNF, for the morning.

This was to be my first cache stop of the morning, parking the geomobile in Shaw Street and then heading through the deserted park and over to GZ. Quickly spotted something worthy of further investigation and, after doing so, it was CIH. Signed the log sheet and then replaced as found. It's a nice bit of camo on this one. TFTC squashball2.

Today I needed a few finds to fill a blank day in my caching calendar. After scouting around the GZ for a short time I soon spotted something not quite natural and sure enough I soon had the CIH. Clever camo, TFTC.

22-Aug-17
After searching for awhile I reread the previous logs and noted one that said "something out of place" bingo CIH. I don't know how long this type of cache will last, I have a similar style cache that was muggled three times in its first three weeks. TFTC squashball2.

Never trust the guided mapping section on a smartphone to take you to a spot that you can access GZ from, grrrr. I had to drive around from the north side to the south side to get easy access to this one, then (oh the shame) I had to PAF to find the cache... , and it is hidden like a lot of my cache hides...

Found this while out with the littlies this morning.
When this was published a couple of weeks ago I rushed to this park from where I work just up the road, in the pouring rain, to find out I had missed the FTF by a matter of five mins! I did however get to meet the FTFer, nice to meet you LMcasanova and congrats. He showed me the cache and I decided I would come back another day with the geokiddies and make the find properly and sign the log then.
Well this sneaky hide it took a couple more visits to find it, although I think the recent maintenance on the cache may have helped as I wasn't looking where the owner indicated they had found it.
This is a great location for a hide and the cache is located at the perfect spot for some trainspotting, geoboy loved standing here watching the trains pass by while I searched. After signing the log it was some more trainspotting from the play equipment at the other end of the park.
Thanks for another great cache squashball2

Out and about on this beautiful day making the rounds to check up on our caches. Not a muggle in sight which was a bonus ! At first, didn't even see the cache and were fearful that it had been muggled. A little searching around, and we found it on the ground. Have re-placed it and will check on it from time to time. If you find this one, please take care in replacing it as found. Thank You ! Happy Geocaching.

Tftc. Muggles playing in the park, but we were well hidden, as was the cache.

4/8/17. 1:50 PM. Cache #5260.
4th of 4 this afternoon - St Leonards, Leichhardt, Marrickville & Bexley North.

Last one for the day, so I headed here after "Forgotten Australian #7 reloaded". I had to park the truck about 300m way and then walked over. I quickly saw something that would definitely have fooled me in my early years, but experience has shown what sort of things to think of looking at, so a reasonably quick find in the end. SL and replaced, then walked down the road to grab a late lunch before heading home. TFTC.

Having found all the caches in the surrounding area, this new cache really stood out on my map.

From home, a bus and three trains soon had me at GZ

The park was deserted meaning I could easily slip into the bushes.

One thing looked a little too convenient and CIH.

Nicely constructed and pretty sneaky

I was out an about nearby so decided to head over and find this newly published cache. Parked the car beside the park and then it was just a short walk towards gz. The hint really didn't help too much, as there were still many possible hiding places and I wasn't exactly sure what size the cache would be. After a long search up and down and along, I was starting to think I wasn't going to find this cache. Then I started again and checked one place I hadn't really given much thought to before - ah - something suspicious looking. I grabbed it and then found the cache there. It had been in plain sight all along. Signed the log as Second to Find and then returned it all to its spot.
For mine this is definitely more difficult than a 1 rating. S.S.T. for sure, and some people in the passing trains must have wondered what I was doing lurking there. TFTC Big Grin

01-Aug-17
Definitely a higher D rating this one. Had me going in circles and trying to use the hint until something took my eye and there weas the hidden prize. Good hinding opportunity here. Spotted a train or two and the muggles nearby were none the wiser. TFTC.

FTF #22. After picking up the lilone we decided to go find this one near by. Once arriving on location I did the dash for the cache while the lilone kept dry in the car, finding it rather quickly and returned to the geomobile. Signed log and then had to wait for other vehicles to leave that turned up while signing duties were completed. After signing the log and waiting for vehicles to leave i noticed another geocacher approching gz so I jumped out of the geo-mobile with the sad news that it had been found allready. It was nice to meet enother fellow cacher. Smile TFTC its hidden well.
