#6623. I have been up in Hamilton for the weekend. Managed to get quite a bit of caching in. But today it was a work meeting from 8am to 5pm. Have to be at the airport by 6.40pm. So just time to pick up a few caches around the city before I head back to Wellington. Time for one more cache before I head to the airport. This was it. Headed under the cover of the tree and scrambled up to the likely hiding spot. But nothing there. No other obvious spots either matching the hint. So looked around on the ground and suddenly noticed it amongst the leaf litter. Signed the logsheet and replaced the cache back where the hint suggested it should be. Thanks steedandpeel for the cache. Another not so quickly found quirky Q cache. Favourite Q word - quintessential. My favourite type of cache.

We were in Hamilton for a couple of days caching and trying to complete a challenge. After taking a short break in a local library... yay for air conditioning!... we worked out that we needed to find this cache to help with our D/T numbers. We'd been in the area earlier in the day so had a fairly good idea where to look and there it was! TFTC

I have logged this cache as part of 12-12-12: A Challenge? http://coord.info/GC42CNY

So busy encouraging our new recruit I nearly knocked myself out in the process, but that didn't deter any of us from continuing the search. Got the newbie to do the clambering, she was thrilled with her fourth find on her first day caching, and that added to our enjoyment. TFTC

13-Jan-19
Moggy val was nearly knocked out going in for this one and I thought a trip to the hospital might be on the cards but Gotham Girl did the hard work and that was it for the day. I think the new recruit is very keen to add to her numbers. Thanks for placing

With work finishing up after lunch today I decided to head for Hamilton for some cache detection this afternoon and, as it turns out, the event this evening. This was one of my target caches as it is always good to turn a frownie into a smilie. With the hide recently replaced I was set to revisit GZ. I parked up in the car park and made the short walk over to GZ. A quick step up and the cache was soon in hand. Cheers for the cache placement and maintenance efforts on this one!

06-Jun-18
With work finishing up mid-morning today, I decided to make the most of the remainder of the day and head down to Hamilton for some cache detection. I took full advantage of the ample parking near GZ and parked up. Unfortunately, the search was unsuccessful. With the DNFs mounting up, it may be time for a CO check on this one.

It was a nice day for a walk around the lake with family. New geocacher Tyla96 came along and we took a little detour to find this cache. It was in a good little nesting spot. We'll have to go back another time to find your other ones when there aren't so many muggles. Thanks for the hide.

Opted for a quiet walk around the lake rather than sitting waiting, waiting, waiting, at the nearby hospital. Was sorta hoping i would get called back before I got this far, but managed a complete circuit of the lake plus a detour over here, a tree scramble & a cache find & still had to wait some more when I got back ho hum! Thanks for the distraction today, TFTC

Arriving in Hamilton, we needed a break to adjust from the congestion on the highway. So, a little walk and some caches helped.
Thanks for putting it out there.

202 Here in Hamilton-Innes Common for my sons cricket game. In between watching the 2 boys bowling I managed to sneak geodog away for a wee walkies. Took a while to get my bearings with this one, I was a bit rusty having had the winter with no caching. Once bearings found, I was all good. Thanks for the cache steedandpeel.

Drove over from Tauranga this morning and had a small gap before my work meeting so decided to drive around the lake and grab the first cache that came up. Almost got blown over by the wind when walking over to this one before being protected by the branches. Cool hide, thanks for the cache

13-Aug-17
2.30pm - Just a few caches on our way home today to finish our distance challenge. SLTFTC

13-Aug-17
With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... Another big weekend drive to clock up some distance mileage.

Distance from previous cache: 46.63 km

We nervously calculated the distance to our next cache, and found that we were badly out... Lucky for us, a couple of new caches had appeared in Hamilton, and this one bridged the gap nicely. We have visited this park a few times for cache hides. We had some initial problems trying to zero in on the cache, and it took a good look to spot this one. TFTC.

12-Aug-17
It was a busy day here, but I had a QUIET corner all to myself to make the find. TFTC.

12-Aug-17
Heading down to Ruapehu with liketips and TheMexican to meet up with some other like minded friends to spend a night on the mountain. Stopped in here while we waited for the cafe to open up and made a quick find in the likely spot. Nicely hidden - TFTC

As nice and QUICK find (Oh look a "Q" word), as usual there was a well themed item in the cache and a street nearby that started with Q.

Thanks for the find Smile

02-Aug-17
3247 Day 47 of my current Quest streak. After Quizzically reading the found logs I was Questioning my ability in getting this one. Knowing the COs, the previous finders and my own challenge vertically I approached GZ in a Quandary. There was no Queue so I wandered around Quietly before spotting the Quarry. It was at this stage I also saw how the CO may have placed the cache so I had no Qualms in using it in order to Quickly get my hands on this Quality cache. Once signed I tucked it back in place and left Quite happy that I had Qualified. Thanks for the placement.

02-Aug-17
at work when this was oublished. not far from home. passing by with snoooy on walk aroubd the lake

30-Jul-17
I saw this one published yesterday and flagged it as was heading out to lunch with the Good Wife (and fully expecting another much closer cacher to locate it.
So this morning as we headed to the base it was a chance to collect it. While the muggles were doing muggle type hockey tings nearby the area of GZ was clear.
It only took a few moments to locate but when I did I had a rather humerus thought of the CO's placing this one.
Great work and thanks for the placement

30-Jul-17
Had planned on another adventure today with the daughter today, but as that didn't work out to plan I decided we should visit the lake to see the ducks and while we were there we went caching and grabbed this hide. I wonder how you placed this one as I could only just reach!

29-Jul-17
Was in town at repco buying wiper blades and some "protection" for my tow balls when the notification came up. Panicked because I didn't have a pen but remembered I had a colour pencil in my trumpet pack. Turns out I didn't need it. I spent a little longer here than I should have, and exited just before all the kids finished their games just to stand in a doggy doo and spend the next ten minutes scraping shoe on the grass .... Thanks for the FTF Smile

Reminds me, I need to replace the alphabet M cache.
