Picked up the information after a few walks. As a local I still found out some history of the area. Finally located after a few trips.

23-Apr-24
Could not find this, think the clues might not fit anymore.

08-Feb-23
Well this cache has the most waypoints of any I've ever done, but learnt a lot about The Gong. OCW Brewmaker before the Windang Summer Dining Event. TFTC mizmaz

08-Feb-23
That took some time with all those WPs, but an enjoyable journey learning some local history. Getting the log out took almost as much time as it did to do the walk. A Have a FP. TFTC

What a great day searching for this as a family.

09-Jan-23
Wow took us a while to complete this adventure what a lot of effort to set this one up.
Much appreciate your efforts on this one, like Blacknwhite said we found places we had never seen before.
Thank's mizmaz

What a fantastic Multi mizmaz. You certainly put some work into this geocache.
Visited places we never new existed in Wollongong. Very educational and enjoyable.
Thanks for the adventure

Thanks for the cache it was a fun find and I had a blast exploring Wollongong with MrPython!! Took a bit but it was awesome!! Didn't have a pen so took a pic if CO needs proof Smile

30-Apr-22
This was a great long walk with my 10 year old. Learned lots about Wollongong. Some of the clues were a bit too vague for me, so I had to ask for help, but we got there in the end Smile thanks!

27-Nov-21
TFTC!! I needed a few tips from the CO for some waypoints. Construction at the first one prevented me from reading the sign. With all the clues collected, sums worked out and finished work for the day I grabbed this nice little hide on a cold wet day. Also love the trees in this park, found someone’s wedding/formal flowers under one.

Finally logging this one as found after several evening walks out finding the clues. All in all it’s been fun and a great source of extra steps grabbing this. I feel like I know Wollongong a lot better now, thanks for the multi and the exercise during COViD. My favourite waypoint was probably the old court house. TFTC

I was out and about on an essential exercise walk around Wollongong when I noticed I still had not attempted this cache for some reason. I changed my direction and headed off for the start point. It was a pleasant walk around collecting the information, most of the information was pretty easy to find except for 2 points I struggled with.

After visiting all the waypoints, I calculated a likely ground zero, and not long after I had the cache in hand, a clever attachment of the final cache too! Thank you for the the walk, the history and the cache!

Very clever and enjoyable adventure

I was going to put a positive comment about this cache then I read the previous records and can’t believe what the cache owner wrote. That is all I have to say.

25-Jul-20
Had a great wander around Wollongong while the sun was shining, just before the cloud cover came over. It must have taken a lot of effort to put this together. At GZ spotted the different type of hide which was put together really well. TFTC.

With social restrictions easing and reviewers agreeing it’s safe to start publishing new caches, I’m re-enabling this hide (subject to ongoing monitoring of the situation). As we get out in the field again, it’s up to all of us to stay covid free so please continue to take precautions while playing the game… for yourselves and others.

25-Mar-20
Despite warnings to stay home in a global health crisis, I’m amazed at those continuing to venture out and log finds, especially new account holders (evident by 10 or less smileys to unknown names). As a responsible CO, I am temporarily disabling all my hides (urban or remote and unloved) until “social exposure” guidelines are lifted. This is for the safety of the finders, those that follow you and those that think it is ok to venture out because someone else did. Any finds recorded before the cache is re-enabled will be deleted so your risk will have been for nothing. Thanks for understanding and stay safe!

Phew. Thanks for the adventure in the rain. Removed the whole thing because I am an idiot but fixed it back up no probs. Great cache!

21-May-19
Walked the trail over couple of nights last July.
Collected all the clues, but made some mistake.
Today I made it again back to Wollongong and this cache was high on the list.
Thanks to CO I didn't have to visit all the places again. One stop was enough to correct my mistake and then straight for the cache. At 9PM there was nobody around so I had enough time tomake quiet find.

Thanl you for showing me around. Wollongong is surely a cith with a lot of intetesting history Wink

Swung by tonight following recent dnf. Cache & camo all still in situ and in good conditiion.

20-Jan-19
After doing the actual hard yards a few weeks ago, we've had 3 good attempts to find the cache. With help in determining the right coordinates, we still couldn't find it. Probably just a lack of geocaching experience to think cleverly. Great walk and fun trying to figuring it out though!

29-Sep-18
Found on a lazy Saturday afternoon visiting the Gong. I had a great time visiting all the sites. TFTC!

01-Sep-18
Together with SilkSpectreII I did this Multi Cache on a nice and sunny Saturday afternoon. Everything went well, we could find every single stage and gather all the numbers we needed to calculate the final location. The route was quite interesting for me as a tourist and I learned a lot about the history of Wollongong and some important historical sites. The box itself was a quick find after calculating it's exact location!
Thank you very much for this well-constructed cache and two interesting hours in the streets of Wollongong Smile FP in!

Maintenance performed to again fix the same problem. There is NO need to dislodge the outer camo! Don't even understand how it can happen. Sigh Sad

Great way to see the town and learn some history . Enjoyed the walk and the find. TFTC

This geocacher reported that there is a problem with this cache.

11-Jul-18
Had an idea where the final GZ might be so using the hint checked all possible places last Friday with no luck. Thought as much but it was worth a try.
Today with print out in hand sat down to punch in the first co-ords ready for a nice walk around the 'gong and the wind blew my pen off the paper. Bent down and what is that. No I looked there before but not from this angle.
What can I say. Sorry Maz.
Quickest multi ever. Actually felt like I ripped myself off so took an hour and went for a walk around the spots anyway.
The least I could do.

Working within walking distance of this entire cache (and within spitting distance of one WP), I've been waiting for the right time to be able to knock it off my list.

In glorious winter sunshine, today was the day.

Cheers

Took the family for a nice Sunday afternoon walk around the city last week and gathered most of the clues. That meant a few were missing but managed to gather the remaining information today and made the find at GZ. Certainly a well put together tour of some sites around the city that you might otherwise rush past. TFTC!

06-Jul-18
Being in the Gong for an event tonight I decided to make an early start and come and complete the remainder of this of this multi.

With only a few more waypoints to get I soon had all the required info and headed to a likely spot where the CO had always wanted to hide a cache.
Thanks for the history tour of Wollongong.

This multi was a great way to be more connected to Woolongong. I did it in two parts and i was already impressing my local friends with knowledge gleaned from the way points. I was so sneaky and didn't tell them that geocaching inspired me. love this kind of cache. favourite from me

On a winters day it was nice to get out and seek some sun and grab a cache or two. We started early in the morning and arrived in Wollongong around lunch time. Collected information and seen some sights. Before too long we had the set of Coods that looked promising. Good co ods, fairly muggle free location. Before too long we had the job done. TFTC

13-Jun-18
Second attempt at this one as my iPad ran out of battery a week ago when almost at the end, but my calculations did not work out .Back then hummed one of Dolly Partons 1978 songs about "doors" after finding one of the WPs.
Took a couple of parking spots as not familiar with the area. Did half before lunch and half after ,so took around 3 hours all up.
So at second attempt decided to recheck some WPs when I found I had originally looked at one at a wrong angle. Hmmm,
At GZ I hummed an Elvis' songs "you saw me crying in the chapel, the tears I shed were tears of joy", yippee. After signing log an elderly muggle approached me asking if I minded if she sit down nearby ,what could I say,( I had the cache in my hand) so she did, whipped out a crossword puzzle and proceeded to fill it in......... I mentioned I was doing a puzzle too, she laughed and kept on her crossword. She took no notice as I put the cache back in its spot, waited a couple of minutes to see if any reaction, and then I casually moved off. TFTC and favourite point

Found with bedlem2 nice walk around lots of sites to see

We were planning a day in the Wollongong area and thought we'd detour for this new multi. But it's a long way to come for one cache, especially one with so many steps involved, so we thought we'd see what we could muster online before heading out. But we have to admit that after a bit of searching we concluded the walk would be easier and quicker and more enjoyable than trying to google-solve. So we made the rounds, and with coords worked out, we made the find. Thanks for an interesting stroll looking at the history of the area through some of its older buildings.

I was the tagalong playing tourist today. Very nice walk with some interesting sites. TFTC

11-Jun-18
Took a small group and did a bit of a walk on this crisp day. Interesting to see some places I knew off in a new light. Eventually put together the final coords and found the final cache Smile Thanks for the journey.

10-Jun-18
Was going to stretch this one out over a few days, but with nothing to do this morning decided to go for a walk. Most places were not new to me, but some knowledge certainly was. Enjoyed the entire walk with nice weather and it didn't even take that long. All waypoints easy and straight forward, except O where the coords are good now, but I was looking at the wrong building, just assumed it would be the first shop and it wasn't. Worked out gz quickly and made the find spot on in a place close to were I expected gz to be.

What a great way to get to know Wollongong tftc

09-Jun-18
A loop trip down to Wollongong allowed me to pick off a handful of remaining caches on my map. Heading down today allowed me to attend an event too! The rain subsided and the day was very productive.

This one popped up a few nights ago. It was tempting to try this one on the night, but we had other plans to grab a cache on an island at sunset. Today was the perfect day to grab it. I had a good idea of where the cache might be, so I smashed out the waypoints and checked my results.

I had 2 figures I was unsure about but with the help of the Checksum, I was able to create 2 variables. Luckily only one looked good on the map, so I went for that spot. After a bit of stealthy searching, I came up with the find.

Thanks for the informative tour! This was a great use of local history. A nicely placed GZ too.

First attempt failure, however one of the coords is out,as FTF appears to have had the same trouble before eventually finding it.low battery on ipad forced me to discontinue effort, competed all WPs ,favourite point eventually when another attempt.

Waypoint co-ords for "O" (East Crown Street Shops) amended. Apologies for minor typo.
The description, which included the street numbers of the three shops, however should have placed you near the relevant buildings.

FTF!!!

After heading out on a cold and gloomy day with some friends, I was determined to get this FTF on a great multi

Going from way point to way point, getting caught up along the way at certain points we finally did the final way point and sat down to figure out the final coordinates.

First set of coordinates put in failed, this was stressful as I did NOT want to have to do the walk all over again to see where we went wrong

We sat down trying different number combinations where we could have made mistakes, even messaged the CO as we were stuck *she didn't reply so I didn't cheat Razz*

We sat back down again trying to go over where we went wrong and finally coordinates that seemed right finally popped up! I rushed over to GZ and finally saw the cache! I raised my arms in the air and finally rested. The cache was in hand with a clean log!!

Thanks mizmaz for this great hide and amazing walk around Wollongong and thanks to Minnie the Mouse and Paul for coming along and helping me get this FTF!
