#20167. I wanted a find today to tick over the May 17 numbers. Had an errand to run at lunch time, so opted for one that was (almost) on the way home (and one Troodles had already found). Cache container could do with some TLC (lid has become detached but is still in place; log book is full). The CO seems to have quit caching, so I might do a container replacement (cache is not far from home). TFTC.
Driving past for some kids errand in town and this one just happened to be there - why not eh? A quick dive and sign and done, that's it for the caching day. Cheers
8404. Dropped Iris off at the airport at 8am. Took me 2 hours to drive home - but I found 9/9 caches, sort of on the way! This was number two and a very easy one (this time!). Dived in between cars. Logsheet is very full. Thanks for the cache. Rodney.
Nice find while driving from cache to cache with woolwood9

Quick grab and dash thank you. Container starting to show its age and paper getting ready to be replaced soon.
Team BOP on another crazy mission again to the South Island. Lockdown gave us a lot of free time that we directed into Canterbury’s many Geo-Arts and with the Auckland 2020 Mega postponement, Christchurch was an easy decision. Team BOPs current incarnation is DavidsonClan, NZFlossy, McJandals and myself and we’ve signed all the logs as Team BOP to save time and log space.
So Labour Weekend 2020, it’s a numbers mission, the Cachly cut’n’paste template is sorted and while I unapologetically use this tool, I truly appreciate you placing this cache for us to find. This was a neat little cache, found quickly and in good condition thanks to accurate coords, a straight forward placement and a good hint. It was also a good warm up for the days of non-stop caching we've got planned.
Cheers Jess53nz, TFTC

With the Mega Covid cancelled this year a part of Team BoP decided to come south and try get all our solved puzzles. So here we are!
I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these cache. Many Thanks for bringing me here. Cheers.

On a mission to the south after mega in Auckland was canceled. Team Bop booked airfares and here we are. Thanks all COs for your efforts. Due to numbers please excuse copy and paste logs in advance.
As Auckland Mega has been postponed we decided to do a trip south to Christchurch. Four of us from Team BOP joined up to share a car and accomodation. I always love these weekends as the company is great and makes our days and nights out caching lots of fun. We have done lots of puzzles in preparation and did some long windy roads to get them. Found lots of great caches and thanks to all the COs for the effort that goes into these Please excuse the copied logs and I will try to make some individual notes on as many as I can This sort of trip is where I find the cachly app very valuable. With ABCDF4, eyespyben, and Gap (of Fap and Gap). Logging all finds as Team HRP (Huntly, Rotorua, Papamoa - Our hometowns)... During Covid-19 lockdown, we solved a truck load of puzzles around Christchurch - Canterbury region. No use thrashing the old grey matter for no cause - We decided we should make good on this handiwork...
There are lots of interesting trails and geoart surrounding Christchurch. What you aren’t told is how far flung some of these caches actually are. Some beforehand advice would have been great, so here are some of my notes... You’re welcome!
1. Mobile coverage is patchy, especially in those quiet, rural areas where it was most needed. Saving caches to offline might show that you are prepared and organised...
2. There are many dusty metal roads on the trails. The car will get messy, and your hair will feel like cardboard at the end of the day...
3. Suitable clothing and footwear are essential. You will climb in and out of hedges, gorse, and other rough stuff. You might get scratched, cut to shreds, and bleed a lot. It’s not advised to wear your brand new jacket on the day...
4. Take lots of food and drink. You’ll probably be head down, tail up and not realise you haven’t eaten until late afternoon. There are very few shops or gas stations out there...
5. Make sure that you secure keys and wallet and know where these are placed for easy retrieval. A full box of pens might be useful too, especially if you’re inclined to free some into the wild...
6. Know the difference between left and right, and north, south, east, and west. Turning right and heading north will not get you to South Christchurch quickly.
7. Look with girl’s eyes rather than boys eyes... Some caches haven’t been found in a while and you might have to get down on your knees to pray.
8. Always be prepared for misleading hints. This is what turns simple caches into D5/T5 hides... “Head height” could mean the cache is positioned at your toes.
9. Have a sense of humour and like the people you go caching with. It’s going to be a very long day, and you might want to hurt someone during the journey...
10. Make sure you can operate your phone/device and it doesn’t crash when you most need it...
11. Learn to cut and paste logs because you’re going to repeat this function so often when logging all of your finds.
12. Above all else, have fun and be kind...
We were guilty of some aimless wandering today - Not really purposeful, but hoping to be entertained nonetheless... Parked and walked. We had to wait for a very slow passerby, but soon had access to a quick find. Thanks Jess53nz and TFTC.

Down in Christchurch with the Squirrel, ABCDF4 and eyespyben. During Covid lockdown, we solved a load of puzzles and decided that this would be a good time to visit. We've enjoyed a few days of good weather and seeing the Canterbury countryside. The caches have been in varying states - some good, some not so much. Our time here has been a blast, and we'd like to thank all COs who have made this adventure possible. Thank you and TFTC.
After puzzle solving in the Canterbury region along with EyeSpyBen we were invited to join Fap (from Fap & Gap) and Squirrel Nutcase to a week long caching adventure in the Canterbury area. With flights and accommodation booked were off, all met up in ChCh. and many hard dusty Kms travelled and many caches found, I think the Squirrel has said it all in his brief. Many thanks for the placements and Cos for bringin us to the very pleasant areas we travelled in to your region

We have just spent a lovely week in Chch visiting our son's new house and tiki touring around the area and one day we went up to Hamner Springs and although we had sleet upon arriving up there we had a wonderful soak in the hot pools. One evening we went out for a stroll around the nearby streets and this was the closest trad cache and it was quickly located by an eager finder and it was quickly signed and returned and being nght time there were no muggles walking past.
thank you for this cache . I took nothing and left nothing.

One of four located on arrival in Christchurch this evening. A reasonably quick find. Couldn’t see it in the first corner but felt it in the second. #3192. TFTC.
Second attempt, my partner looked last time and came up with nothing. came with my son this time and he found it no problems !! Tftc
Nice easy park and grab, checked first corner... Not there... Second corner voila.

Nice and easy park and grab, could see cache on approach. On our quest for a 365 and 366-streak it was the perfect cache after a long and rather warm day at work. TFTC
That's the sort of cache I like, I didnt even need to get out of the car, Sir Belac brought it to me to sign. Thanks Jess53nz

Last cache for today, a quick find. Luckily no-one coming along the path to avoid. TFTC again Jess53nz.
Back in the big city for the weekend and have a few hours to kill before heading to the movies ...so have the boys navigating around the suburbs for a few caches.

In Christchurch for some family celebrations. Been here 2 full days without looking for a cache - thats unheard of! Thought I better rectify that as I headed to the airport to pick up the youngest son. Log full so just as well I can write very small. TFTC # 14,991
After a damp walk along the Rivertrail this morning collecting the last of our jewels we are now heading for home via some caches to go towards our last souvenir. This one was well hidden. The log was quite damp so after signing we put it in a bag so it future searchers wouldnt rip the log trying to remove it from the container. Thanks for the effort involved in placing and creating this cache for all of us to enjoy.
Hadn't done any geocaching since February and was in the area so had a quick look for this one. Lots of muggles walking by at this time of the day (3:15pm) Didn't find the cache but did collect up some lovely autumn leaves for a window display at church! Thanks for that. Rodney and Iris.
One of the fastest ones I've found yet, I've often driven past here thinking why they would put this pylon fest here! Good hide
Quick grab here today while slowly making my way back to the airport to drop off my rental car. Tftc
Helped some people with directions which was funny as I'm not from here. Tftc
My second cache on my across town journey today. Main difficulty here was crossing the road twice but mission accomplished without incident. TFTC .
A quick easy find, at this nicely camouflaged utility. We also gathered some chestnuts to use as spider repellent. TFTC
Found this one a year or so ago...but I forgot a pen...have finally made it back to sign it off TFTC!
Mrs SoBad did an afternoon walk to walk of a longish lunch. This was the second cache and now to head back to where she is staying.
Thanks.
Thanks.
On the way to lunch and my Aunty's from a fun swim at QEpooh and made a quick find here.
Thanks for the cache Jess53nz.

I arrived in town from Nelson for a couple of days work. As I had a bit of spare time before meeting up with colleagues, I went off to find a few caches. All good here. Cache found in the first place I checked. TFTC, Biggles.
Took two searches in the same place after widening my search. I need to trust my geo senses more! TFTC.
Stopped by today in the rain so no pedestrians around. The cache was a quick find. TFTC.
Found "en route" to work - ignoring the fact that this cache is in the opposite direction to work , so luckily not far from home.
It was indeed busy before 8am, but no-one was at the bus stop, and only motorists and bikes going past, no pedestrians to wonder why I was lurking there. Once I was in the right place, a quick find. TFTC.

Found this cache this evening quick find in the dark, just where I thought it would be, TFTC!
On a bit of a drive with the wee wombles so decided to stop here to make a find. No problems locating the cache today. Thanks for the cache.
Driving past the cache made me realise that I forgot to log my find from a wee while ago - so apologies for the late log and thanks for placing this cache!

We were in Christchurch visiting family and this cache was close by so walked to GZ for a quick find. TFTC.
Having just completed the Eclipse mystery series yesterday and opening about 75 eclipse tins, I never wanted to see another one!! So what did I get today?? 2 more on 2 out of 3 caches. Whateva!! TFTC Easy find as per hint.
TFTC. A few minutes spare to garb a couple caches.
Thanks Jess53nz fr placing the cache.
Thanks Jess53nz fr placing the cache.
Parking is really not an issue on a bike and with the heat there was a good excuse to rest in the shade. So a quick find, TFTC
Back in Chch for a few days for a wedding; I was hoping for a p&g so that I wouldn't get too wet (inclement weather) - this fitted the bill.
Thanks for placing & maintaining this cache, jess53nz.

My son noticed this cache pop up on our GPS as we were approaching was really really really wanted me to stop so he could find it. I like his enthusiasm he made the find quickly with the good coordinates and today we turn it into a smilie face. Thanks Jess53nz.
Merry Christmas and a 31'C day here in Christchurch!! Soon had the cache logged after getting the correct corner. Great landscaping takes your eyes away from the ugly substation etc. Tftc
15 December 2017 07:41. Yah.... this is the very last cache on my year long 4 caches a day challenge. Now just need to go to Nelson to collect it!

Cruising along had some time to kill, thought I'd just pull up here and see if there's an ache nearby, launched the app and boom! 15m away, looked around after reading the description and found the likely spot.
Left the phone and GPS in the car and went to where I thought the prize would be. Sure enough boom. Scored.

Thankfully a quick find on a rushed detour on the way in for a nightshift. The passing traffic couldn't care less but I thought I'd better wait for the car coming out of the driveway right across the road... bit more obvious to them. GLB1721 TFTC (3994)
A nice quick find, the hardest part was the U turn to get across the road! Cheers.
Ms KR unfortunately had to work this weekend, so I went for a few caches around town that needed a wee bit of time to finish off. Cheers.

More after work cache finding. Making the most of the fact that I've had to be starting work a little earlier since I can no longer run to work in the mornings & need to be dropped off instead, but daughters daycare still finishes at the same time, so noone even notices that mum & I actually have about half an hour each day to 'detour' on the way home lol!
This one actually took so much longer than it should have... was there all along, my eyes just weren't!

Early finish due to a physio appointment, and more time to cache! Just one more on the way home, TFTC!!
Parked up and found ourselves lacked in a minor traffic jam with a nasty accident ahead. However this was super little hide which presented no problems with muggles. Thanks. Enjoy the urban caches.
Quick find. Well placed. Thanks to all cache owners for placing and maintaining their caches. BJ25.
Quick find at the start of a Caching day around the City..All is good here.TFTH
We used to live just down the road so I knew just where I was going. There have been a few changes since then - it used to just be boring grass. No joy at the spot the coords took me to initially but I should have waited for the GPS to settle. When I decided to follow my geosense I went straight to it.

Had to stealthily grab this one as there were some muggles repairing a truck nearby on the roadside. THey were quite busy though and maybe wouldn't have noticed me anyway.

It took longer to wait for a break in the traffic to cross than it did to find the cache and sign the log. Found with AorakiSheep
I had some purchases to make at various parts of the city and once the shopping was complete I noticed as I drove home that I had this unfound cache up ahead. Well, I just had to stop. Gee, that road is busy - took me quite a while waiting for a break in the traffic before I could cross the road. When I finally got across it took me just a few seconds to locate the cache. A quick signing and then I was back on the roadside waiting for another break in the traffic. Once across the road I had to wait for another break in the traffic before I could access my vehicle. I was glad to get out of there. Anyway, thanks for the smilie Jess53nz.
A very welcome quick find (after some DNFs) - very nice plantings. Thanks for placing a cache here.
