DID NOT ATTEMPT! Walked up to the GZ spotted this snake looking at me. Please be careful and do not stick your hand where you cannot see!

30-Dec-22
Please exercise caution when looking for this cache, as the previous finder mentioned, there has been a snake in the area (although it wasn't there when i replaced the cache a few weeks ago).

The container is easy enough to reach without blindly sticking your hand inside a dark log, but remember - no smiley is worth risking your life for.

26-Dec-22
DNF… probably just too scared poking around in holes with the possibility of bugs/snakes. A beautiful spot to visit nonetheless!

18-Dec-22

08-Oct-22
Today, I joined E_Smiley with our plan to hike at Crows Nest National Park, targeting a few Q100 oldies that included Perseverance Pays No 1 and 2.
We had arranged to meet at Toogoolawah, and I elected to take the drive north of Lake Wivenhoe via Wivenhoe Outlook and Red Cedar. We took a few stops at the small cluster of geocaches north of Lake Perseverance that took longer than I had anticipated, and so we eventually arrived at Crows Nest National Park for our walk. The river and pools were great, but I hadn't anticipated the mapped track to essentially be non-existent, so it was a much tougher slog than I had thought. If that challenge wasn't tough enough, we thought we had just enough time to take a drive south to another Crows Nest National Park section, where we then hiked up to Perseverance Pays No 1. A friendly walk along fire tracks, but the last scramble section was challenging, but the views were terrific. We made it back to Toogoolawah well after our planned end time, but it was a fantastic day nevertheless.

Given the additional 10 minute drive to arrive here from Wivenhoe Somerset Road, this cache was on the maybe list, but as I was close to Hine Road, I made the last-minute decision to head to this peninsula. I largely had the area to myself, and after checking in a few obvious hidey holes, I soon had the cache in hand. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks jazjazzyjaz for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

30-Jul-22
Not quite watertight but good to find

23-Jul-22
Nobody at the lake so easy to look around GZ.

Quick find - as others have noted area must have been flooded, contents is saturated so have attached a pic.

Thanks

04-Jul-22
My third find! As previous comment says, paper items are worse for wear, but log is in good condition.

03-Jul-22
Out for a Sunday drive and decided to grab a few caches (hopefully) while out and about.
Thanks for bringing us to this beautiful spot.
Have never been here before and will definitely make a return trip.

Hardly a soul around today which makes for good caching! Was very careful placing my hand in as it looked like a great place for any sort of animal to make a home.
Found the cache but unfortunately it was filled with water. Sorry CO I didn’t have anything with me to dry it out or replace the zip lock bags. I did tip most of the water out but the paper items are a bit worse for wear. The log though is in good condition!

TFTC!

Good easy find especially with the rain rolling in quickly. No better way to spend your day off. Be careful of ants, quite a few of them scurrying around and over the cache.

What an amazing view! Stunning waters that feed our surround towns and city. TFTC!

04-Jul-21
Our second stop, and boy was the view here fantastic! Definitely somewhere I had never been before, and probably somewhere I would like to visit again. The colours reflected in the water and those highlighted in the native grasses by the afternoon light were astonishing.

We fooled around on the log at GZ for a little while the last few cars left the car park. I quickly made the find up one end, and returned it again whilst my partner and I attempted to see each other through the log.

All is good with this cache!

24-Mar-21
I’ve never been here before... and if the car park is any indicator this must get quite crowded at times... perhaps when there is enough water for the boat ramp to be open...

Today though I was the only person here... which made for ideal conditions to look for this cache... a quick find... I did replace the snap lock bags for the log and the swag... and I returned the plastic soldier that I found on the ground back into the swag bag... tftc... and for bringing me somewhere new...

Called in late in the afternoon following a bike ride out of Rosewood. By now the temperature had dropped to a pleasant 34 C much cooler than the 37 C while we were out on the bikes.

No soul to be seen anywhere out this way this afternoon. The Lake is certainly looking a tad low these days as well. Cool

Most people think Sergeant Colon is fat, stupid, lazy and cowardly, but you don’t get by in the Night Watch for all these years of you don’t know how to spot tension brewing. Fred is a master at it and always makes
Sure that he’s on the other side of the city.

It didn't take us very long to locate the cache and with our names added to the log book, we continued on our way.

Nice spot. Quiet today. Once I got over my brown snake paranoia it was easy to find.

19-Sep-20
My partner and I decided to grab this one as it's at a location we haven't been to before and it's right on Wivenhoe Dam. I'm pretty sure their was meant to be an event here earlier this month, but was cancelled due to the Covid restrictions, I was looking forward to it, so seeing as we're out this way we'd stop off and grab the cache.

It was a quick find, so I'm unsure how the others missed it? Says the one that can't simple ones to. Dooh!!!

Thank you for bringing us to this side of Wivenhoe Dam. It's looking a little low unfortunately, but with La Nina now in effect we could have some decent rain falls coming soon, fingers crossed!

A Saturday drive to spend some $$ in Paddy Palin in the city and we took the long way home via some old haunts. Although this particular spot neither of us had been to before. The weather kept the hoards away although there are a handful of people using the park today.
A quick find sign and replace just as it started spitting with rain again.

As I remember last visit here was for a sailing club regatta and I got the impression the area was leased to the sailing club and locked when not in use. A brief visit today ( when I found the gates would be open) and the cache was soon in hand. Well, to be honest I spent quite a while trying to entice snakes or other biting things before locating the cache. Added to the loga, and replaced with suitable cammo cover. Looks like a good spot for a picnic, but another day. TFTC, jazjazzyjaz or is it (jaz) cubed?

16-May-20
Out day tripping after COVID iso. Have regularly been to Wivenhoe but never to Billies Bay. What better reason than to grab a cache!! A quick find, all is good with the cache. Thanks for placing!

03-May-20
Given the green light from Anna that I could travel within 50ish kms from home with 1 friend, I delighted in this new given luxury. So where could we, wombles being my plus one, venture? I checked the map and soon had a plan. You can certainly travel a long distance within a 50km radius from my house! I picked up my partner in crime and off we sped on our first day of freedom Big Grin

Having no luck in finding a park on Mt Glorious, I’ve never seen it so busy, we continued on to this location. Yay! The mass hoards had not made it this far, there was only a sprinkling of muggles. Seeing as there was an available picnic table we decided to enjoy our afternoon tea here. A lovely little spot except it was blowing a gale.

After our munchies we headed to GZ and poked around for a while, finally locating the well hidden beasty.

Thanks for the cache jazjazzyjaz Big Grin

03-May-20
Freedom! Nyssaflutterby and I planned a day as soon as we were allowed to be out for recreation, mapping out an area within 50kms of home.
What a great place to stop for afternoon tea, only a small handful of people and lots of peace and beautiful views.
After afternoon tea we checked all the wrong places for the cache before locating it.

01-Feb-20
Unfortunately, there is a strong odour of urine at GZ and I don't think it comes from the nearby toilets. I can only assume people use GZ as a toilet when the cubicles are full. I took the trackable. Thanks for the cache

30-Dec-19
Quick and easy find. Beautiful place here and so quiet today. TFTC

14-Dec-19
After enjoying the view and having a wade in the water we went to the GZ and after poking around a bit the cache was in hand. Dropped off a trackable as well. Cache no. 128!
