Our visit to this curious Lost City was not complete without a lookfor this cache and we found it.Team Mavos Albert and Maria
Answers sent to the cache owner for review and approval. Interesting earthcache here. Fabulous location. Loved the three story sections of the city in the bush. We named several arches as the gates to the harem. Lots of harems.Freddo and e.gregory1 were heading up the middle of Australia following Stuart's well trodden route. We were travelling in air conditoned comfort and style. No stale food. No camels to carry water. We were leaving the cold winter for the northern season.Today was the day to find this cache. Today is the seventh day of Augustus Caesar's Month in the wonderful year of twenty twenty four. We found your cache container and added some inky stuff to the paper sheet or note pad you have supplied for a log book or scroll. The cache container and log book or scroll were in good condition. It was so hot. No wind today. With the log signed and the cache replaced it was time to leave. Onwards to the next cache. Woot, that is not to far.I would like to show my respect and acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land, and their continuing connection to it. I wish to pay my respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and to Elders past, present and emerging.I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count and winning that one hundred word diamond badge again. Somebody moved the goal posts. So many caches to find. So many caches to log. We find them, sign them and replace them. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. We do apologise for the generic logs. Thanks to all the cache owner for placing this cache here for our enjoyment. Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke fr den Cache. Gracias por el cach. I completed this earthcache on a trip from Adelaide to the top end with Freddo for a few weeks. It was very warm wandering around here this afternoon, but worth it to see the rock formations. I think this is the fourth lost city I have visited in the NT over the past few years! Thanks TeamThommo for another informative earthcache and another favourite point from me.
What a brilliant place to visit, quite awe-inspiring and so many different types of rocks. Big thanks to TeamThommo for placing this earth cache. Cache number 9614 on July 26, 2024Favourite point awarded.
OCW PelDroedGwin Exploring the National Park today. A fascinating location that was really fun to explore. Answers sent to CO. Tftc
While staying at Batchelor we did a day trip into Litchfield Park,
Visited a couple of EC caches all quiet different. Exp,ored the area & noted the information required .
What a great day, some of the roads were really rough but worth continuing on to the GZ
FP for this amazing area.
Thanks to the COs for the location of their EC

While in Litchfield did some touring around and visited the Lost City. An amazing place, and well worth the visit. Wandered around taking lots of photos and gathering information. Answers submitted and received a reply, so now logging the find.
Fave for this one.

After visiting Florence and Buley, we drove to the Lost City. They say ‘high clearance’ 4WD needed, we did it in our rental Prado, but our Forester would have eaten it up, it is pretty tame.
After a long search for the traditional here, we cooled off with the EC.
Answers prepared and will be sent as soon as data connectivity allows….

We’re staying in Litchfield/Batchelor for a few days, and with lots of time we’re touring the area by finding all the caches around! We’ve had a great time finding all the caches around and visiting all the great spots!
This one was a fun one, after a nice walk around we gathered some answers and took a few photos before heading on to Tolmer Falls… Pic attached and answers will be sent later tonight.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache TeamThommo

Today we decided to visit the lost city we have visited a few others and they are all different. A nice short walk studying the rocks.
Thanks for putting this earth cache here for us to learn about this area more.

Although we have visited the lost city before, it was nice to return and explore the area.
A recent fire has cleared the area and some logs were still smouldering, giving us an eerie feeling as we drove in.
We made our observations and are logging with permission.
Many thanks TeamThommo for creating this earthcache and highlighting this location.

A trip to the Lost City in Litchfield National Park was at the top of the bucket list.
Doing a little research, we realised one definitely needs a high clearance vehicle to get there over there 10km in. Sadly… our faithful car was just not up to the trek.
We figured we might not have the opportunity to come back this way again, and while Mr Domsky’s knees are still good just prior to getting closer to being an octogenarian, we thought we’d better find a way in on foot.
Finding a small and disused service road we walked our way through a number of kilometres in the winter heat of 33°.
We often listen to audiobooks as we travel so we decided to turn up the volume and listen to a book as we walked the 6+ km into the Lost City.
We knew the walk would be worth the effort, as we were so keen to see this remote and beautiful place.
Armed with plenty of water and some fruit, the whole place seemed like magic as we sat and refreshed ourselves before exploring the area.
Having visited Cambodia and Angkor Wat, we were reminded of some similarities in the beautiful rock. While Angkor Wat is man-made structures, these are just a totally natural phenomenon of nature.
The walk was beautiful…long and hot, but we felt privileged to be able to witness this beauty.
And… yes, we discovered an earth cache. Another of TeamThommo’s, whose earth caches we seem to follow in this part of the world.
Well, this one was a joy. A FP. Thanks for encouraging us to explore further.

A 2 month/11,000km road trip up north to Darwin, where it’s a lot warmer than here, Mrs Boomajarril & I packed up the caravan, geo-dogs, and left the 9°C cold weather behind. Found with Team Betsy after a 4WD trip off road. We stayed at Batchelor for a week and many other places from Victoria to Darwin. Such an awesome trip.
We enjoyed the drive in and exploring the city. Litchfield is an amazing place!!

We were here 11 years ago to explore and find the "lost city" cache where we were amazed to find the following:
"A very quite place and when we finally found the cache we heard a haunting pipe - like a Japanese pipe. So we looked around and there on one of the pillars was a man playing this haunting sound on his bamboo pipe. We left him alone and just took some photos."
No pipe players today, but we did hear a kite!
Thanks TeamThommo.

Today our tour - which began in Perth, WA , and led us thru Western, Northern and Southern Australia back to Perth, was simply driving around in the Litchfield NP.
On the way we came to some interesting locations. Here we searched, found and logged this Earth-Cache.
Weather was good in the morning and it should even get better during the day.
Thanks to 'TeamThommo' for showing us this location, for the fun we had with 'Poseidon Rules the Lost City' and for the smiley. The search to get the answers here and today didn't take too much time, fortunately.
Greetings from Germany and we hope to see you soon in the forest, prairie, desert or outback .

This cache was found today and brings our overall cache find tally to 9795. We found this as part of our 2018 Round Australia trip.
We took the bit of a long drive out to this one today but it was well worth it. We wandered around the area for about 1.5 hours teaching the kids lots of geology based things. Our eldest child had the grump's saying it doesn't look like a city, just a bunch of old rocks. We enjoyed it though. Answers have been sent via the message centre.

On our way through Australia Clematius and I visited a lot of very interesting places. We spent quite some time on Earthcaches but we found some traditional caches, too. Thanks to all owners for showing unique places and for hiding and maintaining.
While discovering Litchfield National Park ElizaBennet and I did some geocaching as well. Thanks a lot for showing to TeamThommo.

Just got an email with confirmation from the co that our answers were accepted and so that we can claim the ftf here!
The surroundings were absolutely magnificent! It really feels like you're walking in a lost city here, straight from an Indiana Jones movie or something! We loved strolling around here and we took many, many great pictures! Absolutely unique place in the Outback! (05 - FTF 12/10/17)
