Great night. Thanks for organising Griffo. Loved the movies. A lot of effect and thought out into them.
Great to see everyone as well
Great to see everyone as well
We took an enjoyable weekend road trip down from Brisbane with Nobby's Nuts to attend the screening.
I don't think there would be too many other GIFF events around the world which could boast having 2 of the nominees in attendance. We were proud to say that we knew them both.
It was a great night of entertainment and food and of course our picks for the winners were the local productions. It is a pity that the lackeys did not agree with us. Congratulations of putting together a couple of great clips and we look forward to your contributions to next years show.
Thanks for getting us all together again.

Such an enjoyable night! Thanks Paul and Jane for organizing the evening. It was lovely to see so many people attend. Congratulations Richard & Kerrie (aka LLJ & Pigwig2) on a great effort. I wonder what next year will bring?
Have had this event on my to do list as I couldn't make it last year. Started wending my way down here on Friday by a different route than originally planned. (did a couple of hundred km's detour to snaffle a joint FTF on a lovely new virtual so that was a great start to the weekend). It was a lovely scenic journey down picking up caches here and there along the way and also picked up a second hand surf ski at a garage sale in Casino of all places. Now I can do some of those caches that require a watercraft, bonus! That detour put the planned ETA in Lismore behind somewhat so I only just had time to have a quick dinner to keep the stamina up before we went in to see the films. I had been to another GIFF event a few days beforehand but was helping with the catering there so saw far more dirty dishes than films at that one. Only had to empty the plate here so was able to join everyone to watch the films. We were honored to have the two Australian finalists in the audience so that was special. We enjoyed all the films especially the ones from our home grown stars, great work! Of course it wouldn't be a proper geocaching event if there wasn't a catchup and chat afterwards and then a mass exit into the darkness to pick up a cache or two which most of us did. Smiles and smilies all round.
Thank you to Paul and Jane for putting this event on, it was a great weekend.

Not long after I started geocaching, I went on a road trip. On that trip, I met a couple from Lismore at a cache (Sorry, I no longer remember their names.) They told me of some great caches in and around Lismore. Ever since then, Lismore has been on my bucket list of places to go caching. Sadly, I had not managed to visit......until now. When I heard about the GIFF event here, I pulled out all the stops and decided to make a weekend of it.
I managed to knock off work at lunch time on Friday. I then picked up some caching buddies and we braved the trafffic down the M1 into NSW. We then took a meandering route to Lismore, collecting caches along the way.
Saturday saw us out and a bout early. We added our names to some of the logbooks in the area. Then back to the motel to shower and change, then off to the GIFF event,
We had time to grab a bite to eat and to chat with other cachers before we moved to the room to watch the GIFF films. The entries were very creative, some making me laugh and one that brought a tear to my eye. (I really am a softie). I have my favourites, as I am sure we all do. Best of luck to all the entrants.
Thanks, Griffo, for holding the event and bringing me to Lismore to find some really fun caches. I will be back again to find the ones that I ran out of time to find on this trip.

It is the week of the GIFF. Geocaching International Film Festival. [^]
I am trying to go to as many events as I can. The Lismore event is the next viewing of the GIFF films.
As always it is great to catch up with my friends from down this way.
AND those friends that have travelled from further afield.
Thanks for the event Griffo ( Giffo?? )

FTF Whoo hoo. Who would have thought that no one else had already logged attendance. I did mine as we were about to watch the films. Missed this last year so looking forward to this years efforts.
A great lot of videos. Some wonderful company and a fun night was had by all I would think. Thanks Griffo for organising it.

Great night with new and old friends. Hopefully after this event my Boyfriend will start to love it as much as I do. Thanks for organising it Griffo!!
Thanks for a well attended event. Nice to see the Notherners support little old Lismore. A fun night out with good friends.
Thanks
Thanks
Such a great night that we enjoyed tonight with many geocaching friends. So glad we made the journey down. Found a few caches, placed a few, and thoroughly enjoyed the Giff Event films. How proud we were that Lat&Long and Pigwig2 were both featured as finalists! Such great short films they entered which well deserved their finalist placings. Thanks for all the efforts from everyone that made tonight such a fun evening. Cheers and happy caching!
An Event by Team Griffo - I'll be there. Oh... so what's it for now?
LocutusOfBris (read: basically a muggle but has an account from 2010) and I turned up relatively early.
I was so pleased to catch up to share laughs with my northern NSW friends - and my QLD friends as well! It was good to meet a few new faces and discuss all things geocaching. The dinner was fantastic and tasty.
Despite my glaringly obvious bias for our two homegrown GIFF finalists (and two people I am proud to call my friends), I really enjoyed all the movies that were shown. Everyone should be proud of the effort they put into their films. The messages delivered in them were inspiring - and remind us why we do this "geocaching" thing.
(I have a special place in my heart for the Japanese entry. A cache I did in Japan got a mention - [GC56M9R Red Torii](https://coord.info/GC56M9R).)
Congratulations to those who won prizes via Griffo's super fantastic random number generator

The things a Fangsoki has to do : I'll log this one for LocutusOfBris - as he is incredibly slack.
Dave did genuinely enjoy himself and meeting everyone... and seeing the movies. Dave thanks you, Team Griffo

Thanks Griffo for another great event. The films were fantasic as usual, although the Aussie films were certainly in another class to the other entries. Good luck guys!
We took a scenic route from Mullumbimby via Repentance Creek and Dunoon Roads. Sure wish I'd come by motorbike .
We enjoyed a dinner with hosts Mr & Mrs Griffo and some new and old caching friends before heading into the private viewing room to watch the GIFF entries. As they played, I suddenly realised that my film was being played all over the world this weekend .
That got my nerves tingling, I tell you. I don't think I've been that nervous since my wedding day .
Afterwards, so many people said nice things and offered congratulations and on top of that, I won a prize in the lucky draw after the films. There was some discussion about the randomness of the draw, but let's not go there .
Thank you Paul for organising this event. Thank you everyone for your kind words.
See you next year? ... I hope so.

What a fabulous night this was, we enjoyed the Lismore GIFF last year and when Griffo organised this one we couldn't not attend. The venue food and company was all top class. We caught up with some friends from NSW and from QLD, met up with new friends and had a great movie to boot. It was great to finally get to see all the other entries and what great work everyone had done on their film. Regardless of the winner, I think every entrant should be proud to be a finalist in such a wonderful community.
Thanks again Griffo and Mrs Griffo for putting on this event.

Have dropped out of Geocaching for awhile but really missing it. Will be good to catch up with everyone and get back into it again!
As one of the 2 GIFF Finalist from Australia its would be fitting that I be in attendance with Mr AGap, thanks for organising the event
I believe Richard and I have a weekend in Lismore coming up.
