Well this is certainly one of the stranger locations for a container that I’ve encountered. And it was an epic saga trying to access it.
The park was absolutely flooded with small children and parents. I hung around GZ, trying not to look suspicious, and when the coast was clear I ducked inside.
Was very surprised to see houses very close, and thought my coordinates must’ve been out and that I had Made a mistake with my calculations.
I came away from GZ and read few logs and then decided I was in the right place. So when I went again. Next minute two little girls followed me in. Looking very inquisitive as to what I was doing. Luckily they got bored and ran off, and I was able to make the find after circling for awhile.
This series has been wonderful.
Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Found this cache yesterday on my way back from picking something up in Caulfield and forgot to log it. This cache has been solved for quite some time but the first time I went to collect it the park was full so I could not acquire it without being seen. This time was different and I was able to go find the hidden cache pretty easily. Thanks for this series and for this cache, thoroughly enjoyed it

Find #11267

Headed out today with beckNmonts and the geopup crocodile Manfred Wolfgang. Just a random caching day, finding whatever we came across.

Nice to be able to put a smiley to this one.

Thanks to jupiterpearl for the cache.

Big things are continuing to happen! *Are you joining the fun again in 2021?*

I decided it was time that we found this bonus cache. So off we went, collecting information at certain caches among the way. Manfred the geodog was along for the ride. Thanks for placing the cache jupiterpearl, it’s a great series.

A quick hop away from the last cache and we found this one in good order in a lovely little park. Tftc.

04-Jul-20
We visited the three caches and got the numbers, then we put them in and got our coordinates. At GZ something caught my eye immediately and I found the cache.

After a very unmotivated day of sitting at home, whilst out of work in this tough time and bored after a little Marie Condo; I remembered I had all the clues for this mystery!! Turns out GZ is a fifteen minute walk. Winning!! ScoMo I’m heading out for exercise!
Thanks for the history lesson along the bike trail and for the hidden location. In future times it will make a great place to relax with a book or bring some kids to visit. Thanks for keeping your cache active to bring a bit of happiness

We did the lead up to the cache and found where it took us. A bit further than usual but we went there and found it!

Found GZ, but as with most parks, it attracts mini-Muggles, and one particular mini-Muggle really didn't want to leave. Eventually fear of being left behind enticed her to follow her family out of the park and I headed in to find the cache. I also wasn't expecting it to be as close to houses as it is, and fortunately the residents were all inside while I found the cache, signed the log, and escaped again.
Thanks so much to jupiterpearl for the fantastic cache series!

We had done so many that we needed to get this one as well.
Did the sums and found our prize. (a little closer to the residences than we were expecting).
Thanks jupiterpearl.

Having collected the required clues for this one some time ago, I finally sat down and crunched some numbers. Establishing the co-ords for the GZ, I went out today to find the cache. Could not have picked a colder day if I tried. With my trusted beanie on, I parked my car in the street and made my way into the lovely little park here. Approaching the GZ I could see the cache was visible from afar which made for a very quick find. There were no muggles here to disturb or to be disturbed by. Signed the log and had a look through the various trinkets inside the cache. Took nothing.
It certainly is a beautifully maintained well looked after park here. Manicured gardens and a nice little playground for kids to play in. I did see a little bronze sculpture of what I think must have been a residents pet that was significant enough for the council to allow its placement here.
Thank you for the cache and history lesson of the sugar beet Mill here jupiterpearl

This was certainly a strange find! When we arrived to GZ, there were no muggles around so we didn't think we'd have any problems. However, just as we were about to return the cache to its spot, an old lady began asking what we were doing. We told her we were bike riding, which is true, but our bikes were around the other side of the bush and so she asked to watch us bike ride. We quickly walked off to wait for her to go away, but a gardener then arrived and began talking to us. He seemed to have a few loose screws, but was nice to us anyway. Surprisingly, he even asked us if we were Geocaching. Once we were done with that, we got the cache back in place without any trouble. TFTC

I had completed the caches with the required information to solve this last year. As were were nearby today but without the these we revisited RR1, RR2 and RR3 to collect what we needed and the proceeded to the calculated destination. The GPSR took a little while to settle down but we soon located the conatiner. It was all quiet in this nice little park so there were no problems with the search. Thanks for the cache and the series.

25-Aug-19
Checked today. In place all good to go.

29-Jul-19
Having completed most of the series I looked bak on my notes and found I had not recorded the necessary information to complete this puzzle. So back I went and collected the clues needed to solve the math. With this new information I quickly manipulated a set of coordinates and putted off in the geo-lopy to gather the prize. GZ is in another wonderful park with many an interesting thing for the young and young at heart, set well back of the arteries of the daily grind. Thank you for the history and the cache. TNLNSL. (1 March 2019 - 29 February 2020). Stopped here after work to get a smiley. Thanks for the fun.

That should have been easier. The hide is nice but not all too complicated when you know where to look for it. The coordinates are really bouncy though.

19-May-19
Promising place, but possibly wrong coordinates?

19-May-19
Thanks to the owner for confirming our coordinates; we searched with renewed confidence, and voila! Wink. Bouncy reception, but in the end it was easy once we looked in the right place. Wink

Found this one today as we had managed to work on a few required caches gathering the required information and thanks to spot on co-ord's we had the good sized cache in hand. I recall doing another cache a few years ago out this way as l had a strange deja vu of visiting this area previously. Even though there were a few muggles not too far from us we were still tucked away enough not to draw any attention. Thanks jupiterpearl for the series and the hide.

28-Jan-19
For my 5th discovery of the day, I headed to the carefully collected and calculated coordinates for this mystery cache. The fact I was taken to a cute little park seemed promising, although I wasn't convinced the coords were pointing me to the right spot. They were! I had to wait a little for some blokes sitting on a park bench to move before trampling on the garden... then I came out of there to sign... then I had to wait for some people walking through to go so I could replace it. (Again, the thoughts about 40-something women trampling into the bushes.)

I there anything better than a mystery on a trail. Yes there is. A mystery I can solve. Great series of caches.

Hey...this makes a record for my number of finds in a month! Thanks!

Makes me feel better after only getting to Yeti on Magical Creatures.

Never thought I'd get this. Certainly not today. It wasn't the plan...but the three caches happen to be between where I was and where I was going. I HIGHLY recommend the mini-series for a few hours of fun.

Thanks again.

After finding some of the Rosstown Railway Series a fortnight ago, I thought I'd head out into the sunshine to grab some more. After collecting the numbers at RR#1 and #2, I realised that I hadn't collected the number at RR#3 when I did it two weeks ago. So back there I went and grabbed the numbers, then calculated GZ. It didn't look good on the map, but I headed there and it checked out. Found nice and quickly.

My thanks to jupiterpearl for the cache.

Found at 14:34
Last time I came past for a look it was about 3:30 on a sunny Friday afternoon and there were LOTS of mini muggles about. Today it was cold and wet so the area was deserted and I was able to make a quick find at gz.
Thanks jupiterpearl for the series and the cache.

Very relieved to not have DNF'd this cache. I needed a puzzle cache for a particular streak challenge cache I'm working towards and I thought that with two solved puzzles reasonably local to me I'd be set. Not so. In desperation (I wanted to keep this in reserve) I gathered the required information by torchlight and took a drive to GZ.
After hunting around for a bit and having visions of three puzzle based DNFs in the one day I decided to change approach slightly and quickly located the cache. After moving away from the border to do the duties I noticed a couple of torches in the nearby play equipment so I walked back to the car in order to sign the log and give the muggles time to vacate the area.
Sure enough there was no torchlight emanating from the play area so I replaced the cache and returned to the car. Hopefully the sight of a man popping into the bushes at night and shining a torch around was enough to dissuade them from investigating the area by daylight.
Thanks for placing the series, jupiterpearl. It was a pleasure to not have to drive across town for my daily fix.

Thanks for the cache jupiterpearl.

This was the final cache in the series and my final cache for the day. It was just after lunch time and the weather had started to turn better, so I wasn't sure what to expect at GZ. To my amazement, there was just me. With the place to myself I wandered in and was pleased to quickly spot something that looked promising. Yep, it turned out to be the cache.

Thanks to jupiterpearl for this cache and all the caches in the series. It is a great way to explore the trail along here!

05-May-18
I keep making the mistake of goi g for this cache when it is warm and sunny and the area is full of muggles. Today was suitable cold and overcast, so I had more luck. After fighting with the gps gods for a bit, I saw what I needed and made the find. I always feel so proud when I find a cache with many parts and previous requirements, the extra work makes it more rewarding. Thank you so much for the series, and I’ll go find the other stand alone Rosstown Rails!

This is my second day in a row travelling to Melbourne from Geelong to enjoy finding a few caches.
On the way up we passed through some light rain but then the rest of the day was full sunshine.
While in the area today two new caches were published so a couple of FTF's was a complete surprize. This has only happen twice in my 14 years of caching, we were in Apollo Bay about to head for Geelong and a new cache was published only a few hundred metres ahead.
After noting the numbers required we headed off the new co-ords and the prize was soon located.
Thanks jupiterpearl for this placement.

29-Apr-18
Suscoe headed out for a day of caching fun in the inner south east of Melbourne with our great mate Bushfire.
Little did we know what this had had in store but a couple of FTF surprises greeted us during the day!
Always a bonus.
We enjoyed a delightful Autumn day with sunshine, a cool temperature, great cache locations and we learned a bit along the way about this area.
Thanks to jupiterpearl for this most interesting insight into this gigantic project which never seemed to go very far.

*11/4/18, Found @ 6:19 pm, Find # 7795.*

I was on my way to somewhere else and I was passing close by to this one so seeing that I had already gathered the info to solve it I figured that I should now find it.
I headed into the GZ area which wasn't a spot that I wanted to spend too much time at so lucky for me the cache was in the first placed I looked, the log was signed and I was out of there.

**Thanks to jupiterpearl for placing this cache.**

I came past for a look this afternoon but at 4:00 the place was literally crawling with mini muggles so I kept driving. I'll try again at a different time of day.

Find #3292. Found @ 17:28 with j-bean

A few nights ago, I fumbled around in the dark looking for this cache, but came away empty handed. Today was a different story. J-bean and I decided to get out of the house... well, I decided to get out of the house and I dragged j-bean begrudgingly with me.

Once in the GZ area, we found that there were more muggles around at this time of day than in the dead of night. None the less, we walked around the area to divert suspicion, then ducked into GZ and made the quick find. With the log quickly signed, we moved on. On the way back to the car, I noticed all the adult eyes on the two of us. Perhaps I was not as inconspicuous as I thought, although it was probably that we were only at the park for a few minutes.

Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.
Thanks for the cache jupiterpearl

people moved on makeshift camp no longer there - replacement cache - good to go no change in position

23-Mar-18
Checked today and I know why muggled - homeless people / party goers decided to camp at GZ -! and cache is missing despite good hide - sorry as proletarian challange on - will endeavour to replace soon at location or new GZ

DNF @00:20

I had the coordinates for this one for a while after visiting the other caches, but was going past(ish) on the way home so decided to stop. I was a little concerned about the area I was looking in, as it seemed close to houses, so I went to check my calcs. True to form, just as I pulled out my phone to check the photos, it ran out of go-juice.

I decided to look for a bit longer in my presumed location, but I didn't have full confidence in my numbers so soon gave up. I did, however, find an empty gatorade bottle with a piece of hose and an ravaged tub of chocolates. I think there was a "special" party had here.

Thanks anyway jupiterpearl

19-Mar-18
The calculations seemed straightforward but I was led to somewhere I didn't have the courage to loiter. Thanks nevertheless jupiterpearl!

25-Feb-18
We found this cache today as number 12 of 14 on our Namatjira to Rosstown Tour. Thought that we would go back and get the puzzle cache before moving on after having worked it out. Did not realise until we got to the park and recognised it straight away, that we had been here already twice before on other caching expeditions. At GZ, saw what we thought was a cache marker only to realise on inspection that it was not, then just as I was about to back away, realised that our initial thought was indeed correct and we had nearly missed the cache in that spot. That would have ended up being a long search in other spots before we came back to this spot again. Thanks from D & HA B-A

12-Jan-18
I thought I would find aome cache ritch areas not too far from work and this area came up. Looking at this I found I needed clues but had previously found one of the series but did not get the clue. So today I got the other 2 plus the clues for the 3rd. Worked out a GZ. Looked good. But when I arrived there it was not a likely spot. Redid the sums and found my mistake. Now a 200m drive and a better GZ. A few muggles but made the find. Nice series. Fav guven. Thanks to jupiterpearl for placing this cache.

03-Jan-18
Having visited the three necessary sites I had the appropriate values and a likely hiding place. A quick search yielded the prize and another of the nearby caches disappears off my map

30-Dec-17
Got it before the rain came again.

28-Dec-17
I had found one of this series a while ago but faltered after that and only got back today on a short afternoon holiday break to look for #1 and this puzzle final. I had all the numbers I needed but in (my) classic style I botched them into a plausible (but quite incorrect) GZ. Having checked that out to no avail I redid my numbers and sheepishly headed off to the real GZ. One other adult lazing in the sun but I was shielded from view and managed to make a quick find here. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the cache and the sereis jupiterpearl.

Really enjoyed doing this mini series with the varied hides. Loved learning about this area. Thanks for the caches here.

Gathered all the clues, did the math and made our way to this “interesting” location. Removed and disposed of the food from the cache.
Thankyou jupiterpearl for placing this cache here for us to find.

Today we found ROSSTOWN SUGAR BEET CACHE on our travels.
Having collected some clues previously we made our way to a promising looking set of co ordinates. The Chief believes he may have had a ftf on a cache that once inhabited this area. Very peaceful it was this afternoon!
Thanks jupiterpearl for being part of our geocaching fun.

09-Dec-17
Having found the clue for the previous three caches, we had a reasonable set of coordinates (I wasn't sure at first as this particular park wasn't clearly visible on my GPS so I thought we might have had the second clue muddled - double checking proved that not to be the case). Arriving at this familiar location - have been caching here at least once previously - we headed to GZ where after a brief search as stealthily as we could I located the cache container Smile A favourite point from me for a fun little series and the opportunity to revisit the rail trail - one day I must actually do it on two wheels... Wink

09-Dec-17
Found with Quiet1_au on this warm afternoon. We had found the other 3 caches and collected the clues. We were not sure of the clues but the numbers looked ok. At Gz there was a muggle nearby but not too close to Gz. Once there Q soon had the cache. Thanks jupiterpearl

This was the final of four finds for the morning, all jupiterpearl hides, and was a satisfying conclusion to my mini-adventure.

While I'd only found two of the three other caches specifically associated with this mystery cache today (circumstances made #2 in the series a non-starter) it was still possible to collect clues for all, and so with final co-ords worked out a quick check via satellite view showed that GZ did indeed look a highly likely location.

Arriving at GZ I was disappointed to see a couple of muggles nearby, however a little patience saw them eventually sit facing almost directly away from where I was planning to search, and so with a touch of stealth it was possible to search and the container was duly found and log signed.

Thanks again for the cache and the adventure, jupiterpearl. It's really great to have some new caches around this area again - fave point awarded.

Quick find on this hot afternoon. Not a muggle in sight due to the scorching sun. Perfect time to find this one. TFTC

14-Nov-17
With Zedaycee out for our daily cache. This one was quick and easy. Its so hot there are no little muggles playing in the park.

05-Nov-17
We had attempted this cache after working out the coords yesterday during a big walk around the local area, but something didn't seem right... as it was getting late we had to reluctantly leave and once home a quick check revealed my coords were out by a fraction. So back we came today with corrections and lo and behold, there was the cache, found by Miss A. Enjoyed doing neighbourhood caches. TFTC

Great end to a great series of caches. Worthy of a favourite point from me. Good way to fill in time while Muggle partner fills in LEGO into plastic cups. Thanks to CO.

Stupidly, I had forgotten to collect the required information at #1 so I had to ride back to the start. I then sat down and worked out some numbers for this final. Arriving at GZ, I was glad there was no one around...but there was someone sitting in their flat above looking near the window. Thankfully, she was engaged and I could search happily. Spotted something which turned out to be hiding the cache.
Thanks jupiterpearl. An interesting piece of history and a fun series. A favourite from me.

Nicely hidden at GZ. Enjoyed this little series, and a beaut container at the final with an obvious but seldom used dampness control mechanism.
I think this is the first series I've done where you could DNF all the series but still find the clues to get to the final. Fav point from me.
**Thanks for placing this cache jupiterpearl.**

I usually have a couple of spare hours on a Saturday morning so these 4 new caches were perfect to go and hunt for. I did consider going for these on the FTF night but knowing n0w0rries was about 5 kilometres closer to these than me I didn't bother and it looks like it was a good thing. Besides I was about to go to sleep anyway when they were published.
There was a bit of on and off light rain today but it kept stopping each time I stopped at each cache which was really quite amazing.

Just as I arrived here I remember a few years ago I found a cache in this park. However there were a few muggles around but luckily only 30 seconds later they left so into the bushes I ducked and made a nice quick find.
A great series with the themed cache hides so I giving this one a favourite.
Thanks jupiterpearl for the cache, the puzzle, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

Thanks for a fantastic night, jupiterpearl.

To make money in the 1880s required one outlay. Build a railway. This could transport people from the expanding city to within an area. Land values would increase 10 fold. Victoria's soon to be premier, Thomas Bent, built the railway to Brighton which made him a instant millionaire. He repeated the process later until the depression left him only required to pay 1 penny in the pound for his debt. Corruption had won this battle.
Anyway during this bubble, Ross looked forward to wealth in a railway line for both people and now produce. But the bubble was about the burst. The railway never established itself. Ross speculation gamble didn't pay and again punters lost it all.
From gold, Melbourne and its rising population had gone from the richest country in the world to deep depression in 2 decades.
From this brief boom period Mebourne's structure had been established including all the beautiful buildings, with many still remaining.
Corruption and greed only prevented this Railway line from fully establishing itself.
Thought you might like to know.

With the home and away season completed, the statistics were compiled. A new destination entered and the TIGGERTRAIN lurched out from under the grandstand. Next stop South Korea... What! Wait a minute. That can't be right.
They don't even play AFL!
Alright. Ah, I see what happened there. Perhaps if we substitute a local degree and try again.
Ahh. Yep.
That looks better.
Away we go for the Grand Final.
Full steam ahead!
Argh! The carpark's full.
A quick lap and a finals spot was reserved - as players resumed the field.
With the video umpire watching his screen nearby, it was game time.
We spread out faster than the encroaching horde of cane toads and the {FTF} trophy was soon held high.
Seated nearby the prizes were revealed. Premiership Medallions presented and the finals photographs taken.
With the Record autographed the celebrations began.
Much back slapping and merriment in the area.
Tales were told of past games played and plans made for the upcoming season.
Finally, with the TB in hand, the TIGGERTRAIN wound it's way back along the rails, dropping supporters on the way.
It was after 2:30 when the engine was parked up.
Thank you for an excellent season JupiterPearl.
A favourite adventure for sure.
