Thanks for the cache NannaC and Superpops, again geocaching has lead me onto an unknown track, we have re-put the cash where we think it’s meant to be as he was laying on the ground and logbook is missing. We have replaced it.
Thanks for the cache NannaC and Superpops, again geocaching has lead me onto an unknown track, with the green pasture and views it makes for a pleasant journey. Regards from Victourer
A beautiful view here as the sun was setting. I saw quite a few roos as well. A perfectly peaceful spot. Thanks for the hide!
Found at 3.30pm. We were camped in the Rubicon valley for the weekend and have a couple of swims on this hot muggy day decided to go out for a drive in the late afternoon, Came down from Blue Range Track enjoying the views as we descended. An easy find but again no sign of the cattle type of the cache. Our last cache for this drive. We enjoyed the scenery in this peaceful area. Now down to Thornton for an ice cream, then camp for another swim.

Visiting the Alexandra area with OHC to attend the event and grab some local caches. Now on the journey home.
Grabbed this one on the way out as I overshot GZ on the way in. A quick park and grab.
Thanks nanna.c-super.pops for the cache.

As a member of TeamOZCAT logged in this cache, I am now logging as an individual predominantly to avoid any mistaken/unnecessary revisitation.
Under groundspeak guidelines, this logging is acceptable as I was indeed at Cache GZ in person in recent times. However, all cache owners have the right to delete logs as they see fit. Usually done to "Armchair loggers" or inappropriate texting.
If any cache Owner/s have questions regarding this matter, please feel free to contact.
TeamOZCAT logged finds when both Karen and Reg logged as individuals. This logging is exactly the same, only in reverse. Again, groundspeak acceptable.
For an unspecified period of time TeamOZCAT are no longer cache searching but remain active in our cache management and maintenance.
I sincerely thank all CO's and wish you all the best in your endeavours. Cheers Karen

Many cache owners are already aware: As per Groundspeak guidelines, I am claiming find because physically found under TeamOzcat. I undertake this not for disinterested statistical purposes, but because of inability to revisit this cache, and/or because it's so damn confusing when viewing the local district geocache maps. I sincerely thank all CO's for time and effort in placement of their caches. Cheers Reg.
After undertaking nana suoup pop series, thought actual location placement of containers may have been a little less desirable. Perhaps over and undergrowth increased over time.. thanks for placements.
Seeing the sights of Taggerty and of course the spectacular Cathedral Range State Park. First visist here, looks great. TFTC
Hi nanna, the case on this one is a bit old. One of the clips broke off when i tried to open it. The log is ok
Out and about today with Trailstevo. Been a while since we had an escape so with a small plan we headed towards Eildon. The weathe mr didn’t look great so we decided that it was a driveby day maybe with some very short walks depending on the weather. From a few prior small trips and the Alexander event some years back I new the COs were creative and we would be in for a good selection.
We meandered our way to Eildon, dodging muggles, adding smiley faces to the map, diverting for an Earthcache at Snobbies Creek, plenty of water there.
Then to the Dam for another Earthcache and into town to the bakery. Plenty of social distancing going on there, everyone respectful and working the new system, and a great beef and gravy roll! Yummo! Headed across the way towards a gadget cache in an urban obvious location where we are likely to get rumbled! As usual Trailstevo and I need a little while to recalibrate our selves from stealth mode to be bold mode, so eventually we tackled and solved it. Then headed home collecting a few of the missed ones from earlier in the day. A great little outing, a good catch up, some laughs and a freshly calibrated headspace for the week. Thanks for the fun Nans c and super pops

Completed the Cattle series. Loved the idea nanna.c-super.pops. Great way to enjoy our scenic countryside.
I've slipped out for a quick park and grab cache run to fill a spot in our calendar. This was a nice easy find on a quiet road. Perfect!

Suscoe headed out for a day of caching in the Eildon area.
It was a cold start but as the day progressed some sunshine appeared and there was no wind.
It is such a lovely part of the world here with the mountains, the valleys and the rivers, not to mention the very happy looking cattle.
Thanks to nanna.c-super.pops for this hide. we enjoyed this quiet road.

For years I’ve wanted a Brahman called Loulou, so far it hasn’t happened! Oh well, one day. I think they are lovely cows!! I first fell in love with them while we were in Corner Country, I loved how relaxed they were when we drove passed them. Tftc
My favourite breed of cattle. We had a little bull whom we named Charlie. My old man brought him home in the boot of the old XB falcon when he was 2 days old. He was bottle fed for a while and then bucket fed. He loved playing with the bucket all day long. Some times we had to wrestle it off him so he could be fed again. The poor bugger hated it when we left for school of a morning. Our school was only around the corner and our back fence was close to it. Once Charlie realised where we were during the day he would make his way to the back corner and bellow our all day for us!! Tftc

One definition of “Brahman” is the highest ranking of the four varnas, or social classes, in Hindu India but I doubt that was the reasoning behind the cache! Another describes it as a breed of American cattle which is true but not the full story as this cattle breed started from an Indian-origin cattle breed, also called Brahman, and then cross bred with various other Indian cattle flavours (after all, they were bred for the dinner table!) Interestingly, it would appear that this breed dominates the Australian beef cattle industry, especially up north, as they are extremely tolerant of heat and resistant to insect bites due to them having thick skins – much like our politicians (and probably don’t stink as much!)

Out for a day of caching and sightseeing with Wetjala and Mrs Biggles in an area away from the bushfires. After travelling along the Donna Buang Road, the Acheron Way, stopping for lunch in Buxton and checking out the Cathedral Ranges we decided to head across to Rubicon. This was the fourteenth of many caches for the day and a quick easy find for Wetjala. TFTC.
Yummo !! Beef !!
So I headed on down the road to see what I could muster up in the way of cache finds
Well you ain't likely to see any Brahman cattle round these parts are you ?? [:o]
Definitely a breed for the tropics

Found by Mary & David at 1515. We're thinking of all the Brahman cattle we saw during our trip to Alice Springs and Darwin last Easter. Our thanks to nanna.c-super.pops.
Staying at Alexandra after the event, today we tackled a few caches within the area and this was one of them.
Cache and contents were in excellent condition. Accurate coordinates led to a quick find.

This is our fourth trip to the northern island this year. The first three were primarily for family events but with some opportunities to do some caching along the way. The fourth trip is different as caching is our focus. After getting off The Spirit of Tasmania we are heading north to cache at Wangaratta and then Yass before heading into the ACT and Queanbeyan for a week. After that we will travel to Jindabyne for a few days with summiting Mount Kosciuszko being our main target for this part of our trip. Then we will visit Cooma and Tumut before heading back down the track through Wangaratta and Mansfield as we make our way to Alexandra for the MEGA. After the weekend we will continue to make our way south and back onto the Spirit of Tasmania for the “drive” across Bass Strait. We are really looking forward to three weeks of intense caching in great areas and, hopefully, catching up with some geocachers in each of the areas we will visit.
We had a great time at the Alexandra Event catching up with many people, enjoying the activities, caching and touring the Alexandra and Eildon areas. We certainly have a much better appreciation of the attractions of the area than we had before we arrived. Today we headed south intending to cache our way through Marysville to Mansfield where we planned to stay the night. Although not a long trip, there were many places to investigate and we didn’t arrive until nearly tea time. It was also quite a hot day and that slowed our progress a little.
It wasn't until we saw the road sign that we understood the reasons for the naming of the majority of the caches in the area. Accurate coordinates led to a quick find of this cache. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks nanna.c-super.pops for the cache.
***** We are currently writing detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC. "The Author" Badge challenges geocachers to average one hundred words or more in each log. On 1 September 2017 our average was 86 which seems close to the 100 target. However given that we have found so many GC caches, we have to write many logs with well over 100 words for a long period of time to get our average to the target. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that we can strive to attain this challenge. Well, after 616 caches (which includes all cache finds up and including yesterday), the average log length is just over 100.3. We have attained our goal, and got there much sooner than we had anticipated. We will continue with the extended logs until the end of the trip to give ourselves a little buffer so that it is very unlikely that we will fall below 100 words per cache average in the future*****

A MEGA was being held this year in Alexandra, and what a fantastic event it proved to be. Fantastic location, great activities and some amazing caches all lead to an awesome weekend. This was one of the caches I found during my travels of the area over the weekend.

It was a last minute decision to attend the Alexandra Event so after work on Friday Rapidlywild and I headed down through a couple of storms and heaps of lightening which put on a great show.
We found a few caches around the place before heading back home on Monday.
Day 2 had arrived and it was back on the roads collecting more yellow smileys.
After collecting all the AX17 puzzles and stopping for some dinner we decided to head out again under the cover of fading light/darkness to collect some more.
Signed, replaced and on our way to the next.

A fairly late decision resulted in myself and 1 party of the FurfacesLL clan headding south towards Alexandra Event. After working during the day Friday, the drive down Friday night felt never ending. We had a great 3 days stomping around Alexandra and surrounds putting our scribble in many caches.
2nd day of tromping around Alexandra and surrounds finding plastic containers
After having some dinner, was time to keep on caching under the cover of darkness. Had a resident ask if we needed help along here, she didnt look too happy when we said we were fine and we were geocaching.... oops

Headed down to Victoria with steeba and Hoojar to be part of the 3rd Victorian Mega celebrations in Alexandra. Our 3-day leave pass ensured we’d be constantly on the go! From 300 finds in the Mt Disappointment area to 10 different cache types there was never a dull moment.
After our busy day of yesterday it didn't take us long to be back in the stride. Today was all about different cache types. This saw us travelling all over Victoria, from a webcam at Mt Buller to a virtual in the CBD we certainly clocked up the kilometres, but we achieved our goal of 10 types in a day.
Thanks to all the cache owners who contributed to a great 3 days caching with my fellow caching buddies. My apologies about the template style log, it certainly doesn’t detract from the thrill of the ‘find”.

Today was Alexandra Mega day: all the fun and excitement of seeing many SA geocachers, some of whom I haven't seen for a long time now! Oh right, I'm in Victoria so I guess I should say all the fun and excitement of seeing all the Australia wide geocachers gathered here to make the most of the cameraderie [^], the fun gadget caches , the great views and sights around Alexandra and the fun of finding geocaches [^]
My grateful thanks to all of those who put so much time and effort into this event and also all of the caches around the area which added to the fun, especially the Trout geoart, the gadget and the lab caches [^][:X] Although I did totally forget to log the lab caches
Special thanks also to the wonderful spidermonkeyAU who arrived bearing DONUTS! [:X] I spent the majority of the weekend with Clare007 and hevwalker and shared lots of laughs [:X] it was good to once again cache with a car full of geocachers who find every cache that they drive near and the fun on the Saturday night while getting cache after cache was something I have missed since being in Victoria. ADI, firesafe, RideTheGeoWalrus and Hurtle made that night a pleasureable and tiring outing since we finished after 1am
Sunday was supposed to be Show and Shine day but somehow, in a variety of ways, that got sidetracked and never completed and so Sunday afternoon was a trip to Mt Disappointment to do some of the remaining caches there, accompanied by the GOTHS + 2
Then it was back to Alexandra to swap Harry for the Corolla as muggle partner had driven the Corolla over for me to take to Melbourne for a week of training as Harry wouldn't fit in the car park at the hotel
ADI and I then drove to Melbourne where we parted ways, having just had the only DNFs of the weekend on that trip down
Due to a very late night at work Friday , an even later night after I arrived in Alexandra due to a friend having an incident with an immovable object (insert 'wombat') and hence a late start to the morning [)] there was only a total of 117 caches found, 3 fun events attended and 3 DNFs over the weekend.
As I'm now 3 months behind in my logging I am desperately trying to catch up and am mass logging to do so.

Out with a bunch of fellow South Aussie cachers and Adi from NSW. Had a fun night chasing a heap of caches around Alexandra, mostly the trout series. Some were a blur some were memorable.

Today I teamed up with RoddyC and Snickersallan to catch a Trout and any caches that are along the way.
They were all found thankfully, some easy, some took some time to locate but all in good condition.
Another quick find in this beautiful area. SL then returned cache to its hide,

On a 6 day tour of Victoria with Barnzy12. Taking the red eye over from Perth we managed to visit some great places. The main reason for the travel was the Mega event in Alexandra and the opportunity to find 12 cache types in a day.
We originally travelled to Phillip bay, then up through the country side to Alexandra. Spent a few nights staying high in the snowfields and then moved over to Mt Disappointment. We then ended up back where we started returning the hire car at the airport to fly home.
Some quality caches were found all over the state, great to get a real range of cache sizes with some very large caches compared to what’s available in WA and the range of D/T options so close to each other was a bonus.
Thanks to all the Cache owners for you placements and creativity put into hiding and have awarded a few fav points based on this or the location it bought us too.

In Melbourne with Cravo10 to attend the Mega in Alexandra.
We took the red eye from Perth, leaving at 1am Thursday morning, and departed Melbourne early Tuesday morning, so it was a short five day trip.
We managed to snag a couple of nice stats for the trip. First mega event, 12 cache types in a day, 10 lab caches, 50th large cache find, and most importantly my 10,000th find at Mount Disappointment.
We spent the first day on a caching run from
Melbourne to Phillip Island where we had booked into the local caravan park for the evening. We cached all day chasing down a number of the whereigo and puzzle caches from the CF series, before ending the day caching the extremities of Phillip Island, where we had both never been, an amazing part of this country.
Next morning we cached our way to Alexandra which was the main reason for our trip to Melbourne as we had both never managed to attend a mega, which were hoping to rectify in WA next year! Attended the pre event and managed to get a couple of group FTFs by torchlight which was a real highlight.
Saturday we cached in and around Alexandra all day, chasing numbers, the highlight of the day would have to be the birdbox hides around Alexandra and the multi in Bonnie Doon from that famous TV show, a real nice touch!
Sunday was an epic caching day, chasing down 12 types in a day, which required a couple of huge drives to claim some of the rarer icons around. A huge caching stat which is a very rare feat in the Southern Hemisphere. We finished the day travelling to Mount disappointment where we found Melbourne's 1st cache and then started making a dent in the powertrail, finishing by torchlight.
Our last full days caching was spent at Mount Disappointment to chase some big numbers and with a few caches around the burbs for good measure.
Special thanks to all the wonderful COs around Melbourne for their brilliant caches, and to the mega committee for organising a ripper event, hope to be back next year!

The idea of going down to Victoria and to the Alexandra Mega was original floated by Steeba. Normally Megas are not something that I am super keen to attend, but the opportunity of also collect some serious numbers on the Mount Disappointment caching trail, and finding some Lab Caches really helped to sweetened the deal. I was in, along with my long time caching buddies Steeba and The Rats.
We left Wollongong at 8pm on Thursday evening, returning at 5pm on Sunday, 2,500km and over 400 cache finds later. With less than a handful of DNFs, a wonderful result!
Highlights of the trip included:
- Finding over 330 caches on Friday, the entire Mount Disappointment trail;
- Finding ten unique cache types on Saturday, which included a drive to both Mount Buller for a Web Cam, and then back for a late night Melbourne CBD visit for a Virtual;
- Meeting up with a few local Wollongong cachers in Alexandra;
- Setting two new personal records, for my most cache finds and cache types in a day;
- The always good company and banter of Steeba and The Rats;
- Seeing six echidnas, and a koala (my first sighting of a koala on the ground in the wild); and
- The absolute highlight of the trip was watching Sir The Rats be inducted into the Australia Geocaching Hall of Fame (or maybe the jokes that Steeba and I had over the weekend over the honour!).
Thanks to all of the cachers that hid caches for us to find over our short trip away. I have little doubt in thinking that we will be back to these parts again at some stage to find more caches!
Cheers

Found during our Weekend trip to The Alexandra Event MEGA.
The day was quite hot even with a short storm and shower thrown in and the caching was magnificent.
The standard of caches around this area is really really high.
Thank you for the placing of this cache.

First day of the Mega, and today's plan is to work our way along the western edge of the lake, picking caches and fishes (and a few special Lab Caches). Snickersallan and Patrol14 remain with is.
We got silly jokes about bar men. Or was that bra men? Maybe my ears were dyslexic.
Log signed & replaced again. Found at 1.15pm on 18th November 2017. TFTC. nanna.c-super.pops

Found as part of a few days away with my great caching mates The Rats and Hoojar. Our main aim was the Mega event in Alexandra but we managed to find most of the Mt Disappointment series, did 9 or 10 cache types in a day (side trip to Mt Buller and then Melbourne CBD). Some great laughs, camping under the stars, a nicely organised Mega and some great wildlife (koala and echidnas ). TFTC!

We found BRAHMAN on our truncated mega weekend. With our youngest fluey and asthmatic we decided to daytrip instead of camping and exposing his lungs to the cold air.
A quick stop before heading back to the mega
Thanks nanna.c-super.pops for being a part of our Geocaching fun and being find number 9047

Found while attending the Alexandra Event, had a great time caching around the district and catching up with friends. Had fun solving the AX puzzle series. Thanks nanna.c-super.pops for the cache.
A quick and easy find as we make our way to Alexandra for the event weekend. Found with Cathlud who joined us for the caches along this road. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.
I am staying in Taggerty this MEGA weekend and had some time before the Welcome Event to search for some cattle.
I met up with Geoturtle37 and managed an hour of caching before the rain started again.
Thanks for this cache.
