Definitely an adventure from the top

Very nice spot, came from the top where I parked, walked down the other side avoiding the tunnel of rock and found it. Went down the hill to a lovely bench where I signed the log and had a lovely break. Entering from the bottom is more accessible but less of an adventure.TFTC ????

Found at 3:44 PM GAFF3 - however the hint is meaningless!Well that was an interesting adventure! Drove down to the end of the track and found that there was no advantage there and then we had the problem of how to get up again without encountering another vehicle coming down! It was very narrow and what we thought was a one way track!Made it up to the top and then decided to walk down the walking track where the GPSr indicated 3 metres - but there was nothing there! So thought that we were on the wrong plane and went off on another walk where we found a small track that led us to another location that we had spotted from above a few minutes ago.As we approached and at a distance of 20 metres the cache container was spotted as it was proudly sitting under an overhang totally exposed. Well that was a sight to behold!Replaced the cache a little off to the right and placed a heap of branches to try and conceal it from muggles, but make it abundantly clear to cachers where it was hidden..Thanks to RatusGeocaching

Found with Sharanyaexpress on a stroll around Castlecrag that turned out a little more adventurous than we had expected. We had leaches, ant bites and a fall but at least walked away with a find too.

Definitely wasn't where either was supposed to be after going without a find for 2 years. Put it back under the rock shelf and under some bark until it can be put back in its right place. Beautiful spot. TFTC

Driving lessons bought us close. Parked then some scrambling about before finding the container.

Nice spot thanks for placing.

Found alongside my Geo companion Mystic Seer, Geo Rabbit and Dog. This is better approached from below. A sneaky rock hide, very well done to the CO for the hiding spot.
SL alongside the Geo Pets, Replaced as found ready for the next Geo Adventurers. Thanks goes to the CO, RatusGeocaching for bringing us to this location. Cheers.

Weather: Grey summer morning

I needed to go to Roseville and decided to start with a jog 'n cache. I had headed down the Sailor's Bay Walking Trail, which was rather over-grown so more of a bushwalk than a jog for much of it. I therefore approached this cache from below, which was advantageous. I was glad to quickly find the container in its home - TNLNSL TFTC

Found this one during the school holidays, so I am sorry for a late log.

We came here from some of the other nearby caches, on an small trail on the map.

After getting to GZ, I had a little search around but it was my mum who made the find.

Cool hiding spot, but watch out for the spiders and spider webs.

An afternoon geocaching with Eagle Eyed Monkey Girl. Although the plan was to drive to Georges Head in Mosman, we never made it that far. Instead we explored the quiet and leafy area of Castlegrag and North Willoughby.

After finding a geomobile and a ghost ship we continued our travels to Mowbray Point along intriguing names such as the Barbette, the Barbican and The Bulwark.
Once parked we decended down the rocks and started our search. Of course the eyes of Eagle Eyed Monkey Girl did not disappoint and soon she was doing a victory dance as she showed me the well hidden cache.

This was defiantly one of those de ja vue moments as we drove closer to this cache. I remembered the streets and the loop where you parked the car. As soon as we got out geowife said that we have done this one already. We followed the road down then cut across when and found an easier route back. As she said all this it came flooding back.

I must have forgotten to log it. Based on the surround caches it was probably done in April this year.

A belated thanks for the cache.

Out with oldmorty finding caches around Northbridge and Castlecrag.
Initially approached from above which was way too scary for us.
We then went looking for another way down through the bush.
"Why not walk down the road and try an approached from the bottom" - a lot easier.
Thanks RatusGeocaching for placing this cache here for us to find.

OCW frazeydaze on a glorious spring morning. We parked in the small turning circle at end of Rockley St and walked down the road leading towards the Castlecrag Marina, which proved to be an easier access to gz. Coming from the top looked a little precarious. The cache was spotted before reaching gz as it was out in the open. Took 7 Deadly Ducks TB and left Paddock Banger TB.

TFTC fom the Viking.
Started to take a wander down from the top through the bush but rapidly got caught up with a local Muggle chilling out with his very excitable Muggle dog "No way down there mate !" . . .so I chose the quieter option of the road and approached from the bottom.
I firstly checked an area to no avail but stopped on my way back down the slope to answer my phone . . .there you are . . very sneaky if approached from a different angle.
So a quick CIH more by accident than design. Cheeers

Parked at the suggested parking spot, even though it was almost full already with cars and empty boat trailers.
Found a track down to GZ and started searching. As for previous cachers, it took some time before we found the right level. Once there, and looking in the right spot, from the right angle, the cache was soon found. Log signed and then scrambling up back to the level where the car was parked.

I came from above, which justified the T rating. The Garmin was leading me into a squeezy bit but I turned to see an interesting spot, like another recent find. On close inspection, there it was, well concealed. Thanks RatusGeocaching.

Arrived and searched around up top, nothing, so proceeded downwards and had CIH. Spied your yellow submarine in a familiar type of hide, nice hide.
Proceeded to pull out farmers friends up top near the car park before they seed upon leaving, thanks RatusGeocaching

Well this was an interesting one, I search high and low and manged to find someone's wallet from about 6 years ago hahah everything had long since expired.
Then moving into another location I saw the cache completely in the open and right in front of my eyes. I signed the log and saw where it was meant to be and replaced to its natural position. TFTC

p.s - not as much frustration as I was expecting Smile

Caching for profit! This one was tricky and took a little while so while I was here I made a buck picking up plastic bottles and cans. I even found a bag to carry them in. Off to the return and earn! Had to read the logs even after guessing how it would be hidden, but a pleasant spot to while away some time hunting! Cheers!

I was hoping some new caches would be published today and when a spree of notifications started appearing, I decided to head out and try my luck. Fortunately for me, many of the newly published were fairly close by, so I went for them first.

Starting with ‘Abbott’ (GC7PDWG) and ‘Costello’ (GC7PDV6) in North Epping, I made quick First To Finds here, at this familiar park, while managing to avoid prying eyes from the local school group playing on the oval. Thanks For The Caches Alephroom.

Next it was onto ‘Pardon the Pun - Classic Animated Movies’ (GC7P1EV) in Epping. I was having a bit of trouble with the GPSr signal and had a look around in more spots than I needed, but eventually had the Cache In Hand. Quite a bit of muggle traffic but was able to sign the log for another First To Find and return the cache without raising any suspicion. Thanks For The Cache Frazelle and Ash_Kate.

Travelling down the road to Carlingford, I went for another new cache, ‘Music With Rocks In’ (GC7P8QB). Parking in a nearby side street, I walked over and down the electrifying track towards the published co-ordinates. The cache was a little exposed upon approach, so it was easy to spot. Another First To Find and I made sure to replace it with a bit more protection. Thanks For The Cache Alephroom.

Morry9 was available soon after and encouraged me to join him in Northbridge for 'Pontem Borealis (History trail #1)’ (GC7P01E), for another newly published cache. We parked at the bottom of the hill and walked up the driveway to the open area where the cache was hidden. We had to widen our search but morry9 spotted it and we shared a joint First To Find. The co-ordinates are out a little, by about 12m according to our GPSr. Thanks For The Cache Dreamlifter56.

While in the vicinity, there were a few caches I wanted to do. We hit up the somewhat tricky ‘Warners Donation’ (GC7BT7B) in Castlecrag, which also showed about 15m or so off according to our GPSr and the log is soaked. An interesting location, Thanks For The Cache geo2893.

After that, we went to ‘Gunsens Gap’ (GC7CYRP), which was nice and quick, and provided us with a good Cache In Trash Out opportunity - the CITO Crusaders strike again! Thanks For The Cache RatusGeocaching.

We continued along to ‘Walter's Jukebox’ (GCNGVA) and it was a nice walk down the track behind the park. A quick find, Thanks For The Cache EvilDan (DeltaMike29).

The last one for the day was ‘Four Fig Park’ (GC6N8PG) in Cammeray. Another straightforward find under the shade of a grand row of Morton Bays. Thanks For The Cache aeon14.

Nice walk around here on a a sunny Sunday afternoon. So nice that we walked all the way down to the marina after finding the cache. We had a lot of fun crawling through, around and up the gap. A really interesting formation. Where the container is hidden is just tailor-made for a geocache. Lovely outlook from this part of the world. A favourite from us. SL TFTC Cheers... Gaztek

Went for this one before heading out to the Rugby 7s.
The issue was working out the best place to start. Found the lowest terrain way and headed for GZ.
Made an assumption re GZ on account from initially scouting from above. But that proved fruitless.

Finally decided to pay attention to the GPS which put me elsewhere. And then the unexpected find soon after.

Completed signing duties and then headed for the Footy Stadium.

In the end.... I found this... haha...

I must have covered the whole bush area, climbing, descending, slip-sliding away, grabbing at trees, slithering through caves, yes hearing things slithering.... my GPS phone dancing a merry jig itself.

In the end... I found this... haha

And I got my day's exercise thrown in. Thank you RatusGeocaching!

Parked at the suggested location which was nice and shady on a hot day. The GPS said 30m so I walked over to see whether I could bush bash from there - probably could have done it if I was taller.
From there I could see the picturesque view and the gap.

So I followed the road round until I found an access point and made my way up to what I had seen from above. There I began looking in all the likely spots, checking the GPS occasionally. It seemed to be pointing to one area which I had discounted as there didn't really seem to be anywhere to hide something of regular size and there was no evidence anyone else had trampled there. It also didn't look very friendly if there was an earthquake but I decided to check it anyway, heck I need a find for today to keep the streak going and I've come all this way so this is going to be it!

Of course the next moment I saw the cache - a very simple but sneaky hide!

SL, visited some TBs then made my way back down to the road to walk back up to the geomobile. Plenty of exercise here!

A simple hide really, just take your time and look around before you expend too much energy.

08-Nov-17
As the summer evening hours are getting longer we headed home via this way in the light. We soon got to the general area of GZ and started going up and down looking for likely spots. The cheeky hide was eventually spotted and the and log signed and replaced. TFTC

Wow, this was both easier and much harder than I was expecting.
I was up and down and round about looking for the damn thing and almost ignored the obvious.
Great hide.

Stopped off on my way home from work today to have a look at this new one in Castlecrag. Parked the geomobile at the recommended parking spot, then headed on down to GZ for a look.

Looked around in a few spots before realising that I was probably at the wrong level, so relocated myself to an alternative level and recommenced the search. And it wasn't long before I uncovered the hide and had CIH. TNLNSL, then replaced as found.

It's a nice location for a cache, and you can even catch a glimpse of the little beach down below, and the boats on their moorings, through the tree cover. TFTC RatusGeocaching.

TFTC nice to find it so early on in it’s life . Met a reasonable sized lizard. Geo kids acquired a couple of caterpillars . Good to see another cache in Castlecrag. Stayed off the very slopiest boulders with leaves which worried us. Tried to explain to them that most geocaches are not suicide missions but kids exploring everywhere

13/10/17. 2:35 PM. Cache #5456.
4th of 4 this afternoon - Double Bay, Glebe, North Sydney, Castlecrag.

With the last of my deliveries done and dusted, it was time to clear some of the caches that had recently popped up around the city. I decided to start from east to west, before going home via the north side.

After getting "This View Rocks!!!", the last of the ones within 5km of the city, I headed further north up here to this cache. I stopped on Rockley St and walked along the path and downwards, to GZ. As I approached, I saw a young bloke sitting on a rock, fairly close to GZ. First impressions when I saw an opened sistema next to him was that he was a cacher and had found it. "Are you looking for something?", I asked in the standard geo-greeting.

Then I saw the juice-bottle and hose bit. "Just chilling, hey?". OK, not a cacher. He was friendly enough, and although he described this area as a favourite spot of his to sit and "relax", he seemed not to mind me being here nor that others would be coming. He asked if I was geocaching and mentioned he had done it in the past and was glad to see more popping up in the area. He was content to continue with his chilling up top while I explored below.

I tried a couple of areas, some were very tight squeezes indeed that suited the "Gap" of the cache name but were probably too high of a terrain rating. Might need to rethink which level or which side, I thought, but no sooner had I turned around... bingo! Signed the log and replaced in its sneaky spot. Agree this could frustrate some and think that the difficulty rating is fair enough. Time to head home, just before the post-school rush starts to build. Of course, half an hour later new caches start popping up and one of them, "The Rag", is just past where I had driven on the way here. Typical! TFTC, had fun on this one.
