As Alan mentioned, this area is now fenced off for a year and a half. This is a bit too long to disable a cache, but I will replace it when they have finished.
The cache has been removed so there is no reason to walk around the fence until it is replaced.
Thanks, Robmc.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news Robmc but not only is there a big sign saying this cache, and Power Rocks, are on part of the track which is closed off, but the track itself is really closed off with large fencing.
Furthermore, the sign says that it is closed off from January 2019 until October 2020. Yep, 19 months.
Haven't they heard of Geocaching?

A short walk on a warm afternoon to admire the sculptures turned into a quick caching run after an absence of caching since our last holiday. I have cycled along here a few times but never with time to spare. Time to start finding these trail caches
Embarrassingly spotted by tksippy on her return run along these caches, leading to a pleasant chat to a new cacher. A pleasure to meet her.
Cache is dry and in good condition . Thanks and cheers!

Today i decided to go out in the hot sun and doing a long walk.
It was a great day with many Geocaches while a great walk on the good built path.
Thank you for the Trail!

Good little spot, little bit of searching but found easily when looking at the hint. TFTC
Went a little the wrong way, found it hanging around after a short while of searching. TFTC!
Find #4005. Found @ 14:37
My self-appointed challenge for the year is to get 1000 finds for the year, and I've fallen behind in that. To get me closer, I took to the Federation Trail and Kororoit Creek Trail. There were storms forecast, but thankfully seemed to pass by the area, and leave me unscathed.
No problem making the find of this cache. I just walked up and made the find, which was a surprise in itself. The weather had started to improve, and the clouds cleared away, so I paused to remove my rain jacket and the backpack cover before continuing on southwards.
Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.
Thanks for the cache Robmc

On the way home from work, again via the slow route but obviously cache rich.
The path is starting to break up and get rougher, pretty soon we will be in the wilderness

A great little planting, mist thins seem to be alive and working towards a forest! Great hide mechanism, simple but effective. Thanks!
The ageing Bushfire decided to head to Melbourne today and do some of the KCT trail.
We have a new cacher (Flynn) in Geelong who gained his first hundred finds along this trail today and he already has a number of very good caches hidden so I decided to help him out today by offering him a trip to Melbourne.
With the bikes on the rear of the White Beast and with a tight schedule we set off on the first day of Daylight Saving to see if we could get Flynn 20 finds for another Badge Gen Badge which we succeeded in archiving.
Being an OBE (Over bloody eighty) and a fifteen year old he killed me on his MB on the hills and in general everywhere but I need the practice before the upcoming Mega as I guess I will on the MB for most of our five days at this Event. I hope my SA mates are out getting some kilometres in their legs.
A lovely day to be out doors and as we were riding the trail a fellow rider coming from the opposite direction indicated to us that a snake was sunning itself on the path ahead. They are certainly out and about as I came across a black a few days ago down Barwon Heads way.
Further along the track we avoided a great looking blue tongue lizard.
Thanks Robmc for placing this trail.

Bushfire took me down today to this great track, hoping to get 20 finds today to pull me over 100 finds and get me a badge for BadgeGen. We took our bikes down and rode the 7km trail, it was amazing. A really nice place to cycle down and to do some caching in. It took us a bit to find 20 of them but we got there in the end! I got my 100 finds and a badge and we got to do some amazing caches, thanks for placing this trail!
We spent quite a lot of time looking for this, but soon Bushfire spotted the clever hide and we were soon signing it. TFTC

Filling in the last gap in this trail for is - a quick wander on a sunny but windy day to keep up my find streak. Thanks for this placement, apart from the noise its a pleasant place for a stroll....
This spot has needed a smilie face for sometime. Ticked off today with _BFMC_

I drove past here the other week. Wondered what was going on. Now I know. I thought it might have had something to do with what I like to call the Westgate Freeway shamozzle. What a nightmare that is at the moment. Thanks for enlightening me. Thankfully I found this cache pretty easily. Phew! Thanks for the cache
Would be lovely to come back here when the forest has grown. Thanks for showing me the hard work going on to make that happen.
My geobuddy Spiffy- had recently done this trail and recommended it to me. So a free day and I put the bike in the car and off I went. Made a quick find here. Thanks to Robmc for placing this cache.
Last one for us along this section (as the other is currently in the works area). Liked the cute hint. We have a few departed relatives across the creek at the cemetery so gave them a wave hello from here. Surprised at how wide the creek is in this section - pleasantly so. TFTC
This was next on our journey south along the KCT and not long after arriving at GZ, we were signing the log at 13:30.
TNLNSL. Thanks Robmc.
TNLNSL. Thanks Robmc.
The AD Cycling Team of EuDes, Alsume (towed by Shadow), ssmc4 and LinearZZ continued downstream and found themselves no longer in a soon to be forest, in fact enough to be confusing. However EuDes was finally the one to recognise the MO at 13:25. Thanks Robmc
On an Anzac Day caching bike ride with EuDes, Alsume and LinearZZ along the Federation and Kororoit Creek Trails. This was #18 of 26 caches I attempted, and it was great to see all the plantings in the vicinity. I haven't been along the Kororoit Creek before and I can see that with a bit of community care it will recover to once again be a lovely area. Thanks Robmc.

With too much annual leave built up I have started to take a few random days off to get it back down again so I took the bike out for 4 hours today along these trails on the opposite side of the city to what I am normally on. I managed 39 finds and 4 DNF's.
Apart from a few council workers near the first few caches, it was awesome on a Friday, clear trails and virtually no muggles anywhere to hinder my searches.
Stopped by here, parked the bike and noting the hint made the find immediately.
Thanks Robmc for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

#2853 Found at 9:23am. I found it after a short search and avoiding the slippery edge. I walked along this path to find several more. Visiting from Canberra. TFBMH Robmc.
It was time to get the bike out again and do a few more of the KCT caches.

These are a lot easier to find in daylight, eh. Dead accurate coordinates helped.
The cooler weather this weekend made today perfect for a bike ride. With a stiff southerly blowing, I decided that I'd tackle the lower reaches of the Kororoit Creek with the wind at my tail, rather than the tougher option.
Thanks, Robmc, for a great excuse to hit the trails.

Was a lot harder this one, thankfully a few clues in the comments led us in the right direction.
#13885. I haven't been on the bicycle for such a long time and with such a pleasant afternoon in the offing and so many relatively new caches to be found along the Kororoit Creek Trail and the Federation Trail, what else could I do but head out for a nice ride collecting caches along the way. Managed a 12.5km ride and collected 15 smilies - a very pleasant Melbourne afternoon.
Maybe (soon to be forest) is a little optomistic but certainly there has been a great deal of planting in this area. Bounced our way to GZ and the container was quickly spied and retrieved. Added my name to the log, returned it to its hiding spot and we continued on.
Thanks Robmc

Sweet! Still more unsealed path! Such a nice change ... reminds me somewhat of doing the Woodlands 100 series many years ago. Not a bit of seal in sight!
This is one of my favourite hide styles and I'm sure the idiotic grin on my face gave that fact away pretty quickly.
Got stabbed in the face a couple of times, but totally my fault and lucky I was wearing sunglasses! TFTC, Robmc.

The next find on my 7+ km walk on this section of trail. Whilst the GPS initially had me in the spiky plant bush I knew the style of hide the CO generally employs and decided to venture a little further either side. Sure enough the cache could be spotted a couple of metres away hidden at eye height on a branch without any spiky leaves whatsoever. I knew you wouldn't do that to finders, Robmc!
Thankyou RobMc for this marvellous run of caches along the Kororoit Creek trail.
Lovely to meet a couple of other cachers along the way. One comprised a mother and four children so that was special. Time for another green heart.

Back on my bike after parking near the toilets. Yes the track has changed a little and the lovely scenery and sculptures have now disappeared but still found the cache.

All good Aussies know how Ned met his maker.
In a few years this forest might make retrieval more difficult but the creek edges will continue to thrive with all the new plantings
Cheers

We decided that today would be the first time to go bike riding for the year so popped the bikes on the back of the GeoHilux and parked at the Altona North end of the Kororoit Creek geoTrail for a nice ride along the creek.

We've had the trail to ourselves so far except for some strange character that we encountered here. We had thought we was a cacher but nope ... he must be looking for something else. SP and I have had this situation recently before and I kinda joked "where did he hide the body?!" During this caching caper I've found lots of interesting things like money, cars, dodgy porn, mutilated animals, ghosts and assorted other stranger things but today and right here I found this cache safely in it's hiding spot.
Thanks Robmc
Thanks Robmc
This was the only section of the trail where we encountered somebody. He seemed a little odd, but as we had found the container we continued on none the wiser as to what he might be doing.

After a thumbs for the new KCT, from our caching pals Suscoe 11/11; we made an early morning start today to beat the promised hot weather.
Who would be concerned about the trail surface, with the opportunity to ride beside the creek, among the history and the array of amazing thought provoking, sculptures.
Thanks Robmc for placing caches for everyone's enjoyment.

Suscoe headed out for an afternoon's wander around the Western side of Melbourne.
It was a glorious Spring day, blue skies as far as the eye could see and a gentle South Easterly breeze keeping things pleasant.
We enjoyed the places we were brought to and had a bit of fun along the way.
Thanks to Robmc for this hide, this was surprising, mulch made from old pallets, but up the top on the road level there seemed to be a lack of trees in the planting area.
We suspect a few happy rabbits have been harvesting the little trees before they could get a foot hold around here.
A bit more successful down the slope. ,

Found by Mary & David at 1355. Not far from our previous stop. Quite a few trees here, as the title suggests. Our indicated GZ was right on the money, and we soon spotted the container. Our thanks to Robmc.
This is a fantastic trial and series offering great views and art sculpture .
We parked at Blackshaw‘s road to firstly complete the southern section of this trial before moving north of the Westgate Freeway where our caching adventure came to an end after a puncture on the bike.
This trial is well worth the effort to visit while Caching .
We will return soon as possible to complete the northern section of this trial.
Great series thank you for your contribution Robmc

Finished work early today so I went to find some more of this series. After passing under the freeway I thought it would make a great place for another "Eagle Rock". When I got to GZ I went too far and nearly slipped into the water going along the bank. Got the cache in the end. TFTC
16:27, 24 October, 2017. #1085.
Another trek to the KCT after work to pick off another day on the calendar. This was a slightly longer walk than the last one. I read some of the logs and the hint on my way from the car park to GZ. I was prepared for a prolonged search, but was pleasantly surprised with a very quick find. One of those times when the initial scan of the terrain reveals the cache.
The cache is in good condition.
SL. TFTC, the series and the opportunity to chip away at all those empty days on the calendar Robmc.

Love the new plantings. This was an urban forest many years ago, but the drought took care of most of that. I hope the new trees are somewher better chosen to live long in the hot dry conditions.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks for this series Robmc. I would love to see more like this along formed tracks (vs. dusty roads).

Well someone said SUCH IS LIFE, and then dropped through the floor, NOT this cache, it is still where it was placed, though there is lots more ink on paper now, found while caching along the creek with a group enjoying the work that has gone on recently, it will be a lovely walking/bike riding track, Thanks for placing this series, Robmc

So glad it has stopped raining.

#9 on our adventure! Short walk to this cache which was found after a bit of digging through the trees. TFTC!
Another find after work.
The path and area are improving the further I go south each time along this trail.
This one took a little longer and after reading the clue I soon spotted the cache.
And with time this area could soon be a mini forest, now just to improve the northern section of the KCT.
Thanks Robmc TFTC

We might not have found this without the hint. Still took us a few minutes, but eventually found by 8yo geokid. TFTH
I was in eastern Melbourne when these new caches were published.
Since I'd be going past the KCT on the way home I stopped by and wandered a while along the track. Surprisingly more than an hour after publication I still found several blank logbooks.
Good to see so much revegetation.
"The sign of maturity is when you plant a tree knowing full well you'll never sit under it."
A good hint, and the blank logbook was found. Is there no-one else chasing FTFs today ?
Thanks for the cache and series, Robmc.
