Logs
Driving up north and decided to make a quick stop for a stretch of the legs and a cache.
Thanks! Was happy to find the cache and I've driven past so many times. Log is full, I found one of the last spots.
I love the area this cache is in. It's so well maintained, and I love all the bottle trees. They're all through the town.If the cache wasn't here, I wouldn't have noticed the trees and just driven straight through. Thanks for bringing me here.
A quick find thanks to previous logs. Found on our way from Emerald to Charters Towers. *The generic bit for this trip*We are on our way north for warmer weather. From Victoria to Cooktown, weaving inland and to the coast, caching as we go. No real plans, just taking each day as it comes and enjoying the adventure in our converted ambulance. Thanks to all COs for placing and maintaining caches for our enjoyment.
On the way to Blackdown Tablelands I made a quick stop in Capella to grab this cache.A quick find.TFTC
4th day into our 3 month trip in search of chill and relax. Nice little stop and easy find. Tftc and giving us a reason to break the drive.
On the trip to Townsville from Emerald, we stopped in some towns along the way. Here's one to find today.Thank you for placing the cache whispering palms.
Together with Travelser I'm going Down Under. We are driving around with a motorhome. Started on the 17th September in Cairns. Our plan is driving.along the eastcoast down. Then in the south on to Adelaide and from there ending the 31th October in Alice Springs.During our trip we of course search for several caches. Most of them brought us to very nice spots, like this one.All the CO's, and in this case whispering palms, thanks for bringing us here and give our trip a special accent.
On my roundtrip along Australia with Oopie we are douing always some caches. All COs thanks for bringing us on this nice places and making this caches.
Quick find with The X-Trailers. Loved the metal sculptures and history here

There must be multiple containers here. We found the mint tin in the hedge 4mts from sign. TFTC
We found A cache but probably not the original. It only had 2 signatures on it. It was in the bush
On the road from Emerald to Mackay today after a short holiday in Longreach and Sapphire. This is the second cache we've found hidden in this area since we started Geocaching in 2015. Always happy to collect another smiley. Learned something new with the hint, have always just called them hats! TFTC, found with Globetrotters7701. ️
Drive around the loop from Anakie to Capella to Emerald... found after a bit of a look. Thanks for bringing us here!
What a tide little town.. We pulled over the car and van close to G. Z. Checked out the statues. Then we went looking for our smile.. Gotcha. the cache is clean and dry.. tftc.
Staying with family at Emerald & took a drive to Capella. Awesome memorial. Found cache on one of the main structures. Not in hedge thank goodness. Replaced where found. Tftc
Not for us today. Searched long enough and found nothing.
Always next time.
Always next time.
Well, I found it eventually only by fluke. None of the info from the description, hint, or previous logs was any help and only gave conflicting information.
What I ended up finding was a grey eclipse mint tin in leaf litter under a hedge, and not near any gap in the hedge. Not knowing where it's actually meant to be, I put it somewhere on the statue in the middle, as the name of the cache references the horse.
Definitely didn't find any black bison container. Not to say it's not there, maybe there's two there now lol

A trip to Perth checking out some of the awesome places along the way in ACT, NSW, Qld and NT. Grabbing some old caches and missing LGAs. TFTC.
Well I looked hard but couldn't locate the black bison. What I did find was an Eclipse Tin complete with log on the ground behind the hedge. I placed it in the hedge at ankle height just to the right after you pass through the hedge gap. Good luck.

We took the liberty of replacing this one, hope that's ok. It's now a black bison hanging in a bush near GZ.
A nice little town to stop and have a rest from the drive. We searched quite a bit but all we could find was a piece of an old log book from early 2021. Looks like park maintenance has been done not too long ago.

I’m off on my annual 6 week adventure and it is back to Outback Queensland to finish off what I started last time but got interrupted along the way.
It is nice and quiet on the roads this morning and I’m now in QLD and the weather can only get better to what Melbourne is at the moment.
After a beautiful couple of days at Carnarvon Gorge it was time to head to Anakie for a couple of nights.
Arrived at Anakie then set up the van so now it is off to explore the area as much as I am able to do so.
My trip has turned pear shaped as my knee has gone and so there is now very little walking so if you saw someone hobbling around that was me.
After a great day yesterday in Sapphire and Rubyvale I thought I would head to Emerald to have a quick tour.
I had all of these puzzles worked out before I left home and now I’m staring at a map that I just cannot physically do.
So I decided on taking a long detour back to Anakie going via Capella and Rubyvale.
Now this is one great memorial they have done here and I also learnt a little bit about feathers along the way.
The trees look great as well.
A fav goes out to you for bringing me here.
Thanks whispering palms TFTC.

I stopped here with CybergranV and Pilot the wonder dog, on our travels to Melbourne.
While I was still sorting out Pilot, Val located the cache, and we were soon on our way.
Thanks whispering.palms.

TFTC. A nice park to stop and have coffee and find your cache. What a lovely tribute to our military. I’m visiting from the Hunter Valley in NSW. Found with my friend Julie.
Quick find with tassie expat while exploring this interesting area. Log was full so we swapped it out with a freshy. Tftc
A quick find with frmen1. Lovely memorial. Left old log sheet in cache and popped new one in. TFTC

Definitely one of my favourite sites while travelling around Australia Queensland knows how to do War Memorials we last visited in 2014 and it’s even more special with all the trees grown TFTC
We read the hint and said "what on earth are puggarees?". If you invest a little time in learning the heritage of the site, you'll find this one out!
Travelling with Geospark62. My phone had GZ out about 6m. Geospark62 used hint to find right place. TFTC
Travelling with Leannem59. Read hint and found cache even though not quite at GZ. TFTC
Found it with pippahiccup. Haven't been here for a long time, and the main street looking good. Great memorial, good hint.
On our way home after a 2 week round trip to Mt Garnet for their big May Day weekend races & rodeo (and a family gathering amongst it). We are on the home stretch today.
This one was a quick and easy find. Great hint, and a great memorial! TFTC!

Today travelling from Clermont to Emerald after visiting Townsville for the Mega Event at Easter. Arrived at GZ and after a short search cache was found. TFTC
We found this on our way home to Toowoomba after the Townsville Mega. TFTC whispering palms.
Day 10 of our Mega road trip. Today we were heading home to Toowoomba. Tonight’s stop being Emerald. Pulled over to stretch the legs and told the kids we were going to find all the caches in Capella ??. Great hint! The youngest Esky found it in no time. TFTC whispering palms
A great trip over to Townsville for the Mega Event.
A fantastic week of fun and adventures
Was able to put a few smileys on the map.

Day 6 of our trek to the Townsville Mega and back with fitzy_1965 and two of my geo-kids Death_killer & my_name_jeff_1.
Today we headed from Emerald to Charters Towers. This is our last stop before arriving in Townsville tomorrow. An easy day of driving to collect some counties and a handful of caches along the way. Managed to find another cabin for some air conditioned comfort (our car air con is broken!) then decided to do the Tower Hill caches before retiring for the night.
All caches were found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned.

27,526. Found with minniek during our Grand Townsville Trek up to CacheQLD's Townsville Mega Event over Easter.
Day 6 of our Townsville Trek, and we headed north from Emerald up to Charters Towers for our final night on the road before reaching Townsville. A fairly easy drive up with a few interesting caches found before reaching Charters Towers and Towers Hills caches. It was fun to see quite a few familiar names in the Tower Hill logs from over the last few days including today ! This first cache of the day was a moving memorial. Quick find at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache, then continued along to the next cache on our list.
Thanks whispering palms !!

Day 6 of the road trip to Townsville to with LuckyL10n and today it was all about driving from Emerald to Nebo and grabbing caches along the way before hitting up some of the military units series.
No issues with the ones we found and all of these caches were in good condition.
Many thanks to all the CO's. Most logs were signed SdL / L Lion.

#13702 - 8:12:00 AM; Day six of the Townsville Mega adventure with Sol de lune and after spending a couple of nights in Emerald, we are now headed further north collecting a couple of caches along the way, including this one, as we make our way towards the Armed Services series around Nebo. All caches were found in good order unless noted in the log and each has been signed L.L10n & Sdl or vice versa. Apologies for the largely generic logs [:o)] TFTC whispering palms
