After playing Veterans Golf at Wilmington , had some daylight hours left so headed towards Carrieton and grab caches along the way. Very interesting drive around the back roads, also with some nice views. TFTC
Found it! Passing through Hammond on the way home, stopped by at the cemetery here for a quick find! TFTC!
Away for the June Long Weekend with TheWhiteDogGang. We based ourselves at Orroroo and travelled far and wide over 4 days. We managed 1,500 kms during our travels. We managed to find some really old caches, one from 2001, and even managed to get all 9 terrain ratings. Not bad for 2 old farts with no coordination. The weather was dry if not cold on occasions.A good way to spend 4 days.A quick find.TFTC
What an interesting cemetery, we're wandering outback South Australia and stumbled on this dirt road. Quick find here.. tftc
#5257 Found on sunset. Returning to camp at Horseshoe after a day of activity we just had to make the stop here for a looksee. Ghost Towns and their cemeteries are fascinating and Hammond is no exception. Hard to imagine the much larger town that once existed out here. Fave for location. TFTC.
Found this one a while ago and only getting around to logging now.Cache container is no longer an ammo tin however around the same size. Hammond is definitely an interesting town with an unusual history, this history becomes even more thought provoking walking through the cemetery. TFTC
Full time Nomads since March 2014.
Having been in Perth to visit family our stay has come to an end and we are on our way to Broken Hill for the Mundi Mundi Bash.
Staying in Orroroo for a few days. Today we headed up towards Carrieton and surrounds. On arrival in Carrieton we got a message from our Geobuddies Iluvtrekking and richlink that they were only 15k's away themselves heading down from Hawker. Great to stop and chat to them but boy it was freezing at 9degrees and sadly it was too early for the pub to be open. So we grabbed a couple of caches with them before they continued South and we went off to explore.
Turned out we came across an old cache from 2001 and also did a marvellous 4x4 track for a 1/5 cache. Views were a bit cloudy but still amazing fun.
A great day out and about.

Found on way to Horseshoe Top End. Very well looked after cemetery, well done. Tftc
Heading toward home after spending the weekend exploring the Flinders .Usually we head North-South (or reverse) past this area, so the caches out here get missed [B)]. Well, today it was time to head West through a bit of country we haven't explored before .Surprised to see such an 'open' and treeless cemetery . TNLNSL. This container should last a few years yet [^].Thanks to TheKellyGang. Now off to explore Hammond itself .
Stayed at horseshoe top end for the long weekend and grabbed a few caches.
Now just grabbing a few on the way home while wandering around a few backtracks.
Great weather all weekend, 22 during day and no wind.

We had to stop here on our way home from a camping trip. We cant drive past a cemetery cache! There were lots of sheep and lambs watching us today. Left a pathtag
Thanks for placing this as we wouldn’t have done this trip and found Hammond love Geocaching
A quick find on a good sized and well constructed container.
On our trip to Quorn this weekend, we had visited the cemeteries in Jamestown, Melrose, Wilmington, Port Germein, Port Augusta, and of course, Quorn. These cemeteries were not visited for caching reasons, but to visit the resting places of a lot of Mr J's ancestors. The Hammond cemetery, however, was visited for the sole purpose of geocaching.
Thanks TheKellyGang.

Hard to imagine a town of 600 out here now.
Last night's rain may have touched on the area, which certainly needs a drink.
Quickly found CP's replacement pipe cache
Only finding caches at an acceptable social distance, (this certainly qualifies)
With the help of Sebastbat often driving, and Jack just hangin' around.
And our good friends soap, water, and alcohol...
Stay away from smelly humans
#washyour hands
wear gloves, but please change them between caches!
#washyourhandsagain
Exercise.

Out caching the back blocks with CPwanderer after spending the weekend caching Port Augusta & Quorn.
We had a good search around gz before replacing the cache with the COs permission.
Thanks for the cache TheKellyGang, always enjoy these locations.

Checked on this for the CO with clare007 as we took the backroads home from Quorn. It had certainly gone so we placed the replacement the Kelly Gang had given us!! It is now a section of plumbing pipe.
Suspect we found gz, but recent earthworks and road repairs in the location. May be missing.
to think they farmed out here so dry so hard was it much greener 100 years plus?
8559 Located by baby&Mrs gopher at 1030. Off to drive through this part of SA. Surprised by the big logbook. Took a bit to retrieve. SL Tnx TheKellyGang
Found with e.gregory1 as we traveled around Hawker, Cradock, Carrieton, Hammond and Bruce, finding great caches in isolated and interesting places along the way, all during the June Long Weekend Event. Thanks for the cache TheKellyGang!
Found with FeatherWaite while in the area to attend the Quorn June Long Weekend events.

In Quorn for the weekend on official 'Hogwarts' business, decided to grab some caches inbetween times..SO nice to find a decent container!! An easy find in a very quite town....eerie...TFTC
Found with snappy Tom cats while exploring the area for jlwe.
Fourth find of the day. Definitely dry out here. Would so peaceful to live, can you here that sound, the sound of nothing. Country living at its best.
I remember getting a ftf on a multi that finished nearby.

Found It!
If this isn't the middle of nowhere, it must be very close to it! Although I did drive through here on the day this cache was hidden - problem was that it wasn't published until a few days later. Today I finally came back and added my name to the book!

We only became aware of this hide when the other day someone mentioned on FaceBook that there was some first to finds going around Quorn. As we were heading to Quorn for a swimming carnival we thought we would see if we could grab first to find honours on this cache. Arriving at GZ the cache was quickly located, with anticipation we opened the logbook to find it was still clean. So we signed the log grabbed a quick photo before continuing on to Quorn.
