Awesome day to be out caching. My first car was a little Buzz Box Daihatsu Handivan and I used to take that thing everywhere and she would have given this hill a red-hot crack and probably given up half way. Hubby's first car was a HQ Holden. Nice little find here today.
This cache had me and my mum bamboozled for a while but the zip tie gave it away my mums first car was a toyota carolla the log book is very wet TFTC find 194 thanks surfer girl
Well, my first car was a VH Commodore certainly would not of made it up here ha ha thank you for a great hide️
Due to unforeseen circumstances Mr Smokey Bear will no longer be a part of Team Smokey Bear and will continue his adventures as "SmokeyBearOG".
So I'm relogging all previous finds under my new account.
Unfortunately this log will not show the original logging date.
**Thanks to xsurfergirlx for this adventure, looking forward to many more.**

Checked on this cache today thinking the original hide must have degraded to the point it was no longer useable but found it to be fine. Found original container on ground but the logbook was wet so I replaced the whole cache and cable tied it. Cache is good to go once again. Please ensure you gently tuck it back into its hidey-hole after signing.
Unfortunately the recent weather conditions have caused me to push maintenance back a few more weeks.
I will endeavour to check this cache ASAP, but due to a shoulder injury it may be a little while before I can visit. At this stage it will most likely after winter, pending recovery.
### **OWNER MAINTENANCE REQUIRED PLEASE** ###

Hi there xsurfergirlx,
This cache has been flagged by Geocaching HQ as a cache that **MAY** need some attention.
You may recall having received an automated email from Geocaching HQ which explained what you needed to do.
Unfortunately, nothing seems to have happened, so I am having to take the next step and temporarily disable the cache - see here: [**Geocache Health Score.**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=713)
**You do need to respond in some way within 14 days, so others know you are on top of it, as well as indicating exactly what is happening with this placement - please don't let a lack of communication scuttle this listing.**
#What should you do now:-#
You have a number of choices so pick the one that applies from this handy list:-
- **Check On The Cache:-** Visit the cache to check, repair, replace or do whatever else is needed, post an [**Owner Maintenance log**](http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=404) indicating the cache has been checked and [**ENABLE your cache.**](https://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=235 ) Then sit back and wait for the logs of praise to roll in.
- **Place A Write Note Log:-** Reviewers don't have a crystal ball, so without your note on the cache page explaining that the site works are on-going, or you have been in hospital, or the area is in flood, they can't tell what is going on with the cache.
So please just post a note to the page (within 14 days) and when a Reviewer next looks at the listing, all will be fine for a little bit longer.
**Be sure to indicate the actual date that you expect to have it fixed so that everyone knows you are on top of it. If you have a long term unavailable cache (where you don't have an actual date) please ensure you visit the page and post a note every 4 to 6 weeks, so as to keep everyone up to speed.**
- **Adopt/Archive:-** If you don't plan on fixing it then you could consider passing it on to another Geocacher by asking them to [**Adopt it**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=54) or alternatively, you need to [**Archive it,**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=56) so it is removed from searches and someone else can have the spot. Don't forget to remove any remnants of your previously enjoyed cache too.
You might wonder what happens if you don't pick one of the above. Well, when the cache is next checked by a Reviewer, if the issue has not been addressed, or there is no acknowledgment as requested above, it will be assumed the cache has been abandoned and processed accordingly.
Honestly, I'd rather you decide, so please do something before then. Please don't send me an email but instead follow the information/advice posted above.
Thanks for your cooperation,

Searched everywhere but was unable to come up with the goods today. Even had a previous finder helping with the search but no luck. No cache here and yet duplicate caches at the next one further up the hill. What are the chances .
Had a look here despite the previous 2 dnf’s but alas we couldn’t find the cache either.
Out for a weekend around Taggerty with Dalerious doing a bit of caching, a lot of admiring of scenery and even more trying to stay dry with the constant rain.
On the way home today so decided to take the scenic route along Skyline.
Nice easy find.

Travelling home from Goughs Bay via the long way to target this little group of 3 geocaches.
After the previous find I headed back to Bertie and the other couple had moved on, hmmm. Found this cache and it had not been logged today so they must have just been Muggles looking at the beautiful views.
Quick find.
Cache container accessed with sanitised hands.
**Thanks for placing this cache xsurfergirlx**

After the weekend at Wangaratta and collecting another cache nearby we stopped here to collect this one. The search took longer than expected but eventually found this sneaky little hide. This is the sort of area I love to wander around and get lost for the day.
Great spot and great hide
Thanks xsurfergirlx for the cache.

Me dad was a mad VW lover.
When I grew up we had a succession of bugs and kombis
I've never owned a VeeDub though,
as the rear mounted, air cooled engine is hardly ideal for Aussie's hot and dusty roads
Up the short hill,
the cache was soon found under the hood

In Eildon on our annual holiday for the third year running and finally got out with the geokids for some caching. Did one on Skyline Rd 2 yrs ago so out to find a few more up this way. Took the geocruiser up this short little track and soon had cache in hand. TFTC.
Day 7 of our annual caching blitz. What a top location for views out both sides. Tftc
After driving up here and not finding the other one close by, it was great to find this one quickly. Thanks for bringing us here and the cache.

Unlike the last one, we found this sneaky hide in no time.
PS. My first car was a V8 XB Falcon Coupe.

While heading to Eildon to attend the CITO event, I went the non direct route so I was able to find a few caches along the way.
As I had already started heading along this road I decided to keep on going for a while, this was the next one I came too.
Looking for bertie seemed to take a while before he was found as my eyes were looking to close to the ground but in the end the log was signed.
My first car was a 1973 ( I think ) Leyland Mini, yellow in colour, it was a bit of fun to drive but not really sure how I fitted in to it for so long.

This is our fourth trip to the northern island this year. The first three were primarily for family events but with some opportunities to do some caching along the way. The fourth trip is different as caching is our focus. After getting off The Spirit of Tasmania we are heading north to cache at Wangaratta and then Yass before heading into the ACT and Queanbeyan for a week. After that we will travel to Jindabyne for a few days with summiting Mount Kosciuszko being our main target for this part of our trip. Then we will visit Cooma and Tumut before heading back down the track through Wangaratta and Mansfield as we make our way to Alexandra for the MEGA. After the weekend we will continue to make our way south and back onto the Spirit of Tasmania for the “drive” across Bass Strait. We are really looking forward to three weeks of intense caching in great areas and, hopefully, catching up with some geocachers in each of the areas we will visit.
Today was the second day of the Alexandra Event or MEGA. Again we joined others at the Showgrounds early in the morning to catch up on what happened yesterday and what was in the offering for today. We then headed out to cache in the area again. As we had completed the Trout geoart series yesterday, our focus for today was completion of the gadget caches and any other caches that we would come across during the day. In the late afternoon we returned to the Showgrounds for the final presentations – an excellent way to end a great MEGA event.
The group of four caches up on Skyline Drive were published just prior to the MEGA event. We had the opportunity today to look for these caches. We were certainly glad that we came to this area as the views across the lake and up the valley were superb. Despite accurate coordinates it took a few minutes to locate this well hidden cache. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks xsurfiegirlx for the cache and for bringing us to this wonderful vantage point.
***** We are currently writing detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC. "The Author" Badge challenges geocachers to average one hundred words or more in each log. On 1 September 2017 our average was 86 which seems close to the 100 target. However given that we have found so many GC caches, we have to write many logs with well over 100 words for a long period of time to get our average to the target. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that we can strive to attain this challenge. After 598 caches (which includes all cache finds up and including yesterday), the average log length is just over 99.7. We are nearly there and should make it before this current trip comes to an end in a couple of days time. Progress has been better than anticipated.*****

On a 6 day tour of Victoria with Barnzy12. Taking the red eye over from Perth we managed to visit some great places. The main reason for the travel was the Mega event in Alexandra and the opportunity to find 12 cache types in a day.
We originally travelled to Phillip bay, then up through the country side to Alexandra. Spent a few nights staying high in the snowfields and then moved over to Mt Disappointment. We then ended up back where we started returning the hire car at the airport to fly home.
Some quality caches were found all over the state, great to get a real range of cache sizes with some very large caches compared to what’s available in WA and the range of D/T options so close to each other was a bonus.
Thanks to all the Cache owners for you placements and creativity put into hiding and have awarded a few fav points based on this or the location it bought us too.
Stunning location at the time of visit we were in the clouds

In Melbourne with Cravo10 to attend the Mega in Alexandra.
We took the red eye from Perth, leaving at 1am Thursday morning, and departed Melbourne early Tuesday morning, so it was a short five day trip.
We managed to snag a couple of nice stats for the trip. First mega event, 12 cache types in a day, 10 lab caches, 50th large cache find, and most importantly my 10,000th find at Mount Disappointment.
We spent the first day on a caching run from
Melbourne to Phillip Island where we had booked into the local caravan park for the evening. We cached all day chasing down a number of the whereigo and puzzle caches from the CF series, before ending the day caching the extremities of Phillip Island, where we had both never been, an amazing part of this country.
Next morning we cached our way to Alexandra which was the main reason for our trip to Melbourne as we had both never managed to attend a mega, which were hoping to rectify in WA next year! Attended the pre event and managed to get a couple of group FTFs by torchlight which was a real highlight.
Saturday we cached in and around Alexandra all day, chasing numbers, the highlight of the day would have to be the birdbox hides around Alexandra and the multi in Bonnie Doon from that famous TV show, a real nice touch!
Sunday was an epic caching day, chasing down 12 types in a day, which required a couple of huge drives to claim some of the rarer icons around. A huge caching stat which is a very rare feat in the Southern Hemisphere. We finished the day travelling to Mount disappointment where we found Melbourne's 1st cache and then started making a dent in the powertrail, finishing by torchlight.
Our last full days caching was spent at Mount Disappointment to chase some big numbers and with a few caches around the burbs for good measure.
Special thanks to all the wonderful COs around Melbourne for their brilliant caches, and to the mega committee for organising a ripper event, hope to be back next year!

Found by Mary & David, in company with pprass and squalid, at 1450. First cars do leave an impression, don't they? David's was a 1957 FE Holden, which eventually gained a pair of spotlights, twin carburettors, and a sports exhaust. Replacing the standard cross-ply tyres with Pirelli radials transformed the handling too. Mary didn't get a car until around 1990, a 3-door Suzuki Swift with artistic decals down the side. Our thanks to xsurfergirlx.
Found at 2:53 PM GAFF1 in the company of maccamob and Squalid.

Wow what a view our favourite stop for the morning. With Geocruiser already up the track we stopped and admired the view before making the find. This one despite accurate co ordinates took longer than it should have.
Thanks xsurfergirlx for another [*FTF*] @ 09.45 hrs.
Appreciate the time and effort gone into publishing these caches and enjoyed reading about your memories. For us Mr T's first car was a white XT Falcon Ute and Mrs T's was a Mazda 323 hatchback. The ute went 4x4ing before we had a proper 4 wheel drive good memories.
A favourite point awarded.
