A quick look between a parade of muggles yielded no cache, but a large quantity of extremely painful, spiked burrs.
Despite the spikes, I still think I checked the 1.5/1.5 spots.
After the quantity of DNF’s this one might need a check by the CO.

I was afraid of a spider, a lizard and a mouse while I was looking down, them make me a surprise. It makes me feel like I can't look any further.

Companions: None
Muggles: None
Weather: Cool but sunny winter morning
Cache condition: Good
My son had a soccer match nearby, and due to the current restrictions I was "banished" to go caching while my wife stayed and watched the match. There was a sign that the pathway was closed, but it didn't seem to be so I headed in for a quick find - TNLNSL. Thanks, good to get NSW's first SideTracked

This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).
I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.
Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache.
If you plan on repairing this cache, please log a note to the cache (not email) within the next 28 days so I don't archive the listing for non-communication.

Judging by the grafitti in the posted logs it looks like the cache is inside the bolted area. Would have to break in to get it. Checked under the boiler (or whatever it is) but didn't find anything.
Love the series but this one eluded me today.
Back in Aus for a bit of geo fun... Oh, and some work I suppose.
Thanks for all the fun!

Found after hopping off a train to take a stroll along the pristine banks of the Cooks River. I soon spotted the cache upon arrival at GZ.
Good one, thanks ziggiau.

ziggiau I found your cache SideTracked - Canterbury (NSW) on 28/1/19, 3:41 pm. This is my find 2245 and find # 11 today. Thought this was going to be a hands and knees search but actually found it quite easily. Thanks for the cache! TNSLLN
Found with evil Angel on a trip to Sydney to pick up a new computer for me. Winning! Sorry for the late log. TFTC
Cache 4450 on 12 Jan 2019
Greetings from Canberra. Bobl27, HypoHippo and I had to come to Sydney to collect a computer, so I took the opportunity to seek out some new counties while in the area. If all goes to plan, I should get 7 new counties for about 2 hours work. I have picked out easy finds though to minimise time and hassle for the family, and to save wear and tear on my sore ankle.
This cache: 6th for the day and we are getting hot and tired now! We tried to find a drive in but found a easy walk to the signal box from the shops instead. Cache found quickly.
Thanks ziggiau for the cache and the fun!

Found with AngelG27 on a day trip to Sydney. She did most of the finding, I did all the driving! TFTC:-)
While in the area for a parkrun, I was able to pick up a few nice caches. Pretty warm already this early in the morning!

I really enjoyed this one as it really is a “secret” path. There are a few where I live too and I used to take my kids on secret passage walks. I’ve driven past that old hotel for years. TFTC
SideTracked find 28. That is the sort of 'secret' path that only locals would know of. As I approached GZ I thought that I should have brought the geo-mirror, but fortunately it was a quick find without it. Interesting place for a cache. Have a favourite tick. TFTC ziggiau.
Since November 5th I study Englisch at ILSC for 1 month. On this day I went to home after school and then I walked around for searching boxes. At this place I had a short search for the box.
Thanks for the cache from Bonn, Germany

Nice quick simple find after coming away with nothing in the corner, 5m away. It appears the area is set for redevelopment as this cache has a limited life of a year tops, I believe. Thanks for the smiley ziggiau
Our with aries44 on a lovely spring day, nice cycling along the Cooks River.TFTC ziggiau

I originally went down onto the platform because i thought it extended under the bridge but soon found that that wasnt correct.
Once i got in the general area it was a nice easy find.
Thanks.

Out for an early morning cycle in the rain... Nice one, interesting little path. This one was quickly spotted. TFTC and story. #618
Last cache of the day on a lovely Saturday afternoon of caching with P1ccolo. TFTC!
Arriving at GZ when I bumped into another geocacher looking for the same cache. It took a while but the find was finally hunted down after search for 5 minutes.TFTH
I decided to come down here by train for my caching hit today, as I'm sure you're supposed to do for a SideTracked cache.
I don't know this area really well and google maps didn't help much showing how to access this cache but as I walked down from the station I found a path. It lead right to GZ.
I didn't use the GPS but just used my caching instincts and soon had CIH as it wasn't very well hidden. Signed the log and replaced in the same spot but a little further away from prying muggle eyes.
Looking at google maps back here at home I'm not sure the cache is where the CO had originally placed it.

I found it with my husband lasooch, but none of us had any pen. We'll be back again soon
Great cache! Looked around for a bit but soon had the CIH. Slightly sprinkling but still an easy find. TFTC
Luckily this path was on OSM and I got us to GZ. Then I made the find too.

I little bit of railway history here, the cache was found by TC while I searched elsewhere.
Had to walk around a lot of back streets and alleyways to get to this one. The state of these public areas is the main reason why i don't often go urban caching.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
Well I certainly took the long route to GZ...I had no idea this oath was here !!
Thankfully no muggles around today as I “assumed the position” to make the grab......it did take a few goes before I spotted it though !!

Looking for a few quick park and grabs. Decided to go for three of four recently placed and unfound caches in the Canterbury area.
Three easy finds, so no need to go for the fourth - can leave that for another day.
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
Walked from my last find... and took the wrong path. As a result, I had to walk a short distance up Canterbury Road to the correct path.
The iPhone initially pushed me past GZ, but I did note the spot where I'd have put it. Quickly came back to that spot. CIH!
Made the grab and tok to a shady spot to complete signing duties.
Then back for the replace and a walk along the correct path back to *The Hademobile*.

Needing to fill in my calendar this was about the closest from work to find. I certainly got side-tracked as I took the long way around to get there. At GZ I found the potential hiding object but needed to get down on my knees and pray that no muggles would walk past me wondering what I was up too. Fortunately I wasn't interrupted and eventually had CIH. And of course as usual I found a much shorter route back to the car! Another one in the series to tick off the list. TFTC
After watching sms on periscope I walked along the pathway to the signal box where it was a quick find thanks to the generous hint. TFTC ziggiau.
A recent local news report states that authorities want to demolish the old station completely and straighten the platform to allow for the new metro to come in. Please take the time to capture a few photos of the current buildings as they may not have long to live!
Find 2 of 5 for the morning while out with the geokiddies walking/scootering the Cooks River cycleway.
The geokiddies and I strolled up here from the Sugarworks cache taking the path that runs along the train line. Arriving at GZ, geoboy watched the trains while I hunted for the cache. Lots of possible locations for a hide here so it was a case of careful checking of them all before the sneaky hide was spotted and extracted.
Thanks for the cache ziggiau. This is a great concept for a series of caches. Geoboy and I are really going to enjoy these.

It is a bit hard to see where this might be but a suitable location reveals itself. Plenty of choice and took some exploring to find the correct spot.
Quick walk up from the sugar mill cache along the path we walked daily as kids. Waited out the occasional muggles heading home and soon had cache in hand. Tftc.
This was one of 4 FTFs for me today. I was out and about and found myself halfway between two newly published caches. Was about to head for one when I changed my mind at the last second and headed towards Canterbury. A good decision, as on the way three more caches were published nearby. But would I make it to all of them?
I wasn't sure where I was going to park the car here, but managed to squeeze it in not far from gz and then it was just a short walk around. But then I wasn't sure how to access the cache as it appeared to be on the railway lines. Just then a pathway revealed itself which led straight there. After a quick search I soon had the cache in hand. Opened it to find a blank log and so I signed it as First to Find [FTF]. Yippee!
Great to be the first finder on the first of this new Side Tracked series in NSW. TFTC
