Enjoyed a loop around the lake today, what a great spot. Checked the wrong end first, but a quick find in the second place I looked, TFTC
At the beautiful Lake Hood for my very special uncle Johns celebration of life service what a amazing uncle. Found this cache with aalis_01 in his memory. Unfortunately the log was too full to add our names needs replacement log. Tftc
Had a spare bit of log paper around so have replaced the log, cache is good to go again. FYI we have signed it
Today I went for a drive past Ashburton and into the nearby countryside. I started my searches by looking for caches around Lake Hood. Great spot out here. Caxche found in the second place I looked. One day I'll have to bring Mrs Biggles out here for a meal in the cafe. TFTC, Biggles.
Nicely tucked up. Lovely outlook but a pity geohound couldn't go swimming due to the algae.TFTC
Quick find. It is a great spot for a hide.We travelled down from Nelson for the South Island Under 13 Basketball Championship.Sadly, the weather changed on the last day of our stay, and today was the only day there was time to grab a cache before heading to the stadium. It was cold and raining. The weather had been beautiful and our accommodation wonderful.
Not too many options so narrowed down & soon found. Nice view from here. Tftc
Unexpected cancellation of a work appointment gave me some spare time to find some caches around the area. Cache was easily found and all is well here. TFTC.
A gorgeous day to spend here - lots of people on the lake enjoying themselves. We had the seat to ourselves so it was a quick find. TFTC
Quick easy find in the freezing wind. Short side trip on the way back to Timaru. Tftc
All quiet here on a Tuesday morning and a quick find. Been a while since our last visit to lake hood and there's a lot more development here now. TFTC.
#21497. All quiet here on a sunny Tuesday morning. Troodles got stuck in and made a quick find. TFTC.
Cache was a fairly quick find on a detour when on a geocaching trip with a friend
All quiet here today. Found a pair of sunglasses sitting in the tussock. Quick find - tftc
A quick find here on our way to Lake Hood. Cheers
Day 4 - Thursday 23 December - Ashburton to Amberly taking the inland route to Lake Coleridge. So lets go exploring. Bummer with Toby getting a flat battery today.
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are of on another Geo adventure this time to Mt Cook for 5 days. Met up with Bullertrout and Bro on the way down. Lake Pukaki was fine but Mt Cook was wet and wild with the Hooker Valley being closed due to high winds, so did not stay long. We went exploring Tekapo, Timaru and a round trip to Lake Coleridge. Short trip and very tiring but awesome.

A quick find on the way to Lake Hood to clear it out again. Someone snuck a few more there since we were last here.
Part of a big trip with Taybeedragon to explore Mt Cook. We explored a little of it but there was gale winds, lots of cloud and rain. Some of the tracks had been closed and others were right dodgy given that we did not have our foul weather tramping kit. We had booked to stay for two nights but left the same day. More time to explore Timaru! So now I have been to Mt Cook. Still yet to see Aorangi.

Nice wander around the hood today. Beautiful day and nice day to explore with the kids
Family took us for a drive to Lake Hood while we were visiting Ashburton. A great place. While there we introduced family to geocaching by finding this cache. They found it intriguing. Thanks for the cache.
We came to Ashvegus with busy paws and while they visited family we ducked out for a few caches in a new area for us. Nice and quiet this afternoon, enjoyed the view from here. Thanks for the cache flanell11.
Day 7 of our Sth Island (substitute for Seattle) trip. Today it's Christchurch to Timaru. Enjoyed the trip around Lake Hood. Thanks for bringing us here.

Enjoyed a day out at Lake Hood. After a lovely meal at the nearby establishment we wandered over and found this cache. TFTC.
Was in the area, for once by myself, and thought today was a dot day (ops it wasn't ) so took the time to sign the logbook. It was a very quick find on a day with hardly anyone around. We love coming out here to eat but afterwards I'm always to full to bother with finding a cache.
Thanks for the smilie, it certainly is a nice location to visit.

The geocache has no box but was double-bagged so was all safe and sound. A great spot to watch everyone enjoying the water on such a lovely day. Yachting, jet ski, jet boating.....
Found ... apologies for the delay in logging this cache ... Mrs McMike2012 & I were visiting family at Lake Hood ... & had been for a walk around the lake ... area was reasonably quiet as it was quite early in the day ... so finding the cache was relatively easy ... log book completed & replaced ... TN:LN:SL ... TFTC ... #1,691 for us.
Après ski after half day at Mt Hutt. Called in for a coffee at the restaurant. TFTC!
Bit of a dull day at the lake, but being alone hearing the birds made it better. Nice find. Tftc

Nice looking real estate over yonder ...lots of boats out enjoying the water...soon found and signed the log...thanks for the cache Flannel11
Lake Hood sure is humming (literally) as everyone is enjoying their water sports. The bridge us popular with the teens. No one at gz though so was able to retrieve quickly. Thanks for the cache flannell11
A quick easy find of an unusual little cache as we biked around the lake. A couple of boys, one from Germany, were just leaving as we arrived, and we had a pleasant conversation. TFTC
Not an ideal day to be out there, wet as, but I needed to get out and at least there were not many people around! TFTC!
A great themed container, Nice easy find with some pretty wild bit of weather passing through. It meant no-one was around so that was great for caching. TFTH
Today's task was to try and clean sweep all my unfounds (bar 1) between the Ashburton & Rangitata Rivers, east of SH1. This was the 20th and the last of my targeted finds. Time now for a coffee at the Lake House before heading home. TFTC flanell11.
Mad Monday Mission with TG to grab a couple of caches in Ashvegas.

Monday night Mad Mission with TheWanglers. A wee trip into Ashburton for a cache or two in the rain. Cold, windy and threatening rain. Nice wee spot. Cheers.
A quick and easy find, while waiting for lunch to arrive at the nearby establishment. Thanks
A little cruise to AshVegas and back for an anniversary lunch. And a few caches too, of course.
Thanks to the CO's for placing and maintaining these caches. Cheers.

Found on 13/06/2018 at night for dinner and found this cache. Love to see the place in the daylight.
Find number 3995. I am down for the National Indoor Bowls taking place in Ashburton. We had some spare time this morning before we started so decided to check out the nearby restaurant to celebrate a team mates birthday in a couple of days. While having a coffee I checked my phone and found out there was a cache nearby so I shot over and picked it up. Nice quick find. Cache all good. Thank you for the placement.
Found this while in Ashburton last week. Cool wee hide, was dark when we found it so plenty of stealth cover. Cheers for the hide
I asked Near if she fancied a day in Ashburton. Thankfully she agreed. I love going on geocaching adventures with my cache buddy. Found in the dark.

Slowly making our way to the lake to check out the biking trail, finding a few on our way! TFTC
Found this rather the worse for wear. The plastic bag was not waterproof. The log inside the tube disintegrated and fell off the extraction hook as there was water in the tube. Have replaced with waterproof paper and double bagged. Thanks for placing a cache here. Will visit the Lake House on another trip. It is a very popular destination it seems.
found on a trip to lake hood found all safe and secure exactly where it should have been tftc
Back to Lake Hood, this place has changed in the last year since I was here. A quick grab thanks, once the tourists moved along. Cheers
Very quick find while out on the usual Christmas day caching with Geomum007.
TFTC!
