Recent mulching works look like they have destroyed the entire forest here, nothing but a field of mulch
Completing this cache gives me a better chance of recognising a Pittosporum - thanks Ron.haha for teaching me something.
Tried to find this last week in the dark. Daylight certainly helps. A quick find today. TFTC Ron.haha
Due to recent nearby bushfire this parkland is closed. Entry is forbidden until further notice.
I aimed to find 'Plenty' of caches (4 actually) this afternoon, which I achieved between showers. Thanks Ron.haha.
My third on this tour of the park. Coords were spot on so that helped, as there were plenty of weeds here. All good. Cheers!
Last cache for today on my way back to the car. Another quick find. TFTC Ron.haha.
The only problem with there being plenty of trees, is that geodog manages to keep tying herself around them! Found the cache despite this extra challenge! Thanks
Out and about enjoying a great day a caching with echidna44. Today was a walking day and checking out some stumps and enjoying a new area for us. Wondered around from tree to tree till we made the find. Thanks for the cache Ron.haha
Out with xambo4u, we spent the day walking in the beautiful Plenty Gorge. Which pittostorum? We wandered a little before finding the cache.
Thanks Ron.haha
Thanks Ron.haha
A quick easy find. I’d seen these trees before, but not known what they were called. TFTC
Need to find 35 caches to access the lock to the vault - Mystery at the Museum. Found your cache today. Ron.haha, thank you so much for placing it.
Accompanied with crank1 for caching day in Plenty Gorge Park to do the Mystery at the Museum. Found it. Thanks Ron.haha for placing this cache
Easy find in a gorgeous park with lots of kangaroos standing guard. TNLN, TFTC
These trees know how to breed, but not as well as the kangaroos around here. Droppings everywhere, from the trees and the kangas. Once again this was a quick find.
I like this area, don't need to stick to the tracks. Can head cross country to find the cache. Onwards..
07/04/2019 16:34 I didn't know what they are called but clearly not deciduous. This was just a matter of finding the right tree, my hat got caught several times on various branches. TFTC Ron.haha TNLN SL
It's nice to walk this park. I've lived in the area for a long time and never really walked down here.
After driving past this area several times we decided to make a day of it exploring the gorge and surrounds. This is some surprising bushland seemingly in the middle of suburbia. With Jacko and Anikano we wandered around by car and on foot, through rain and shine, ending the enjoyable day out with **plenty** of finds.
I had never heard of a pittostorum tree until today. Caching is not just a tour guide but a teacher too!
Thanks Ron.haha.

I like to mix my caching up, so today decided to head somewhere new. That big piece of bushland I always happen to drive past on the way to the Yarra Valley! An awesome day out with Geobuddies Anikano and Pacman. Can't beat the feeling of cleaning out a park! Thanks to the Co's for all the efforts in placing these caches
Was able to spot these easy, have planted plenty as blockouts in the backyard!

After a few weeks of local caching it was time to hit the road again to try and clear out a new area. No one i’d rather be out caching with than geobuddies Pac-Man and Jacko83. Even though the bureau stated rain was to be expected we took the risk. Glad we did as the small bits of spitting rain we experienced were actually welcomed as we totalled 25km of walking all up as we set out to grab every cache out in this paradise amidst suburbia.
Thanks to Jacko83’s knowledge of flora and fauna, Pac-Man and I learnt how to pronounce this tree properly on the way to make a quick find. TFTC

Suscoe headed for the Bundoora area on a mild day with a bit of sun, a bit of cloud and a mild breeze for a Summer's day.
20 caches visited and 20 caches found.
All caches are in good order and are well maintained by their owners, thank you.
Thanks to Ron.haha for this hide.
Yes there are a decent number of these trees here.

A welcome if brief respite until the next onslaught of our hot summer was a fine excuse for a walk, as by this time we were all going stir crazy. So plans were made with leafotwind, and n0w0rries.
Plenty Gorge Park was our chosen venue and this was our second find, spotted by leafotwind on approach from one direction and grabbed from the other by yours truly.
Cheers, Ron.haha.

The next couple of days and the past week were not suitable for a walk but this particular day had a forecast temperature of somewhere in the mid to high 20s just perfect for a walk. I contacted n0w0rries and nirgalagrin to see whether they'd like to get some exercise and both replied in the affirmative.
So we all spent the next few hours in the southern part of Plenty Gorge Park walking along the extensive bike trails and crossing over the creek a couple of times.
All in all a top day with both n0w0rries and myself finding a nummber of caches whilst nirgalagrin could only log a select few seeing as he had already found the bulk of them.

A big day out in Plenty Gorge with leafotwind and nirgal.
Many caches found during a 6+ hour wander here this afternoon.
Thank you for placing these caches Ron.haha.
We had a most enjoyable stroll amongst the kangaroos.

School holidays are here and so with a day off work and some bored kids at home the warm weather drew us out of the house for an adventure in Plenty Gorge Park.
We hiked around a great circle finding caches as well as admiring the wildlife and the trees but, as always, the kids were mostly in it for the swag! Luckily we had heaps to trade so no one went home unhappy.
It was good to see a wild bee nest low down in a hollow tree on the way to GZ. They were the only bees I spotted on this walk which was a bit surprising but they were loving the Pittosporum flowers!

Headed out tonight with Trailstevo for stomp around plenty gorge and surrounding. Plenty of roos about tonight and heard a Soiuthern Boobook but other than that it was quiet on the wildlife front. Always good to get out a put a few smileys on the map. TFTC
Cleaning up the map in the Plenty Gorge area saw Gunks and myself picking up a few drivebys as well as about 6kms of walking amongst the roos. TFTC
My GPS went a bit silly here, and I had to rely on the numbers instead of the arrow. hmmm...
Took the geokids to this park for a little walk and geocaching. They found this one without much trouble, with the GPS dropping us right on top of it. They took one thing, but we put in about 4-5 swag items and put in a plastic zip bag for the log book.

Another plentiful walk along the edges of the gorge. Lovely day to be out enjoying the sunshine and nice weather.
Thanks
Thanks
Out for a caching run in Plenty Gorge with Noelle04 and sog12 so they could obtain the Dragon Hidden Creature souvenir today, N' found this one in these weedy trees (I have one in the garden I must cut out...) TFTC
Out with Noelle04 and quiet1_au, we continued our walk towards this one and had a few to choose from. Quiet1_au and I chose our trees, but Noelle04 chose the right tree. Thanks Ron.haha.
Blessed with good weather today sog12,quiet 1 & moi. Pushed on & found another good hide. Now what sort of tree was it? Ah yes this one with the cache. TFTC
Looks like the kangaroos have moved down here near a kids cubby area nice hide
Another one found while cleaning out a few caches out this way on bike. Plenty of cross country action this morning but we simply followed our gps and knocked them off. Again good co-ord's and hint and the cache was soon in hand. Plenty of Pittostorum about out here, it would be nice to see them eradicated though to help stop them choking the bush. Thanks again Ron.haha for the hide.
This is a great area and, until you placed these caches here, I had never visited. It was a perfect day for a walk.

Found under the last tree I looked. Well, why didn't you look there first! Now I am all wet!
There must have been some one who liked these trees. This cache was not far from nearby houses that back onto the parklands. It must me about 2 degrees this morning it is cold.
The afternoon was looking OK for caching... it wasn't particularly sunny but it wasn't windy and it wasn't raining... and at this time of year you can't let that sort of opportunity go past. I specifically came to the Plenty Gorge Park because I needed five more caches with *Thorns!* attribute to qualify for a Challenge cache... and quite conveniently, that is exactly how many caches with that attribute were here for me to find.
I parked in Kariboo Grove (at the Greensborough end) and set off around the lower part of the part to the west of the Plenty River. This was my second stop for a quick find... and second cache with the *Thorns!* attribute.
Thanks **Ron.haha** for putting this cache here.

With another day off to keep my annual leave days low so as to be given bonus holidays I headed out on the bike in the perfect overcast weather so no sun screen was required. I had never been over this area of the city and was keen to check out this bushland and it's surrounds. Much steeper than I expected in some locations but some cool caches were found. It was awesome on Monday with virtually no muggles where ever I went compared to sometimes on the weekends when it is crazy.
After a ride around the bush for a little and a more leisurely ride along the side of the M80 I then continued around this area and back into the bush.
Found this one nice and easily thanks to the hint.
Thanks Ron.haha for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

Found this one quite easily. This area is so peaceful today. Thanks for the find!
Plenty of trees, but are they Pittostorums?
We thought not but the cache was there.

We found it and picked up the Trackable. Nice area and saw quite a few kangaroos as well as a swift fox. Aito (aged and Amon (aged 5) helped out!
Logging 3 months late. Sorry. Found by Geokid1, CharlieBear10, but there was no way she was touching it! TFTC.
Attempting the nearby Plenty of Creepy Things, we came across a couple of mobs of kangaroos standing in our way, so rather than stay and fight we took flight to the pittostorum copse. Jeckleberryandtedd and I decided the best course of action was to send in the 3 geokids for retrieval, which they gladly did. Logs signed, we were on our way again! TFTC
Continuing on our walk around down the track and ducking in for this nice find. Interesting how close the houses are to this bit of bushland. Thanks for the cache!

On my way home from work and I needed some time out and what better way than to go geocaching for a while and this bunch on University Hill looks to fill the bill just nicely
Nice quick find, thought I would be troubled by the house without the fence but it turned out to be no issue at all.
**Thanks for placing this cache Ron.haha**

Pittostorum? It took me 3 attempts to say the word let alone know what one was. The missus on the other hand was in the know and said it is the same tree that we have in our front yard. With knowledge on my side now (and a GPS) we got to a likely hiding spot and I sent the kids in, and the cache was handed back to me seconds later. I think that the kids are getting a bit tired from the walking now as there was no fighting for this one, bliss. TFTC.
Nicely hidden amongst the trees here. Found relatively quickly though and a nice size cache.
TFTC, another quick find, this time by youngest geoson. Beautiful day for a walk.
Quick and easy find in this great reserve, we love coming over here, and to pick
up some caches make it worth while,
Thanks Ron.haha

Again this is a great area, I don't know how you do it Ron, But keep it up. I left a coupe of coins and a pencil.

A fine copse of preposterouses (as Mr L calls them) and lots of places to look. Finally got our hands on the cache at 12:00. As some camo had come away we undertook some repair. Thanks Ron.haha
Found easily. Pity to see a large clump of woody weeds like this in such a beautiful forest park. Too close to backyard gardens I suppose
