The oldie nearby was my main target for the day, after acquiring that I continued on to the lake. Its a pretty impressive sight in the middle of the bush. There was only 1 other person around the lake so it was very peaceful to sit and take it all in.Thanks Beardman75Find #6124
A beautiful spot that I have wanted to visit for some time. Thanks for bringing me here.
The last in a group targeted today to close out a challenge cache on the north side

A ride around this area today with Triple turmoil and younger son, rylie. It was a great day out and we even came across a couple of earth caches, oh and I cannot forget the huge carpet snake we saw as we were riding around.
These two earth caches were fun to do and gave us some insight to the area and the quarry. Thanks for bringing us here and showing us the geology of the place.
I had to do some internet work to obtain answers, thank you.

& I visited the the quarry & found people swimming. It was cold & miserable & they spoke with English accents, which automatically explained the aversion to the cooler temperatures. Nevertheless we weren’t distracted from our task to gather information to complete this assignment!.
Great walk fantastic green area.
Thanks Beardman for giving us a reason to explore this area.

Muggle65 and I came for a wander today and were very surprised to find people swimming (it was very cool today) Unsurprisingly they were Brits so we were not as impressed with their bravery. Probably felt like a heat wave to them. Thank you for our cultural fun
Headed out this way on my day off to grab a few oldies in the area.
Parked the car in a nearby street and headed off with my pen and car keys.
After finding my targeted caches I decided to get “just one more” and ended up walking over 10km. I should have taken my backpack and water bottle in hindsight.

I had a hospital stay coming up so I thought I should take a walk to collect some information about this Earthcache so I had something to do while recuperating. When I visited the quarry there were 2 guys swimming down below and weren't phased by my appearance. It looked very inviting for any young people but not my age bracket. I sent off answers to CO hoping that they are correct. I did enjoy my last long walk on my old knee. TFTC

Came here for the old cache nearby and discovered earthcache too! Always wanted to come to the old quarry when we were living on the daisy hill side of the bushland, but the walk was too far for us. Only recently discovered the entrance from the Sheldon side. My other half grew up in Capalaba and remembered coming here as a boy. It was a stinking hot day on New Year’s Eve and the lake looked so inviting. We met a couple at GZ who were taking their pups for a swim but not themselves as the water was murky etc. so we decided not to. Took a photo on the way out from the top view. TFTC
Visited your earthcache a little while ago and thought is was about time to get the answers in to the CO.
Thanks Beardman75 for bringing me here to view this quarry.

We had the opportunity to walk through the nearby bushland a week or so ago. All up we covered about 10 km of Trail and towards the end of the afternoon found ourselves at GZ for this earthcache.
We were unaware of this location prior to visiting, and decided to sit for a while in the late afternoon sun and enjoy the tranquility. We were surprised to see how many people were at the water with either their dogs or their swimmers on. Quite a few families were having a picnic and it is obviously a well known place to the locals.

The last time i walked out to the quarry was to find the cache here in 2005. I was looking forward to the walk. today is International Earthcache day so I targeted the 2 caches here for the walk. I was surprised to see that others were here for the swimming.
Thanks Beardman75 for the excuse to take the walk again.

Two Earthcaches in a day... that's unheard of...
I was in the vicinity to find the oldie and thought on the way in that the EC's here looked doable...
Coming down from Fissility, like others before me, I was surprised at the condition of the area... It even looks inviting... While taking in the view I got hollered at by some muggles on the other side of the lake... the only other people I've seen here today...
I was enjoying myself so much I didn't even register that my Hiking Pole was missing...
Thanks Beardman75 for bringing me here today....

The slightly drizzly weather kept the muggles away today and we were almost the only people on the walking tracks. We had come to explore this area for the old cache nearby but couldn’t go home without also visiting this EC. It was surprisingly pretty looking out over the lake at GZ. Answers have been sent. Lovely solo walk around the bushland today - great weather, and the cicadas were so loud I almost wished I had earphones! While I was targeting the older caches (and hoping to find original logs!) I wasn't going to walk past these two earthcaches. I was a bit sceptical about how nice the area would be, given it is an old Quarry, but was pleasantly surprised. The "lake" looks rather inviting.
Plenty of Mountain Bike riders out and about today, and a few hikers, all enjoying this area.
Thanks for taking me here, Beardman75. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Took Geogirl for a walk to this one.. it was a lovely day with a nice breeze to offset the long walk. Lots of people enjoying the waterhole here today! TFTEC - answers sent.
Out today with my Geocaching’s buddy Grannysmith1947. Our target again was old caches had a few on the list today. But was it a good idea. So hot. As usually we can’t go pass other caches in front us.
Found 19 caches today. A mixed of Traditional, Mystery, multi and Earthcache. Of the 19 caches were 6 old ones.
Sorry for the generic post
Cache a day to keep the doctor away, or is it to keep me sane. No it’s to keep my streak alive. TFTC Beardman75 *367* streak. *2183* Finds

With a new cadre of souvenirs available during the Cache Carnival promo, today we planned to target caches which have a handful of faves (and simultaneously get some good exercise!) by riding around and tidying up some caches we've yet to find.
Having been through the area chasing oldies previously, there weren't too many trads around here to grab, but a couple of ECs always grab my attention. The quarry lake looked quite pleasant, but it was far too hot today to sit around checking out the view, so answers were gathered and a pic snapped before moving along.
Answers compiled and submitted.

Had done the fissilty earth cache after hiking in here after a nearby event searching for oldies! Why not wander down to the pretty lake and do that earth cache too! Absolutely gorgeous spot! Answers sent! Plus photo! Tftc
Making the walk worthwhile, headed down the Quarry Road and picked up 2 x earth caches, an oldie and a sleeping TB hide. Have attached evidence of my visit to the quarry removing the offending head from the pickie. From the angle of the photo, you'd expect the water to run down hill to the right.
Answers forwarded to the CO for his consideration. Thanks for scouting out this interesting location Beardman75.

Tuesday. This area was a long time coming for me. It was almost 6 months ago that Ruzzelz and myself started off to grab a few caches in this area and as he had almost severed his finger before we even started; add an overseas trip by Ruzzelz after that and then some other bibs and bobs happening.. well, you get the picture. This was a definite must do on our collection list today. We stopped by the seat and had a good look around. Looks good enough to swim in! Quite a few people were walking on the tracks today with their dogs and the day wasn’t too hot which was lovely compared with the walking I did just a couple of days previously. Answers gathered and sent off. Quite a nice area and we saw a duck swimming off in the distance.
This was the 4th of 9 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks ***Beardman75***, for showing us this place.

Over visiting from NZ to escape the grotty cold windy weather. Fantastic here before sunrise this morning, if just a little crisp. Really pleased to be able to kill three birds with one stone here this morning.
First off was getting a FTF on the nearby Fissility EC , second was being able to log a find on this relatively new EC as well and thirdly, was able to do both those things while going for a training jog along some new trails in preparation for the upcoming Taupo Ultra Marathon. I also found several other traditionals along the trails and picked up a Pathtag too, which is always a nice bonus.
The lake here in the quarry was magical this morning before the sun rose over the rim. The V trails from the ducks showed up clearly and if I hadn't been training, i may even have had a go on the rope swing.
Answers have been sent to CO. Thx for setting up this EC and bringing me to a new place.

Found whilst out on a walk with a lovely group of cachers after attending a nearby event. We enjoyed the scenery and the company, as well as the geology lesson. Thanks for bringing us here and tftc
We had just been to an event and were showered with prizes, that always makes for a good day. Plans were made to do a group attack of an Earth cache nearby. With us being the Northsiders we followed Sambuccasam in here brand new car to the closest spot to head in. It wasn’t long before RoddyC, Stortigirls and Selva Girls arrived. Right all the cool kids were here time to head in.
On the walk in we listened to Sambuccasam’s tales of growing up in the area and made a couple of detours to grab a few extra caches. Arriving at GZ, RoddyC noticed someone had broken their phone and gave it a sad push with his hiking pole before we all pulled out the questions but we got distracted with just idle chit chat before we got to work on the answers.
Answers acquired (emailed to the CO) and in no time we were heading back out to the cars.

In town for some work and enjoying the long weekend with a friend. After a long brunch we made our way out to the park to walk of all those yummy food. Enjoyed the lake and the quarry. TFTEC
I MTB around this area every other month but to date have not collected caches here. This morning with a ride schedule here I found the overnight rain had swamped even the fire trail roads. Every good MTB rider knows not to spoil the single trail tracks by riding in these conditions so I restricted myself to the fire trails and the back blocks to explore and retrieve some very interesting and some very aged caches.
We some times stop here during our rides to relax and take in the scenery. Today i had the place to myself.

I have pedaled close to this one countless times, but I never leave the nearby trail when I am out for a ride and Glider is way to much fun to stop for a cache.
Today, even at 6am, it was way too hot, way too humid and there were way too many trees down for a ride, so a cache run it is.
Unsurprisingly the carpark was quite empty. I did see a few other brave souls out there, but no where nearly as many as usual.
I did a bit of a tour around a few trails before heading on to Glider, which would take me within 50m of GZ. I arrived at the marked spot and looked around. I ma not at all sure of my ansers, but I gave it my best shot.
Thanks for making me get out on such a disgusting day for the outdoors. Back to the sensibility of the aircon.
