Caching around Cromwell today. Ventured around and finding caches. Log book signed. TFTC
Out with Natalie247 grabbing some caches in Cromwell today. Quick find TFTC central otago hilton
Was probably still there when i first looked. Since the coords are a wee bit out for me, most people will look at the obvious fence, but maybe take a look for another fence next time. Tftc
Apologies for not replacing this missing one, heading out to do so today, Will update later.
Cache was still there but fence had been repaired and kind of hidden it. Have made it a bit more obvious. Thanks for your patience all.
Hi central otago hilton
This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).
I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.
Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.
Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.
Regards

Bzzt no cache for you today. Looked at the likely spots, but no good. Thanks anyway
Looked and looked. Found a spot that was the obvious spot but no luck. May have been muggled.
We bumped our way to this cache - not sure the suspension on the car was very happy. A good find once we got there though. TFTC
It was a very bumpy ride to GZ, 4Clubs was a bit worried about her car (it's quite low to the ground) but we made it in one piece. A bit of a conversation about what the hint object actually refers to - 4Clubs and I agreed to disagree on that one. Turns out that I was right and the cache was found easily enough haha. TFTC
Heading home to omakau after a Lsar training exercise near tekapo...decided it would be a great opportunity to spend a few hours in Cromwell knocking of a few caches..
Jeez...some head shaking at this one once I found it. Previous looked elsewhere with no luck but today I got it tftc

Spending the day in Cromwell finding some caches. Was a drizzly day but still mild. Great day to be out and about.

Found with StreetWalker on a day trip to Cromwell from Wanaka where we are currently staying.
Not sure why we didn't look for this cache on our last visit here. After gathering info for the second WP of one of the PWGT5 caches nearby, it was a bit of a bumpy drive to GZ where the cache was a quick find. No beetles sighted or harmed during the search . TFTC.

#20488. It was a slow, bumpy trip to GZ, but it was still a better option than walking on a warm afternoon. Quick find. TFTC.
A quick find and will be a fast walk back to my car as it is starting to rain
Nice to see the chafer beetle nature reserve. We searched and searched all over the place under the tree and over by the new fence and all the concrete rubbish. The GPS was being a pain and kept turning off. It ran out of battery so I changed the batteries and on the way back past the car I noticed what we were looking for all along. Right by where we parked the car!! Cool thing was that we found a travel bug.
a mini detour from the fruit series Today was set aside to do a geo caching day to Cromwell if the weather was unsuitable for skiing which is was , so we set off early at about 8.30 and finally arrived home about 5.30 with approx 41 caches in total including the adventure lab , so we were very pleased. we took a muggle who have been intro' to geocaching briefly on a few days before and so today was a big geo caching experience for her and as i had 2 GPS's with me she was able to use one quite independently by half was thro the day.
we enjoyed spending some time at the historic Cromwell area which none of us had actually explored before and where we had lunch at the Grain cafe.
we only had 2 DNFs and both were of puzzle style caches which we had solved but there was nothing at GZ.
thank you for these caches

On holiday staying in Wanaka and decided to check out a town we haven't visited on previous trips and today it was Cromwell. Had a good time exploring the town including the museum which is near the cafes in the town centre area and then some caching - a perfect day really!
At around 3pm I was eyeing up the series as we had finished exploring the town. 'How long can I cache for then?' 'Until you get a DNF was the response' Well if that was not motivation to find them all I don't know what was! Woohoo local caches and series here we come!!
Had read about this beetle in the museum earlier - very interesting. One of the minis asked why a whole reserve was dedicated to just one beetle...umm LOTS of beetles. Was hoping I wouldn't actually see any though.
Started in completely the wrong spot as GPS was pointing us somewhere else but geo-senses kicked in when we couldn't find it at first and it was then soon located.
Thanks for the cache.

A nice quick find thanks.
Ms_KR and I are on the road to Southland to finish off the Southern PW GeoTour. Today was a fine sunny day, though there was some rain over night. Off to Te Anau.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

We are staying at the Rotary Glen NZMCA camp and grabbing a few caches in the wider area.
This was one of a few we found before deciding we preferred the shade at the camp.
Thank you central otago hilton.

Tftc, different road, believe it or not there was a chap walking past when we arrived
We were glad we upgraded the rental car, so it had the ability to get down this bumpy "road"! After initially searching on the wrong side, Loz spotted the hiding spot and cache was in hand fairly quickly. Thanks for the hide, the opportunity to learn about this little guy, and the adventure Found with Loz47

Saw this straight away but discounted it as co-ords led us away. Went back & there it was. Hope the beetle is ok Tftc
Easy find in obvious place. Needs a new log. Room for one or two more only.
Interesting to read about the insect. Thanks.
Interesting to read about the insect. Thanks.
I'm catching up on my logging which seemed to have stalled even though we have been in lockdown, my excuse is that I have been working throughout.
Found on our southward leg - day 3. Interesting description, good reason for a cache here.
This started out as a Geocaching road trip to Invercargill to drop off some stuff for the niece and collect some other stuff for Mrs banian. It turned into a bit of a race back to Wellington to beat the Covid-19 lockdown.
We were able to rebook our Ashburton accommodation and ferry ticket to earlier in the week. When we arrived in Picton the vehicle queue was almost a kilometre long, and got longer behind us. Fortunately, as we had tickets we were still able to get on our sailing.

A great cache, the description explains a lot. We did not sign the log book.
Came to Cromwell today to collect a couple of caches. Managed to find a way to drive there. Pulled up right beside cache could have just about grabbed it from the car. Pleased it was all dry today (would hate to attempt this track in the wet) as some of the dips in the road were very up & down. As we were driving out had a smile on my face knowing that Granville86a would have relished this track & driven it at speed. TFTC
Well this is certainly the only time in my life but I’m going to find a geocache in a Cromwell chafer bug reserve! Gorgeous sunny day today.
First find today - thankfully the chafers are all staying hidden! Rough track for a town car..... TFTC
After our failure a few weeks ago, Lions.v.Lambs advised us the cache was a micro, and provided some extra hint information. This time we searched a different location, south of the coordinates, and the micro cache was a quick easy find. Our coordinates were S45 03.472 E169 10.975. TFTC
I have just got time to locate and sign off a few caches before I head to Twizel this morning.
My GPS wanted to take me across the track.
Cheers for the cache.

Found this awesomely located geocache today! There should be more reserves for insects! TFTC
Despite a lengthy search, we failed to find a suitable hint object or cache near the coordinates nor further afield. Not sure where we went wrong, as clearly it is there somewhere.
We’re based at Arrowtown for a couple of days and headed over Cromwell way today to find a few caches and do some short walks in the process. This was one of 24 caches we located. After a bumpy drive up the dirt road, this was a relatively quick find. #2702. TFTC.
Finally a chance to get out of the truck. I got to walk a bit down the road to this cache to stretch the legs. Sorted out the lefts and rights and found the tub. Thanks for the cache, no beetles were harmed signing the log.
