Very clever. Cache full of ants unfortunately

23-Mar-23
Nice hide. About to give up in the dark after one red herring then found something odd about the initial spot that drew my attention! Glad to get a win on at least one of these bridges. Hopefully it helps me with another dnf! Smile

17-Mar-23
A great hiding spot! Really enjoyed the challenge of uncovering it, though I didn’t see any red herrings, even in the opposite hiding place where I might have expected it.

20-Feb-23
Attracted to this one because of the high number of FP. After arriving at GZ, I was pleasantly surprised by an old but quaint bridge. After searching for a while then realising I was searching in the complete wrong place thanks to the hint (I'm telling you, those high D/T caches are getting to me!), it didn't take too long to find the cache. I hadn't found any red herrings at this point, so I checked the other obvious spot and there it was.
How clever!

I have looked for this one three times before and found nothing, not even a Red Herring. Out with the Geokid for a bit of afternoon caching, the Geokid persuaded me to try this one again. Before I even got out of the car an excited kid came flying over declaring that he had found it! It checked out, the cache had the cache number printed on the side so I knew it was legit Smile I asked him to show me where he had found it, and as he was showing me we came across one of the Red Herrings too. Can't work out how I missed them the last few times, but very happy to make this a smiley at last Smile Plus bragging rights to the Kid Smile TFTC

Right where I thought it may be after a short look around of the bridge, be very careful with this one as it is likely to fall into the water if you rip it off too roughly. TFTC.

We finally found it! After two DNFs, and a bee sting, we returned today to seek it out again. With the hint from a local resident, we were able to find it quickly and log the cache.

Thanks For The Cache!

25-Apr-21
Found and left a swappable inside. Fantastic hiding spot by the way

23-Apr-21
Found 4 red herrings then the actual cache. Awesome

22-Apr-21
Returned for a second shot, found two more red herrings, but got stung by a bee, so we made a hasty retreat home to treat it. Guess we'll have to come back yet another time.

Bee aware!

06-Apr-21
Went for a walk to the bridge to have a look for the cache, but no such luck today. We found one red herring. We noticed a few muggles, the local residents, observing us from their front yard, so we moved on.

I've since had a good read through the log, and will be retrying it on another nice day.

12-Feb-21
We found 4 red herrings first!

Arrived at the cache and immediately started looking for red herrings. Well not really, but we started to find red herrings very quickly! We found four tucked away in their containers, but the red herring had escaped from the fifth. Stopped and looked around, Hmmm. Where is it? Loh and behold, a stray dog turned up. The neighbour and I caught the dog and found no identification, but it did have a microchip and the neighbour undertook to take it to the vet for identification. Having dispersed the muggle, it was back to caching. Found the next dummy cache container and then found it's twin holding the cache log book. Thanks for a fun and challenging cache find!

Found a red herring but quickly found the real thing.

Today, jesswrigley and I started the day with West Beach parkrun and a breakfast nearby. A few morning errands were had whilst making a few geocaching stops, and then in the afternoon, I headed to Anstey Hill Recreation Park for a loop in the Gun Emplacement / geological hike section and surrounds. It was incredibly hot and not a lot of shade, and there was still kangaroos and other wildlife around.

This cache was on my target/bucket list due to its high Favourite Points (FPs), with 36 FPs accumulated as of the date of my find/log.
I parked nearby, and as I was walking to GZ, I read a few past logs. I'm not sure if they helped or not, and followed that advice to take a step back to fully appreciate the situation. I then checked a hiding spot, and sure enough, it was the cache! The cache container and logbook were in good shape. No red herrings for me, although I was intrigued to wonder what they looked like, and so I checked a few spots on my way out, but no red herrings found. Sigh - the one time that you want to find red herrings! Thanks bgmat and ablea86 for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Reading the listing as I was approaching, I was expecting this to take some time. Thinking I got lucky, I was soon disappointed, then disappointed another 3 times (as were a few cache guardians when I disturbed them ️). Standing back and pondering just where this cache might be my eyes caught a small imperfection, something didn't quite line up. Yes! Cache in hand! Great cache and a well deserved FP. TFTC

Thanks for the cache a bridge not too far. It is warming up now is nearing the end of today’s caching which started at 6am to avoid the heat. Found one herring but was really ignoring the cache to see what a herring looked like. I saw another likely herring but the house across the street had a lady watching. Signed the log and got yyy

Wow - enjoyed this one! Found a couple of the dummy caches before realising my approach was all wrong. Then I saw it. Only just. What a great cache and great camo. TNLN. Cheers.

Geokid & I attempted this one a few months ago. We found a lot of red herrings & thought we knew where the cache would likely be but was unable to access it at the time. This time we planned ahead and brought with us a useful apparatus and the cache was soon in hand. We noticed, however, that most of the red herrings have disappeared. We could only find one. TFTC Smile

Found a couple of read herrings then found the prize.

Very crafty hide. Definitely worth a fav point.

Bonus numbers recorded.

Having to head out north for some personal business I decided to do some caching whilst out there as well. It was an enjoyable afternoon finding numerous caches, it helps when you are in an area you haven’t cached before. All caches were found in good order.

Today with added info I knew exactly where to look and the cache was soon found and stamped. Big Grin Now off to the other cache needed. Big Grin
