No finds since March 2020 and a string of DNF's. No response to Needs Maintenance on 24/9/21.
The rainforest walk is blocked off and has lots of water in it so we did not find it
Had a good look around for some time but the only thing found were mozzies - or rather they found us. It seems this cache is gone based on recent comments - no sign of anything when sitting down and looking down, no zip ties - needs replacement.
What a lovely walk through palms and paperbarks.
Arriving at GZ the cache was sitting there, open, just waiting for us. Perhaps someone had put it there to dry out as the contents were rather wet? Anyway we managed to sign our name in the logbook.
We put all contents back in the cache and let it down to the end of its tether.
Thanks heaps for the cache. Beaut spot.

Love a bit of conservation. GPS coordinates are a bit off, but if y9u take a seat, you'll find it.
Was nice to find one after a few DNF’s. This not a micro anymore. It is quite large. Look for the zip ties and you won’t have to leave the boardwalk.
TFTC! Relatively quick easy find with my Aunty and Uncle. I actually found this one. Pretty clever little hide! Signed by all of us as S, G, B for short!
Grub62 and I are holidaying nearby in the Gold Coast & we met up with Smiley1982 as a bit of a family geocaching get together. We were are signing as S G B for short to save on log space and for ease of writing. After a couple of previous DNF's we were searching within a 50m radius. But Smiley1982 had the right idea and found the cache reasonably quickly at GZ. The cache was in very good condition as was the contents. A very clever hide. TFTC.
We were on an Adventure - Bunadoorian, Smiley1982 and myself - we headed over to South Stradbroke Island to find the GeoTour caches ( well those we could get to and still available). The ones closest to the resort we walked to with mixed results. We were able to look for a couple of the further away ones with the help of Paul our very informative , friendly and 4WD tour driver. This was the first cache we had found on the island and my first in Queensland! TFTC CouranCove It is very sad that the caches aren't being maintained very well. This was 3 of 4 finds with 5 DNF's for the day both on and off the island. This was a great and well hidden cache found by Smiley1982.
Found it open with bits on the ground but all back in together now and ready for the next find. TFTC.
Headed over to look for this one after a bit of a swim and some food. Since quick find in a beautiful location.
Thanks!!

#4 of 5 finds on South Stradbroke this trip. First visit to Couran Cove, not quite enough time to find all the caches here, so will return to complete the geotour - hopefully the missing ones have been maintained and fixed by then.
We had to backtrack a bit and got lost somewhere near an abandoned sports ground before we found the rainforest boardwalk. Felt just like home with the Livistonia cabbage palms - we have lots in our gully at home at Eudlo, Sunshine Coast.
Stopped in at Couran Cove on our sail past on the maiden voyage with Montage, our new 11m catamaran.

Went for a bit of a ride on our bikes and decided to have lunch on the board walk. Really easy find. It was in plane sight. The key is to just walk around.
Dora the Explorer! and I have been paddling southward down the island and grabbing caches on the way.
This cache was found easy enough. We found the container out in the open however without a logbook so we put in a scrap of paper.
When replacing the cache we found the original container with the original logbook so we signed that one also and then put it all back together.
It was nice to have a break from paddling whilst trying to find the caches in this area.

Found container out in the open. No log book so used a scrap piece of paper.
We completed the fish series and traditionals around South Moreton Bay Island all by Kayak and walking. We stopped to camp overnight. Was a very enjoyable adventure using sit on top kayaks and hammock tents.
On day 1 we completed in this order, one of the caches may be out of order. We used two cars. One was parked at Jacobs Well and the other at Paradise Point tomsave back tracking. We had a very early start leaving Jacobs Well with the high tide.
Fish and Cache series, 16, 23, 19, 20, 22, Crusoe House Boat, 21, 18, 17, Jumpinpin Passage, Fish Cache Series 24, 3, 2, 1, 5, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 2 Goats in a Boat Fish Series 12.
Day 2
Camped overnight near Fish Series 11.
Fish and Cache Series 11, 57 km from Mexican, Fish and Cache Series 13, 14, 15, Dux's Hut, The Sand Dunes, Tipplers, (we had a break here and bought breakfast from the shops here). As the Sun Sets, Wallaby Lawn, Step Back in Time, The Bora Ring, Easy for Some, Minbalup, and Canoe Tree. We then paddled from here back to Paradise Point.
The adventure was fairly straigt forward, saw lots of sting rays, so make sure you have foot wear on when pushing kayaks across the mud flats which we had to do on afew occasions. I even had a fish decide to join me in the kayak. I quickly put him straigt back into he water. We were both quite exhausted on the final leg back to Paradise Point as we were going against the tide.
All in all was a fun adventure and I would recommend doing it by kayak over two days.

We had spent the morning ripping up the waterways on Jacobs Well and now realised that we were getting quite hungry. It was a toss up whether to get lunch at Tipplers, Couran Cove or try a new spot where we could pull the jetski into down here. In the end Couran Cove won as we knew we could also have a wander around the resort and grab a couple more of the geo-tour.
As we were walking around the paths two little girls stopped us to ask if we had seen an echidna in here, we responded that we hadn’t but had just seen a wallaby go hopping by and had stopped out on the water on our jetski while a pair of dolphins bobbed up and down around us, so we are sure that an echidna is probably in here too. This made them happy and they continued searching for the echidna while we continued searching for the plastic.
At GZ we jumped down and had the cache in no time.

Friday. Today was the day to collect the last of the Couran GeoTour caches. I found this cache container sitting in a lot of water/mud. Log was totally soaked. I dried out the container as much as I could and soaked up the water in the log as much as possible. I only had an ordinary pen on me, but managed to finally get some ink into the log. I replaced the log out of the water and when I came back along this part of the boardwalk, thought I would re-check the container and this time found it thrown right underneath the middle of the boardwalk sitting in a lot of water. Retrieved the container again and replaced in a dry spot. This cache is here, if not where you first look, just search a little further underneath...
This was the 1st of 10 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks ***CouranCove***, for showing us this place.

When finding these geotour caches we used waypoint averaging on our Garmin GPSr to hopefully provide more accurate coordinates. The updated coordinates according to the Garmin are:
S27 49.366 E153 24.952
S27 49.366 E153 24.952
We had a look for this the other day but our GPSr had us going around in circles and we wanted to see more of the area so we decided to come back to it. After that i spoke with a few previous finders so I would know what we were looking for and where.
Searching in the correct location sure helps! Thanks for the cache and GeoTour, CouranCove! Now we're off to find one more cache at the beach and perhaps spot some more whales like we did yesterday!

Used the updated coordinates, found the cache pretty quickly.

I was running out of time for this one. I had returned my bike to the recreation area and I was back on foot heading to the pool cafe to meet my Mum for lunch. Luckily this one was on the way. I did skip one other that was close by due to time restraints.
I arrived at GZ and did not see anything obvious. Check the hint. No hint. Read the description. Hmm. Boardwalk. This is not a boardwalk. I am on a bitumen road. Read the logs. Relocate.
Once again my GPSr had a moment in here. I watched the arrow count down to 5m and started to look. The previous log suggested that it should be an easy find, but I could not see anything. [xx(] Check the GPSr and it is reading 34m again.
No trouble with the find once I actually was at GZ. I am not sure it was exactly where it was meant to be having read the note form the CO in the logs. I left it where I found it.
The previously posted co-ords were good for me. reposting for others to use. S27 49.365 E153 24.951
The owner really needs to update the co-ords on the cache page, and maybe check that the cache is exactly where it is intended to be.
