Logs
Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I live full-time in our caravan travelling around NZ, visiting the places we want to visit & doing the things we want to do and fitting in a bit of Geocaching here & there we had been staying at the DoC Campsite at Peel Forest but were now moving into the Mt Cook area decided I needed to stop in at the Fairlie Bakehouse & grab a couple of their World Famous, in NZ, pies needed to find a cache today, so we went for a walk down to the Rugby Grounds to see if we could find this one despite reading all the doom & gloom logs for this cache, it ended up being an easy find, log-book signed, cache was returned as found were also pleased to add another 'smiley face' to the tally TFTC ... TN:LN:L not S as very wet this was #6,516 for us!
Armed with jandals and a chilly bin, a couple of Aussies headed across the ditch for a 3-week tiki tour, exploring the beauty of New Zealand.DAY 17: Mt Cook and Lake Tekapo. Thankfully in the very first place I looked. Thanks for showing us this special place by placing this cache, mackcollege tn koe~~
After searching around for a while we extended our search area and found the cache. It was in good condition but the logbook was full so we added a few pages. TFTC.
bunadoorian and I had our breakfast in town and then came to find this cache. We searched and searched and after reading previous logs we extended our search a fair bit from the GZ our phones GPS had. bunadoorian soon had the cache in hand. While I went back to the car to get more logsheets bunadoorian was kept company with the cache guardian - a ginger cat!! TFTC and for showing the students about geocaching - Mackenzie College.
We started our beautiful journey through the South Island in Christchurch. Here we went on a big sightseeing tour and visited lots of caches. We then travelled via Lake Tapeko, Dansey Pass and Moeraki to Dunedin for the MEGA event. In Dunedin we visited the MEGA events and together with many other cachers we found many caches around Dunedin. A few days later, we travelled on through the Catlins to the southernmost part of Bluff. We then visited Te Anau and the tourist town of Queenstown. In Wanaka we went on another sightseeing tour until we reached the west coast via the Haast Pass. We hiked to Fox Glacier and Franz Josef Glacier. We continued along the west coast up to Westport, stopping at various sights along the way. Richmond and Nelson, the sunniest cities, were also on our list.A few days later we reached the east coast again in the wine region of Picton and Blenheim. After a few days, we travelled back to Christchurch via Kaikoura. We visited many geological sites, completed many adventure cahes and found many caches along the way.We travelled almost 3500 km and had so many great experiences. Many thanks to all the ownersTeam sissifalke
Found - -3rd down -with keydey in NZ visiting from South Africa - first one for us in NZ
TFTC found with nzref, Robynjst, ljbbb, and bradentu01 while heading towards Lake Alex
Looked for a bit before spotting this one. Coords are a bit off. Thanks for the cache.
It didn’t take us too long to find this, thanks to info gleaned from previous logs, and all was quiet at GZ when we visited.. The log was wet but writeable. TFTC mackcollege.
Didn’t take long to find here today whilst passing through. Lovely sunny day. Tftc
Pov your that one friend in the school group that finds every single geocache.
Pretty easy, clue gives it away.
The coordinates were a little off by like 1 or 2 metres.

This one was also easy because the clue kinda gave it away and it was fun finding it
We did not find this one searched for about 10 minutes couldn’t find it we think it might of been moved
Thanks. A bit of broken glass around the building so be careful if you have children!
A bit of a hunt, but was found just as we were getting ready to get back on the road. Nice hide, TFTC
A quick stop on the way back from Tekapo. The weather is really turning thereTFTC
Took a detour to this cache to let the slow traffic get ahead. Took a while to locate and needed to read previous logs to realise which side of the fence we needed to be on. A hunt through the ivy and we were smiling
The title doesn’t mean anything any more- it would have been interesting to see this one when it was first put out. Found after reading a few logs. Found with Debsnz. Thanks for keeping this going although the original CO’s have probably graduated and moved on.
Day 2 - Labour weekend extended road trip with Kiwicampnut - relocated to stay south of the ditch.
Hope the strident had fun placing this, a shame not many others have survived.
Expanded out search and found about 5 meters from the corner of the building.
No broken glass at GZ, but could be where you start searching.
Thanks for the cache mackcollege

On a trip with Ruru_NZ to gather the tour caches needed or in my case not done yet. Should be able to knock them off on this trip.
Decided to do some of the remaining ones in Fairlie before dinner. This one is out with the co-it’s but is still there to find. Go wider with your search.

The wind was incredibly strong when I arrived here. I could barely open the car door. This was my second search and this time I found it. Thanks #6727
Another good find with woolwood9 today.
*Thanks for the reason to visit the area - we enjoyed the drive around!*

Coordinates a bit out so the hunt took forever, but an easy find once I was at the right location. TFTC!!
Nice quick find and I left a little friend to keep the Teddy in the cache company
A bit of a needle in a haystack in amongst all that ivy. I gave up after coming across a pile of manure and a dead hedgehog in two different spots...
Iceman 88 was here
Did about 30mins of looking in the sticky situation and then ivy on the ground .. No luck ..maybe missing?

Found with StreetWalkerNZ on our last day in Fairlie before our scenic route home to Christchurch. A beautiful sunny day though started with a very hard frost, so we weren't in any hurry to get going this morning .
We couldn't leave Fairlie without looking for this cache and a Sunday morning meant all was quiet at GZ. That was fortunate as we struggled to find this, not realising we should be searching in the grounds themselves . Once in the right place, the cache was quickly found. TFTC.

#18504. Given the frost, a quick find would have been good, but that wasn't to be. We looked for a long time outside the fence. Eventually we worked out we needed to look on the other side of the fence, and Troodles made a quick find once at GZ. TFTC.
We stopped in Fairlie to have a look at a couple of buildings so thought we would do a geocache and this was the one. A nice easy find.
Found after an extensive hunt, I didn't find close to the hint, just laying in some ivy type of plant, hid it close by.
Stranded in Fairlie with car problems.have to make the most of it so caching around town.
This one looked at the wrong place...
But anyhow thanks

JDScout and I are having a long weekend at Fairlie. We had a fantastic day skiing at Round Hill today. Thankfully there was still a little time for geocaching. Thanks mackcollege for placing this geocache 7614 find for me.
Sadly there was no large event in New Zealand in 2019 but there are a few Mega events planned in Australia. New Zealand will have another large event in 2020 in Auckland.
======== NZ Mega 2020 ========
Planning for the NZ Mega 2020 event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. Thanks for hiding this geocache.

After arriving in Fairlie for a caravan rally I leapt on my MTB to gather in a few of the local caches before Happy Hour. Nice quick find as I headed out of town. Thanks for the cache mackcollege.
My youngest son takes the credit for this find. We were wandering around all over the place, but he soon had it in hand. TFTC.
We found a number of caches on this trip - thanks to all the hiders for there hides. Trying to get these all logged.

The title threw us for a short while, and then suddenly there it was. As an earlier log suggests we think some camo has come unstuck perhaps. All signed, TFTC.
We weren't sure on the title. Perhaps some camo has not lasted well? A bit of glue seemed to suggest that. Found with Karma Reprint at the beginning of our caching adventures weekend. TFTC.
