I was not planning on a big day of caching but when AlphaDeltaIndigo and Everest High practically turned up on my door step and offered a ride, it was almost impossible for me to refuse their offer. While I missed out on their early morning event hopping and caching down at Oatley, I was happy to pick it up from here.
Our first stop was the ‘Australia Day 2018’ Event Cache at Forestville RSL. We bumped into vk2df in the car park and headed in together. It was nice meeting and chatting with the group of cachers, some who had travelled as far as Canberra, the Central Coast and even Newcastle to attend. I dropped two trackables into the event, which I had picked up in New York to bring back to Australia. Thanks For The Event Cache BindiGuider.
Traffic along the Pacific Highway proved a nightmare as we set a course for the next event, ’The Great Aussie Keytag Trek’, at Fagan Park in Galston. By this stage we were now running rather late and were at risk of missing the tail end of the event. We called ahead to the Cache Owner to flag our impending arrival and managed to find a more fluid detour to reach the event in time. While we ran out of time to partake in the key tag trek, we were able to catch up with some familiar faces. Thanks For The Event Cache Calypso62.
I noticed the ‘Dural Tunks Bush’ in Dural was 22 months unloved, and as soon as I told AlhpaDeltaIndigo and Everest High, they had blinkers on ready to hit it up. An easy find for us, which was nice and great to collect more unloved days, as always. Thanks For The Cache pjmpjm and Purplepeopleater - and thanks for maintaining the cache so it could be found once again.
‘Thunderbolts and Lightning’ in Galston. Finding the cache was the easy part! As many have before us, extracting the log was much tricker than expected. Our suspicions proved to be right on the money but it took multiple checks of every option, before the log revealed itself. Thanks For The Cache Calypso62, you devious nutter!
We continued to ‘Dural Mitchell Fire Trail’ in Dural, and enjoyed the pleasant walk towards Ground Zero. This was another cache, which took us longer than expected but we knew it was not going to be the most straightforward hide. After resorting to the logs of previous finders for clues, we widened our search and broadened our thinking somewhat, before I spotted something glistening in the sun’s rays. I indicated to Everest High and AlphaDeltaIndigo that I had spotted what we were looking for and gave them the chance to see the forest through the trees (or is it the tree through the forest… who can be sure?). Thanks For The Cache pjmpjm and alfyboy.
I was keen to attempt at least one Multi Cache today, so we set our sights on ‘What's Cookin??’ in Kenthurst. We collected the information at the published co-ordinates easily enough and continued towards the final location. Once there, it was a straight forward find and we had the Cache In Hand without the kitchen burning down. A nice sized container was the prize! Thanks For The Multi Cache Calypso62.
‘Four!!!!!!’ Mystery Cache in Dural. I had found the former cache, which was virtually identical to this new one, so knew exactly where to go. A nice quick park and grab for us, as we started making our way back home. Thanks For The Mystery Cache Purplepeopleater.
One last detour on the way would be ’Train Spotter - 46 Class’ in Beecroft. I remember coming here once late at night to have a look but must have forgotten to log a Did Not Find for some reason. This time, however, we were here during day light and the search was a little easier. Co-ordinates are fairly spot on for us and it was not long until we uncovered the sneaky cammo, along with the cache. Thanks For The Cache Blundo Busters.

We will try to get there in the afternoon.
Don’t forget to log will attends for this one too:

Only 50 away from MEGA status now. Will your “will attend” be the lucky 500th?

This is the best cache event ever. I wish you could give events fave points but alas ... you can't. Hubby and I scootered around the park for the key tag trek, grab each clue as we went and looking at the old tractors and old cars and black smith and gardens and ponds on the way through.
Got all the clues and figured out the puzzle answer quite quickly. I'm a lady of words after all.
Then had a yummy chicken n salad for lunch and the group photo. Met some CO's and cachers.
Really great Aussie Day.

Well, Calypso you have done it again such an awesome day. This was our first keytag trek and such a beautiful park. Had such a good time. Thanks again
What a fantastic event! Had a brilliant time doing the keytag challenge and catching up with everyone This park brings back many lovely memories of golf picnics with my family and friends as a kid. Was great walking around and seeing the familiar spots as well as some traumatic ones but that's another story . Thanks so much for a fab day Calypso62
Great to see some familiar faces and some new ones. Loved the little exercise that was set up and was able to complete it quickly but not quick enough to miss the group photo. Thanks to Calypso62 for putting on the event.

Caching buddy: EverestHigh and JordsAu
Traffic had us stuck else we would have been here earlier. A quick bite and a little chat later, we head off to the next adventure. I heard good things about the adventure experienced by all at the event, and wished I had more time..
Next time for sure!

Caught up with a few geomates, many not seen for a while. The park was getting plenty of use with many many celebrating today with BBQs, cricket games and just relaxing in the shade. Multinational representation rivalled that of the gardens.
We did the trek and MummyPenny came good with the keyword at the end.
Another beaut event. Thanks Calypso62.

Another fun event with the added challenge of finding the keytags around Fagan Park!
I started the day with two cache finds along Porter's Road, sort of in the same area, then drove over here to Fagan Park where everyone was beginning to arrive. After a bit of caching chat I headed off on the Keytag Trek. The tags were all spotted along the way but it was really really hot walking across the fields in the sun. Fortunately most of the stops were in shady spots.
I liked the old vehicles on display and the things around specially for Australia Day.
A part of my work life used to bring me to this park from time to time but I haven't been here for over 10 years. Things have grown and changed. Its a really great looking park now!
Thanks for all your effort in organising this event Calypso62!

Another great C62 event. Attended with Maddie (the new Bella) who was very well behaved and kept her snout out of peoples lunches.
Good to catch up with a few people and hear what others have been up to. TFTC

Another calendar day, a need to up the find count!
Was after four finds today to up my Aussie Day total to ten. Hmmm, I can do it with three events (getting me the souvenir) and one other.
Found out three events that worked, and spotted one possible traditional (with a possible alternate find being an Earthcache). Got the three events and the traditional - and ended up seeing **Everest High** at all four!
Happy Australia Day all!
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
Three finds down and then the drive back up from Oatley to Dural for my final grab of the day.
Great roll up here, and even did *The Great Aussie Key Tag Trek*, even though I arrived a bit over half an hour after the advertised start. Nice concept, **Calypso62**, especially for those like me who have found all the caches in Fagin Park.
Of course I was "Tag Blind" on the first one I looked for...
Some great company and chat, and of course the obligatory group photo. And signed the log.
Finally time to head home.
Giving it a favourite because... oh, that's right, I can't!

Yet again another wonderful Calypso62 event - and I didn't partake in most of it!
We turned up an hour or so after start time, and it was already quite warm. I do not cope well with the heat so I set up our chairs in a shady spot near C62's family - some non-geocachers, and enjoyed chatting. The time flew, and it was soon photo time, with my trusty geoboyfriend again taking the group photo (photos) for us.
The chatting with the muggles / semi-cachers was still going well so I returned to my possie. Next it was the FTF draw and I remembered when I signed in that I was number 19, simply because I like the number 21 and thought about skipping a few places in the logbook to sign there instead, but I didn't. So yes, when C62 called out number 19 I said to those around me "I'm pretty sure that's me", I'm not sure if I was taken seriously or not but next thing you know that FTF prize (a bag of lollies, yum!) was in my hot little hands! A very appropriate FTF prize for such a warm day (I appreciate it wasn't as warm as it could've been).
Thanks C62 for all your effort. I'm sorry I didn't participate in the key tag trek but I do hope you have more of them in the future, especially here, as I'm still yet to discover and experience all of Fagan Park! It really was just too hot for me today. Even though I didn't fully participate in the event, I had a wonderful day, so thank you very much for making my Australia Day 2018 a wonderful one (and for the souvenir too!)

Unfortunately we arrived late and even missed the photo, but there were still a lot of recognisable faces around ready to chat. Fagan Park looked as good as ever and was being fully used by a lot of multinational families, so that was good. It was great meeting some geocachers we haven't seen for a very long time, we'll have to get to more events this year. Thanks as always to Calypso62 for getting us out here again, we love visiting The Hills.
Great day out with family as well tagging along. Thanks for organising the Even Calypso62. Loved the keytag trek and our Prize for completing it.

Quite a good turn-up, both of family members & geocachers, as well as a great location. Missed the group photo - it happens.
Many thanks to C62 for his organisation skills.

Great park and people, just wish my legs were younger! We made it though and squeezed in a few local caches as well as Calypso62's tag hunt.
It was a very popular venue for many cultures of folks, all co-picnicking without squabbles.
Thanks for your efforts Calypso62

To celebrate Australia day and obtain the Groundspeak geocaching souvenir, I joined the Great Aussie Keytag Trek, organised by Calypso.
When I arrived I noticed the colourful gazebo and met up with the other cachers. Of course we started on our KEytag trek, together with Goingplaces2. We had a lovely walk, talking about our common hobby, and picking up another cache on the way.
The Fagan park is a nice park with themed gardens for different countries. Of course I was pleased to see a Dutch garden, even though it was not the tulip season and there was not many flowers to see.
Thank for organising this event, Calypso62!

Following our quick find on Thunderbolts and Lightning we were the first to arrive and were early for this event.
It was a very well prepared event and we really enjoyed going on the Great Aussie Keytag Trek which took us on a tour of many different places in the park.
It was fun teaming up for the Keytag Trek and solving the puzzle word.
There were lots of cachers to chat with and it was a most enjoyable event. Many thanks to Calypso62 for a great Australia Day event. What a shame that we can't give a favourite point for an event. This one certainly deserves it.

What an absolutely fabulous day that was despite the hot day and high humidity. Fagan Park looked fabulous with lots of family groups taking advantage of the facilities. The turn out for this event was excellent with some cachers travelling large distances to get there and I really appreciated that. The Keytag Trek avtivity proved enjoyable for those who gave it a shot. I'm looking to possibly hold this event annually at different venues. Congratulations to all for gaining your special souvenir for today. Many thanks to all my GeoMates for helping to make my event a great success. Happy Australia Day!!

The 4th AUS Day Event in my Australian Crawl on AUS Day 2018. With caches along the way between events of course. Great to see so many familiar Geocachers and to meet new ones. I also got my 2000th cache Milestone today on Calypso62's clever and enjoyable Multicache "Watch Out for Muggles" , which is good advice to any cachers. I gave a favourite point for that one. stayed long enough to sign log as mum wasn't interested in hanging around. she wanted to go home after a long week in tamworth.
Just another reminder......
There's virtually no seating at Fagan Park so please make sure you bring your portable chairs or a picnic rug to sit on.

I hope to attend your Event after several others, so please don't finish earlier than your published time of 2.30 pm. ADI will attend with me.
I'm looking forward to seeing you all on Friday. The group photo will be taken at 12:30pm so hope you can be there for that. The Keytag Trek should take 1 to 1.5 hours to complete, depending on what you want to see along the way.
If you have any trackables to move along, don't forget to drop them into the cache listing before you come.
The weather forecast is for another hot day so be prepared for that with plenty of water, hat and sunscreen. Remember, this is a BYO everything picnic.
The "Friends Of Fagan Park" will be conducting an open day. Check out their website for more details:
