cant find the container and havnt really been active on this site lately
Didn't managed to find it with KingiTuhoe and CaffineNoise. We were searching at night so will have to try again when it's a little lighter
Felt liked we looked under every rock but did not find. Disturbed a spider with a red back. I hope it wasn't a Katipo!
Found late this evening, no issues with muggles aside a penguin wandering across the beach in front of me. TFTC!
Nice walk along the coast looking for a few caches. Initially looked in the wrong area, but once was in the right spot was easily found. TFTC!
I have a 3 month sabbatical mostly traveling around the planet. My goal is to find and log 1000 caches. New Zealand is my 4th station traveling from south Christchurch to north Auckland, my first visit here, its far away. This is my sabbatical-cache #705.
Nice quick find with woolwood9 today, cache not covered and easy enough to access.

The cache is still there and accessible but yes there has been quite a lot of 'pruning' (more like hacking) done by someone who doesn't know what they are doing.. quite a mess, you can still pick a path through. A nice spot all the same, thanks for the hide.
So some person cut down a tree which I am assuming was blocking their view and piled it all on top of the cache. We will come back later.
An early morning find, I hope the occupants of the nearby camper van were still asleep! TFTC.
Since we still had some time after the visit to weta Cave until our flight, we drove through Miramar, looked around and logged one or the other cache. Many thanks to all owners for laying and caring.
Nice easy find, quite hard getting to the beach though, lots of branches have been dumped over the tracks.
Together with TEMBO! I had a really interesting geocaching-trip today. We could find some geocaches, met some locals and had a great talk to them.
Concerning this geocache I want to say thanks because we had much fun in searching and finding this geocache! The cache made our trip even more interesting!

Quick find on an Sunday afternoon trip around the Miramar peninsula. TFTC!
I thought this would take a while as lots of rocky hide holes, but we found it fast lots of lovely yellow flowers and dreaming of buying a property here one day
I parked in the obvious place very close to the cache, made my way down to where the GPS said to go and I was surprised to find the cache within seconds considering how many potential hides are around here. Nice that it's in a location away from prying eyes. TFTC.
Out grabbing a few caches in the dark on a cold and windy night on the south coast. Nicely hidden. Thanks for the cache.
Found it after navigating the bushes and the darkness... only to have left the pen in the car, so back I went and back I came.
Log is a little damp.

I departed Seattle on the evening of Tuesday July 2 to begin an eight day adventure in both Australia and New Zealand. I flew to Los Angeles and then on to Sydney landing early on Thursday morning. I am here for the OZGeomuster 2019 "The Gong" Mega event down in Wollongong as a Lackey geocaching ambassador. I will be spending the next four and a half days down in the Wollongong area, geocaching with a lot of the locals. Then I will return to Sydney and fly over "the Ditch" to Wellington where I will spend two days before returning to Sydney for the long flight back to the "States" and finally home to Seattle.
Day Seven of my eight day adventure and I arrived in Wellington late Monday night I will be hear for just under two days. My goal is to find the oldest cache in New Zealand, host an event to meet some local geocachers and explore the Wellington area via geocaching. Before I planned this side trip I reached out to a local cacher RogerW1nz to see if he would be willing to take me out to find GC46. He was willing to pick me up at my hotel and drive me around the Wellington area to find some caches.
This morning decided that I would walk from my hotel to a meeting that I had, at one of the government buildings, in the Central Business District. I thought that I would walk along the waterfront to enjoy the view as well as find a few caches on my way. After my meeting ended I walked back to my hotel and found a few more caches on the way. I met up with RogerW1nz at my hotel and he was going to take me back to the airport. Since we still had some time to kill we took this opportunity to find a few more caches. This was a quick and easy find, I signed the log and replaced the cache, thank you for placing and maintaining this cache for me to find.

#300 I don't usually like hunting around looking for a rock in an ocean of rocks but I wanted number 300 so persevered! Last find of the day as battery running out. TFTC.
All good here. Found with little blue hen and the grandkids on our way to scorching bay. Lovely day for a bit of an adventure. Tftcsl
Thanks for placing the cache in this lovely place, no penguins today but plenty muggles out and about on ANZAC day.
Last day in Wellington with Mrs Dragon after staying in the city and taking the opportunity to catch up with friends and family. So as it was raining (and shops were shut) we went for a bit of a drive before catching our fright back home.
As the time was drawing closer to flight time we went around the coast at Miramar to get up close to the raw beauty of it. The landscape did not dissapoint although Mrs Dragon stayed well entrenched in the car.
Nice quick find here and had the place to ourselves, thanks for the journey
thanks for the placement

Last one for today, to end a great morning of geocaching for the day. Popped out to Miramar for a quick errand - 2 hours later and a handful of caches, a fun Easter Monday! A quick find here - the log book was slightly damp, but still able to write on it. TFTC
A good friend of mine and fellow geocacher, Demainiac, was in town having travelled up from the South Island for an event that we were both attending. Naturally, once that event had reached its conclusion, plans were made for the two of us to spend the evening out finding some caches. So after dinner, and after grabbing an additional friend who had no idea what he was getting himself into, we hit the road and decided to focus on a few caches around the coast line. So that is how we came to be looking for this particular cache on what was to become a dark and rather wet evening. So after pulling up as close as we could, we made our way to GZ on foot. However, on this occasion I charged on behind Demainiac but forgot my phone as I had left it in the vehicle. But by the time I went to get it, I heard a resounding 'found it!' and Demainiac had made the find. As a side note, it turns out that Mrs Demainiac (who was safe and sound at home in the South Island) grew up in Breaker Bay. What an amazing spot for a childhood! Anyway, the log book has been signed and the cache is nicely back in its spot all ready for the next finder. Thank you purpleneoncoconut for taking the time to set up this cache. We really appreciate your efforts in doing so.
Found it on a bicycle-tour through the south of Wellington!
Thanks for the cache!

Last time I was in Breaker Bay, my car.... broke. That put an end to my caching day. Back to collect a few on Waitangi Day four or so years later, fingers crossed this car does me well ha! TFTC.
Quick find where all good at GZ. Found far sooner than I expected! Thanks for another smilie.
After spending too much time here last April and having no luck, I was keen to find it this visit - especially as it has been found more than 30 times in the meantime! And what do you know; I found it in the first place I looked. Isn't that always the way? (Honestly it is - happened to me two days ago as well.) TFTC. A satisfying #2100.

Down in the Capital for an extra long weekend before exams start, with Jag50, Merlot58 & Bertie Blowfish. We headed out this side of the city to be close to the airport for our flight back to Auckland. Lots of places to search, but eventually we located the cache.
Just taking a short drive around the peninsular and grabbing as many of the caches we could after the MEGA weekend. This was the fifth and a nice easy one. Thanks CO for the cache.

With a group of fellow west Aucklanders Merlot58, Aiden29 and Bertie Blowfish To attend the MEGA and for a fun long Labour weekend’s caching. Thanks to all the cache owners for setting up and maintaining the caches. Sorry for cut and paste logs. Lots of rocks at gz but fortunately we didn’t have to search too many to find this one.

I’m in the Windy City to attend the Wellington Mega with a few fellow Westies from Auckland. We’re having a great time as we explore the area collecting smileys as we go. Thanks for bringing us here, sorry for the copy and paste logs but am using a Cachly template to log as I go. Once we found our way to go it didn’t take too long to find

A little bit of time left before the flight, so a few more caches? Of course! TFTC!!
Our last day in Wellington, we were here for the Wellington Mega Event. We have had a fantastic weekend, we have attended a heap of events, found a heap of caches and met some great like minded people.
We did not really have a plan for today other than to get one challenge cache in town and to be at the airport this evening.
So we thought we would just pick up a few traditionals as we made our way towards the airport.
We have never been in this area before so it was wonderful to drive around seeing the many pretty wee areas, we prefer areas such as this without the throngs of people.
There was a car load of men wearing gang patches fairly close to GZ, which is something we do not really see in our home town. Wasn't sure if we should carry on and find it or not. Decided to give it a go. The cache was in the first place I looked, love it when that happens phew!
Thank you purpleneoncoconut for placing this cache and thank you for the smilie

Down for the Wellington Mega with KirsTim & yorkshirekiwi83, we were doing the Waves to Wairarapa event so visiting waypoints in the airport area. No problems with this find here, thanks for the cache.
In town for the Mega in Upper Hutt with Vamber & yorkshirekiwi83, we were back over here to gather information for a challenge so found a few caches on the way. Signed the log as KKKTS. Located the hint and soon had a cache in hand, thanks
Spent the long weekend down in Wellington and the surrounding region with Vamber and KirsTim, we were there for the Mega event and we picked up some caches along the way. Apologies for the generic log, but a big thanks to the cache owners for their caches. TFTC
yes but which rocks? found after a few false attempts.
What an elongated weekend with firstly an over night at waikanae and gatherin g in a few caches around there, and then onto the Hutt valley, travelling through to the Wellington Airport to pick up geo son and head to Karori where we stayed for the weekend and I stayed on for a further day or two before heading back up north again. At least the SH 1 was open going home and I I didn’t have to travel over Paekakariki hill which I did on Friday.
I managed several caches around Hayward/ manor park area, Avalon, Lower hutt and then around the coast to Breakers bay etc etc before going to rongotai and then south to Moa point etc. before heading to the Airport.
Saturday we picked up a couple of challenge caches and others on the way up to the Event, getting there in time to register and head to the CITO event. Then a few more challenge caches and trads before heading to the Flash mob. Back to the venue where we had tea and got ready for the quiz night. Which unfortunately went on a little long.
Sun day saw us pick up a long over due mystery cache on tinakori road before heading to Petone and then up to Upper Hutt where we completed the Lab caches some puzzle caches and thee wherigo before heading back yo Karori to have tea with grand chn and family etc.
Monday we went to Zealandia where we completed two more caches before taking geo son back to the airport. I then drove home the next day after the bulk of the traffic had gone.
It was a great weekend and a great Mega event . thanks to the organisers and ALSO thanks to the REVIEWER who alerted CO about the status of the their caches etc so most caches were actually there and not missing. This was a truly amazing effort on the REVIEWERs part. Thank you.

First day of my Wellington Mega weekend. Starting in the CBD region I headed out to the airport to pick up some wheels then travelled around the coast, to zelandia before ending up at the base of wind turbine looking over this and many other GZ locations.
Months of puzzle solving paid off.
Thank you to the COs for the geocaches.

Now to find dinner!

Driving around the coast and stopped to admire the view. Happy to see a cache was hidden close to where we stopped. Didn't take too long to find.
I've been this way before on a previous hunt. Great to have an excuse to make a return visit to this gloriously rugged part of the Wellington region.
I visited here with team cacher zboy wonder. Given our lack of success with the CO's Miramar caches we wondered if we would be any more successful here. Fortunately our luck turned.
Cache find was straightforward, true to coordinates and hint. Cache all in order. Log signed, then all safely re-hidden, just as found.

Quick find, all good with the cache, on a day that had plenty of sun and wind in equal measures, TFTC
I had a bit of time to spare between landing at the airport and heading to my hotel in the city to work so drove around to find a few caches. Definitely not in the first place I looked, or the second, and I think it took more than one look in the spot where I eventually found it to find it. Whew! TFTC, Biggles.
Omg...so cold...looking under hint objects but eventually the gps helped narrow the area and my 7yr old found the spot!
Last day of winter - and it's a wintery day. Decided to grab this cache after work, and I'm glad I did it just before it got dark - it might have been too tricky to do as a night cache. Pretty quick find by looking for the right hint object.
