Wow! What fantastic views from here. Stunning. We made our way to the GZ and spotted it straight away. A bit of a difficult retrieve of the cache, signed the log and walked back along the beach. TFTC

13/09/21 I found this cache which I was unable to sign due to it being out of my reach. Today I was back with a friend who was tall and willing to retrieve the log for me to sign.( 2021 Tokerau) Also happy to announce despite the DNF's it is still there in the same place.

Found and for CO. But I'm not going to risk slipping down the hill or I'm not tall enough to reach either.

Queen's birthday weekend in Northland. Found it more by reading previous logs than "Piggy in the middle". TFTC

Definitely an amazing view here!

Nice spot for a cache.

Found the cache relatively quickly and my height was helpful in retrieving it!

Thanks for guiding us up here!

Staying in Tutukaka for a few days. Out touring this peninsula this morning. Read the logs and visited the cache to find the lonely empty film canister hanging in the tree. Replaced it with a bison and a fresh log. Sorry to those that follow. It may be a bit of a stretch for those under about 5ft 10”.
Neat views from here.

Found the container, but lid has been lost along with contents

We are very behind on our logs sorry but trying to catch up now. Bit of a long story involving a glass of wine and my laptop keyboard and not for the first time...we logged our DNFs for this trip but are only just catching up our finds now.

Walked with Bennett24 to get this one, looked for quite a while without seeing anything, and Bennett24 is certainly more adventurous than me and was willing to give it a good go. In the end we spotted some useful info in a log and that helped us spot the cache had come apart a little, so we signed in and replaced as we think it is supposed to be.

Thanks for the cache.

After spending the night at Ngunguru, we came along to this end of the beach to pick up a couple of higher-terrain caches. Quite a climb to this one and the cache took some finding, but got there in the end. Thanks.

This was next on the list for this area and we took the walk to GZ from the beach. It took us a while to spot this one as after a good search around including out on a few limbs we found the cache lying on the ground. Fortunately all but the lid was there and we were able to put the container back in the place that it usually hangs. TFTC.

Have tried a few times to get this one and finally with the help of a tall brother we managed. Had gotten a bit looped around and out of reach but managed to get to it. Gusty but beaut winters day!

After a short search we found the cache just hanging out. Hoisted Miss L in to the tree for the find. No pen but captured our find with a photo. Brilliant spot and lovely hide.

We could find this geocache while traveling in New Zealand. Today we drove from Whangarei to Mangonui. Along the way we picked up some interesting geocaches.
First one: Another Small Beach. 5 DNF's and 1000 possible hiding places here. It took us 4 eyes and 30 minutes to locate this one. Persistence is what is needed to find this one. 4 stars difficulty is right here.
Second: The wonderful Wangarei Falls. We were looking for the stash at the wrong side of the bridge but when we switched to the other side we had this one is seconds. Wonderful falls btw.
Third: Guardian of the Quarry. Once we located the right spot we could find the stash surprisingly quick.
Fourth: Rad Rock Bay. I needed this one for my Jasmer. It took us longer than expected. We read and read the description and the hint again and again and finally, after 20 minutes, we found this old one.
Fifth: a bit further was A view to die for. I completely understand the title of this one. I had to trust the tree and that was difficult. Some branches made it more difficult to get this but despite all obstacles and some sweat I could log in the end.
Sixth: Hundertwasser Toilets in Kawakawa. It is only D1T1 but I could resist taking this one after we logged '100H2O' in Vienna last year. We love his style.
Seventh and last one: Rainbow Falls. We were able to reach the backside of the falls via the rocks at the left. What a nice view from there!
Thanks for these seven geocaches. They made our journey even more interesting.

Found with Riser5 while trying to get him 100 caches for the hidden creatures challenge.

Riser5 threw me his phone for safe keeping as he made the final reach for the cache, this almost ended in disaster as it slipped through my grasp and fell a little way down the bank luckily caught by the bushes.

Found. Cache located quite quickly. Got one of the girls to scramble out and get it. Tftc.

A rather tricky cache to gain access to though easy to spot.
Personally I don't like to have nylon hanging through open spaces of trees as I fear catching birds attempting to fly through.

With team swiwinz we conquered it!

Got it. Very scary with my weight. The branch isn’t that thick. Great challenge to get. TFTC

Like the last finder, i climbed the tree first before spotting the suspect item and realizing i had further to go. I spent a couple of minutes trying to think of the easiest way to get to it, then realized that there wasnt one - a sketchy climb is required. Not reccomended for oldies or kids, great care required. Had seen this one pop up in the emails last night and temporarily had thoughts of trying for a night time FTF, until I read the description and saw that it was up a tree. Now climbing trees is definitely not my favourite thing and certainly not in the dark and without any other hints.

After work today, there were still no logs on the page, so I got my gear together including some rope and fired up the classic car to take it for a run in the nice weather. Lots of traffic heading east after 5 pm, so it was almost 6 before I arrived at Wellington's Bay ( well that's what we always called it when we were growing up ).

A short walk later saw me up at the great view, but I hoped I wasn't going to have to die for it, or the cache. Once I sussed out the correct tree, I stood back and had a good look for possible hiding spots and thought there were some up one particular branch and it looked reasonably safe to climb and have a look, without needing any extra gear.

I carefully worked my way up and had a look, but without success. Looking further afield, I spotted a suspicious object and it looked like it would be relatively safe to access, so I carried on and was soon rewarded with the cache container. Being careful not to drop anything, I extracted the log, and yes, it was still blank, so FTF number 47 for me. Carefully replaced everything as found and made my way slowly back down to GL. Phew, made it...!! TFTC

And, just a note for future cachers. Yes, climbing is required, but there are probably enough branches and places to hold to be able to access it relatively safely. Just take it slow, be careful and enjoy the view from up there...!!
